561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 03, 2023, 12:54:32 PM
Brian Windhorst came out and said that no other teams outside of Miami have come forward to seriously make a trade offer for Damian Lillard. I’m not sure if it’s his contract, his age, or other teams are just trying to respect his wishes to end up in Miami, but it’s starting to look like Lillard might be a Trailblazer next season. I’m not sure how good that will be for his reputation if he’s disgruntled after being labeled as the most loyal player in the NBA.

Maybe they are also afraid that Lillard will not play with them since he release a statement that he only want to play on Miami. So maybe from this many team avoid him since they might lose a vital piece on their roster and Lillard is not fully committed on their team. Don't know if this trade plan will proceed since Blazers and its fans doesn't like the trade offer given by Miami so most likely we can still see Lillard wearing a Blazers uniform next season.

This could also be the likely case, that's why other teams are mum on even mentioning Lillard for a trade with them. They know that he wanted to play with only one team and that is Miami Heat, no more no less. If they enter the picture, they might disrupt what's going on from behind the negotiations.

On the other hand, we don't hear anything from the Heat as well. And there are even suggestions, that it's better for the Heat to just focus on Tyler Hero and make him their next big offensive weapon of a Dame Lillard didn't materialised this season.

So quite regarding to this trade no updates and with regard to other team's intentions to take Lilard, not sure if there's
negotiations or no one are really interested in interfering with the trade deal between Heat and Blazers.

I'm not sure if Miami will continue to try offering what they've got or like what you said, they will stay with Hero and try to develop
his skills for more competitive capabilities.
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: August 02, 2023, 11:06:09 PM
When it comes to gambling, it is all about luck. When you're lucky even the worst prediction you make will bring you money. The bad part you'll endup losing everything even when you're 100% sure on your prediction but you don't have the luck. From my understanding whatever the care we take and have statistics we'll fail if we don't have the luck. For this reason some limits being set for the day/week/month as suggested by the OP seems to be the better choice.

Well, there's even nothing like 100% accuracy in prediction because you can only predict, but you are not in the game to decide who wins and who does not win. Having statistics is just making sure you have your target amount to gamble off and also the days you wish to be gambling so that you don't end up being addicted, incurring more losses, or even wagering more than the amount you intend to. There are some people who don't really have plans for how much they wish to gamble off in a day, so any time they hit the casino, even if they have like $500 in their pockets, they will just use all of it to gamble. While they never intended to gamble with all that money, they will just get carried away with the fun until they have lost everything before they realise themselves.

No accurate all are just prediction and assumptions, if you make that bet then you are lucky, if not then it's the other way around,
gamblers should be aware and not to keep trying that luck.

If you have that control, you will lessen that chance of losing a lot, limitation and a good anticipation will allow you to take care of
your bankroll, gambling can lead you to addiction, so handling it with an extra care is very important.

Having some fun with a small amount of money that involves might be tolerable, but losing a lot because you get carried away
that's regretful when you realize the amount.
563  Local / Pilipinas / Re: May Mga Influencer Ba Tayo Na Tutok Sa Cryptocurrency? on: August 02, 2023, 10:49:55 PM

564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: August 02, 2023, 10:35:27 PM
I haven't been threatened because my gambling addiction isn't severe and I won't let myself go that far. Simply because I've been gambling for so long, I know how it works, and going too far won't help. So going to the point where a threat will come from individuals close to me will not happen.

With experience, you will be able to assess on your own if you are already exceeded from your usual habits,
something that you earn from doing it in a longer time frame.

