Now with regards to them winning the NBA Finals, they must climb the ladder first. Yes, they are 8-2 on their last 10 games but still they are now at the 12th spot, and nothing has changed. The good thing though is that the Lakers are only 2 games behind the 6th seeded Warriors, so every win is very important for the teams in the West because their standings are really close. Just look at the Jazz where they got the top spot but after losing consecutive games, they are now on the 9th seed.
As long as they will qualify for the playoffs, there's a huge chance that they'll win the championship. The Lakers are doing pretty well, great teams are beaten by the Lakers and they are very happy with each other, a happy coach, and happy players, that's the recipe for success. Though it's still too early to conclude I'm already seeing a great future for this roster. Too early to tell, but I have to agree. It seems like Westbrook embracing his new role is now finally clicking. He have to give up his scoring opportunity to help his team win, with extra efforts assisting, defending, and other hustle that can't be listed on the stat sheet. While AD has suddenly came back to life, when everyone thought he'd gradually slowdown and eventually become washed earlier than expected, but based on the games he have showed currently, it seems like he's becoming more improved than his last performances. Lakers fan suddenly came back to life. Nothing to say with how you are pointing the way both Davis and Westbrook impress the Lakers fans, the expectations from both of them are now being filled and they are really playing real game and not just for the stats. I like how coach Ham gives them the credit, though it's not just them and LeBron, but as a whole, Lakers team is really improving now they adjust with both defense and offense that giving them the win. KYC is not a way to prevent under-age gamblers, lets be honest with each other because they are asking it from everyone whereas it could be like maybe 5% of all gamblers that are underage, probably less. So that is not the main way to prevent it, and they will just go to places that doesn't ask KYC and it's over.
The real reason why under-age gambling is a problem is also the same as underage drinking, smoking, sex, and everything else. It is just not something you can prevent and that's the trouble. The west is too crowded with good teams. Probably only 3 to 4 teams do not have the potential of landing in the top 8. Sad to see the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers are losing most of their games now. There are still 70+ games for each team though, plenty of time but they better start showing and making necessary adjustments now.
Blazers and Jazz are now feeling the pressure of the real competition, especially on the west side. They needed the right adjustment to keep their campaign to move forward to the playoff. They are now losing most of their games and without the adjustment the chance of them not to reached the playoff is still possible, they need new sets of plays, system that may work with each player inside the court. The early strong start is now fading. They both need to bring the right spice to the system or if there's still possibilities to bring someone. Maybe that's also an option for both these franchises. |

You're right. The Jazz's performance has been really awful lately, considering they've only won 3 of their last 10 games. However, it's worth noting that the Jazz is still in 7th place in the Western Conference standings, and it means that if the Jazz's head coach finds a way to improve the performance of the players, the Jazz will still have a chance to reach the playoffs since the end of the regular season is still a long way off. It was fools gold they were never destined to be a top team just had a hot start. They are stacking draft picks so I'm sure they like to see them end up in the lottery. This team going to the playoffs does nothing but ensure mediocrity. They gave up once they parted with gobert and spida. Safe to say that they just got lucky to be sitting at the top of the conference when almost every team in the league are still struggling and adjusting or taking their time while the season have just started. But now that teams are starting to get their sense, their rank dropped in just a week which is not that surprising because they are not that deep enough to compete with the heavy teams on the league. In time, when they reached the right depth and know each other's strengths and weakness, they will be a heavy time just like how the Boston Celtics started. If they will continue to develop these young talents and they will not be part of any trading actions, Jazz can be an interesting team to watch out, they are now falling from the standing since heavy favorite teams are now catching up. We know that once those super-teams start to improve their offensive and defensive attacks, the chance of winning is high, maybe for now Jazz chance to the playoff still alive, but in terms of reaching semis it might be tough for them, but who knows? |

