It could be.. Word is BCCI considering mini IPL. Not sure how to react as COVID-19 situation is not good right now.
I read some news about India and it did not look good to me. The country is over populated and not everyone is willing to stay at home especially those who do not have any food at home. This is really not good for the country and in this situation I do not think any of the overseas players and their board will be taking risk to send their player in India unless this corona disappears fully from every corner of the word. Considering the fact that virus in all countries are on rising mode other than China so does not seems that eradication could happen overnight . It would take couple of months and BCCI does not have that luxury of time to hold it later half of the year when the other series of different countries would be fixed already . So most likely IPL would have to be cancelled unless something magic happens. Regardless of other sporting event scheduled later this year I think it is better to cancel everything untill there is a cure found for this deadly virus. Why risk anyone's life for the sake of just entertainment? Countries who have the best medical facilities are the one which are becoming crippled with this virus. The effect of this virus in third world countries would be devastating. |

Starsports is only broadcasting those matches in India and Indian viewers want to see matches that were won by the Indian team. There broadcast is not mean for international viewers but for the domestic viewers. I do not see anything wrong in it.
I am in Pakistan and i am also a viewer of Star Sports. So why they only show matches where India win. I would like to see thrilling matches regardless of who win ? If they think that only Indian viewers see star sports, then they are wrong. Does government of Pakistan allow broadcast of Indian content? Cause in India it is termed illegal to broadcast Pakistani content. As per my knowledge it is also illegal to broadcast Indian content in Pakistan as there is a ban by the Pakistani government from 2018. So whatever you are watching on star sports is meant for Indian viewers not Pakistani. |

Keeping a track of your expenses is always a good idea but you cannot call it as an investment. It is an expense wherein you lose more and gain less. It is always a good idea to keep a track of the amount you have spent in gambling. I do not do it as I am not into gambling full time. I gamble once or twice in a month and now days I do not feel like doing it because of the present situation. |

Boredom can push a person to a variety of things, and if you are addicted then this is real torture. Your brain will completely fool you and make you take a chance.
There are many ways to kill boredom. I am sure most of us are getting bored sitting in our house with nothing to do. That does not mean we spend all our time gambling. We should treat gambling as a mean of entertainment like watching a movie or playing on our gaming console. If we do not treat it as an entertainment then we will get addicted to it. |

Only Thiem is saving this from being a complete disaster. Overall a total loss of 1012.60 Euro with a -2.2% yield (tbf Anderson and Del Potro had injury-plagued seasons). What springs out, is that all players, that were eliminated from Top10 during last season (Isner, del Potro, Nishikori, Anderson, Cilic) are 30+ years of age. I noticed that cricinfo is only showing old matches in which India had played and India had Won ... Oh Common...There are other good matches too in the history of ODI's. Suddenly few YouTube channels have popped up wherein they are also broadcasting old IPL matches and Indian matches where India has won. I guess they are cashing into the demand of cricket crazy nation under lockdown. You mean they are showing full 20 overs or 50 overs matches and not only the highlights ? But i don't blame Players and they are not alone, English players too having same sentiments about the IPL. It makes sense as in most cases IPL contract are way bigger than their yearly contracts (Board contract). Yeah the virus doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon as cases continue to grow daily around 80k+ however they don't seem to be growing as much in Asia so there could be a possibility we see a mini IPL tournament played. India seem to have done well to control the spread of the virus so maybe it could be played in a region where there are no cases? I'm sure that they will make a lot of money just from TV rights alone. I doubt now that IPL will happen this year. The virus has started spreading in India at an alarming rate now, daily there are 100 plus cases that are being reported. The situation after the Delhi incident has gone pretty bad. Still the fatality rate are low but in no time that will also increase. Forget about IPL and other sports untill a vaccine is out. Indian government might extend the lockdown. Pretty much messed up situation for now. |

With all due respect, You don't need to play victim card for starters. BCCI didn't attack the SriLankan team in pakistan, Taliban did! that's why Pakistan didn't get the hosting rights and ICC kicked them out because no team wanted to tour Pakistan and if you want to blame India for this then you are free to do so..
Who gets the WC rights or not? its not upto BCCI per se but ICC voting committee and bidding. I am all up for BCCI bashing anytime but i suggest please use better argument and keep emotions on check.
I agree with the last paragraph of your post. Let the hosting rights be decided on the basis of voting. In case Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh could make a joint bid, then they may get 3 assured votes (out of a total of 14?). If they could persuade Afghanistan by giving them the rights to host one or two games, then it gets to 4 out of 14. 4 more are needed and I don't think that it will be very difficult for them. They can get support from countries such as Ireland, if they are generous enough to allow a bilateral tour. There is a security issue in Afghanistan and the same is with Pakistan. These boards first need to convince other cricket playing nation that they are safe for their players before they decide to bid for a cricket tournament. |
