5381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Woman Travels to 7 Different Countries in 12-Week.Challenge using only Crypto on: July 07, 2019, 04:37:10 PM
This is an adventurous way to check the extent on adoption of Bitcoin as a currency. Although due to it's high volatility, majority of people hold it for it's huge ability to grow and not as a means of exchange and hence they'd be less willing to spend their bitcoins as a means of payment for daily necessities.
This also shows that there are women in the cryptocurrency space.
5382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Cup Of Nations 2019 - Discussion Thread on: July 07, 2019, 02:14:54 PM
The Nigerian camo should not get too excited about having to play South Africa rather than Egypt. They should keep their feet firmly on the ground. The Madagascar upset is still fresh in the memory, and underrating SA would be a very costly mistake.

Organizers of the AFCON tournament would not be too happy about losing the host. But it is the drama and uncertainty that makes the game beautiful.
5383  Economy / Speculation / Re: it easy for bitcoin hit 1 million dollar without lies/bullshit -- sharp logic on: July 07, 2019, 08:12:30 AM
OP,you aren't saying anything new in this post.

The OP isn't trying to say anything new, and has been repeating the exact same content on various topics and now as a thread.

5384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff "Now all I have to do is HODL and when BTC Moons to 1 million....." on: July 07, 2019, 04:56:26 AM
I am very confused by what everyone is saying that bitcoin will be able to achieve such a high price.

I sense a hint of sarcasm in that post, and such a price is not feasible in the distant future. But is it a possibility? I would say yes. For Bitcoin to be a global currency and be used as reserve funds then it has to be valued Hugh enough to cater for the entire globe.
The supply is fixed, so that leaves only the price to grow.

Eventually everyone would want to own bitcoins, and there has to be enough value to go round.
5385  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fishing out scam projects PART 1 on: July 06, 2019, 07:05:55 PM
If you track their DOMAIN I'm sure they are build a month ago or like some that I track that they are built few weeks ago

There are many variations to scam projects, and most times they are not as easy to spot as checking the domain name. If an investor based his/her research off that, you'd get scammed a lot.
ICO os a very risky venture and is best avoided, or otherwise one can seek expert advice on potential projects to invest in, if they do not have sufficient technical knowledge to do their own research.
There has been many cases of top marketing agencies which pass projects to stringent audits, managing a scam project unwittingly.

Best way to fight scams; don't out your money into it and view every project as a scam until proven otherwise. Bitcoin and a couple of altcoins has proven that over the years.
5386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Copa América 2019 Discussion Thread & Prediction Pool (registration closed) on: July 05, 2019, 04:38:42 PM
It's Copa America, anything can happen mate

It's FOOTBALL, anything can happen, but bookies and majority of fans world wide would back Brazil to take it home. I do not think it would be comfortable by any means.
Argentina has another shot next year, but need an overhaul of the training crew to stand any chance, otherwise it would be more of the same.
5387  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful before investing in IEOs on: July 05, 2019, 04:26:33 PM
each ICO was great at that point.

This was a period of huge FOMO and projects struggled to get in line as there was no shortage of investors at that point. Projects had successful ICOs and some did well when listed, for a while, but so many of such projects has gone to the ground, as some didn't have an actual relevant product (just multiple imitations).
Investors are always charged to be careful when considering new projects and up starts.
And try to keep majority of your investments in top currencies (by market cap).
5388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uganda says cryptocurrency is risky on: July 05, 2019, 04:18:36 PM
Governments and banks saying, 'cryptocurrency is risky' could be interpreted as, 'we cannot control this currency'.
Bitcoin implementation gives asset holders complete control of their assets, taking away a major form of power from the governments.

Individuals should take the initiative and do their personal research. I have spoke to a number of people about Bitcoin and he cryptocurrency network, and majority of the already have a prejudiced view of it without any knowledge of the basics or how it really works.
5389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Makes Bitcoin Valuable? on: July 05, 2019, 04:12:49 PM
If there were such a thing as a 'Bitcoin University', Satoshi's white paper would be covered on day one

Bitcoins white paper unlike those of ICOs is not a comprehensive description of the network covering the basics, but an in-depth technical summary of how it functions, and beginners without any technical background would learn better taking the basics from books, videos, articles and of course this forum, before being able to understand the concept and visions on this network.
5390  Economy / Speculation / Re: !!! Q3 game is life, Quarter 3 prediction game !!! on: July 05, 2019, 02:38:21 PM
$15900
I have a hunch it'd go above that before then, and make a little correction.
5391  Other / Meta / Re: Why arent REPUTABLE signature campaign managers merit sources by default? on: July 05, 2019, 02:29:48 PM
The key word I think is INTEREST, the reputable campaign managers would have to be interested in becoming merit sources and make an application to that effect.
I can think of a few top managers who could fit in, but they'd have to be ready to take out their time to look for meritable posts across the various general boards while keeping up with a target.

