621  Other / Meta / Re: Issues Bitcoin Talk members meet using the website without Java Script on: November 09, 2023, 07:42:58 PM
> BBCodes.  I see the buttons.  I can hold the cursor over them to see the Alt Text.  But it would be helpful if the Alt Text also showed a really short guide of how the BBCode works by showing what the code is to insert that function in the reply / topic.  Alternative solution is adding a link or question mark icon next to the buttons that would open up a really simple Bitcoin Talk page showing examples of how to use BBCode.

SMF Bulletin Board Code

> Show/Hide link for ignored users is non functional.  This means I have to first remove a member from my Ignore list if I want to read their message.  I do not know how easy this fix would be to be honest.  But maybe it is as simple as a few lines of code.

This one's tricky since HTML can't toggle content on and off like that.  CSS could maybe do something, but I'm not sure its worth the effort.

Seems like the easiest fix is to just remove people from your ignore list if you want to see their posts.  Wink
622  Other / Meta / Re: People commenting on the first page without having read the previous posts. on: November 09, 2023, 07:24:53 PM
My answer to the op is the idea is terrible as your own first post demonstrated quite clearly that many first posts in a thread are all you need to read to be able to give a

good answer no matter if it is close to someone else's answer.

The idea's not necessarily bad.  It just means the answer depends on the subject matter.  If we use this topic for example, literally any member can say the same thing if they feel like it.  but imagine it's topic of a Technical Discussion. After the first question and some helpful responses, OP might post another question or the convo could shift gears and simply go in a new direction.  Now, its definitely annoying when a new person jumps in and comments without reading the chain of dialogue that got it to that point.
623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fund for Bitcoin promotion on: November 08, 2023, 07:50:16 PM
Indeed. Bitcoin doesn't have a central authority promoting it.  Instead, Bitcoin depends on the businesses and people already using it to get the word out.  This grassroots kind of marketing lets Bitcoin grow more naturally as people and companies talk about why they like Bitcoin and how it helps them and  it's not like some big advertising campaign shoving Bitcoin at you.  The businesses who take Bitcoin or use its technology have a stake in seeing it succeed, so they want to spread the news about how Bitcoin can benefit people.  This means Bitcoin catches on because people actively choose to start accepting and using it, not because some central power forced it on everyone all at once.  The decentralized nature of Bitcoin puts its promotion in the hands of the users, and that's how it should be.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: investing plan on: November 08, 2023, 07:10:29 PM
I think Bitcoin's probably your best bet if you want something stable in crypto.  It's the OG coin! But if you've got an appetite for risk, maybe spread out a bit into some altcoins that seem promising after you've done your homework on them and  just remember it's so key to research what you're buying into - really understand the projects and think hard about your goals long-term.  Crypto's a rollercoaster so buckle up for the peaks and valleys.

Wishing you luck with investing!
625  Other / Meta / Re: I am confused as to why this thread was moved to the current section it is in. on: November 08, 2023, 07:04:04 PM
I also simply don't understand if a mod moved it or if the op moved it.

Lastly I do no see why it is in alt coins and not btc.

What am I missing as to why it was placed here.
Since OP is/was relatively inexperienced, he initially posted that topic in BItcoin discussion and when one of the members warned him to move it to Speculation, he probably missclicked or got cofnused and moved it to Altcoin Speculation instead.

If I'm reading ninjastic.space correctly, the topic was first posted in "Bitcoin Discussion" board, then the thread was moved to "Speculation" (before post 62940499), then to "Mining speculation" (before post 62942525), and finally to "Speculation (Altcoins)" (before post 62952217). Since everything happened in the span of only a few days from the original post, I doubt that the moderators did it. It is very likely that the OP is responsible for moving the topic.
626  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Wolf.bet Commission withdraw on: November 08, 2023, 05:07:53 PM
I requested a withdraw and it's now waiting for approval. Will let you know when I received it.

That's good to hear. I hope you get your commission. Keep us updated.

~

Well I read the op and I don't think I make mistake or probably what I understand the op is different from what you wrote. I analyst the Data you presented, if what have you have presented is contrary to the TC then you make enquiry from the support team because they have the full details of your case.

And last. I didn't see @Coin_trader as you question to screenshot, but to the op. Why you did not use your main account for this thread instead of alt-account. I am saying because of you answers to questions. Because what op supposed answered are the ones you answering. I am not here for argument but to tell you how to solve problem.

Hey dude, it seems like you're having some trouble getting your point across clearly.  A bunch of what you said was kinda confusing and didn't make a whole lot of sense.  Maybe try using a grammar checker or something so we can understand you better?

I hope you're not insinuating that the OP is my alt account just because I was discussing another member's question, as that would be kinda dumb. I get that you have some quota to fill for your campaign and all, but maybe going forward you could try to post replies that actually add something meaningful instead of just random nonsense to meet your numbers.  It's pretty clear you just started churning out like 60 posts a week out of nowhere, which I'm sure is great for your paycheck, but have some respect for the rest of us here.  Not everything needs to be bullshit just to fill your signature count.
627  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Wolf.bet Commission withdraw on: November 07, 2023, 04:08:49 PM
Don't immediately accuse them of refusing to pay, you didn't meet the minimum requirements.
Exactly and that what I also see. Op supposed understand that the amount he mentioned at first and the minimum withdrawal has a very big margin. The amount he has is too small for the minimum withdrawal which the system told him of $50. I will only advice op to play games with the amount he has. And if he wins above the minimum withdrawal of $50 then he can withdraw it.

Op you said, this is in your commission $18.55 and your the minimum withdrawal is $50. Then there is no way again for you to withdraw it. Or you have more than $50 in your total amount? If yes then contact the support team and see what they can said and also provide more evidence here.

