601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: November 20, 2017, 05:24:56 PM
do somebody manage to mine with this device ? how profitable it is now ? if I place a order now when I will get my device ?

602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL Giant X10 brief introduction --first batch start delivery today 15th on: November 20, 2017, 04:57:02 PM
actually baikal could easily solve the mis-trust, frustration for the customers, and also future customers...

It doesn't matter... A year from now there will be a new batch of noobs on the forums looking to become millionaires buying money printing machines and no one will know about this, or they'll make justifications for it.

603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best equipment to mine Monero? on: November 20, 2017, 04:45:23 PM
I want to start mining Monero and I would like to know what is the best equipment available on the market?

The best equipment on the market for mining monero are hacked botnets.

604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Chinese Bitcoin Miners Explore Relocating Abroad Amid Fears of Crackdown on: November 20, 2017, 04:44:05 PM
I think if they have to relocate in other countries, mining may become more expensive as the salary of people is going to be more expensive and the electricity may cost more. Also they will have to pay for the new mining place and move everyhing which can cost a lot of money. But i don't know how they will be able to come back to China? Does the Bank in China are going to accept the transfer of the money to their account in China? It is going to be a big problem if everything is controlled by the government. The business of cryptocurrency maybe is going to be dead in China. Thoses companies have to think very well if the investment is going to be profitable and if they can profit of what they are going to earn.

They'll open a company and accounts in hong kong. Cash out to their HK accounts, then transfer from there to CN. A lot of HK banks don't want to deal with mainland chinese because so many are doing this and NOT doing any real business in HK. But, when you're talking about millions, it's easier to get approval and accounts opened.

"We are in discussion with partners in Los Angeles"

 ROFLMAOSC

Dude, Southern California is a HORRIBLE place to try to do cryptomining in - VERY high electric costs....

LA has a bunch of companies registered there and a lot of connected people... I suspect I know who their "partners" are, and their "partners" have mines located in Washington. If i'm right, one of their "partners" is a director in the bitcoin foundation.

I don't understand why you guys would expect any different? I mean come on, the logic is simple....

QUESTION: WHO WOULD SELL A MACHINE THAT PRINTS MONEY?
ANSWER: ONLY SOMEONE WHO CAN GET MORE MONEY FOR THE PRINTER THAN THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THE PRINTER CAN PRINT!

Stop giving your money to these bullshit companies AND THEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THEIR ACTIONS! Everyone keeps doing the same thing over and over and over expecting different results  Huh Huh Huh Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Come on, they haven't even delayed shipment yet! Just wait, they'll have 'customs problems' and mine on your machines for another 30-60 days before shipping out.

The last time I bought an ASIC was Avalon batch 2! Don't get me wrong, it's tempting. But after having experienced bAsic, BFL, etc... I know better... No matter how tempting it is, I know i'm going to end up getting fucked in the end. I (and some engineers) developed an X11 RTL we were trying to turn into a X11 ASIC back in 2014?? No investors wanted on board! It was a "stupid idea"!  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes -- Have to develop your own asic or stay out of the asic mining market -- but don't expect investors to invest.. They'll just waste your money having you fly all over the world for meetings that will inevitably be fruitless.

608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Next build should i go rx 580 or vega 64? Looking for long term on: November 20, 2017, 03:25:36 PM
It's a tough decision now that the RX570/RX580 prices are back down to "normal". Yes, the vega has a higher hashrate (about 1.75x on average of the RX570/RX580)..... But, at 3x the cost. You can buy 3x RX570/RX580 for the price of 1 Vega 64. But you also need to take into account the additional cost for the extra PCI-E slots you'll need. Even so, I think that the RX570/RX580 are the better buy at this point in time. Vega 64 price needs to drop by about 35-40% to make it the better choice.

Also, keep in mind, you can reduce the power consumption of the RX570/RX580 to be lower than that of the Vega 64. Depending on what you're mining, you can get the RX570/RX580 to be half the power consumption of the Vega 64. If you hit the bin lottery and tweak your cards well, even lower power consumption than the vega 64 (for 2 cards)! It should be possible to get 2x RX570's to be 1.25x hashrate, and 1x power at 0.70x cost of the Vega 64...

609  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: November 20, 2017, 02:37:38 AM

Is nicehash still a target for mass block withholding attacks?

Was thinking about buying some hashrate. Made a little test today with 0.075 BTC (on my own pool server). Should have returned around 0.1 BTC but ended up with only 0.025-ish BTC. Could have been the worst luck ever... But, given the history, i find it suspect.

610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin [VTC][ANN] Segwit Activated | ASIC Resistant Decentralized GPU Mining on: November 20, 2017, 01:58:22 AM

Is there a different difficulty calculation from the target on this coin?

