621  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Huge Russian mining center in Ethiopia on: January 07, 2024, 09:51:07 AM
In Russia, huge amounts of electricity are sold to China at very cheap prices, and a Russian company is building a data center in Ethiopia, where the civil war recently ended but the situation there is very difficult. In this data center, you can install 120,000 ASICs of 3.3 Kilowatt each, which will be a big investment.
According to the article, the mining center will be located in the Capital City Addis Ababa, which I believe did not experience the civil war. Besides, Russia is also engaged in some sort of war that we don't know when it will end.

If electricity is too cheap in Russia, what could be another reason that Russian companies building mining centers outside? Building a company outside of your own country is kind of expensive. As you mentioned, the civil war ended recently and the situation is difficult as well.

Ethiopia probably have cheap electricity as well because it's situated in the Nile basin. I did some research, and they have quite a number of hydroelectric power plants - https://www.gem.wiki/Category:Hydroelectric_power_plants_in_Ethiopia

in the article, they say
Quote
“100% of the data center’s electricity comes from renewable energy sources, specifically from the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, the largest hydropower project in Africa, with a capacity of 5.15 GW,”

Another factor could be the political climate in Russia and maybe the uncertainty towards crypto adoption. Russia is the kind of country that wakes up and bans whatever they want.

Too early to judge and besides, campaign managers choose users based on their past activity. For example, before the ban, I advertised for a bitcoin mixer, but that did not stop me from posting in the Gambling boards. Recently, when I joined a gambling signature campaign, my posting patterns in different boards all together haven't changed.

Most of the CMs of casino signature campaigns will look at your post history to determine if you are a regular gambling board poster, better still if you use those casinos in order to be enrolled.

When I also look at this graph, the posting patterns in terms of total number of posts per day in the forum seem similar

623  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin acceleration services - Fee comparison on: January 07, 2024, 07:48:27 AM
Ok, so you need to be more specific about it, I have been on f2pool for years so I don't know this, do they require a referral code? I opened the page in a clean browser but it seems the registration is free?
I think I now see two different transaction acceleration links

1. https://www.f2pool.com/pushtx
2. https://www.f2pool.com/user/tx-acc

Yeah, I registered an account, but for the first one, just below the box where you enter the signed raw transaction Hex, they require you to enter a referral code. Perhaps because the first one is a free transaction acceleration service?

I am seeing 0 sat/byte transactions getting included in the block confirmed by them
624  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex withdraw not possible, aammount too low? on: January 06, 2024, 10:52:46 PM
according to this ----> https://ln.bitfinex.com/ They support the Lightning Network and you can withdraw using (LN-BTC). Use a wallet that supports the Lightning Network and withdraw your currencies. I think the minimum withdrawal limits are $5 equivalent, so all you need is to deposit $4.5 or ask one of the members to send it to your account.
He was asking about the now defunct Bittrex not Bitfinex. Yep, the names sometimes confuse, but at least one of them is now out of the game so no more future regular name confusions  Cheesy
625  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin acceleration services - Fee comparison on: January 06, 2024, 10:40:10 PM
So it just seems as though Binance pool just happens to have its transaction acceleration fees are close to those of F2pool as possible.  I have a question regarding f2pool. How did you manage to get that much need referral code?

626  Other / Meta / Re: Old account revival on: January 06, 2024, 09:52:28 PM
Thanks for the help guys, guess my old account remains dead!
If you don't have access to any, only bitcoin address where you can sign a message from. Just write to them about why you can't sign a message too. A staked address is not a must but increases your chances of having the account recovered. What is a must is access to the original email address you used for registering.

They will also look at the IP logs of your account, before and after you lost access to it. That will be used to confirm that indeed your account changed hands.
627  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot - Crash with the lowest house edge on: January 06, 2024, 09:12:14 PM
Snipped

People like you will always exist, but we may not really have to consider anything from someone like you as being important, even prominent Members of the forum can attestify to how moneypot has being so unique to use all their services for our best gambling experience, one bad egg of you among many other good ones could make no influence.
He's just a bad loser. Most of his accounts have actually been banned before, but he keeps pooping up with new accounts. He is a problem gambler who was banned from bustabit for sound reasons, but he keeps harassing the owners of the casino and making threats. So I am not surprised he is here too with his antics. Might as well report his new alt for evading forum ban.
628  Economy / Reputation / Re: 60M posts! View unedited/deleted posts (search per post, per user or per topic) on: January 05, 2024, 02:03:54 PM
Question:

Ratters has made a total number of 507 posts, but according to archive, There are only 472 archived posts. Could this be a case of some posts not getting archived?
629  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex withdraw not possible, aammount too low? on: January 05, 2024, 01:39:52 PM
It's more than obvious that he does not care about those few cents.

The problem here is that Bittrex threatened to charge 20 USD per month if users don't withdraw their assets. If the amount is too low, it's impossible to withdraw, but they will still charge you 20 USD per month for not withdrawing. They also admit that they know it's impossible for us to withdraw and avoid the fee:
His concern is now clear, but how are they going to charge the 20 USD from him per month if the assets in there are just $0.5?  Grin

It's not like they will be withdrawing money from his bank without his approval, hehehe. I would understand if he had BTC in the account worth let say $1,000 which they would keep deducting per month.
630  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ 7 BTC WB ᐉ Altcoin Betting ᐉ no KYC ᕗ Instant payouts on: January 05, 2024, 01:20:07 PM
there you are , another member of the SCAM VICTIMS GANG of 1xbit  Grin Grin

I'm always wondering why after all our bumping of this scam thread yet there are still coming victim .
They gave up on Bitcointalk, but did not give up advertising on other platforms. YouTube, Google Ads, TikTok using influencers, even some sports channels have their adverts popping up, so victims are likely to keep coming regardless of what we do here.

