501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have any one had experiences with banned bank/providers because of gambling? on: December 20, 2023, 09:50:42 PM
I don't have any experience with this yet, but it sounds like if you're from a country where gambling is illegal, trying to transfer money from your local bank account to a gambling site could potentially get your account blocked.  Banks likely monitor for these types of potentially illegal transactions.

Personally, I tend to stick to crypto gambling platforms as I find them safer than dealing with traditional banks.  With crypto there's no central authority that can freeze your account if you run into issues.

If your bank account does get blocked, try talking to your bank first to plead your case.  Explain why you tried transferring to a gambling site, apologize, and ask politely if there's any way for them to reconsider unblocking you. Remaining calm and constructive in that conversation will go a lot further than getting upset at the bank employee who likely didn't set the policy themselves.
502  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diverse is your crypto portfolio? on: December 20, 2023, 09:14:34 PM
I've got some money in cryptocurrency, but I'd rather not say exactly how much.  I'm not one of those people with a huge crypto portfolio - just a normal guy who believes this technology has a future.  Ive focused my investments on a couple of coins that seem to have real purpose behind them, not just hype.  There's one main one I'm pretty heavily into.  The others are smaller bets on projects I find interesting and  i figure it's smarter to go deep on a few things than buy a little of everything under the sun.  Who knows, maybe one of my little altcoin gambles pays off down the road.  Or maybe not.  Its a risk but compared to playing the stock market or keeping money in a savings account making nothing, I think it's worth it.  This isn't my whole nest egg anyway - I've got other more traditional investments too.  Crypto is just a part of my portfolio that I hope grows over the long run.  Well see what happens.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SATOSHI IS BACK with satoshi@vistomail.com BUT ITS SCAM on: December 20, 2023, 08:24:54 PM
I gotta say, trying to connect your BRC-20 shit to Satoshi seems kinda sketchy.  I mean, buying up an old domain name where Satoshi supposedly had one email address don't make it legit. Just 'cause you squat on a domain don't mean you got any ties to Bitcoins creator.  Honestly it comes off shady like you're hoping people just make assumptions and throw money at this and, folks aren't that gullible.

This whole thing smells fishy to me - it's teetering into scammy territory big time.  I know you wanna make your project seem special, but piggybacking off Satoshi aint the way, and most people see through that nonsense pretty quick.  Maybe try building value without these attempts to trick people?

504  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get 1 eth or 1 btc on: December 20, 2023, 06:50:20 PM
shouldnt it be easier?

Why? I don't really see why earning bitcoin should be any easier than making money in other ways.  I guess you're wondering if there's something special that makes bitcoin easier to obtain? Well, heres the thing - bitcoin is a form of money, just like dollars or euros.  And how easy or tough it is for someone to get their hands on money depends on a whole bunch of factors - what talents they have, where they happen to live what's going on around them economically, and so on.

So for me, I don't assume that just because something is a cryptocurrency like bitcoin that it's necessarily straightforward to acquire.  You still gotta have the means and opportunity, just like with any other type of money.  Some folks might find it easy others not so much.  but it aint inherently easier or simpler, that's for sure.
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: December 19, 2023, 03:39:05 PM
---
After I showed him the amount of Bitcoins I have bought then he just developed interest and since he knew that am not easily convinced on anything concerning the Internet but I told interest in buying and hodling Bitcoin that it's really something that's genuine.

I think it's great you've been telling your friends about Bitcoin.  Sharing knowledge is so important.  But with investing stuff, you gotta be careful not to overwhelm newbies.

Still, seems like you covered the basics solidly for your buddy.  the basics matter most and  like you said about seed phrase - that's key for protecting coins.  But, this stuff changes fast though, so we all gotta keep learning.  But good on you for helping get him started.  Just try not to info overload the guy you know? Start slow and build up.
506  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get 1 eth or 1 btc on: December 19, 2023, 01:31:02 PM
In a modern way, no Trolls or old ideas/patern

There's a couple different ways a person can get their hands on 1 ETH or 1 BTC. As far as I can see other members have already mentioned most of them so I'll just give you the lowdown on some of the main options floating around out there:

First way is to straight up buy the coins using regular old dollars or euros.  Just go over to one of the popular crypto exchanges like Coinbase, Binance - you know, the usual suspects - make yourself an account, deposit some fiat and voila and  at that point you can use that money to buy up as much Ethereum or Bitcoin as you want.

Second idea is maybe you run a business or do some freelancing work on the side.  If that's the case, could be worth looking into letting customers pay you direct in crypto.  More companies are dipping their toes in and accepting cryptocurrency payments nowadays so it aint uncommon.

