How about you open slots for members who wish to be interviewed to signify, and then the community can interview them?
I feel the thread will lose interactions if the members don't answer the questions they're asked. If you have a small group of willing members it'd be far better than a large group of indisposed ones.

Gambling is a child board under Economy > Marketplace. It is not under Bitcoin section, hence I think it's a general board and can not accommodate altcoins as well.
Edit: I stand corrected

Also, give me some merit With your one line replies it's very unlikely anyone would be giving you any merits any time soon You wrote it yourself, It's like a reward system for posting valuable content not just content.
If you want to get merited you would have to give valuable and quality content that would be helpful to other members. Effort is key. Merits are relatively easy to get as long as you can put in the effort into joining conversations and genuinely want to make the forum a better place. One step at a time.

Am sure they would be elated when they log back in, as your merit took most of them up to Jr member rank and a couple have been inactive for weeks (probably have up)
Every member has his own unique way of awarding merits and I don't think there is a right or wrong way to do it.
Just to note, did you detect any pliagarism? And were they reported for the mods to take appropriate actions?

Nice. The Jr member demotion was actually a catalyst to spark dissatisfaction among those affected and it either made them discouraged and negative or motivated, and I for one decided to be motivated
I made a welcome message explaining my situation as I wanted to be very open this time around.
And it has paid off for me, not in your scale though which is truly remarkable, but I appreciate the little acknowledgement I have gained. And it sure is addictive, after the one, you want one more and then another. Always new mountains to climb. And I must confess I was getting a little demotivated and satisfied, buy your post couldn't come at a better time, time to saddle up. Congratulations on scaling yet another mountain.

With a market capitalization of over $111 billion, I doubt a transaction of a 100 bitcoin would have much of an effect on the value. But to keep it quiet buying over the counter is always an option. And whether or not the price would go up or down depends on the amount per bitcoin s/he gets per bitcoin. A low selling price could pull the value down and a high price could push it up. OP can try exchanges or if you're confident and experienced enough, you can go OTC. Most exchanges would require identity verification for large withdrawals.

I don't even know what "sharding" is, much less what that discussion is all about.
It's a concept I have come across in a couple of new ICOs and they claim it can solve the problem of scalability and improve throughput. Basically is shares the information of transaction in and only part of that information is available (a shard of it) to those involved in the consensus unread if storing all the information on the blocks this aims at lightening the load. It can't function of POW algorithm reason why members of the forum and ardent bitcoin enthusiast would have likely not heard about it.

I don't quite understand what you mean by a badge for those that can wear signature. It's either you can or you can't, and as per the new rules, any rank other than newbie can wear signature (this also includes copper member newbie who can wear signature and post images) And there are different ways of spamming, it's not a straight line, people can be clever when doing it and you won't be able to detect and same repetitive answers twisted over and again would lead to lead to a spam mega thread. An idea would be to close a thread automatically when the discussion has gone stale and unproductive as users rarely return to their threads. And I don't see why signature holders should be highlighted, ANY user spamming the forum is at fault, some are paid to bump threads without needing to wear signatures. Report posts or comment you think is unhelpful or redundant and moderators would look into it, that's how we can put our hands together and maintain the standard of the forum.

Just noticed subtle adjustments made to the links on the forums' dashboard. Donations link has been removed and merged with copper membership purchasing (how to buy) on a new link, MORE; https://bitcointalk.org/more.phpIn addition to this I feel more helpful links can be added there in the near future to improve user experience. Looks good to me, what do you think?

How much do you use charts or information like this to predict the bitcoin market?
I'm sure they are used often, although with varying degrees of success. Reading chart is a learned skill that grows with experience. Some are more proficient in it than others. In addition to technical analysis, foundamental analysis is also helpful in predicting the market movements. It is if course a prediction, and when the next bull run would come may be too specific an information to deduce.

From your explanation, bitcoin can be likened to about every mineral resource which cannot be simply generated but resource has to be used to mine them and they have finite supply. About what would happen when all bitcoin are mined (as I doubt there's any chance the program would be adjusted). A limited supply, means increase in demand against supply and would be good for the value. You see how projects like BNB use reducing supply to increase the value. Miners would be compensated with transaction fees alone as there would be no more BTC reward. It is not going to happen in this generation, so I'd not be too bothered about it.

I have a fairly good command of the English language. And illegitimate could be used to refer to a dubious, illegal, against the law or spurious account. A better way to put it would be acknowledged, or overt alt accounts and covert ones.
|
|
|
I've just been re-reading the alt account threads here, and it occurred to me that it could be useful to include a reference to a master account in the profiles of legitimate alts.
There is no such thing as an illegitimate alt account as multiple accounts is allowed in the forum. And a rule breaker would be reprimanded irrespective of number of accounts. And users create alts for different reasons, one of which could be to separate your identity from an opinion you might have. And enter discussions incognito. You can always add a link to your primary account in your signature or personal text, if you deem it necessary. I don't even know what is ICQ,AIM,YIM? Maybe they were too much outdated for the current modern world.
They are out of date, but I think it shows the originality of the forum. And would give some a nostalgic feeling. A futuristic technology displaying out dated ones, how ideal.

