5821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach someone about Bitcoin on: May 14, 2016, 06:02:40 PM
Yes. That's why I mentioned that if he insisted to teach someone, then he should make a move of encouragement. Tell how BTC help him, why he enjoyed it, share some tricks and techniques on how to earn. As long as the intention is good and just want to help a friend or someone, then it's alright.

All the things that you know about bitcoin tell him/her. You don't need to hide everything and I think it will encourage him if he will hear that word "earn" . That with bitcoins you can earn crypto money that you can convert into real money.
But, practically we do not have time to explain all the things about bitcoin to any new people. We can elaborate some of the opportunities we can get from bitcoin and some of the advantages we can enjoy while using bitcoins systems. I guess these are somewhat enough to get anyone into bitcoins.
5822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 291.2409 BTC for a 0.0001 BTC transaction . on: May 13, 2016, 04:00:54 PM
I would guess BitClub decided to donate one half of the bounty to the Bitcoin Foundation to appease the Bitcoin community so as to not start an uprising against them and the other half they will keep to themselves. Maybe BitClub will spread some 45 Bitcoins among their shareholders and the remaining 100 coins will go to the owners' personal Bitcoin wallet  Wink
Wouldn't that mean that BitClub is now claiming the bitcoins, with their acts as it wouldn't be easy to retrieve back the bitcoins that were given away, even though there is still a chance that the 'real' owner of the coins would ask to get it back? It's going to be a huge blow on their pool's reputation I guess.
5823  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2016, 02:27:47 PM
ha ha ha! you can't get rich with Bitcoin anymore, keep dreaming.
We got rich with Bitcoin 2009-2013. After that all the peanut chasers came in.

You must be a pessimist about bitcoin's growth. When a bitcoiner believes bitcoin will reach $1 million per bitcoin, then he must be having some plan to benefit from that. So, nothing wrong in having some plan about how to accumulate more bitcoins to get richer.
5824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, why do we need to use Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2016, 02:00:08 PM
I don't 'need' to use Bitcoin in the sense that someone is forcing me to. We are living in a free world and the good thing is that there are alternatives to everything so we are not stuck using only one service forever. I like to use Bitcoin because it has more advantages than fiat or other digital money processors in certain situations involving sending money abroad or getting paid online for services rendered. I am not saying that Bitcoin is better than fiat in all areas that's far from true. But I need to give credit to Bitcoin when credit is due.
Yes, bitcoin is going to be an alternative way of using money. And we are all going to have some extra options for saving/spending our wealth. But, when considering the advantages of bitcoin, we are all going to forget using fiats and going to stick only with bitcoins forever in future.
5825  Other / Off-topic / Re: If i give you 10 BTC what will you do? on: May 13, 2016, 01:28:39 PM
I will use the bitcoin to buy some Etheruem and then buy into Slock DAO. After I have made some profits, I will give 10 bitcoin back.
Why  you are giving back.
If I  get 10  bitcoins, then I will immediately move that into cold storage and will be waiting for bitcoin's appreciation for years. For this, I will just follow Satoshi. He is watching his coins for more than six years. So I also....
5826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it a sin to gamble? on: May 13, 2016, 12:38:54 PM
It will be only sin if you are losing to much money with it and that is because there are still a lot of people that is addicted to it and can be bad for the most.
Because they even be poor of it and that is bad for the most people if they cant stop gambling.
Yes, and on his money, his wife and childrens have the right, and when he go to lose it on gambling then he deny his family from that right, so in this sense we can say that yes gambling is a sin, because denying someone right is a sin.
5827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS basically DESTROYED on: May 10, 2016, 08:32:04 PM
Bitcoin is basically destroyed now with 70% of the mining controlled by China, soon to be 98+%, and with Blockstream implementing their SegWit soft fork Trojan Horse so as Matonis admits can end up increasing the 21 million coins limit.

The entire ecosystem is headed for a clusterfuck.

I honestly believe this is the truth.  What is there to add ?

