561  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🍍Pineapple Poker| Experience Revolutionary P2P Poker on Telegram🍍 on: February 01, 2024, 12:44:46 PM
Welcome to the forum!

I have been seeing for quite sometime that gambling new ventures are now coming up with Telegram based casinos. I am not against those casinos or games, but my question is why? Telegram has a bad reputation of scams and such promotions will give anyone  with first hand impression that they are not to be trusted.

Why not try to invest some money on a self hosted website and hire a game provider and then promote it. Usually these kind of telegram gambling games don't get the usual hype as a self hosted, ready for marketing casinos get. Please stop coming up with such gambling products as you will hardly find any takers from the forum.
562  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Republic of Suriname is considering a national strategy with BTC on: February 01, 2024, 12:10:14 PM
Isn't the adoption of Bitcoin becoming common in countries that are located in South America? The US has been influencing the economies of these countries for its benefit for a long time, does this mean these countries are trying to get out of USD dominance? I think they are turning to Bitcoin as a source of hope, If every country in that continent is looking for a source to stabilize their economy, they should adopt Bitcoin. Otherwise, they will be controlled by the US, ensuring they do not become a stable economy as it suits the US interest.

Now, the next thing that came into my mind was is this the reason why the US through the SEC approved Bitcoin ETF? Or there is something else cooking as there is news that the SEC is going to approve Ethereum ETF by May this year. Whatever it is, I feel Bitcoin is benefiting as such steps would increase its adoption phase, eventually helping holders with price gain.
563  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: 3 Individuals Charged for 1.89 B Crypto scams on: February 01, 2024, 11:44:27 AM
After reading the press release they certainly scammed innocent or greedy contract buyers with the concept of cloud mining. I have seen many websites that are related to the crypto niche promoting cloud mining contracts as they offer a good percentage through affiliate marketing. What I wonder is how these three scammers got caught when there were plenty of ways to not get caught. I am reading this for the first time that crypto scammers got caught, looks to me as if they were first-timers who were not at all equipped to hide themselves.

Crypto scams have become quite common, but getting caught by authorities is now becoming a new normal. It is evident that the cybercrime unit is now well equipped and is getting properly funded. They are recruiting the right individuals to handle cybercrime which sadly increased 125% from 2020 to 2021 according to a report that I read earlier.
564  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Nigeria unbans cryptocurrency on: February 01, 2024, 11:32:25 AM
Why are there no exchangers in India where you can exchange cryptocurrencies for cash? Is this a very big crime?

We do have many exchanges in India and all of them are being regulated by the government. That is why every transaction we make on the Indian exchange costs as 1% tax deduction at source and every profit we make through trading is taxed 30% at the end of the financial assessment year. That is why Indian traders shifted to international exchanges like Binance, Mexc, Kucoin, and others to avoid tax deductions at source and for conversion crypto to local fiat, they use local exchange or international P2P.

To avoid these taxes the Indian community shifted to international exchanges and used it for both trading and conversion of crypto to local currency through P2P. Seeing this and suffering a good revenue loss the Indian government has not placed a shadow ban on international exchanges. They first blocked their apps on the Apple Store and Google Play Store and now they have banned their URLs. As we are still living in a third world country with high population density some have now started using illegal ways to access these websites.

More than the US, I feel my country is trying its level best to control Bitcoin and altcoins using such tactics. The problem is that this government is trying to control a sector in an orthodox manner which does not make any sense. They do not have the manpower, not many resources to control the internet and what is operating using it.
565  Local / India / Re: [2023 Yearly overview and December update] Indian Board activity on Bitcointalk on: February 01, 2024, 10:20:44 AM
Looks like we need to work more towards engagement on the local board. I am planning another contest which will be rewarding those who are very active on the local board and there would be a few more requirements. I will ask everyone on that list to be active in order to earn free and extra Bitcoin. There is no harm in earning extra money when it is available in away that helps you as a user and the local board.
566  Local / India / Re: Which Country has the Highest Crypto Tax Rate and Which does not? on: February 01, 2024, 10:06:11 AM
Budget presented in Parliament today and the only thing I was interested in hearing was the reduction of capital gain tax or the reduction in TDS. Sadly, nothing mentioned by the FM whereas they gave a big boost to salaried class. Those who are earning upto 7 lac per year won't incur any tax and further they reduced the percentage of tax for anyone earning upto 12 lac a year. All these for getting re-elected in the upcoming national election.
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF Future on: February 01, 2024, 09:41:42 AM
After all, it is an exchange traded fund that is a financial product, and if there are legal violations like fraud or manipulation related to a particular Bitcoin ETF then its trading can be halted. Which later on can result in the ETF sponsor closing the fund. The other reason that I can think of is that if it does not gain profit or becomes unprofitable then it can be closed. It all depends on how the regulatory and crypto environment does in the future, which as of now is looking good.