I agree to that, Butler's punching power is not that heavy to bring Inoue down, unlike with Donaire before where Inoue was almost kissing the canvass, though we never know when luck come, maybe Butler will find that solid combination to bring Inoue down. We never looked down on Paul Butler but I also don't see he has that strong punch to take down Inoue if he was able to connect some good shots. Inoue is also used to receiving a different levels of punches and if we talk about Butler's punch, Inoue can surely handle it. It's also hard to connect some blows on Inoue as this guy is very quick and versatile. On the other hand, Butler is not even known for some special skills related to speed, quickness, strong punches, absorbing heavy body blows, and so on. Oftentimes, heavy punchers have high resistance to the same amount of punching power. So it is somehow scientific to say that Butler's punching power will almost not affect Inoue because Inoue having the heavier hitter possibly possessed high durability and resistance against weaker punching power opponents. We can testify to it in his fight against Donaire. Even though Inoue's face is somehow ruined in their first fight, Inoue has never been knockdown by the hard-hitting Donaire. The reason behind this is, Inoue is a harder puncher thus his durability would be better. Not just often times, heavy hitters are always got better chances to survive the fight and I think we can already say that it is already a fact. The comment above was right, Lakers problem is when LeBron try to take over and hold the ball, his teammates are all waiting for him to call the play and will end up throwing a force shot, unlike when he's not around, all the guards are aggressive, and they are finding an open man to take the shots. Why it became a problem when in the first place, that was Lebron's way of playing? The whole team just become sucks at the end and it's not right to blame their loss on one player. That was a 17-point lead and if you are talking about Lebron's way of holding the ball then that's the offense side. The problem with why they lost against the Pacers and blew that lead is a lack of defense while at the same time, the Pacers are really draining those shots even with a proper defense by the Lakers. That was a tough loss and was supposed to be 3rd winning streak for the Lakers. The Pacers just give their best and they should be the topic here, not the Lakers. Yes, he is good at the offensive side but the question is, does the team really need his offense in-exchange to be so bad at defense? The team is also doing everything they can, but it seems that Lebron is just a stumbling block that gives them struggles to properly do their posts. At the Pacer's game, I bet you saw that there were so many times that Lebron could've block that shot or at least give them struggles when they are trying to shoot the ball but no, he is already old to be aggressive again. Before and after I created this thread, my prediction was always Tank Davis will win because he is the better boxer and the tougher man. However, when I was looking at King Ryan's record more closely, I think he has made the much needed preparations to give him a better than expected chance to win. King Ry has very much prepared himself to fight a 5'6" left handed boxer by fighting 2 left handed boxers in his last 3 fights. The last opponent is Javier Fortuna, he is short and can knockout anyone, having much similarities to Tank. I would laugh at King Ry's bettors last week, however, we cannot laugh if we have studied his preparation more.
Both are great boxers, some fans just don't like Ryan Garcia because he talks so much, but looking at his resume, he can certainly beat anyone as he has the power and speed and the height which is his advantage against Tank Davis. We have our own prediction though, but I'm pretty sure this is going to be a close fight so let's continue predicting and don't forget to bet once the bookies are ready to accommodate us bettors. If there's a poll in this thread, I would appreciate it.  please OP hear me out. I would definitely vote for Ryan Garcia, I love the underdog of this fight, it doesn't matter to me if he talks so much because I'm always satisfied with his performance in the ring everytime he has some action. This is probably the first time where he is listed as an underdog, so might as well take that opportunity. If you are a fan and you see good opportunity for Garcia then it will be very decent odd if you will bet for him, I understand that it will be his first time being an underdog since he's going to face a real champ here. A big test for him and if he upset Davis that will bring a good hype to his name and his career, we might see closer fist exchanging of punches from time to time. Both are aggressive and really wanted to knock down their opponent, execution of plan strategy will bring the fighter the win. |

Big 4th quarter by the Clippers, they beat the home team (Blazers) with their run in the 4th quarter, 36-17, what a run. Now, it seemed like the number 1 and 2 team before in the West which are the Jazz and Blazers are struggling, they can't maintain their ranking as they are losing some games, especially the Jazz who are in a losing streak.
It's really hard to maintain at the top especially when you don't have enough players to take responsibility because star players also can feel tired and they need to rest well especially after putting on some show to win more games than usual. It's just another bad day for the Blazers because they weren't strong enough to stop the counter of Clippers throughout the game and they lose but they still doing good because both Jazz and Blazers are still in the playoff tree. Blazers still does not have Lillard, what do you expect? Even if Simons and Grant will drop 30 points each night, it's still not enough if they don't have their best player. At least the Blazers are playing their best, they were able to win some games and they are not at the bottom. Right now they are at top 7 with 11-10 record, still above .500 They are playing all the best that they can, but in the final quarter the eagerness of Clippers to win is the one that dominates. I agree that even Grant and Simon put on those huge numbers, but without Lilard, the chance of winning is slim. We might see them win some games but in a tough competitions chances of losing are not by far, let's wait for Lilard to return and see what fate Blazers have this season. Still above .500 means that still good to move forward for the next round. |
