621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin an opportunity like land on: January 20, 2024, 01:15:50 PM
I am from India and being in a country that has the biggest population in the world I can relate to your topic. What I do not understand is your comparison of land with Bitcoin the reason being land is physical and Bitcoin is virtual. Buying land has more obligations than buying Bitcoin as you would need to go through multiple paperwork. The next issue is that the land is governed by the government ruling that land whereas Bitcoin is decentralized. Comparing Bitcoin with land based on its price does not fit as Bitcoin has many more positive aspects than a piece of land. While I agree that both the price of land and Bitcoin are unstoppable, understand this Bitcoin is responsible for everyone being aware of an ecosystem that is decentralized while land is a centralized entity and its price is controlled by the government.
622  Local / India / Re: Shadow Ban on Crypto Exchanges on: January 20, 2024, 12:55:17 PM
Indian exchanges are behind this URL ban? That is a new info.

Yes, didn't you know that local exchanges complained to the regulators that while they are following the AML policies and regulation the international exchanges are keeping away with it.
This is the reason why international exchanges were said to follow the AML policies and otherwise face a shadow ban.
This is why Binance is now forced to accept the AML policies by Indian government.

Yeah, you are right these local exchanges are the reason why we are in this situation. What I don't understand is rather doing such a shit show the government could have incentivized or these local exchanges could have offered some incentives for getting users back. The approach that they have taken now will be temporarily accepted. In the long run, the local exchanges would lose their customer base as many users would now leave this industry. They dug their own grave trying to get back their lost volume and so will the government lose their tax collection. I mean who would try to trade on local exchanges when already their fees are high compared to international exchange and with 1% TDS it makes it more difficult. Those who will continue are the ones who don't have any other choice but to continue.

Another question that comes to my mind is why will other exchanges accept AML policy. The simple reason is that the owners of these exchanges except Binance have been anonymous. No one knows where these exchanges are located as they don't have any physical presence. Binance will only co-operate as it has one of the biggest user bases in India. So, I am only expecting the Binance to agree to all terms and conditions of the government of India.
623  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: January 20, 2024, 12:25:20 PM
U-19 World Cup has started and India is playing its first game today against Bangladesh. Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl as the initial conditions were suitable for seam bowling. They were able to get 2 wickets in the beginning still, but Indian batters managed to get to a total of 251 runs in their full 50 overs and lost 7 wickets. Bangladesh's batting has started and they haven't lost a single wicket with a score of 13 runs. India is the favorite in this year's World Cup and is the previous World Cup winner. I am not aware of the players participating in this Cup but I am certain that the captain of the Indian team is competent.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First contract of its kind in the world in Argentina on: January 19, 2024, 02:03:13 PM
Argentina is one of the most corrupt countries in the world and they are the biggest borrower from IMF. BTW, we know who controls IMF and who is trying to govern the present government on the pretext of a democratically elected government. Argentina has now implemented a Bitcoin contract which I agree is good but that does not mean they will make Bitcoin a legal tender.

What I do not like is that struggling economies are the ones to use Bitcoin over Gold or USD. I expected that countries like the US or China allow Bitcoin to thrive as an alternate legal tender and I envision that in the future Bitcoin would become one of the alternate modes of transaction throughout the world and replace Gold. As of now, Gold is an alternate way to make payments in international trade which is so much old, and compared to what Bitcoin is as of now, it should become an alternate way of trading between countries.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs - Good or Bad? on: January 19, 2024, 01:07:16 PM
I am not sure why OP is against EFTs as they are just a way for big financial institutions to make profits and help small investors like us. What I do not understand is the reason to come up with such a shit post after ETFs got approved. If Kakmakr was so not into ETF then what kind of response he gave is questionable as it is not related to ETFshere. It looks like he was more concerned with scams and why? I believe it was totally out of context as scams do not relate to Bitcoin ETF. What I felt after going through his posting history is that he is into gambling and with the recent decision by Hhampuz to remove fossils from his signature campaign he is trying to act as a realistic and active participant of a signature campaign. I have zero clue what he is trying to gain from this thread after ETFs have been approved.

Practically ETFs are nothing but a piece of paper given to anyone investing in Bitcoin. Whereas we as a community have the real satoshis in our wallets and we are proud of it. ETFs for me is a way to gain control over those who want to invest in Bitcoin but are clueless. It is evident with the current price of bitcoin, & that ETFs are not the ones we thought that the price of Bitcoin would pump. On the contrary, they made the Bitcoin price go down initially and it will remain the same till halving.
626  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why they need a license if bitcon is not money? on: January 19, 2024, 12:28:26 PM
I doubt government will cooperate to Curacao to properly regulate casino that being use by their citizens. This kind of license of Curacao will only make sense to me if they have offices on all the country which their license is applicable because it’s very hard to be in touch with them if you have a problem on a casino with their license while you have a intercontinental distance barrier.

