561  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I missed the boat is not new concept.. on: November 09, 2021, 03:59:49 PM

Indeed. I've read not long ago a post that tells that best moment to buy bitcoin is "now" and was always "now", whether in 2009, 2010, 2011... and so on until, yeah, now.

People said its too late to buy BTC when it was 1$, they said this again and again when it went up to 10$, 100$ and 1000$. Even today when BTC is touching 70k, we are hearing same voices. Buying BTC at ATH is not a good idea, we must buy when its bearish.
As far as missing the opportunity is concerned, we are never in a position to predict what maximum price BTC will attain. So there is no absolute opportunity that is missed, its always open.
562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brazilian Congressman proposes Crypto Payment for workers on: November 09, 2021, 03:49:55 PM

I keep wondering how is the situation of retirement pension deductions, life insurance, how will the person make a loan at the bank?

For now they are only offering salaries in BTC.

I have a different perspective on this, while many are praising this idea I think due to high price volatility its not a good idea to have your salary in BTC. Because you have to convert that BTC in fiat at some point for your daily living. We are dependent on our salaries for our daily livings (to pay bills, to buy groceries etc.). How about getting a salary of 500$ and in the evening you get to know its 450$ (due to Musk tweet).
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin ever get regulated on: November 09, 2021, 03:36:35 PM
No. Bitcoin is decentralized and censorship resistant. Only exchanges and centralized services will be regulated and this is not new.

That's the main point. Government and centralized bodies don't like decentralized crypto aka Bitcoin. If we talk about currencies like XRP, BnB and exchanges like Binance they are not decentralized cryptos rather centralized one. Governments have no issue in accepting the centralized cryptos that can be traced and taxed. I keep writing on such posts (since they pop up every other day) that governments all around the world have zero tolerance for decentralized P2P cash transfer.
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CATA]Flow | NFT | Metaverse | Decentralized Cloud Storage on: November 09, 2021, 12:29:21 PM
And hey!

I see a lot of people are asking about token sale, here is an explanation:
We are currently conducting the only round of fundraising of CATA within the ecosystem. We will accept support from projects in the ecosystem, not only in terms of funding, but also in terms of technical cooperation, community building, etc.
If you would like to invest in this round, you can send e-mails to investor@cata.network, with a brief introduction about yourself. We will reply you as soon as possible and have a further discussion.

Thanks!
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CATA]Flow | NFT | Metaverse | Decentralized Cloud Storage on: November 09, 2021, 10:59:06 AM

Exactly! We think there is still a big gap in the decentralized storage, especially in the mid-tier tools part. That's what we hope to do. We are currently able to provide sql-compatible query engines and will introduce more useful tools in the future.

Can you explain what services you are offering to improve mid-tier tools in decentralized storage? Moreover, you still missed the key point that is asked on this thread over and over again i.e. where we can invest in this project?

Now we have set up a query engine on top of the Decentralized File System, that means developers can manage structured data and query them effectively also in decentralized manner. It may serve like a decentralized database and it is sql-compatible and serverless. And we are going to integrate more tools including cache, cdn, RDF, and even AI-related tools in the future.
And sorry for missing the point about investment. We currently have a fundraising program and it is still in progress. You can send E-mail to investor@cata.network for further information.
566  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I fail in trading on: November 08, 2021, 05:03:11 PM
I’m a newbie in trading. I want to improve my trading skills. I have heard some experienced trader said that I should learn and read more before start, and also get some experience. Trading requires a lot of patience and hard work, learn about the way to analyze the price chart, when they can be able to analyze price chart they will know the best time to buy and sell and know which one is the best coin to trade…
I tried one but I falied. There is something I don’t know? Please tell me more.

You are not alone in the list as around 80% of traders end up in loss.( Here is interesting read, If You're Day Trading, You Will Probably Lose Money: Here's Why). Crypto trading is wild fire that cant be handled even by experienced traders. Newbies are an easy hunt for trading. What I wanna say is play long time investment aka HODL. Its tested strategy that guarantees profit. The only down side of HODL is it doesnt comes over night.
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all the money in the world entered the cryptocurrency market? on: November 08, 2021, 04:56:16 PM

Crypto is popular among its community member and right now its in every country. The no of people that are using it or fully understand it are  still very less in number. To me crypto is far from becoming a fundamental technology or may be never, primary reason you have already mentioned.

There are lot of people now a days that know bitcoin and what it is but they didn't put their money to since they know that is is very risky . Since the pandemic came the netizen get curious of bitcoin thats why they research and get know bitcoin . But it is really innovation into currency system now a days and also it is great for the future . I think if all money entered the crypto is the price will stabilize i think since there are balance supply and demand which i think not that good for the investors.

