561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Nodes, wallet question. on: November 08, 2023, 08:43:33 PM
Another thing I encountered that caught my curiosity was this discussion I saw on bitcoin.stackexchange.com (recommended in my previous thread) Concerning the number of public keys that a single private key can generate
Any public key and Any address can be generated by 2^96 private keys on average.

What is the distinction between "private key, secret phrase, public key, and public address"? I tried researching it and still couldn't make sense of it, so I'd appreciate it if someone could explain it to me in a simpler way.
To receive fund, you need to have a bitcoin address and give it to anyone who wants to send you bitcoin.
You need the private key associated with your address for unlocking the fund you receive.

A private key generates a public key and the public key generates your address.
Usually, you don't need to know your public key at all.

Instead of having a single private key and a single address, you can use a HD wallet and generate a seed phrase.
A Seed phrase is a series of words. It usually contains 12 or 24 words and it's also called a recovery phrase or mnemonic phrase.
With using a HD wallet, you can have numerous addresses all generated from a single seed phrase.
562  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Child Pays for Parent Failing on: November 08, 2023, 08:22:54 PM
I have 2 transactions, and I think I sent one, and the other one I might be a receiver.
It shouldn't be difficult to know whether you are the sender or the receiver. If the transaction is adding to your balance, you are the receiver and if it's deceasing your balance you are the sender.

If you are the sender and your transaction has been flagged as RBF, you can bump the fee.
If you are the receiver, you can use CPFP.

If the size of your unconfirmed transaction is less than 500 bytes, its fee rate is at least 10 sat/byte and it doesn't have any unconfirmed parent, you can submit your transaction to ViaBTC free accelerator. If you do so, your transaction will be included in the next block mined by them. They have around 10% of the total hash rate and it's estimated that they mine 1 block in every 100 minutes.

Can you share the transaction IDs? (Note that with doing so, you may harm your privacy. So, don't do that, if you worry about your privacy)
563  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Child Pays for Parent Failing on: November 08, 2023, 08:03:58 PM
Since you are doing CPFP and not RBF, I assume you are the receiver of an unconfirmed transaction. Am I right?

In CPFP method, you spend the fund you received in the unconfirmed transaction in a new transaction with high fee, so miners include both transactions (the unconfirmed parent and the child) in the same block.

The problem is now the value of unconfirmed output you are trying to spend is too low and that's not enough for paying the transaction fee.

What should I do in this situation?
You can send new fund to your wallet and use that for CPFP, but it seems that the value of the fund you have received is too low and it's not worth to do CPFP.

564  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 3 Days but have no 1st confirmation on: November 08, 2023, 06:48:38 PM
if you use ViaBTC free accelerator, your tx can only be mined by ViaBTC and you have to wait for the next time they mine a block, and that's if you meet all the requirements of fee rate and tx size and also if you fall under the 100 tx's for that hour.
It may worth mentioning that in addition to the maximum size of 500 bytes and the minimum fee rate of 10 sat/byte, there's another requirement that must be met, so that you can use their free service.
They don't accelerate a transaction freely, if it has unconfirmed parent.

It is possible to know if that account he sended the btc to its Metamask wallet or a exchange wallet ?
Metamask is not a bitcoin wallet. So, that's not Metamask.

Exchanges usually move the fund to their hot wallet from user's deposit address after someone makes a deposit. Since the fund has not been moved yet, I don't think the address belongs to an exchange.
It's more likely that the address belongs to the scammer's personal wallet and he/she has full control over that.

if I did the math correctly it is about $2 for a $5 tx  Sad that is a lot
As I said in my previous post, the transaction fee doesn't depend on the value of tokens you send.
If you are going to make a transaction sending only $5 worth of tokens, you are right as the transaction fee would be more than 40% of the value of the tokens you are going to send.
567  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 3 Days but have no 1st confirmation on: November 08, 2023, 09:13:57 AM
I don’t think this will workout that much
I have used ViaBTC free accelerator many times and I can confirm that it works.

if we check the viabtc they only accept 100 transactions for free acceleration
They accept 100 transactions per hour for free acceleration.