It's good if you have that control and there's no need to wait for someone to tell you that you are not in the right directions
to the point that they will going to threaten you just for you to stop your gambling activities.
565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: August 02, 2023, 10:05:42 PM
Donaire is emotionally hurt after finding out that his father who used to be his former trainer on his first title shot against Darchinyan predicted that he would be knocked out by Santiago

Quote
Wow.  Just found out that my DAD was predicting I'd get koed by Santiago.  That stings differently

https://twitter.com/filipinoflash/status/1686490127613427712

Nonito Donaire Jr. ‘hurt’ after dad predicted he would get knocked out by Santiago

They have a very bitter parting of ways Donaire Sr. should not say that thing it's like wishing that his son to be in trouble you never do that to your son, boxing is a dangerous sport he knows it since he is a trainer also, by saying this he doesn't care on his son anymore.

Yes, I also read this feed in my twitter, I thought him and his father has settled their differences already. But it seems the older Donaire has some hatchet to bury with his son. And it's really sad to hear this one.

It was a bitter separation as far as I can remember, the involvement of Rachel Donaire as a manager in his boxing career really put a dent on his father and they were never the same again.

Donaire probably is like Mayweather, who also does not have a good relationship with his father. Well, it's sad news, but we don't know what happened between them. All we know is that Donaire Sr. is a good trainer, and personally I don't agree with his prediction because it's something personal. He is not making views based on professional judgment.

But at least though there is no personal grudge between the Mayweather. In Nonito Jr case, it seems that his father some some grudge to settle with him and thus he wish that his son getting knockout and not becoming a world champion again.

And his wish becoming true as he lost the fight against Santiago. But I do believed that blood is thicker than water and so after this, we might see them settling their issues and the family is closer again. Hopefully this can happen in the future.

Hopefully, they will be able to settle their issues outside of social media. We know how the news will spread if both Donaire and his
Dad will continue to broadcast what's happening between them.

I think that personal issue should not be shared and in the case that Donaire already forecast what his dad's prediction and it so happens
that it came true.

Hoping that they can correct this and they observe that saying which blood is thicker than water.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 02, 2023, 09:45:02 PM
Lakers is considered to be a dark horse as well, if I'm not mistaken, of course some of the core is back but still, a ageing Lebron and then injury prone AD? Still not sure how far the Lakers can go in this season.

No matter what happens to them in the Lakers this season, they have already done their job and won the championship because that's just all that it matters when you are with the Superteam trying to be a contender in the NBA league. It will be more amazing when they can get back to the NBA playoffs this season because they easily made a great run last season and also beat the defending champion easily. The worse thing they did was signed Westbrook despite having multiple stars that can help them with the championship again last season.

But some fans are saying that what they did was not enough because the last time they won the championship was in the middle of Covid pandemic where they had in-house games with a lot of rules to prevent Covid-19 from entering the league, moreover, at that time, NBA was still at an experimenting phase and not all players did play just like the usual season. Anyway, people have been divided when it comes to the topic, but yes, a win is a win and nobody can take that from them.

There is still in doubts about what the Lakers achieved, but a title is still a title and even it's a pandemic setup, the players are still
playing at the best that they can.

Though it's still better to see Lakers with LeBron to win another title, and with how they are forming the team right now.

There's always chances for anything and who knows AD will play healthy this coming season, still early to conclude if what
will be the fate if they will perform and have that chance to win a title.
567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: August 01, 2023, 12:04:23 PM
I don't think anyone here expected Donaire to lose, but it turns out the opposite happened. We thought Santiago would be a good match for Donaire's target to KO his opponent, but Santiago has matured and knows how to play the game well. He clearly knew how to beat Donaire, resulting in a unanimous decision win.

What can I say, I guess it's time for Donaire to hang up his gloves. He is already old, and it's evident he doesn't have the same activity he had in the past. To think that Santiago isn't even a top contender, and he still defeated Donaire via UD, that's enough to conclude his boxing journey is over.

Congratulations to Santiago! It was a good win for him, and now he is the champion.

It's just that Donaire can't pull the trigger anymore and yup nobody expected (at least we Filipinos) of this outcome. Santiago is ranked lower then in the minds of an ordinary fans, this fight is one that would make Donaire look good in the ring and once again break another record but turned out that this could be the end of his colorful career, nothing to be ashamed of and nothing else to prove so yeah, it's time to hang up the gloves for good.