~CfA~
if bitcoin controlled by china, why dont we move to china?or at least we can consolidate with china, and ask them have a good control. bitcoin on china was very ood,but i dont think they try to control bitcoin, because i'm sure china know that bitcoin is cannot controlled.
The first thing is that bitcoin is really uncontrollable by any specific power and if any power want to involve in it  with full potential then it will be a great support to bitcoin, I will say that someone among the major power have to come forward to give strength to bitcoin.
5828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, why do we need to use Bitcoin? on: May 10, 2016, 08:18:45 PM
We need to use it because you can control your own money, no bank is involved in payments and the fees are also low.
Another fact is also that you can pay globally with it.
We need to move away from Fiat as these taxes are just too much to bear now. Bitcoins makes us save our money and also is an investment for many of us who don't want to pay taxes. If we use bitcoins, it can increase the number of transactions that take place in BTC and till bitcoin is not independent of fiat, we can see it becoming a new recognized currency.
5829  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is not the currency of the people and likely never will be on: May 10, 2016, 08:12:24 PM
I am people and I use Bitcoin to buy stuff and I earn Bitcoin, that I can either hodl or spend. To me it's indeed a people's currency. I don't understand your point, I guess...

It's a semantic misunderstanding. The dirt-poor use fiat, which is issued by banks. By your definition, that makes fiat the currency of the people.

Why are you here? Do you have Bitcoins? Do you have a problem with spending it? You can make it peoples money by simply using it, no matter what other people say. There are loads of people out there using Bitcoin. Join them!

Your posting makes no sense, but ok:

I am here at this Bitcoin forum because I am interested and I support Bitcoin as an alternative currency and, yes, I also use fiat.

Now: Why are YOU here? (This question should be addressed to the OP also)
And these 500 addresses are also from the people so it make non-sense by saying that bitcoin is not the currency of the people, it is up to us that we have to adopt it and after adoption it become our currency and we can use it on where we want to.
5830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not use USB sticks for long term storage! Its not safe! on: May 09, 2016, 02:19:40 PM
Why would you even consider using USB's for long term storage? I can't even hold on to my USB for more than 2 years because either they always break and malfunction (from dropping too frequent) or I lose them.
USB sticks are only good for not-so-major documents because they can easily be infected.
5831  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: May 09, 2016, 02:13:08 PM
saving money is better than investing.. cause if your investing your money is at risk, everything can happen.  you will end up being scammed

you are right, especially online investment is very risky too many scammers. but I do not agree if you just save without investing.
because you have to earn productive for your life needs. I myself will invest, but in the real world.
Some people just don't want to take any kind of risks in return for decent profits.

These people just keep their money in their savings account to earn an annual interest rate of 1 to 2% and that's it.

If you want to earn good money then you should not seek the help from the banks by saving your money into it, as interest that you will receive would be in peanuts, its better to save money in bitcoin at a moment.
Yes, the interest from the banks are only the peanuts with which we cannot support our family, for supporting them and for earning some good profit we have to choose bitcoin at the right time and after that we will find some other place.
5832  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: May 09, 2016, 02:04:10 PM
No!!!
People would never had love it then. Bitcoin is very popular as investment among many due to it's flexibility. It has very high potential and it's price is improving day by day.
You have to know the traders are not much here with bitcoin then other business owners and online earners and if they see the price as stable then they will love that currency and will keep their money as bitcoin for longer time.
If price is stable what is the use of holding bitcoin then? Instead people will use other currencies, it's popularity goes down.
Holding bitcoin is not the only phenomena with bitcoin, there are a lot of benefits and features of bitcoin and the price increase is only a minute benefit of bitcoin, when you get complete knowledge about bitcoin you will see that holding and price increase is not the only profits of bitcoin but there are a lot of other benefits also available for us.
5833  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2017 Year of the Bitcoin on: May 09, 2016, 01:54:43 PM
How so? I've heard the same multiple times for both 2015 and 2016.
you are right i also  heard the same multiple times for both 2015 and 2016.

2017 should be said year of the Bitcoin. This happens because of halving by 2016 will have an impact in 2017.