The best way is to be patient or just bump the fee a little
I expect OP's transaction to be confirmed soon normally, but there is no harm if he/she submit his/her transaction to ViaBTC free accelerator, as it definitely increases the chance of getting confirmation.
568  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 3 Days but have no 1st confirmation on: November 08, 2023, 08:53:45 AM
My transaction is having Weight ‎561 WU so is this ok for copying and pasting here ?
Yes, you can use free ViaBTC free accelerator. Your transaction virtual size is around 140 vbyte and its size must be less than the maximum size of 500 bytes.

If you submit your transaction to ViaBTC accelerator, they will include your transaction in the next block they will mine.
They have around 10% of the total hash power and it's estimated that they mine 1 block in every 100 minutes.
569  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The mom of my friend got scammed 7.3k$ from coinbase usin an app like teamviewer on: November 08, 2023, 08:19:34 AM
OP's story doesn't make complete sense. It sounds like a scam of sorts really did happen but I don't know how he determined that bc1qq0ah... is the scammer's address as the funds were sent to 18 different addresses.
The transaction in question sounds like a withdrawal from a custodial service.
Custodial services usually process multiple withdrawals in a single transaction and that can be why there are 18 receiving addresses.

Is there anyway to understand where all those money gone ?
As I said in my previous post, there is no outgoing transaction made from the address in question and the fund is still there.

I thought that I would be credited the spins every day, right?
If you hold at least 2500 FUN tokens, you should get WOF spin every day.

You can go to "premium" tab and scroll down to see the table displaying number of spins you should receive per day according to number of FUN tokens you hold and the number of days you have held them.

Or... where do I find them?
You should see a message saying "You have  x FREE WOF SPINS. Play them here!" on "Free BTC" tab.

The victim's fund was sent to bc1qq0aheutystzzw4vc0kn5fkuvnp54ju3yckpmww. Am I getting you correctly?
If so, there is no outgoing transaction from that that address at all. The address has received 0.08949505 (which is around $3,100 worth of bitcoin, not $7,300) in the transaction in question and 0.20808782 in total, but hasn't spent any fund.
572  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: November 07, 2023, 10:39:15 PM
can someone tell me how much for example a $5 transaction in FUN cost?
If you want to make a FUN transaction from your wallet, around 50,000 unit of gas is required. Currently, the required gas price is around 25 Gwei and you should pay around 0.00125 ETH. The required fee rate may change over time.
Note that the fee must be paid in ETH and the it doesn't depend on the amount you send.

If you want to make a withdrawal from freebitco, the current fee is 1398 FUN. If you want to make a withdrawal from an exchange, the withdrawal fee varies from exchange to exchange.
If you want to purchase FUN tokens on freebitco, note that the sell price is around 13.3% lower than the buy price and you lose 13.3% of your money, once you buy FUN tokens.
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening with Bitcoin transaction fees? on: November 07, 2023, 07:36:22 PM
Well, if the mempool is congested like it is now, will it take longer to mine the block too ?
No. The average time it takes to mine blocks depends on the difficulty and the the total hash power of miners. The number of transactions in the mempool has nothing to do with the block time.
It may worth mentioning that, the average block time is always approximately 10 minutes on average and the difficulty is adjusted every 2016 blocks to keep the average block time close to 10 minutes.
574  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What do you think about trust wallet? on: November 07, 2023, 09:10:30 AM
maybe I'm interested in this mempool.space, for web 1 again I don't understand how to use it, is there another thread that discusses about this Johoe's website sir?
Using mempool.space is so easy.
If you are in hurry, use the fee rate they display for high priority.

Just take note that the fee rate displayed on mempool.space or any other website are just estimations. The required fee rate may increase once you broadcast your transaction and it takes a long time to be confirmed.

I recommend you to avoid trust wallet and use a wallet which supports RBF. In this way, you can increase the fee even after broadcasting the transaction easily.

Using jochen hoenicke's website is also easy.

Take a look at the following image. I just just took it from the website.

Acording to the image:
There are around 200 vMB of transactions paying at least 1 sat/vbyte and waiting for confirmation.
There are around 80 vMB of transactions paying at least 2 sat/vbyte and waiting for confirmation
..
..
..
There are around 1.4 vMB of transaction paying at least 50 sat/vbyte and waiting for confirmation.
There are only 0.78 VMB of transaction paying at least 60 sat/vbyteand waiting for confirmation.