Congrats to those who back Santiago, very juice odds.

Nobody surely saw that coming and we can somehow tell from the odds that most of the bettors were putting their money towards Donaire to win, which is very reasonable as how could we go against him against a boxer that is not yet making any name in the industry and haven't got a good fight. Well, after this, safe to say that his rankings will improve a lot because defeating Donaire is such a great achievement.

A great achievement, as he is now holding the belt and has that chance to unify it all. For sure, the value of his name was also
being hype and he can now earn more compared to his previous value.

Another plus factor is the name behind that win, Donaire even it's no longer in his prime, still a well-respected champ from this division.

Time to move on now. It's Santiagos' journey now while with Donaire. Chance, seeing him hanging his gloves, is his next possible decision.

There are, indeed, more losers than winners, as you so accurately put it. It's a harsh thing to swallow, but the house always wins in a casino. Those participating in a game typically face unfair odds. But what if we flip the script and view gambling not as a means of subsistence but as a pastime instead? One that has a cost, just like everything else? It's not unlike purchasing admission to a theater or concert

Yeah, the number of losers absolutely destroy the number of winners, over the entire existence of casinos. There's only a handful of people that have won against the casino, specially if you consider non-trivial sums of money.

And yeah, it can be seen as entertainment, but most entertainment has a fixed cost, or a maximum cost per hour, in a casino you can go crazy and lose all your life savings overnight.

Without control it's true that you can lose everything, a kind of gestures that you can't control when that aggression already dominating
you, gambling without limits is dangerous.

Thinking that you can win your target in a daily manner is really tough to achieve, in numbers you can say that it's achievable, but in reality,
the chance is slim.

There are many things that affect you when you are inside or when you are already playing, things that influence the outcome of your game.

Im a natural sceptic, I expect only average luck and if I receive more I dont expect more after that for some time.   I even play that way in Poker when perhaps you might make your own luck at least some of the time.
Expecting luck to come is the desire of every gambler, but when luck has come and expect more then what will come is no longer luck but bad luck.
Luck comes regardless of when the time comes and every gambler cannot create their own luck.
Believing in what has been produced is better than believing that luck will come back at the same time.

Knowing how to play with that kind of opportunities that open up, I mean taking advantage of luck that comes up during your gambling
session will allow you to earn decent compensation.

You need to stop while you are still in positive, as knowing how gambling works, getting attached or engage that much will lead you to suffer.

It's your control that will let you earn both entertainment and some decent profit to enjoy.
570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 01, 2023, 10:30:58 AM
They are good but they can still be matched. The Suns last season was fresh and do not have chemistry. They should be better this year with all the talent they have. Giannis was injured in the playoffs. It could have been a different story if he stayed healthy in the post season. The Nuggets are strong but other teams are getting stronger as well. The competition is still very strong.

The Suns were the only team that were able to give good competition to the Nuggets, so I think you have a point that they are going to be even better next season. Although they lost CP3, he wasn't significant enough to the success of the Suns due to injury issues. However, having Bradley Beal on the team takes them to the next level. Let's just hope that the big 3 will be able to stay healthy throughout the season.

Well, let's see if the Phoenix Suns are now a "finals" type of team, because the last time I remember the Denver Nuggets told the media that their toughest opponent in the 2023 playoffs was the Minnesota Timberwolves, I really feel like it, they just need more team chemistry and add some depth with their roster. Honestly, I still doubt the Suns roster this year, even with the Bradley Beal acquisition. I'm not hating because they are desperate, but they kept building and finding that chemistry while the Nuggets are solidifying it, make it more way ahead of any teams in the NBA right now. I don't have any clue why they let Bruce Brown go away with a different team, but all I know is that the Denver Nuggets were trying to build a new dynasty. That trade they made just before they won the championship was the first step towards it.