There's also a couple websites where you can earn a lil' crypto just for doing odd jobs and tasks in your spare time.  Surveys, gigs, whatever.  Not gonna make you rich but it's an easy way to stack some coin here and there.

Last thought - if you happen to personally know someone who already owns some crypto you could always try buttering them up and asking real nice for them to shoot some your way as a gift.  Doesn't hurt to ask right?

So in a nutshell, that's some of the main starting points for getting your hands on 1 ETH or 1 BTC.
507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 16, 2023, 10:53:15 PM
Fixing matches is for sure a big problem in sports betting.  It's tricky to catch cause folks can do it real subtle-like.  Last few years there's been some famous cases of fixes that got people looking real close at betting.  but it's still hard to stop fixes from happening. and  Could be any league but more so the small ones where teams need money more.

As for match fixing being a common occurrence in leagues I place bets at? I honestly don't know. I hope not.
508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What I understand about Bitcoin. on: December 16, 2023, 10:09:44 PM
Yeah, I'm not really sure what the OP was getting at either.  Like, he randomly brought up something about the economy of community and getting creative, which seemed kinda out of left field and  and then he tried using this analogy about ecosystems that was just confusing instead of clarifying anything.

I guess maybe he was trying to say it's important to have diversity and that even small things can make a big difference? But the way he explained it just made it hard to follow their train of thought.  I couldnt quite grasp the meaning from how he worded it.
509  Economy / Gambling / Re: The most trusted casinos on BTalk on: December 16, 2023, 08:17:31 PM
There have been some cases and accusations against casino that have been piling up, but as far as I can see, most of them have been successfully resolved now. Although, I wouldn't really say that their reputation was completely destroyed since bc.game is an old and somewhat reputable casino.
BC.Game's controversy has been a rollercoaster ride so far with them falling and rising back up in a short period of time. Personally, I still don't trust with them with huge amounts which is why I am sticking to small amounts.

They are way, way better than sites like 1xbit and Bitstarz though, but I am cautiously optimistic about them currently.

True. But you know, BC.Game deserves some credit for trying to make things right and improve their image and  it's a start down the proper path, at least.  When a company owns their screwups and takes steps to fix them, that shows they are serious about rebuilding trust and keeping customers happy.

But talk is cheap.  We'll have to see if BC.Game can keep up and deliver on promises to clean up their act.  If so users might start trusting them more and they'll shape up a decent reputation.

For now, I think you've got the right to play it safe and only bet small amounts.
510  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: December 16, 2023, 08:06:40 PM
Most influencers don't care what they promote. All they care about is money and cloud, that's all.
It may sound harsh but that's the truth.

By the way, Drake is playing with sponsored money, everybody can see that. I mean it's the worst acting ever actually when he is on his infamous drake vs stake stream.
The best (worst) thing is, his sponsored playing even gave him tickets for the weekly raffle in the past and he of course won with having thousands of tickets.

Hahahaha! Honestly, I get what you're saying.  It does seem like a lot of influencers care more about getting paid and building their popularity than if what they're promoting is worthwhile.  They'll plug just about anything as long as the moneys good, not worrying if it's really a quality product.

That fake streamer situation makes me shake my head.  Dude was so obviously putting on an act, not genuinely gambling his cash and  it's shady.  Makes you wonder if he actually thinks that gambling site is legit or if he's just doing it for the check they cut him.  Hard to take his recommendation seriously when it seems so phony.

I dont know maybe I'm being too cynical.  Perhaps some influencers really do use their clout responsibly.  But it definitely pays to be skeptical about endorsements, thinking about what's really motivating them.  More often than not, it comes down to money and chasing more followers.
511  Economy / Gambling / Re: tell me the best online casino on: December 16, 2023, 07:22:19 PM
A fair point - when choosing an online casino, safety and trustworthiness should be top priorities.  No one wants to put their hard-earned cash at risk on a sketchy site that could potentially scam.  I've noticed several forum members here recommending casinos that seem to meet high standards in those areas and  probably the best approach is to poke around the forums yourself, check out multiple suggestions, and do your own digging before deciding where to create an account.  There are likely some solid options discussed here but personal research is always the best.

What's the best and easiest way to learn about Bitcoin and everything around it ?

I'd recommend reading through a thread or two here each day.  After you do, try summarizing what you learned and ask others if you got it right.  Going over things again and again like that can really help cement new concepts.

Here are a couple threads with good info for new members:

513  Economy / Economics / Re: Currency is Passé on: December 16, 2023, 06:37:01 PM
This simplifies accounting to the lowest number of steps possible and eliminates redundant transaction fees that would otherwise be required when passing digital assets as currency in each purchase.

