581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: n00b thinkings (dont laugh) on: December 06, 2023, 11:26:18 AM
(hot wallets) when people getting hacked, how often is it because someone get access to their seed phrase? But if you don't back up your wallet. Can they still hack your wallet then? You got no seed phrase, so they cant take that way. right? Or....?

You seem to be thinking in just one way that is the hacker accessing the funds by hacking the seed phrase by attacking the backup(s). Yes, its one of the most common ways that people lose their funds to hackers but it's not the only way that is the difference here. Assume the device where the wallet is installed is prone to be attacked so the user's wallet safety can be compromised in many ways from clipboard malware to getting complete access to the device so they can execute whatever the hacket wants from a remote location.

So by not backing up you attain nothing but losing your chance to recover the funds if anything happens to the device where your wallet is installed.
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Include Or Always Include Gambling In Your New Year's Resolution on: December 04, 2023, 04:02:19 PM
If I am not wrong, I never took any resolutions regarding gambling in particular because I always have been in control of my gambling activities so it didn't affect me in any way but New Year resolutions generally don't last for weeks so better don't wait for the every new year to make any change if you intend to do.

Today is the day if you want to accomplish anything whether it's related to quitting something or trying something new and if possible make it as one of your resolutions for this year guys. Wink
583  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: December 03, 2023, 04:13:57 PM

I honestly don't see any advantage for people to use VPN in casinos, I say this for the following reason, let's suppose that Duelbits.com accepts citizens from all European countries, so a person who was born in France and lives in France starts using the casino Duelbits.com and uses a VPN with an IP address from Italy, this person thinks that this is having greater probability but some time later the casino asks this person to do kyc and that person does kyc, he hands over all the documents from France and passes on kyc, so you have a verified account but continue using a VPN with an Italian address. see that the casino already knows that he is a French citizen, he has already done KYC at the casino, so what would be the point of him continuing to use a VPN with an IP from a country he doesn't live there?

Let me explain, why users still prefer to mask the IP even though the end website here duelbits knows where you are and who you are.

First and foremost, to avoid all your logs with ISP because Duelbits knows who you are but you may not want your ISP to know you are gambling more on a particular site which can lead to possible physical threats.
584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC sent by mistake to localbitcoins wallet. How to recover? on: December 03, 2023, 02:10:03 PM
I have found a law firm in London  that specialises  in crypto and I will see what they would  advise.https://www.selachii.com/advice-for-victims-of-bitcoin-fraud.html
Goodluck with that buddy, though i am not too optimistic, but you have nothing to lose, except the cost of consulting this law firm i suppose. LocalBitcoins gave customers a 12 month withdrawal deadline which hasn't elapsed since they discontinued their service on 09/02/2023. But the problem now is, they say they no longer process incoming transactions, i don't know why they don't since they hold the keys to the addresses, they can 'easily' process the tx and make it available for withdrawal in your account since the withdrawal deadline hasn't elapsed.
They can but they won't that is the end of the story.

Because they mentioned clearly any incoming TX won't be credited to balance so legally they are on the right side.

Taking legal fights against them will exceed the actual lost amount so better take it as a lesson learned the hard way will be my advice to OP.
585  Other / Meta / Re: Has Bitcointalk lost it's appeal for projects to announce themselves on? on: December 03, 2023, 01:05:02 PM
What do you think is the reason? Has bitcointalk lost it's charm?

I don't think any project is actually willing to spend money for advertising altcoin projects, so they went with bounties and paying in their own tokens which means the advertisers will get nothing if the project doesn't succeed and after 2018 there is a better realization from investors to pick projects so they are not going to invest any money on a random project.

Also, projects choose other paths like exchange launchpads, using the reputation of big exchange names to raise funds and even it faded away years ago so the altcoin project will not create any attention unless it's influenced by a celebrity.
586  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bank stops all my payments to exchanges. Now what? on: December 03, 2023, 12:07:48 PM
First of all, it is within the rights of banks to deny payments for particular services especially if their central bank is not interested in adopting cryptocurrency in any way. What you can do is buy via p2p platforms but in smaller amounts, at first and everywhere you need to submit KYC so that process is the same with exchanges and p2p.