If the government feels that they are losing money in the form of tax or if there are reports of too many scams then only the government would respond. Why would they have offices globally, many countries do not allow gambling as it is illegal. The next point is why would they when they are enjoying without even trying to practically implement their license law strictly? It is a win-win situation for them and I don't think they will change their policy ever. It is again a win-win situation for those casinos who want to scam their users and a win-win situation for those casinos who don't want strict regulations.
627  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: -on trust issues on: January 19, 2024, 12:08:22 PM
Trust is feedback given to a user based on positive, negative, and neutral. Positive feedback is always good for anyone who is looking to do business in the forum. Negative feedback has many things like making others aware of the scammer or pointing out a troll and neutral feedback is to warn others here in the forum about the member. Trust doesn't equate to a ban whereas it is a way to identify a user in an anonymous environment. We don't know anyone here by their name or their identity and in such an environment trust is helpful to make others aware of that particular user. You would only get banned from the forum if you don't follow the rules and the biggest reason for getting banned is if you plagiarised content or you are trying to scam others.

BTW, I did check the post for which you got 2 merits and it seems you wrote a topic about a fake Electrum app on the Apple store. The thing is that you didn't provide the link to the fake Electrum app and still, you were given 2 Merits. I mean why? You then locked the topic after only one reply. This is unacceptable for someone new to the forum and I am assuming that you are an alt of someone.
628  Local / India / Re: Shadow Ban on Crypto Exchanges on: January 19, 2024, 11:43:09 AM

Binance tried to came into the Indian market in 2019 itself when they acquired wazirx an Indian exchange but later in 2022 there are some conflicts raised and Binance announced wazirx is not part of Binance and the Indian 30% tax pushed the users to choose Binance over Indian exchanges and I guess you are right Binance is having huge userbase from India too that is why they are working towards to settle this issue.

I remember this event as it came in the mainstream media and they as in Binance did pay a good amount for acquiring WazirX. There have been too many controversies associated with WazirX from the beginning as I remember they lured new customers by promising free WRX airdrop in the initial days. Then after they got a good response they retracted and said they would give a discount on the trading fee. The whole idea and the inception of this exchange is full of controversies and thankfully I was not part of it. BTW, they and CoinDCX are the reason why the government of India initiated an AML policy against the International exchanges. They had formed a consortium and met with a few MPs before the last parliament session asking them to ask the government why international exchanges are not following the AML policy and why they are not charging TDS.
629  Economy / Lending / Re: Lending Service Started! (USDT/BUSD/BTC/LTC/ETH/DOGE/ETC)! on: January 18, 2024, 01:20:49 PM
75$ received and the new repayment amount is 525$

Sorry for the delay in payment as I should have done it yesterday. As stated earlier in the application for the loan I have made a payment of $70 which is less by $5. I would add that amount to next week's payment. Please confirm that you have received the payment. Thanks.
630  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: January 18, 2024, 12:52:47 PM
Everything was going bad until Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh came to rescue. With all thier efforts the bowlers started leaking runs as if they did in it for the first time. Avesh Khan, why are the selectors so crazy about this bowler. He concedded more runs than anyone amd he is the reason why India went into super over.

I missed the match as I was busy with my commitments and I regret it. I checked the highlights and I felt, I should have watched the live telecast yesterday. Looks like the hitman did some extraordinary batting to get India to a total of 212 runs. He was well supported by Rinku Singh and somehow I feel this guy will one day become the captain of the Indian side. He was introduced as a pinch hitter in the T20 format to take on the opposite team at a time when his present team might lose or need to increase the run rate. He has evolved from more than a pinch hitter to a classic batter who can bat like a responsible batter in the lower order.

I won't blame the bowlers completely as the pitch was good for batting. Unfortunately, we lost 4 batters consecutively as they chose bad shots or were tempted to choose those shots. Both Kohli and Samson were out in the same manner if you had noticed it. This is not something you get to do as a bowler if you haven't found their weakness as a bowler in your training session. Afghanistan were just inches away to win the game but Rohit as a captain prevented it with his comeback batting.
631  Local / India / Re: Shadow Ban on Crypto Exchanges on: January 18, 2024, 12:29:39 PM
snip..

I haven't opened the app before but after reading the replies on this thread I did open it and got the same information. So, it is clear now that Binance.me is meant for the Indian community until they resolve the issue with the government. I still have a feeling that Binance wont agree with the government on the topic of AML and would continue in the same manner. Any news about other exchanges that have been banned by the Indian government?

So, after reading both of your replies I feel that I did not do anything wrong. After asking my question I went ahead and checked a few Indian subreddits and there I did find someone asking the same question. Coming back to your reply @Bureau I am also clueless as to what other exchanges are doing after the URL ban. Till now most of us can access their apps on our mobile phones and I guess unless they stop working these exchanges other than Binance won't come out with a solution. I think only Binance has the biggest Indian user base and all other exchanges have fewer Indian users. They are not bothered with new Indian registration as they know the situation in India is not that positive for new users to invest in cryptocurrency or Bitcoin. I am only waiting to see what happens when Bitcoin bull runs start and it creates a new ATH.
632  Other / Meta / Re: Allow to make thread self-moderated even after posting on: January 18, 2024, 12:22:44 PM
It will not be good for a thread that was not self-moderated before to be changed to self-moderated by the OP. People will later abuse it. You will see newbies and other people change a thread to self-moderated and delete the posts that they wishes at anytime which good members will not support on this forum.

