61  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Source close to potential investors: 3 companies bidding on Gox on: February 26, 2014, 04:09:27 PM

MtGox claims 1M users.  Lets pretend they are all 100% legit, fully verified, no throw aways or duplicates.  Lets also pretend 100% of them may use MtGox in the future.  That would be $300 per user which is an asinine valuation.  Cheaper to let MtGox die in bankruptcy and buy the customer list from the trustee.  Still I guess anything is possible.  Some people have deep pockets and a phobia of just holding their coins.

I agree in principle but not in principal Smiley

They will do it with OPM or a stock offering so they'll get it for free.

Here's how the negotiations are going to go:

"We'll give you nothing and take on the debt"
Mark says "But I need money to feed my cat!"
"OK, we'll give you nothing plus a million bucks to skip town"
Mark says "But I gained 30 kilos!"
"OK we'll give you nothing plus 2 million bucks to skip town"
DEAL!

Then they go to GOX.COM, spin off Tibane into oblivion, and take the customer list, so they don't have to hold the $367 million in the red balance sheet, and say "Sorry, any issues with Mt. Gox should be brought up with the old ownership... we had nothing to do with that"...

...and one last time, everyone gets GOXXXED for old time's sake.

Excellent analysis.
63  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox class action lawsuit? on: February 26, 2014, 03:43:08 PM
Maybe you could have him squat on all fours, and just tug your bitcoins out of his pecker?

Hang in there Mark!  The rabbit goes around the tree 6 times and through the hole...
66  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Support a Bailout for (MT)Gox.com on: February 26, 2014, 03:25:37 PM
To the OP, I think you may be confusing Mt. GOXXX with Silk Road, because clearly you're fuckin' high.
67  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hey Mark, hang in there buddy! on: February 26, 2014, 03:20:45 PM
Come back fatter and badder than ever!
68  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hey Mark, hang in there buddy! on: February 26, 2014, 03:06:35 PM
Stay strong buddy!  There are many more BTC for you to rip off when these dunces forget.
69  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the greatest lesson of MtGox? on: February 25, 2014, 08:53:17 PM
I would say the greatest lesson has to be the proper way to set up a Ponzi scheme.

Con Man = Confidence Man.  There are still morons on here whom still have confidence in MagicalGoXXX.
70  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hackers stole the whole bank, that's the worst situation in BTC on: February 25, 2014, 08:50:02 PM
Don't know about the state of funds in Gox but the purported info comes from a clearly fake document being released by a blogger with what looks like questionable motives. He says he has confirmed all the figures with multiple sources close to Gox. Well then how come for weeks no-one has known anything about what's going on in Gox?

The document is bullshit. And it was pushed by Coindesk in a flash.

Feel free to open Mt. Gox'es books, and share their cold wallet addresses for us to verify.
71  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Official Money Lost in Mt. GOX Thread on: February 25, 2014, 08:49:22 PM

We've all pulled out a little late before I think ;-)

Lolz tbh this thread above all other does need a little humour.

I got all my coins ripped off by a guy on here (Timo Willemsen - thanks asshole) I hired to build a website for me.  I forget how many exactly now but it was in the 30-50 BTC range.  NBD, only a few dozen thousand worth of coins :-)
72  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gox Report stating it is 50% solvent? Thoughts? on: February 25, 2014, 08:47:12 PM
After looking at things for a day, I'm sure the crisis document is fake.

I think Two-Bit-Idiot has not confirmed all the figures with multiple sources close to Gox as he says. He's now off spinning yarns about endless dark rabbit holes and such on his blog.

Whether it was faked in collusion with Gox or some external trouble-maker I don't know.

It would take 30 seconds for GoXXX to crack open their books and show everybody, and give out the cold wallet addresses to verify the coins are there.
73  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Community oversight of disaster recovery on: February 25, 2014, 08:45:40 PM
Best thing "Gox" could do at this moment...

I think the best thing Gox can do at the moment is to just go away. The quicker it goes the quicker Bitcoin can move on and hopefully climb back.

+1

5 BTC used for trading and friend lost 95 btc

Told him for ages to pull out, but he kept saying they where safer at gox :_(

Total lost among friends around 150 btc

We've all pulled out a little late before I think ;-)
75  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What I think of MtGox's disappearance and the media on: February 25, 2014, 08:44:44 PM
^^^ That right there.
76  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gox.com could come back if it was insured on: February 25, 2014, 08:43:18 PM
I wouldn't really call Gox a 'fly by night operation', but as insurance companies tend to do, they always try wrangle out of big payments.

I would.  They just, in fact, literally flew by night, moving from their main offices (because they were getting protested) to an undisclosed location.  Can't get more fly by night than literally flying by night.

Moving office isn't exactly packing up and disappearing... at least not yet  Cheesy.

Right.  And disappearing without packing up... what's that called?

Getting evicted because you can't afford to pay the rent?  Cheesy

Take my word for it, you still get your shit packed up, it's just not by you Smiley
77  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Official Money Lost in Mt. GOX Thread on: February 25, 2014, 08:42:45 PM
Where does answering a question with a question lead ?   Grin

Your coins have been lost since you deposited them.  That's where I was getting.

You asking how long your coins have been gone without specifying when you put them in prevented a specific answer.
78  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Who is the "WE" in the Mtgox (alleged) Crisis Strategy Draft? on: February 25, 2014, 08:35:46 PM
Nagle, if what you are suggesting had a shred of truth, they would come out and say what's going on, and show their books.

This is the same request that was made of them during the last few GOXXXINGS that they perpetrated.

People who aren't up to no good don't refuse to talk to anybody or release any info.  Look at BitStamp or others who let everybody know what was going on.

I honestly can't believe people are still buying this bullshit.
79  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the greatest lesson of MtGox? on: February 25, 2014, 08:33:54 PM
Minus the several major GOXXXINGS of all of their customers, they've been pretty reliable.
80  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Official Money Lost in Mt. GOX Thread on: February 25, 2014, 08:32:55 PM

You've lost all of your money on Gox, long ago.

How long ago ?

Depends, when did you deposit it? :-)