571  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there anything else like bitcoin? on: January 31, 2024, 12:23:11 PM
The title on this thread represents a different question from the content. I don't see any line of your content that represents the question on your topic.

I think you forgot or could not interpret this part by OP, which I have highlighted in bold below. Next time please be careful with what you are writing as spamming is not tolerated in the forum. I would recommend you to always read twice or thrice if you are not able to understand before replying to any topic.

What do you think is going to develop tremendously in the future?

Nothing can replace Bitcoin for the time being and if anything does then it would create a history. Even the governments are now coming up with ways to harness the potential output of Bitcoin. The time is coming when Bitcoin will be traded in cryptocurrency exchanges throughout the globe and on stock markets everywhere in the world.

572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Metamask now supporting bitcoin? on: January 31, 2024, 12:08:47 PM
Metamask now supporting bitcoin or a mistake from the news? Yes there are misinformation on news sometimes.
I do not want to download Metamask to check this which I think is a long process than asking on this forum.

If it is supporting Bitcoin what big difference it can make in the already competitive Bitcoin wallet market? Looking at the present condition, a Bitcoin user would like a wallet that provides privacy for transactions made through it. I do not think Metamask can come up with such kind of solution as that which is cheap. As for getting into a Bitcoin wallet is a good sign as WBTC, like tokens won't be considered as a first option for Bitcoin. Now users would be more interested in getting Bitcoin than wrapped tokens which are nothing but ERC20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain. The same analogy would go for tokens that are on the Binance blockchain but are not original Bitcoin. I feel this is good for Bitcoin as these Bitcoin replicas will now enter a phase when they will die and diminish.
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Relationship Between Cryptocurrency and Traditional Banking on: January 31, 2024, 11:59:22 AM

So, let’s talk about this interesting duo: cryptocurrency and traditional banking. Some say traditional banks are threatened by crypto’s rise, while others think they’re starting to see the potential and hopping on the bandwagon. Either way, it’s a fascinating dynamic to watch unfold. What do you think? Are they destined for a happily ever after or is this just a temporary fling?

Bitcoin is causing fear among traditional bankers and those operating traditional banking. I don't consider other cryptocurrencies to be anywhere near Bitcoin. Therefore, I will only consider Bitcoin for my argument. Here are my top 5 reasons why Bitcoin is more famous with a common man and why he would like to buy it.

1. Bitcoin is decentralized and traditional banking is not.
2. Bitcoin empowers a common man whereas banking makes the rich richer and the poor poorer.
3. Bitcoin is for everyone and banking only supports those who can maintain a minimum balance and follow their rules and regulations.
4. Bitcoin was created to overcome the uncertainty of Banking.
5  Bitcoin transaction fees are still cheaper than Banking transaction fees for international payment.

When financial institutions come up with an option to create a fund such as ETF then it is clear they are unable to stop Bitcoin.
574  Local / India / Re: Which Country has the Highest Crypto Tax Rate and Which does not? on: January 31, 2024, 10:08:14 AM
Yes this just shows how different countries and their government are trying to loot the people out their profits as it just frustrates me even to think who gave them rights to take huge chunk out of our profit for which we spend sleepless nights and hours working on trading strategy to earn that, these sort of extortion are the reason why Bitcoin was created to remove any barrier or 3rd party for P2P transfers.

We cannot think of migrating to any other nation unless we are ultra rich with Crypto and it becomes our main source of income. UAE would be the most preferred choice as compared to cost of living in other nations.