Since miners prioritize transactions based on their fee rate and each block can contain up to 1 vMB of transactions, if I want my transaction to be confirmed fast, I should set the fee rate to at least 60 sat/vbyte.
Note that since more transaction will enter the mempool, there is no guarantee that 60 sat/byte will make my transacton in the ext block and I can set the fee rate to 70 sat/vbyte or even more to increase the chance of getting confirmation in the next block.

If I am not in a hurry, I can set the fee rate 12 sat/vbyte. That will put my transaction around 11.5 vMB from tip and since more and more transactons will enter the mempool, my transaction will take a long time to be confirmed.

I see sir, I think I'm the only one who feels awkward with trust wallets, what is CPFP sir is there a guide? i
CPFP means Child Pays for Parent.

Assume that I have received a transaction with a low fee and it's unconfirmed.
If I spend the unconfirmed output(s) received on that transaction in a new transaction with high fee, I can increase the chance of getting confirmation.

Take note that transaction can't be confirmed as long as they have unconfirmed parent. So, if the child is paying high fee, so that it's enough for both transactions (the unconfirmed parent and the child) to get confirmed, miners  will include both of them in the same block.

If you want to do CPFP, you can spend the fund received in an unconfirmed transaction with a high fee to your own address.

The post was edited to fix a typo. Thanks Pmalek for the correction.
575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck Transactions since Feb 18, 2023 and all solutions failed on: November 06, 2023, 11:24:28 PM
so this is the address of the scammer address bc1qergs08g635azsy6fnfggnpqs2hpme6k8vkzv0s right?
You are right.
The scammer replaced the transaction that had been made to you with a new one and the address which received the fund in the replacement transaction is probably owned by the scammer.

so how i can find the address that the scammer add to get the coins?
As stated by Bitcoin_Arena, the fund was moved between many other addresses to make tracing the fund difficult.

there is alot of transactions worth in total about 500k has the same condition so we need to get the final address that the scammer used
500,000 dollars?

576  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What do you think about trust wallet? on: November 06, 2023, 11:13:51 PM
I was going to send $20 in bitcoin about 0.00055 but the gas fee by default ask me for 72 sats/byte and that for 24 hours only dropped to 50-57 sats/byte on yesterday's day, about $2.8 for gas fee to day with amount That's it,
First, there is no gas fee in bitcoin. The gas is the term used for some altcoins like ethereum. In bitcoin, we have fee rate.
Second, the transaction fee has nothing to do with the amount of bitcoin you send.

two hours passed I tried to custom 5 sats/byte but it was slow and had not entered my bitcoin to the exchange.
The network is so congested now and you used a very low fee rate. Don't expect your transaction to be confirmed soon.

Please tell me today's normal gas fee for bitcoin? how do I get updates?
You can use mempool.space for fee estimation.
Or Johoe's website, if you want to analyze the mempool by yourself.

You got scammed.
The transaction you received was replaced by this transaction: 7b3f4a78671299347caac578fdc1bb4b137defc825268e16d334c6325142b4ec

Take note that there is no guarantee that an unconfirmed transaction will be finally confirmed and unless you completely trust the sender, you should never accept an unconfirmed transaction.
579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck Transactions since Feb 18, 2023 and all solutions failed on: November 06, 2023, 08:34:22 PM
Are you saying you can see your transaction on block explorers and it's shown as an unconfirmed transaction?

If you broadcasted a transaction on February 18, it's very unlikely that nodes still have your transaction in their mempool.
Of course, it's possible that someone rebroadcasted your transaction many times and made some nodes still have your transaction in their mempool.

Can you post your transaction ID? (Note that with sharing your transaction ID, you may harm your privacy)
580  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Withdraw to BTC Adresses started by 1 (Imperfect Information?) on: November 06, 2023, 05:44:53 PM
I highly doubt there's an exchange that support withdrawal to bech32 addresses, but not legacy addresses.

when you send funds to P2PKH based address which starts with 1, it automatically selects it while you chose segwit network.
There is no such thing as segwit network. We have only one bitcoin network.
If binance or any other exchanges say so, they are using wrong terms. We have segwit address, not segwit network.

but just to be more sure in order to avoid losing funds, reach out to the support of the exchange you are referring to or try out with a small amount that you don't care to lose.
As mentioned by OmegaStarScream above your post, in the unlikely event an exchange doesn't support withdrawal to legacy addresses, it should give you an error.