That is understandable but if the admin thinks it is a good idea then it should be implemented for only high ranks like Hero and onwards. If still the thread becomes a spammers paradise then the mods can delete the thread. I liked the idea as it has happened with one of our members on our the local board and he had to lock that thread for some time and start a new one.

The simple explanation already had been made here, you cannot do that and also people will take that for granted and begin to abuse it, the way you see some making posts and deleting their own self posts could not be as annoying as seing your own post being deleted by someone who is the OP to his thread and taking action on deleting what you have posted, so if you want to be self moderated to your thread, then make it right at the start.

Please read what I have written above and I do think there is always a way out for such abuse. Now, it all depends on the admin to if he is interested in this idea which as always won't be given any preference.

 Angry

I was planning to review this exchange before you. After reading your review, I felt it to be very detailed and spot on. Any online business needs to first work on important pages like T&C, privacy policy, FAQ, etc. If a business is launched without these pages properly built then it gives an impression that they are not serious and might scam their users. We have seen so many scams happening in online industry and small points like what you have written can become a problem if they remain unnoticed. The volume might have been artificially created it is impossible to generate such volumes as a new exchange.

Non-KYC exchange with CeFi and DeFi facility, I will check this exchange and then get back to you, if I face any issues. I am not someone who can trust a new exchange unless I check it and then I would test it for some time then only I will recommend it to everyone here on the local board and the global board. I do see that you are running a Bounty Campaign and it would be interesting to see how effectively the promised tokens to Bounty Hunters are paid.
635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a different kind of wonder on: January 17, 2024, 12:19:50 PM

I believe Bitcoins price should be at least twice for Miners to continue running their Hardware efficiently after Halving.  Costs of running the Hardware are the same but you get half the income.  I am not a Miner however so I may be B S ing.

They will enjoy high fees because the spam on the main network won't end after the halving. I am sure it will increase and we might again witness atrocious fees that can go beyond 200sat/vB. The miners know it and the developers want the network to get spammed, to keep them from moving anywhere else. I feel this is the first time that the miners are making more in fees than they did in the previous halvings.

Snip..

A small advice when you write on a particular topic ensure that it is divided into paragraphs and does not look like a wall of words. Whatever interesting and engaging topic you wrote will all go down the drain when you write in such a manner. The next suggestion of mine is to reduce the image size, if you are not so clear about BBCode then start learning as it will only help you in presenting your topic more presentable. Here is the code that you need to use while posting an image.

You can find more details in this post from BBCode on how to post images. Posting images with BBCode
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any way to pay for AWS using Bitcoin? on: January 17, 2024, 12:00:05 PM
I am not sure from which part of the world you are as you haven't mentioned it. If you have not heard about Bitrefill prepaid card then you should check it for making payments in Bitcoin to AWS. The card is available for your usage instantly and it comes preloaded. However, it is not available globally as it only works in selected countries. There is an article by them on how to pay AWS or Hetzner using it. Here is the link to that article - Pay on AWS or Hetzner with Bitcoin, ETH, USDT or Crypto

The third and final T20 match India plays before participating in the T20WC will be played today. I am not expecting any big miracles from the Afghanistan team as I feel they will lose today. This series was to test the new players and so far Shubham Dubey, and Rinku Singh have been good with the bat. I feel today we might see some changes as there are a couple of players who should be given a chance. I feel Washington Sundar, Sanju Samson, and Ravi Bishnoi should be part of the playing squad. Rohit Sharma has not been able to get any runs in this series which is quite concerning. I hope he gets to debut with runs today otherwise his chance of being a captain for the T20WC would become uncertain.

Got the following message when I opened the Binance app today.

When I clicked on update it took me to Binance.me and asked me to download the updated apk file. Now, it is confirmed that those domain names were created for the Indian community in case if the situation gets bitter with the Indian government. Anyone here experienced the same thing like I did today. I mean did you guys get the same update message and were to directed to any of the domain name as informed by pawanjain in his reply.
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the possibility of discovering a memecoin that could change your life? on: January 17, 2024, 10:36:53 AM
You may be able to find a new meme coin if you search for it in the right way. What you cannot control is the hype and if a shit coin does not hype you won't make the money you thought you would make from it. This is the irony of meme coins they are completely dependent on influence of the social media as they have nothing to offer to their investors. One popular way is to keep an eye on the x.com handles of celebrities and influencers who in the past have promoted meme coins. One of them is Elon Musk he has promoted meme coins in the past and he might do it in the future.
640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how wasabi, electrum, exodus ... make money ? on: January 17, 2024, 10:15:31 AM
Interesting question! I have not thought about it but knew about Wasabi and Exodus. What I never realized or thought was about Electrum wallet being a constant user of this wallet. I today came to know that they operate from donations made to them and this is pretty slick to me as it is a very good wallet. Wasabi uses Coinjoin and generates revenue from it and Exodus from features like swap, buy crypto, etc. The best wallet out of the three for me will always be Electrum wallet for Bitcoin and not the mobile one.