With acquisition of Beal before the season start, they can build good chemistries with a given time frame of working together,
my doubt is the leadership when they are all inside the floor.

All 3 superstars are mostly wants to have the ball and control the offense, there's a need of stepping down with your usual type of game.

Both Booker and Beal need to find that way to adjust to how KD plays the game, if they can duplicate that support that the splash
bro provide for KD when he's still playing with them, that kind of chemistries is what the Suns need to bring success to the franchise.

No gambler will be able to make a net positive of $100 every day consistently. It's just math, probabilities.

Even doing it one day is extremely unlikely.

The "certain people" that can make money from gambling are the actual owners of the casino.
You're right. Getting to them will be very difficult, especially since they have a greater chance of losing than winning. They should have been able to realize it even before they started playing gambling so that it could become their goal in playing gambling. But "certain people," as you say, can earn money gambling, and "certain people" can even grow their business to a greater extent. Meanwhile, most people who often play gambling only lose.

"Most" and that's the very reason why we keep seeing a new casino to open up and trying to establish by means of any advertising
that will help them to bring gamblers onto their platforms.

There are more losers than those who can make something out of the house. It's reality and even you are just trying to win a small amount
coming from a huge bankroll, the chance still slim.

Better to enjoy instead of trying to make money, pay for your entertainment and quit don't look at it as a good
venue for sourcing additional income.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: July 31, 2023, 06:31:14 AM
By far the most scammed is ALT Coin. Still people are more interested in investing in these coins. While ALT coins are scams, there are some coins that are exceptions. I can only trust BNB for investment, I don't trust the rest of the coins that are out there. If there is any coin worth investing in for the long term after Bitcoin, it is BNB. Other coins are also good for investment but they are for short term for trading we can use ALT coins but for long term investment I will never choose other ALT coins.

He meant about altcoin and binance coin was also altcoin too. There's no different between binance coin and altcoin. I guess if you didn't get what OP meant above. you shall never investing in binance coin if you are not even trusting it.

It sounds really weird for me to see you said that above. BNB is altcoin.
And he also forgets that Ethereum is an altcoin too.
Anyways, it was acceptable that there are tons of shitcoins in the crypto market but to extend that we can't generalize them all as useless because some of them had a role to play like ETH and even Solana. We can't argue if someone would invest or not but the most important is that we are not investing worthless altcoins, especially those coins that are driven by hype to gain popularity and fame. We can't be careless in the sense that crypto space flooded with scam projects, yet there still some that are worth to trust.
Yeah, better to take time in doing your research before you ride with the project that you will going to support.
I think it's a personal decision making after you do your DYOR.

There are alt projects that still have that potential, though we can agree that the majority of the project inside are just
created to make a pump and dump and then die, eventually.

That are the kinds of projects that you needed to avoid, whatever coin/s to pick for your investment, just do your diligence
to DYOR and trust your understanding.

574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 30, 2023, 10:13:30 PM
NBA sent a memo regarding the Damian trade request and they basically said it's open season and he can't just pick a team to go to. He wants only Miami but the NBA said that any team is free to send offers and that means it is going to be a bit weird going forward. After all a player has a right not to play anywhere they want but that doesn't mean that he can pick just a single team with an expectation to actually go there. If that were to happen then it means teams would have to pay insane amount of money to players and then send them wherever they want, which won't work.

So all in all, maybe there is a chance Dame goes somewhere else, he could still reject it if he wants to but usually teams trade whoever they want to wherever they want as we all know.

I don’t understand. Is there any problem with the player going to the team that he wants? And I just don’t understand why he cannot join the team that he wants if everything is agreed upon. What is the reason for them trying to deny him joining the team that he wants? I understand that some rules and regulations that must be followed. But when everything seems to be agreed upon, what is the problem?