While you were away, a new rank system was implemented. Jr members without a single merit were denoted back to newbie. That's why your ranked dropped, to return to Jr member you need at least one merit. And to do that you need to make it a habit to read, (it wouldn't have taken you long to see the post regarding the new rules) And this post is more suited for meta board.

That was a lengthy article, but very worthy read. And it is helpful to everyone not only beginners, who wants to fully wrap their head around the concept of the blockchain technology. Nice write-up

You don't get merits by thinking, 'how do I get merits?'. You should instead be thinking how do I contribute better to the forum? And how can I be more helpful? And the short answer is improving yourself, as you can only assist others if you have something to give. Read through the forum, and whenever someone has an inquiry you can easily help out as you have stocked up on knowledge. Do not spam and make posts repeatedly, just for the sake of getting merits. It is easy to spot when you are just playing to the gallery and giving the same repetitive answers in order to get approval. Have a good post history, not just one quality post in the midst of lots of spam. Form a habit of only joining the discussion when you have something relevant. Avoid spam mega threads. You can also take notes from members who have risen in rank without airdropped merits, by going through their post history you can pick up some helpful tips and clues. Be a part of the community and not just here for the benefits. Edit: A good place to start improving would be your topic styling; Some people like to put "tags" in the title within brackets. Like "[GLBSE] [ANNOUNCE] ASDF: Generic asset". I personally don't like this style. I prefer to include the tag info within the sentence, like "Announcing ASDF, a generic asset on GLBSE". When tags are really necessary, it may indicate that a new subforum should be created.
Try and correct that, and also read the entire thread by theymos to better get a hang of styling your topics. Including adding question marks when asking a question.

Originality could be of an idea, style, creation, piece (of art, music etc). It could as well be of an attitude and personality.
Original is gotten from the word origin, which means the source or beginning of something. To be a pace setter or pioneer. In simple terms, where it originates from. The degrees of uniqueness.
For a better view we should also consider what it means to be unoriginal or an imitation. An imitation is a copy of an earlier model or idea. To imitate is to follow the steps and act or make something in the semblance and inspired by another
Imitation is frowned upon when abused, such as pliagarism, and it would earn you a ban in this forum. But it can also be productive and show resourcefulness, like a fast-follower in business who quickly replicates a model which is working for someone else and utilize it for their own gain.
In the present era of social media and the internet which connects us all and exposes our lifes, edifying some and indignifying others, and presenting a certain model which all should aspire for, individual thought, opinion and attitude is slowly fading.
But, was there ever such a thing as true originality?
Trillions of humans have lived before us and billions are living in our era, each with ideas. So there is high probability that every facet of life has been touched and explored.
Of course we have had inventions attributed to people, technological and philosophical. But most of this has been attempted by people before hand with varying degrees of failures and success. Bitcoin developed by Satoshi Nakamoto is an example. Bitcoin was not the first attempt at inventing a decentralized digital currency, but it was the most successful. And he would be seen as hmthe pioneer, but his model was no doubt inspires to an extent by previous attempts.
Does that make the creation less original?
I think not. We are all influenced by external factors, what we see, hear, watch and even through sub conscious and unconscious auto suggestions
But, True originality is not an attempt to be different from others, or deviate from the norm. but rather to open up yourself to others without fear of standing out, and without shutting out the areas you feel people wouldn't want to see or appreciate and being selective in what area of your personality, or art or idea or invention to show for fear of rejection. And originality can not be forced.
True originality exists and always has for thousands of years, and is on its own now an imitation.

I use tokens when making transfers involving large sums. The conventional internet transfer is limited to small, everyday amounts. But for transfer of larger sums you'd need to obtain a token from your bank at a cost. And it generates codes for your different transfers.

Forum has anti spam bot.
The forum does not have an anti spam bot. The mods and admins to around and delete spam comments and also trash useless threads in the forum. They are also aided by members who can flag a post by reporting it and they take action (they are pretty efficient for you to think they're bots) That's also how the merit works, members and selected source go around and look for worthy and educative posts. I've seen bots do lots of things but designing such an EA would be very tasking. If you think your posts don't get noticed, then consider venturing to other boards and fully exploring the forum.

So pretty much member rank and you paid for it. At least full signature should be allowed The forum is not directly involved with bounty managers and do not decide whether a copper member gets paid and which rank they would hold. It's best you contact the bounty campaign directly Copper membership was introduced for those who couldn't wait the time needed to rank up (and now the one merit required) and need to break some of the restrictions on their account.