All those who hold any position on the forum are viewed as volunteers, so making someone anything by default in unlikely.
5392  Economy / Speculation / Re: 3 Reasons Why Bitcoin Could Explode over 2019 on: July 05, 2019, 05:38:48 AM
On Bitcoin explosion, there are so many variations on how people view it. Some would say it has already, checking back ten years ago and now,  price value, adoption et all.
The next step would be taking it mainstream and that is already in motion with various projects already implemented and improvement proposals being considered.
This is a growth process, and if it does explode this year, there would be new targets next year.

University Men’s team won’t last long in this competition not even sure how they managed to make it so far. Zidane is back as the coach of Real Madrid can he win the trophy again?, or will Liverpool be able to defend it that’s what we should be discussing.

Football is quite an unpredictable game, and I wouldn't write them off just yet, there were lots of surprises in the UCL last season, could be replicated in the UEL. Also just qualifying for the tournament would be a huge achievement for the team.

Liverpool being just the second team to win it back to back, Zidane claiming his fourth? So much to look forward to.
5394  Economy / Gambling / Re: To convert or not to convert ❓ This is the Esportsbook’s question… on: July 04, 2019, 06:16:40 PM
It would be a positive for the adoption of cryptocurrency of industries hold Bitcoin as it is when it us giving in exchange for a service without directly converting to fiat.
Also the functionality of the website should be friendly to gamblers, and with the high volatility of Bitcoin (as well as other currencies) gamblers can easily lose out during conversion, in addition to fees incurred.
5395  Other / Meta / Re: Open appreciation, achievement of Hero rank on: July 04, 2019, 05:03:05 AM
We get enough of these posts, did you really need to brag about obtaining a forum rank?  If some of you merit hunters put that same type of effort into the real world you could already be millionaires.

This post does not come off as a brag, but rather an appreciation post, yes some people actively desire(hunt maybe) merits and put in effort in giving out quality content. It's always nice to see such effort appreciated.
There are different motives for being on this forum, and so long as you do not adversely affect the forum through your actions (scam or spam), it's okay.
Maybe they put in the effort in real life and maybe they are millionaires.

Congratulations on your new rank.
5396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin developers jump ship with the sudden high demand for Blockchain dev on: July 04, 2019, 04:55:12 AM
I do not believe the industry would suffer much from the loss of it's too developers. Firstly when you consider that this is a network that is billed to revolutionize the financial industry and by all means outlive us including the current developers then it can surely function without them.

Just need a consistent supply of skilled and devoted devs, and there is no shortage of that around the world.
5397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency In The Gambling Industry: All You Need To Know About Bitcoin on: July 04, 2019, 04:44:24 AM
with crypto they can gamble anywhere. crypto will become the future currency for gambling

Governments are equally aware of these fact, as cryptocurrency makes it difficult to track and monitor citizens through their finances. This would factor in as one of the reasons why governments are seeking to gain some form of control over the cryptocurrency industry to taxations and various forms of regulations.

Cryptocurrency would be the future global currency.
5398  Other / Meta / Re: Can we have a pop up icon recommending posts? on: July 03, 2019, 07:01:25 PM
I do not think such an option would require information from users (not any private information at least). Only post activity and data is needed to aggregate and select quality posts. It could also be toggled on and off, depending on a users specification.
5399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Cup Of Nations 2019 - Discussion Thread on: July 03, 2019, 06:58:46 PM
There has been quite a number of positives to take home from the tournament so far, importantly is the new season which allows players plying their trade outside the continent to not have to leave an active club session to represent their nation.
Also there are still as many (or maybe more) stars to look out for, and we have not been disappointed so far.
The AFCON and COMEBOL also present a variety of options for gamblers with a plethora a fixtures occurring almost daily.
5400  Other / Meta / Can we have a pop up icon recommending posts? on: July 03, 2019, 06:27:46 PM
I have come across cases of users choosing not to post in certain boards to avoid their posts getting buried under sea of new posts, and also users having to bump their posts repeatedly to keep it active.

Each section has had thousands of posts made and only a few are at the disposal of users, as it is painstaking to navigate through all the pages of posts made on a specific section. Can we have a pop up icon recommending quality posts for users as they scroll through the forum, the recommendations could be based on number of merits giving to the OP, and also subsequent comments under it.
It could also work for newer posts; if a post gets a certain number of merits (doesn't have to be too high) within a certain number of hours upon posting then it would be recommended to users on the forum.

This way, members can come across old, relevant posts, which otherwise they may not have been able to dig up, and also newer posts which may have slipped down below the first page.
The algorithm could be designed to randomly pick across all the boards, excluding boards ignored by the user and local boards (which are not the users locality).