If both sides already agree there's nothing that can avoid the trade to happen, in Lilard's case there's still no close deal with what
Miami is offering for the Blazers, trade ain't complete yet.

The statement from the NBA is regarding to what Lilard announces regarding with he only wants to play with Miami and nothing else.

But still depends on how Miami and Blazers will take this deal, else we might see Lilard playing to other teams
that Blazers will accept the offer.
575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 30, 2023, 09:37:33 PM
It is not a surprise to see Donaire loss the fight because he gotten impatient and wanted to impress the fans by knocking out Santiago which backfires to him.  Instead of taking advantage of his reach and movement he aims to KO his opponent and wanted to hit that 1 punch KO either through counter or lead punch forgetting jobs.  Santiago is also more active throwing jabs and punches outboxing Nonito Donaire.

It is somehow a disappointing performance from Nonito Donaire but it should be be expected due to the old age.  I also think that this is the sign that Nonito need to hand the gloves.  He already had proven himself and nothing more to prove.  He was a great boxer but I believe those time had already passed.

Indeed! Time to hang the gloves and give the ring to younger boxers. Enjoy his retirement with his family.
There are no news yet about his upcoming plans but I do believe his wife as well as his trainer, maybe is already thinking about retiring him.
Though I thought this fight would still be on Donaire's favor, however, Santiago really did a very good fight here upsetting Donaire.
Just like Pacquiao, Donaire was losing his power inside the ring. Just be grateful that he will retire in good shape and no other bad injury.

He can still be in this sport if he decides to retire, he already showing an interest in promoting and helping other fighters
it will be another good venue for him to focus if ever he decided to retire.

I do agree that maybe his wife as a manager will help him to decide for his future plans, we saw the match and the power
is no longer with him,

he manage to convert that left hook but Santiago manage to absorb the punch and was able to stand
and finished the match.
576  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin trading be my sole source of income? on: July 28, 2023, 09:19:39 PM
Before, i am thinking that bitcoin trading can really be my source of income. But as what happened to the bitcoin massive decline, many traders really loss a lot. So better to balance, have a job or business and still enjoy trading your bitcoin.
I think trading  is not enough to  just hold on because trading is risky and can never be predicted,  it is better to have a source of income than to depend on trading. Trading must be funded from earnings we get from other sources of income. Trading should never be the only source of get money expecially for beginners but an alternative way of getting money. Depending on trading will always result to panicking all the time but when their is another source of income it will reduce the rate of being panicking.
If it were easy we all would do it and everyone wants to make a living trading. And even though there are those who want to make a living from trading, you can be sure they are very smart and have a lot of experience and knowledge that is very supportive.
It would be ridiculous to think it was easy especially for beginners, if it was that easy we would all be leaving our jobs today if trading were truly a reliable source of income.
Of course, those who can give us income only by working or doing business, and trading can only be used as side income.

That mindsets are common to everyone, if trading is a safe venue to make money for a living for sure, most people, if not all
will venture into this business and will try their luck to achieve financial freedom.

But reality wise, there are many who lose a lot with that kind of mentality as they think they can just buy and earn not knowing the
actual concept of trading.

Always depends on how you will take your time in learning and keep yourself updated to execute good patterns that may give you
decent chances to earn money.
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: July 28, 2023, 08:18:27 PM

Let's accept the fact that gambling is truly addicting and makes us crave for more because that's the mechanics of gambling, we risk something and then we gain or lose. As what I am always telling people, we should always gamble responsibly because it involves MONEY. Know your limits, set boundaries, and if possible try to budget your money and only set a certain amount of money for gambling.
The only way we can gamble responsibly is when we believe or have the data of our gambling expenditures at hand or make a provision of money for gambling, losing is paramount in gambling and whosoever that is gambling should know what is gambling for and also have in mind that gambling can be fail at any point in time without hesitation, so therefore budget in gambling is necessary expect that you want to be gambling addict before you can refutes having gambling budget, I have seen that many people is against having budget in gambling

It is important to have that allocation and make sure that you are strict in handling your finances. It's true that gambling is
addicted without the right control of both your money and emotions.