I wonder what will be the reaction of users if price doesn't rise at the time of halving and it will result in loosing faith in bitcoin and switch to some other product.
Who said that the price will not increase at the halving? It will definitely increase, the halving will bring a better future for the bitcoin and those who are saying that the price will not increase they are only spreading the rumors against bitcoin so as to support altcoins.
5834  Other / Off-topic / Re: How would you help with bitcoin? on: May 09, 2016, 01:47:49 PM
If you had a lot of money or Bitcoins how would you help Bitcoin/ Bitcoin community/Bitcoin awareness?
If we want to help bitcoin then we can do it without any money and bitcoin with us, we have to invite our friends and family members to the to adopt bitcoin, also suggest them to invite other people also, and so it will be established all over the world.
If we have a lot of money then we have to convert them into bitcoin and with that bitcoin we have to pay for any online thing which we want to buy, and have to send bitcoin if we want to send money to someone, so the regulation of bitcoin will be started.
5835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: May 07, 2016, 08:19:13 PM
Obviously! Gambling is an entertainment like many others.. I can't even think a life without sports betting Cheesy
Just my opinion
If you like it only for entertainment then obviously there will be other people also who will like to play sport betting for entertainment, not for earning, then why you bet money on it, you can play it for free also, for entertainment it do not need any spending of money.
5836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: May 07, 2016, 07:15:22 PM
Decide firmly that you will not gamble and then block the gambling sites. Try spending more time with family and friends. Use less internet and try to keep yourself busy with other thing like some new hobby or keeping yourself busy with work. Leaving anything's addiction is possible if you firmly decide to do so.
Using the internet less nowadays is not possible as now everything is on internet even the businesses are also shifted to internet, the best solution is that he should have to start some other method to earn money and have to play some other free games to entertained.
5837  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can not replace fiat on: May 07, 2016, 07:08:21 PM
Bitcoins will never replace anything because real money is and will
always be the number one paying method. it will never change
Yes, you are true for those people who do purchases on offline stores, fiat is more convenient currency to work with, they will not accept any other currency instead of their own paper money as with that they do not have to pay any transaction fee.
But I think a time will come when every thing will be changed to online system and people will do payment with their digital system then at that time it is the possibility that bitcoin will flourish and people will prefer it.
5838  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2016 Bitcoin Predictions on: May 06, 2016, 08:01:28 PM
I am not for sure that it will be a good year for Bitcoin because there are also a lot of people that is quite negative about the halving because it is not even rising now.
And that is bad for the future because people who already have Bitcoin wants to make profit fast which that is not possible now.
I think there are not a lot of people who are negative to bitcoin and halving, but they are only a few people who are supporting their alt coins, and they want to dump bitcoin with their negative speculations in order to give some support to their altcoin.
5839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin go to $500 on: May 06, 2016, 07:49:19 PM
Yes, Bitcoin smoothly goes to $ 500. Recently, the price was about $ 470, and then went to correction, I think it likely upward correction.
According to the latest news and events, I hope that Bitcoin will grow, and the price may grow even $ 500.

500 is the price that will be easily reach, just be patient waiting time. the possibility of mid or end of the month of May we could touch $500, because the price is not so far from the current price.

yeah, that price is easy to achieve, more people have fear that it will remain at $450 for longer but I will say that the price at that value will no for longer time and will sooner start to reach at $500, I think before the halving the price will easily cross $700.
Yes, it is true at the time when the halving will only a few weeks away, we will see the bitcoin price at about $700 and that will be reached not slowly from now but it will happen within the shortest time, and that time buyers will have no time to buy at low price .
5840  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stable, stable, stable! on: May 06, 2016, 07:39:29 PM
There is gonna be a day that the bitcoin will be stable its only the question when this will happen, maybe it will happen this year but I highly doubt it to be honest.

The price of bitcoin is already stable. If you look the price in the last 3 months, it is mainly in the $400 to $450.
No, we cannot called this the stability as during that three months the price gone up and down from $470 to $380 and that situation is not a stable situation, but anything can happen, it is also the possibility that the price start to increase and then do not come back.