I would say try Paxful and click the offers from trusted verified vendors only which means only accounts with huge trading volume will be visible and they are good to go as far as I know.
587  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 02, 2023, 05:55:00 PM

But then I think it is even more important for such warnings or pages to be required for advertisement of CASINOS too.  They are in my opinion much more damaging than a Mixer.

Probably that will be the next step or even further complete signatures will be disabled in that way no more advertisements regarding illegal services, scams, etc.

But understand the difference here, casinos may turn out to be a scam and run away with all the users' money but with mixers what authorities paint is like to the most extreme, laundering the money from hacks also they might even come with the required evidences to shut down the similar services so as admin theymos is deciding between going all down or just the extra baggage. He chose the right way in my opinion but if we try him to push it too hard then as I said disabling the advertisement completely will be the solution.
588  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: December 02, 2023, 03:45:15 PM
Exclusive or not, it is still going to be bad idea to use VPN. I think somewhere I have read they do allow it but it has to be white listed IP and most importantly the country should be fine with gambling sites. Otherwise the player is doomed for sure.

Exclusive mean a dedicated IP bought for himself for privacy reason and you are right that casinos allows usage of VPN but it often used to abuse the bonuses so if someone wants to use VPN then they need to do it right way.

And if the country where the player reside restricts gambling then which itself a no situation so using VPN for that is like a bypass and will be considered as a violation.
589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: December 02, 2023, 01:27:18 PM
I don't know why the OP thinks drug addicts are much better than gambling addicts, but the truth is that they are both the worst.

Addiction is just bad and I accept it even if someone is addicted to studying it is going to affect his mental health but anyway what I tried to address is drug addiction is way dangerous so finding a reason to say it is better than gambling addiction doesn't seem right so tried to bring in the real life consequences of drug addiction which will give the clear picture to OP that he can't justify drug addiction is better.
590  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: December 02, 2023, 12:04:20 PM

I'm not even familiar with TOR, I'm using default connection from my ISP. I guess I need to use VPN to fix this which is the same as what I did in the past when similar issue happened.

I would advise not to use a VPN unless it's an exclusive IP and hasn't gotten in the hands of anyone yet because there are rules that one IP per account so if you use some VPN to resolve the issue and later your account maybe go through verification or even can be terminated if someone from the IP you used earlier accessed the site.
591  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: creating 2of2 multisig wallet on: December 02, 2023, 08:13:25 AM
However, you cannot sign transactions using those standard Electrum wallets.
You need to create separate cosigner MultiSig wallets from those seed phrases and the other's master public key.

Is it possible to create another set of addresses with an existing pair of seeds?

Here is the guide for creating a new 2 of 2 multi-signature wallet using Electrum: Create a pair of 2-of-2 wallets

OP, if both the wallets are installed on different devices then go ahead and create the multi-sig wallet using the same seeds but if both the seeds were stored in one device even once since it was created then it already beat the purpose of multi-signature so better create a new one.
592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Its A Gambling Joke But Reflects Bad Things About Gambling on: December 01, 2023, 08:57:55 PM
How about you do you have a gambling joke of your own or you've encountered that reflects the gambling experience of many, come share it here

"I Don't Play The Odds, I Play The Man."- Suits

It's not really a joke but a Metaphor that has meaning to it and I loved it whenever Harvey used it in the series.

We can't get offended for every conversation but if someone is that bad in their bankroll management then they need to change their gambling pattern before they go broke.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: December 01, 2023, 06:17:10 PM
I can argue that smoking has its own good effects, and so does marijuana and everything else you can add.

If you feel like want to gamble and you have the financial stability to lose money then gamble that is what we should insist on when someone says they want to gamble but saying it can improve the mood or what not is kind of deceiving, to be honest.
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CASHOUT OR NOT???? on: December 01, 2023, 03:33:02 PM

Honestly I want to leave the game, besides it's just 2 games left and the games are likely to play in my favor,

Just do what your instincts says, here we can see that you want to just take the profits you made and still it's a win for you so be happy with what you made and just enjoy watching the remaining matches as a fan, not a bettor. Or that's what my choice will be if I were put in this position.
595  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Mempool fees and Solutions on: December 01, 2023, 08:48:19 AM
Imagine we should pay 19sat/byte and TX size should be less than 500bytes
The minimum fee rate for being eligible to use their free accelerator is 10 sat/byte. That would be around 16-19 sat/vbyte depending on number of native segwit inputs and outputs.