If you see government regulations regarding decentralized crypto then they are very much same even in pandemic. I don't foresee that government will soften its stance on decentralized crypto in near future. Its the community that is driving the crypto market for past 10 years and will be major factor in coming years also. Nonetheless it will be good if all money in the world enters crypto i.e. fiat is replace by crypto. But thats something not happening now.
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CATA]Flow | NFT | Metaverse | Decentralized Cloud Storage on: November 08, 2021, 10:31:18 AM

Blockchain is complex and right now there is no single file system available that can meet upper layer expectations. We need more of stuff that can handle databases, data warehouses, CDNs etc. If CATA is the solution designed for this then it will be a huge success.

Exactly! We think there is still a big gap in the decentralized storage, especially in the mid-tier tools part. That's what we hope to do. We are currently able to provide sql-compatible query engines and will introduce more useful tools in the future.
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2017 Vs 2021 on: November 07, 2021, 05:03:51 PM
Since nobody can predict what will happen in the next few weeks and months, but if we follow what majority are saying, November is a bullish month in crypto and particularly this November is very bullish (according to some source so if this is going to be the case, it is better to get prepared than to be left behind,
From now till q1 2022 things can go either ways, but I feel before the bear market comes, the market will go up. In any case am prepared for either one.

Well that's true. Nobody can predict crypto market behavior for coming week or month, there are only rumors and speculations. 2017 bull run lasted for few weeks only while 2021 bull run continuous for almost a year. So we cant compare 2017 with 2021 at first. Seeing the stability in price of BTC it seems like coming month of Dec will also be bullish. But we need to keep one-thing in mind that market always take correction after massive bull run, so be prepared for that correction and plan accordingly.
570  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the most profitable way for me to earn income on my idle Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2021, 04:50:41 PM
If you don't need funds to support your life, just drop your bitcoins and hold. Moreover, buy it regularly. You will make a profit after a while. This is the simplest solution for a person with no experience or knowledge in cryptocurrency.
Well, as they say, over time, you will gain knowledge, and you will be able to determine where and how to spend your bitcoins.

HODLing is best and tested strategy that gave good results as compared to day or short term trading. But HODLing when you are getting huge profit IMO is not a wise thing. What I suggest is that one need to set a target price and sell his holdings as soon as that target price is reached. I know few people that are HODLing BTC bought at 10k, they say will sell them when BTC touches 100k. And this is something not understandable to me.
571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you pay with crypto??? on: November 07, 2021, 04:40:28 PM
So far, I'm also still using Fiat. not want to use bitcoin or other crypto. however, this goes back to my country's regulations which prohibit using crypto as an alternative payment. as a compliant citizen, I abide by those rules. however, my country does not prohibit using crypto as a place of investment but at your own risk.
to be honest, if I wanted to use crypto as an indirect means of payment, I converted it to fiat currency at the time, and used it. indirectly, I use crypto as a means of payment. Well, at least that's what I thought. I think people in countries that have the same regulations do what I do.

If crypto is not legalized in one country then there are not much options to spend crypto there and buying something online in crypto can also make you suspicious. There are many countries where use of decentralized crypto is not legalized.
I am also from a country where crypto is banned, so only option left for me and people like me is to HODL and convert my profit into fiat. So far it good experience, since I don't have options to spend BTC most of BTC are bound to HODL (blessing in disguise).
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China is the biggest user of digital currency, its just not bitcoin on: November 07, 2021, 09:48:45 AM

This was obvious, wasn't it? A country with the largest population in the world has introduced CBDC version of its paper currency, it's obvious that they would have the highest number of users of digital currency, also in a country like China where financial inclusivity is quite high, but obviously, you can't compare Bitcoin and Digital version of Yuan in any way, in fact there is a good chance that people using Digital YUAN would still find it difficult to operate private key bitcoin wallets. But I disagree with your statement that Bitcoin has failed to do so, the best thing about bitcoin is that it didn't imposed it's usage, you are free to choose whether you want to use it or not while the same isn't the case with Yuan which was imposed in the country.

If you read the news posted by OP it's, "40 million Chinese punters adopt Digital Yuan and spend up big". Its just like comparing apple with oranges. Governments are encouraging and enforcing use of digital version of fiat over cash for better visibility of financial activities and increasing tax net.
The list of sucess btc achieved in a decade time is far more then what fiat achieved in centuries. Btc has brought complete democracy in financial system which was greatly abused by centralised financial institutions.
573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 06, 2021, 08:58:15 AM
I can see a lot of indians happy on the performance of their team lately, as they should be that the indians were lowest on the net run rate but now their net run rate is the highest.

There is some mis-calculations going in the BCCI. I think that someone should tell them you don't  reach the finals if you top on the NRR. The Points are calculated first before the net run rate.   Tongue

India has done its own work before the Afghanistan v NZ game. Now if NZ loses to Afghanistan then India will be in semis because of NRR. India NRR has enormously gone up, thanks to there 210 runs against Afghanistan. In group 2, the second team to qualify for semis will be decided after NZ v Afghanistan game. India is still in run for the semis.
574  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Use Technical Analysis? on: November 02, 2021, 06:33:32 AM
Trading maybe quite like gambling but the only difference is that trading secures profits most of the time while gambling is just pure on luck and if you're unlucky that time, you'll eventually end up in loss. However, trading may not be fully profitable if you don't have bases on your own and not just technical but also fundamental analysis can be of great help if you're aiming for a successful trading. And i think we all have different strategies that can be applied in trading and as for me, i'll still go with the common and basic. I find it still profitable with buying low and selling high, at least there's less risk and effortless and its really working on me.