Your solution tries to streamline payments and eliminate transaction fees, but doesn't fully address double spending problem with digital money.  Sellers would also have to manually track every sale. This would be a complex and error-prone process, and it would be susceptible to fraud.

Did I miss something ? I don't know which issues you are talking about. I haven't followed them much recently.
If you could point to some particular thread mentioning those issues ?
I tried searching the same on the forum but couldn't find anything relevant.

There have been some cases and accusations against casino that have been piling up, but as far as I can see, most of them have been successfully resolved now. Although, I wouldn't really say that their reputation was completely destroyed since bc.game is an old and somewhat reputable casino.

Here you can see more info:

Currently, these are the open cases against BC.Game, with the declared fund being confiscated:

<...>

There are many casinos that fit your criteria, but we can't do all the legwork for you. You gotta dig into it yourself!  Look around at this board, read what others say compare stuff that matters to you.  Find one that clicks with what you want.  We ain't gonna hand-feed you everything.

But, if you got a particular question rattling around or need thoughts on something specific, feel free to ask.  just don’t expect us to do everything start to finish.
516  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone find the spate of online casinos a bit uninspired? on: December 15, 2023, 10:29:24 PM
Since you brought up this topic I wonder what you have in mind when you say that casinos are a bit uninspired... what kind of ideas you have about possible "upgrades & changes" that would make casinos more attractive, unique, and innovative?

I've had the thought to set up my own casino with unique games. I have experience with the industry and I think there are big untapped opportunities to make new/interesting experiences.

I'd rather show than tell though.

Well, creating innovative and unique casino games that stand out from the pack is no easy feat, but for the right entrepreneur with a creative spark and some technical know-how, the opportunity exists to carve out a distinctive niche.  The key lies in identifying an aspect of gaming that could be improved upon or an itch that current games fail to scratch. With an abundance of repetitive slot and poker variants already saturating the market casino patrons may welcome a breath of fresh air that adds an extra dimension to their gaming experience and  though initially catering to a smaller target audience, a casino offering uniquely contagious games could garner a cult following that subsequently grows by word-of-mouth.  Of course, flawless execution and fair odds would be mandatory to earn players' trust and loyalty in the long haul.
517  Economy / Gambling / Re: The most trusted casinos on BTalk on: December 15, 2023, 10:08:02 PM
Yeah, no doubt the gambling industry has exploded lately.  More people placing more bets has led new casinos to open up shop, kinda like a gold rush.  All these flashy new online places trying to elbow their way in has sparked a full-on advertising war too.

Much more also, Bitcoin is just a currency that is used among other currencies to make deposits or to place bets and also withdraw from online casinos, so for sure it may contribute to the popularity of those casinos but certainly not an integral part of the casino.

I am confused with the bolded part, care to elaborate?

He is probably referring to the fact that online casinos can function without Bitcoin, they work fine taking regular money or other cryptos.  But Bitcoin has for sure helped these gambling sites get more popular.  It's just so easy to use for gambling.  The privacy used to be a big plus too - that was important to gamblers.   But that advantage is fading now as Bitcoin becomes less private every day.
518  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone find the spate of online casinos a bit uninspired? on: December 14, 2023, 11:40:41 PM
It's still surprising to me that there aren't more original casinos. If something is lucrative it usually attracts a lot of creative attention. Though maybe many little attempts are spawning and it's just hard to notice in the sea of copycats.

From what I've seen, the big casino companies have cash to spare, so they pay for slick websites and eye-catching banners when they run promotions.  Their stuff looks sharp and  the smaller fry don't have that kind of budget, so they either farm it out to cut-rate designers or buy some generic script that makes all the sites look carbon copies of each other.

I figure the big outfits want to keep pulling in new players and get their names out there so they shell out for top-notch design to reel people in.  The little guys just want to keep things running as cheap as possible.  Can't say I blame them, but its plain to see they don't put much into aesthetics or standing apart from the crowd visually.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Target your wins in a series of bets on: December 14, 2023, 10:27:42 PM
If we're talking about sports betting, I gotta say I'm not a huge fan of systems that target a specific number of wins.  That stuff makes me kinda nervous - feels too much like chasing losses. And that's a dark road I dont wanna go down and  lose one bet and suddenly you're throwing money around making reckless picks trying to win it back real quick.  Seen it happen and it ain't pretty.

Nah, do it right and focus on value I say.  Find them bets where the odds outstrip the true odds by a good bit.  That's how you do this thing sustainable like.  Dont gotta win most your bets doing it that way neither.  You find enough value bets, you're golden in the long run.  That's my take anyway.  Slow n steady wins the race with sports betting.