The chance of losing lots of money is something that you needed to avoid, and by having that particular amount of money to use for
this activity can lessen the chance getting addicted and regret after.

You should have that control at any moment of time when you are dealing with gambling, else it's dangerous for you to continue.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 28, 2023, 08:00:21 PM

For the incident happen to Bronny provably many teams will avoid to take him since cardiac arrest is serious health case which teams can't risk to give him a contract sue to health issues. And it seems that we can't really see the most awaited father and son duo in Nba, maybe for this incident where Bronny is in serious troubles maybe we can see Lebron retires as his plan didn't come up and he don't have anything to prove anymore. Just want to see some miracle comes and there's still a chance for son of Lebron to have a good comeback and can still able to play good basketball together with his father or if not still land on Nba.

Let's not make it a big deal; instead, let's be positive. Let's trust the process the team will follow because he will not be included in the NBA draft if he doesn't pass the physical exam. What if what happened isn't that serious, or there's a cure for it?

Bronny has been anticipated to play in the NBA, although he isn't as good as his father. But with LeBron's influence, there's surely a team that will draft him. However, with what happened recently, some fans may be doubting his chance to make it to the NBA.

Yeah, it's a mix reaction for now, others are relieved to hear that he is out of danger and kudos to the staff who tend to him. On the other hand, I read some news that it might be the end of his career. However, I'm taking it with a grain of salt, perhaps just like crypto, it's full of FUD and negative news for click bait article.

In any case he is still capable of playing in the NBA, and if I'm not mistaken he has shown intention for a draft, so he might be in the next draft class and for sure there will be teams that are going to pick because afterall, he is still the of Lebron and they want to make history in the next couple of years, as the first father and son in the NBA.

Yes, these articles released about Bronny James's situation are not really helping at all because instead of bringing a positive and real news, they instead bring some doubts to the public about his future in the NBA just to gather some attentions from the crowd. A click bait article to be exact.

Furthermore, it is still too soon to have a conclusion towards his future in the NBA because almost everything are still unknown at this point, let's just be thankful first that he is now discharged from the hospital and is now resting towards his recovery. I guess it is safe to say that his future is still bright as the sun.

Those writers are taking this situation as an opportunity to earn the attention of the readers. They should respect the family first
before writing anything about Bronny.

That incident can cause him mental issue because we all know how he's desiring to reach the NBA and with this cardiac issue it might
limit him, but there should be no negative write up that trying to conclude his future.

He together with his whole family is the only one who can decide what's best for him and his career.

This is beyond our control pero super laki ng magiging epekto nito sa mundo especially now that we are fully dependent sa internet and almost ng mga transaction natin ay need ng internet. I'm sure matagal or malabo pa ito mangyari since we all know, professionals are still working for some improvements.

Cheesy

Roll Eyes

Successful professional gamblers are only available in sports betting and poker imo because knowledge and skills are required in these gambling type. If we talk about common gambling games where the result is purely based on luck, you will not find professional gamblers in this area. Maybe you can find some people who become rich instantly because of huge luck then they stopped gambling and spend the winning into other better investment.

Sports, poker, and other card games are forms of gambling that allow us to exercise control over whether to stop or raise the stakes based on our predictive analysis skills. However, this requires a balanced approach with a strong mental attitude to emulate the professionalism of expert gamblers. As time goes on, our brain may become affected, leading to moments of frustration and the temptation to go "All-In" during a losing streak.

Agree to that your appetite with your gambling activities may increase from time to time, and with desires and greed
the chance of losing a lot is really possible.

You need to have that strong will to continue handling the situation in a proper manner. Experienced gamblers have that capability
to control and manage the balance. Though not all can have this kind of characteristic, it came from hard practices and dedications.