You are right this is how government justify looting from people in the name of development. They do it with full legal resource and we are obliged to pay them otherwise we have to face consequences. Bitcoin creation was meant to bring financial freedom and empower everyone holding Bitcoin with decentralized financial ecosystem. Which now has become more of a commodity that has good value and now the government want to have a piece of it.

In India apart from the capital gain tax which is 30% we also pay TDS of 1% on every transaction we make. Considering the TDS we are still paying more as tax on crypto than any other country that has been listed on the OP. As such Indians have been paying the highest tax for the last 10 years on everything it is not just tax on your earnings tax in the form of GDP and others are the highest in the world. Before the present government came into power we were not paying taxes like we do now.

Agreed that apart from capital gain tax we also pay 1% TDS. But the tax only comes into action when you are making profit through trading. The tax only applies on the profit you earn and not on the whole amount. There are loop holes in our taxing policy and if you have understood it properly you would know what I am referring to.

576  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎰 What's Your Top Pick for Crypto Casinos in 2024? Share & Discover Hidden Gems on: January 30, 2024, 11:49:49 AM
I have used three casinos till now the first one I used was Stake.com and to date, it is my favorite. The layout has gradually evolved and the original games have been now copied by most casinos with different names and graphics. The next casino that I still prefer using is Roobet.com as they do come up with new games and their layout is very good. I recently used it a couple of times, BC.game does not have what the above two have but I like it because they are innovative and have some features that are not available in the other two.
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If a addict lives within, which method would you choose to help them on: January 30, 2024, 11:37:46 AM
As a member of a family and there is a gambling addict within, which method do you think it's the best to rip off the addict from your family member?

2. Be harsh about it, force them to quit, let them know that gambling isn't this safe, bounce on them all the time because you love them, don't go any soft on them, because been soft won't make them see reasons why it's bad to be a gambling addict.

Which do you think it's best? Some people do think that been soft and gentle will be more effective and some people think that been harder on them is the real love here, they need to make them stop by force.

What do you think?

I do not think being harsh would solve the issue of addiction as it is complex and involves underlying issues such as trauma, mental health challenges, and lack of coping skills. Forcing an addict to stop will only aggravate his addiction habit. The best option is to create a supportive environment for that addict as control tactics or emotional pressure generally backfires. The best option is to hire a professional who knows how addiction issues can be worked on and how an individual can come out of his addiction. If you do not want the family to disintegrate, it is better to hire a professional rather than come out with such an absurd strategy.
578  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: January 30, 2024, 09:42:20 AM
Is anyone watching the U-19 World CUP? The Indian team is playing against the New Zealand team today. India are favorite to win as they have been good with the bat and the ball. Musheer Khan and Uday Saharan are on the field and both are very good in the middle order. They both have been the backbone of Indian batting and have scored a couple of hundreds in the tournament. Today's game is a must-watch if you are not doing anything and it is coming live on Hotstar if anyone wants to watch it online.
579  Local / India / Which Country has the Highest Crypto Tax Rate and Which does not? on: January 30, 2024, 09:07:04 AM
Found this image being circulated on social media and I was amazed as to how much some countries have crypto tax. All of them are more than what we are paying in our country and some are beyond our imagination. There is another list where countries do not charge a single rate as tax. So, which country are you planning to shift to after watching the image below?

Iceland and Japan are two countries that do not have a lot of population. That might be the reason why the tax rate is so high in these two countries. After looking at those rates I think we are still better than those living in these countries.
580  Other / Meta / Re: Should bitcointalk ban promotion of other forums? on: January 29, 2024, 04:36:43 PM
I have seen that this forum does not consider it inappropriate when some member makes a post or thread about a competing forum. I am a member of other popular forums and they do not allow mention of competing forums as it is free advertising for them.
This is concerning for everyone  Angry as without naming the forum you want us to reply. Please be specific, it would be easy to understand your query if you could name the forum in question and what led you to this topic. I haven't seen any other forum stopping anyone of discussing about Bitcointalk and I have not been in any scenario where our mods decided to stop us naming other forum.
It is not a crypto forum. It is a popular IM forum that has this rule.
What do you meam by IM? Instant messaging? Or something else. I am not that good with shorter form of any big name. Can you please elaborate as being in detailed can help us solve your problem.