My bad, Grammarly corrected vbyte into byte. Roll Eyes
and have to wait 6-12 hrs.
ViaBTC has around 11% of the total hash rate and it's estimated that they mine block 1 block in every ∼110 minutes on average.

I tried a couple of times to accelerate transactions and you are right they mine 13 blocks per 24 hours on an average

https://mempool.space/mining/pool/viabtc

But it doesn't mean that the transaction that is submitted for acceleration doesn't necessarily mean they will be included in the next block they mine, in those two times the TX was accelerated after 7-8 hrs after submission mean while they at least got 3-4 blocks mined already.
596  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Mempool fees and Solutions on: December 01, 2023, 07:06:45 AM

Pay 11 sats per byte not per v/byte--- at the moment this would never ever ever clear. other than using viabtc service and wait for via btc to hit a block look for your tx in it.

Viabtc free transaction is not worth, to be honest,

Imagine we should pay 19sat/byte and TX size should be less than 500bytes then we need to rush to submit txid before 100 queue gets filled which usually takes 90 secs in a situation like these and have to wait 6-12 hrs.

I would just pay the fee even if it's 40sat/vb and get my tx included in the next block.

If it goes crazy high then just halt it for a while.
597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: November 30, 2023, 09:35:16 PM

I have seen crack heads more than responsible with there cash, than gambling addicts, this is what make me to ask you guys this question, drug junks are more responsible than gamblers, I have seen a gambling addict who spend 200 grand in under one and half hour on gambling, I've never seen a crack head done such before, not even on drugs.

That's not true at all, probably they seem to like being responsible because they need that money to buy pot/cok or whatever drug they are using and without it, they will be pissed as hell so definitely drug addiction is far deeper than you think because it creates chemical reactions in your body by a foreign substance and once you get used to it, it's going to be a hell to turn it around.

I am not supporting gambling addiction in any way but let me remind you that you need to know the actual consequences of substance abuse then your perspective will change for sure.
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Please Help! Unconfirmed BTC TX on: November 30, 2023, 07:21:20 PM
Well I originally had the Bitcoin sent to my coinbase app not the wallet and then later on attempted to connect the two but still having difficulties doing so so I only see the pending transaction in the coinbase app but not in the wallet if that makes sense..

Coinbase wallet and exchange are two different accounts so if you are receiving funds to your exchange's bitcoin address then it will be only shown there.

If I am not wrong, I already replied to you about why you can't use free TX acceleration on another thread.

The positive thing is the Mempool has been clearing for the past couple of days, so if it goes at this rate then your TX will be confirmed in a week (max). Next time make sure that you have possession of one end to avoid getting trapped like these.

599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using AI for betting predictions on: November 30, 2023, 05:18:53 PM
I have a developer who recently stumbled on multiple AI he uses for sport betting predictions, he uses it to generate sport bettings but none of the bets gets to be accurate as it generates tens of games. but when used to generate a much lesser number of games the predictions are sometimes  correct, at least 3 in 10 predictions of "multiple" bets.

But he loves having 30+ games "multiple" bet to win big amount and so far it has been a challenge in the last 5-6 weeks as his winnings have drastically dropped.

Should AI be relied on for sport betting predictions?

AI can't predict the future or at least until now and also the general AI engines will not give you any predictions if I am not wrong.

Hypothetically, if you ask the tool to pick one of two provided options then the possibility of the desired outcome is 1/2, so there is no wonder if few bets came as predicted and it does matter only if all the predictions come true but irl that day never comes.
600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: November 30, 2023, 03:11:13 PM
I believe that sports betting has become more popular here in the forum since most gambling sites, our reputable gambling sites are already sports betting on the menu. So, out of curiosity ( don't want to assume), what are the reasons why you fall in love with sports betting?
Sports betting has been part of gambling forever so it is no wonder that casinos integrated their platforms with sports betting features so that they could reach the widest possible customer base.

Sport betting is something that you can expect to have higher win ratio but the rewards are not going to be that big for the obvious results game that is the catch and generally everyone attach themselves with a sport so they likely to attack themselves with sport betting as well is possible.