Some people are too lazy to safeguard their money. They can't even do a simple google search before using a service. I guess they only learn after getting scammed.
631  Other / Meta / Re: Old account revival on: January 05, 2024, 12:55:32 PM
You can still recover your account mate, the most important thing is access to the original email address you used for registering the account. You can write to the team that helps recover accounts using that email address and follow the instructions in the links shared by one of the members, especially "Recovering hacked/lost accounts"

You should be sorted in a couple of weeks or less, unlike some years back where people would have to wait for months or years before even getting a response from the admin.
632  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: January 04, 2024, 11:56:25 PM
In any case, it's completely hypocritical : look at this topic which is THE source of all this shit and it isn't even wordfiltered. Roll Eyes
Same with this. Heck, the topic isn't even locked or moved to archival like the other mixer topics. I guess it's pointless since all the domains were seized?

But I expected the ANN to be locked and moved to the archival too just like the others
633  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex withdraw not possible, aammount too low? on: January 04, 2024, 11:34:22 PM
what to do now?
Just chill

Are the 50 cents in assets really worth it? I don't think so. If they were worth it, you would have withdrawn them from that exchange a long time ago when they still had value.

Alternatively, just get a few dollars, buy and equivalent of those assets you want so much and store them in a non-custodial external wallet instead of spending $20 in administratation fees.
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [Jan 2024] Fees are high, wait for opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs on: January 04, 2024, 11:22:01 PM
I hate to say it, but I think ViaBTC needs to shut off their free transaction accelerator. Only offer paid options going forward. The reason being, if Ordinals spammers cannot settle transactions out-of-band for free anymore, they will be forced to wait in line like the rest of us, or pay said transaction accelerators $100 to get in the next block - arguably more expensive than just paying a transaction fee.
Shutting down the free transaction accelerator won't help. They just need to make their captcha challenge harder for the bots. Let's say ViaBTC shuts down their free TX accelerator. Most of the network spammers still won't care spending a lot in fees since they are still making a ton of sats off their scam jpegs. It's the normal users like me and you that will feel the pinch in the end.

A visible example is Ethereum network that never even had any TX accelerators and the spammers made it unusable to normal users for a very long time. I am afraid the same is likely going to happen to the Bitcoin network if nothing is done at all. Those spammers won't just give up overnight, especially now that we haven't even reached the bull run level of hype.
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: unconfirmed block reward from 2009 - 50 BTC - REWARD 0.1 BTC FOR HELPING on: January 04, 2024, 11:09:20 PM
A block from the past?

I don't think so. The last line in the text you shared gives a clue.

Hiding the transactions ID doesn't matter because the block is not part of the blockchain. Check the blocks that were mined on that day - https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/blocks?s=id(asc)&q=time(2009-06-25)# I don't think the block you are talking about is part of them.
636  Economy / Exchanges / Re: SouthXchange closing you have less then 30 days to get your funds out. on: January 04, 2024, 10:41:05 PM
Good lord, this exchange was still alive after all this while?

I remember them during the ICO hype, but I never registered there. It seems like business was not going on well, so instead of staying around and struggling with law enforcement as well, the better decision would be to shut down.
637  Economy / Gambling / Re: Free Bitcoin.in on: January 04, 2024, 10:21:28 PM
Not funny
Yeah, Not funny!

But what is funny besides you being unable to take advice is that you can't even differentiate between FreeBitcoin.in and Freebitco.in. This is how you end up playing on the wrong site and getting scammed.

Don't expect to win Millions while using free spins. They are free spins for God's sake.

Slowly but surely, I feel more and more like a complete idiot.  Angry
I will consider the 29 Litecoin, as a painful lesson.
Surely, consider that 29 LTC as a fee to learn about scam on the internet and to be more careful next time. We learn something new everyday. “Don't Trust, Always First Verify”. If you are unsure about an exchange or a service. Always post the question in this forum about the legitimacy of the service. They will help you dig in deep and provide useful answers that can save you from losing your money.
639  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Has your bank or credit card told you they will stop you buying crypto? on: January 03, 2024, 11:51:28 PM
Sometime back, my bank blocked my account for engaging in "crypto p2p trading" and wanted to visit their branch for reverification and to unblock the account. Turns out the counterparty I was trading with could have been flagged off, and any transaction to any other account got flagged off as well. That was the last time I used the account to this date  Grin

They thought I needed them so much, well it turns out I had so many other alternatives. They have been sending me messages to reactivate the account and all that shit, but I don't care.

You are wasting your time, mate. It has been proven that OP is not actually accelerating Bitcoin transaction, but just rebroadcasting them. Your transaction fee rate is way below the minimum required for viaBTC's free transaction accelerator service (https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator) which is the only legitimate free transaction accelerator known as of today.

So either you use their paid transaction accelerator service or let the transaction drop from the Bitcoin network so that you can create a new transaction with high fees. This could take approximately 2 weeks as a default by some node

Rebroadcasting the transaction only keeps it in the mempool much longer, without it even having any chances of getting confirmed soon. Please stop seeking out this rebroadcasting services.