I regularly find shares above the diff shown but never find a block. On other coins, anytime I find a share above the network difficulty it finds a block.

C-Cex, it's impossible to use public/trade API - it constantly asks for Captcha. Told about the problem in support ticket almost 2 months ago.

Yes, we limit it sometimes for maintenance. But most time it's ok. (works fine now).

Are you limiting it now? I can't get a single call on my server to return a valid result while I can pull up the api just fine in my browser. You seriously expect people to enter a captcha for scripts and code? Wtf? Why not just ban or rate limit?? I'm using a popular provider (AWS).

Btw, it's a cloudflare captcha request... Maybe you should change your cloudflare settings so it doesn't do this...

612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ACP]|ANARCHISTSPRIME |OFFICIAL|EST2015|SHA256+GROESTL|DIGISHIELD|DUEL ALGO on: November 18, 2017, 03:12:39 AM
Some questions have been asked about max coins and halving

Max coins to be mined are; 53,760,000 Acp

Digishield adjusts difficulty to 180 seconds independently of sha256d & myr-groestl. Meaning that each block when consistent hashpower is on the network will be 90 seconds
(block times target 90 seconds for the network, 180 seconds for each algo)

32 coins are generated per block until  block 840000
From then it will be reduced to 16
(then 8,4,2,0)

we are at block
207140 at time of writing

Basically, 600k blocks till a halving

1135049.42806663 Acp belong to this address which are non spendable ("burnt")
http://acp1.servep2p.com:3001/address/1111111111111111111114oLvT2
You can deduct these from total supply

Solo mining is very profitable at this stage for myr-groestl
here is a guide,I will make a video for this in the future. So people who are new to mining can get started

I must have missed this post so now I have updated my wallet. It is part of the change over to e-ledger?

Final decision is being made on rebranding or a new launch. Acp holders will gain free entry if it is a new launch, Regardless if its free airdrop to Acp holders or rebranding. Here is the ann thread, stay posted.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2404226.new

What would be gained by launching an entirely new coin? Why not just rebrand?

The name is pretty crappy, it's why I and probably many others have ignored this coin up to date.

Also, can you get the coin listed on an exchange that isn't total shit?
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: October 18, 2017, 01:58:16 PM

Lol, I guess I should thank the guys in slack for banning me. It caused me to lose faith in the project and sell my coins off.

614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: October 17, 2017, 05:33:42 PM

Be careful guys, there's a lot of troll action going on surrounding mona.co right now. People in slack trying to stifle any counter-view to get people in here to buy at ridiculous prices so they can dump tomorrow after news. With the amount of nonsensical pumpmania i'm seeing (whether real or controlled) the price will crash after tomorrow's pump.

I just got banned from the slack chat for suggesting this would occur. Which, is quite obviously, what will happen.

OK this concerns me a bit. Can you give some more info?

I got banned so I can't provide transcripts... But, I said something to the effect of "With everyone going crazy about what the price will be tomorrow and talking about how rich they'll be. I suspect there will be a massive dump after the news.". People started complaining to the moderators and asking me to be banned. Then, I was speaking with the moderators about the issue and they were suggesting I "tone it down". After, I didn't tone it down. I suggested that "If you want someone to pat your butt and tell you everything is going to be ok.. You should ask your mama.". I went on to say, we should set reasonable expectations, and with the way everyone is foaming at the mouth, no one is actually interested in monaco and they're only interested in making gains from trading the news. A few minutes later I was banned.

I just dumped all my MCO at a 44% gain, maybe I could have held and gotten better gains tomorrow.. But with all the bullshit I just experienced, I didn't want to risk it.

Crazily, I seemed to be the only person in the channel interested in the actual card (over the past 30 days or so). Everyone was fawning over 0.75% cashback, which isn't that much considering I get 1.8% with my AMEX. But, my AMEX credit line isn't large enough to handle my monthly mining bills. I'll just wait to see how it turns out before getting the MCO I need for the ruby card, or wait for some other project.

Damn, this type of censorship is something that really points to some fundamental flaws in the community of this coin. Your concerns should have been resolved logically and with good arguments, but instead you were just banned. Wish more people would realize this.

It's not really censorship because it's a private community. But it does show an unwillingness to hear any viewpoints that oppose what people WANT to believe.

Hello there, need help
i'm running yiimp pool and installed Verge with myr-groestl algo
Pool get's info from daemon's that reward size is 15,606 XVG instead of 1560 XVG.
How to fix it?

reward_mul 10
submitblock 1
txmessage 1
rpcencoding POS

^^ these are the settings you need to make XVG work. I finally got it working last night.

What algo? Miner? Not enough info for anyone helping You.

I want to keep that information private. Looking for someone who's familiar with C, wallets, and YIIMP stratum to help me work this out. There will be a lot of work going forward on mods (possibly a full time job).