IMO technical / fundamental analysis mixed with your knowledge and personal strategy are best way to survive in crypto market. I personally feel that TA/FA are tools of matured market like Equity trading. In crypto charts don't works most of time and it's your own knowledge n strategy that works most of the time.
These are just my few satoshis.
575  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another (same old) reason to avoid centralized exchanges on: November 02, 2021, 04:53:36 AM
Bitcoin was never designed for centralised exchanges,  if you are going to deposit your coins to exchanges like binance then you need to be prepared for such things. My account was limited and I kyc was not approved on binance, they said someone else has attempted kyc with my ID ( wh is something impossible). It took me 3 complete days to fully activate my account.
P2P accounts are decentralized but they are prone to cyber stacks which are lesser in centralised exchanges.
576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla make 1 billion profits from it Bitcoin holding on: November 02, 2021, 04:39:31 AM
All you need to do is invest in the right time where the price is not at its peak and when you found the right timing, all you need to do is patience and perseverance because the wait will gonna be long but surely have good results.

One more thing I wanna add is that Tesla earned 1 billion usd profit on investment that must be in billions usd (may be 10 billion usd or 20 billion usd). We can earn similar or even more profits in terms of percentage. As you said its about right timing, 100 dollars invested at right time can give you 50% ROI that will be more then what Tesla got. Focus on timing and your profit %, don't see the amount of profit.
577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you protect your Bitcoin from market volatility? on: November 01, 2021, 04:30:15 PM
Exchange to stable coin
My first thought when I read the title.

You are not alone who thinks this way. Count me in too. Thanks to stable coin, hodlers like me sleep well in bullish/bearish crypto market.

On the way is much greater rahter than those who are not starting at all, I mean yes it can be a rocky bumpy ride along the way but as long as your confident in your goal then you'll know when you see brightness and calm the end of the road. So don't get discouraged if you're just starting to make your portfolio big and see other much ahead at you, this isn't a race because the goal is to make profit and have long-term plan to protect ourselves against the market's volatility, surely we can't avoid it that's why it is indeed important to know what your plan.

Well every thousand miles journey start with a single step. If we keep  ourselves  outside the market, just seeing others making profit we can't excel. One thing we need to keep in our mind is that crypto investment works both way, you need to equip yourself with knowledge and necessary tools otherwise you will be just another loser trader. Crypto trading is not as easy as it looks like.
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy 13th Anniversary Bitcoin Whitepaper on: November 01, 2021, 04:01:12 PM

There seems to be a lot of congratulations from everywhere, and I'm glad I got to know Bitcoin so far. What do you most want to say as a form of gratitude because without Bitcoin, maybe I would not have been born in this forum.
For the presence of Bitcoin that has changed my life into something I never expected before.

What are your hopes for the future for Bitcoin and its sustainability?  Wink

Times flies, it seems like yesterday event but its 13 years.
I realised what btc is, when I started receiving payments of my online work from clients across the world. Payment is instant and without any cuts. I was amazed since I user to get payments via fiverr where 20% was deducted by fiverr and payment is also released after 14 days of order completion. I have to admit I am not a trader just a hodler.
The reason why I like is because it makes p2p payments a reality and I am happy I used btc for the purpose its created.
579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your strategy to carry on making money when Bitcoin turns bearish on: November 01, 2021, 04:44:30 AM
I don't make money via trading Bitcoins.I make money via having a job and working.I'm sure that 80-90% of all the crypto traders don't make any money out of crypto trading. They have jobs.

Well majority of traders end up in loss, read this to learn more.
If You're Day Trading, You Will Probably Lose Money: Here's Why
The best way to earn money through crypto is buy when market is bearish and HODL. Its a time consuming process but its worthy. So if I find bearish season (which is OP question) I will gather btc and HODL. I don't expect profit during bear mart.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum is going to reach $5k soon? on: October 31, 2021, 12:09:39 PM
The current movement of Ethereum is quite good because Ethereum is following Bitcoin's good trend. But in the coming week it will not reach the price of $5K in my opinion even though this week the movement of Ethereum is quite good as seen in the chart. However, if the trend continues until the end of the year, then the price of $5K could be achieved by Ethereum.

Ethereum in current bull run has seen many ATH that are around 4000$, recently Eth setup another ATH of $4,400 before sliding back to current price of 4200$. Ethereum and other top alt coins prices are very much related to BTC. If BTC continuous its upward trend towards 70k then Eth will also surpass 5000$. In summary, it all depends on BTC price.