@Mate2237, maybe take a minute and re-read through the thread before posting something that comes across as stupid and uninformed just to hit your signature quota, you know?

First, OP made some good points that are worth paying attention to.  For one thing, noticed that the affiliate terms don't list a minimum withdrawal amount so he's right about that.

Second, I'm not sure you get what affiliate commissions are if you're suggesting to "play games with the amount he has" and  did you look at the screenshot he posted? That might help explain things.

And finally, I'd recommend reading the OP's last reply again.

Can you post a screenshot or mention on what category on the ToS which this statement mention? The ToS is on pdf files which means search function is not available while the full ToS is so long to read just to find this small sentence for your convenience.

By having a quick scan, I just saw in the terms that they have the right to refuse payment anytime for their own reason. This is kinda tricky on your case. Does that minimum withdrawal is available when you start being an affiliate or they just update it later on?

You can find this definition under Article 10, point 5 of the Affiliate T&C. I can't post a screenshot, but here's a quote:

10. COMMISSION AND PAYMENT
...
§5
There is no minimum withdrawal threshold as long as the transaction fee is covered.
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2023, 03:45:02 PM
Pretty much self explanatory.  How do you do it?

It's my money and I'll do what I want with it!

When folks start lecturing me, I just remind myself why I got into crypto in the first place.  Ive done my research, and I truly believe in it, and  the average joe probably doesn't understand Bitcoin like I do.  As more and more corporations and big investors get on board, perceptions will start to change.  For now the haters can laugh while I fill my digital wallets.

I get why some people think it's sketchy or unreliable.  But it's my decision, and I gotta trust my gut.  My portfolio, my choice.  I know the risks and I believe the reward is worth it.  The world is adapting and so am I.  You gotta get ahead of the curve or get left behind these days.
629  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallet is safe for long term Bitcoin storage? on: November 06, 2023, 07:43:16 PM
Many of them said to keep Bitcoin in Binance Account, Ku Coin Account, Trust Wallet.
<...>

Whoever said that to you either doesn't know what they're talking about or just doesn't want the best for you.  You really gotta think this through logically. how can your coins actually be safe long-term if you aint fully in control of the wallet itself? Binance and KuCoin are exchanges, they ain't wallets.  So what happens to all your coins if one day they just up and stop working? I mean, didn't you hear about what went down with one of the biggest exchanges last year? It was nuts.

Anyway bottom line is, if you care about keeping your coins truly secure for the long haul, you gotta control the private keys to your wallet.  Exchanges can go belly up anytime.  Don't take unnecessary risks here.  Do your research and get yourself a proper crypto wallet that you control. As for Trust Wallet, I don't personally use it so I can't recommend it. It's probably good enough for smaller amounts.  But if you plan to keep your coins long term, I wouldn't use a hot wallet for that.
630  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the steps and Ways to Write post Gambling into a good Quality ? on: November 06, 2023, 07:30:13 PM
Look OP, it seems like you're not really getting what this is all about.  The way you're looking at it is off-base.  You gotta take some time to actually understand how things work here before jumping to conclusions.  If you wanna be a part of what we've got going on - the forum, the campaigns, all of it - you should probably focus more on learning the basics first instead of making assumptions out of thin air.

I mean why make such a fuss out of this? Its not that complicated.  There's no secret formula, but common sense plays a big role.  You want in on a signature campaign, you just follow the rules, don't spam, an d make relevant and informative posts.  As for writing in the gambling section, it's the same – provide valuable input and follow the board's guidelines.  No reason to overthink it and go on some huge rant over nothing.
631  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A person claiming he crack rsa 2048 on: November 06, 2023, 07:08:28 PM
I'm pretty doubtful about these wild claims of breaking tough encryption with just a mobile phone.  That sounds crazy! RSA-2048 is supposed to be really secure.  I know crypto stuff keeps improving, but extraordinary claims need solid proof that stands up to review by other experts and  the field is complicated, so any new breakthroughs have to go through careful examination and peer review first before people will believe them.  I need to see some credible evidence before I'll buy that you can crack advanced encryption just using a mobile device.
632  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I’ve bought 100 BTC in 2011. Need help to find them for rewards. on: November 06, 2023, 04:56:34 PM
I remember there were several cases over the years where it was claimed that someone bought Bitcoin in those early years and the only information they had was an email and a password. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a single topic, and maybe someone else will be lucky.

True, there have been many similar cases in the past. Here are a few I found that might be useful to someone:

Help "I had Free Bitcoin 2011 with registration"
Recover old Bitcoin wallet
Help regarding LOST Bitcoin....
Looking for someone who purchased bitcoin from 2011- *please respond to this"
Lost BTC? Can it be traced back thru Blockchain?
Trying To Recover Wallet Identifier From 2011
633  Other / Meta / Re: Services board is very hard to browse on: November 04, 2023, 08:51:42 PM
<...>
I am not sure you get the point of the OP, I think the idea behind the whole post is about exposure and not having certain threads washed up too easily as, bumping a thread plays by a specific set of rules which respect you from unnecessary bumps within a period.
<...>

I get the OP's point. But unless the admins decide to change something, we're stuck with what we have. That's why I suggested an alternative way to customize the Services board according to our preferences. Ignoring individual threads really helps.

I like what SFR10 suggested. That could also be one of the viable solutions.
634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conclusion after losing millions! that games are rigged. on: November 04, 2023, 06:39:43 PM
Gambling is a tricky thing.  For some folks, it's no big deal - they can throw down cash and not have it mess with their lives.  But others get sucked in too deep.  Even if you've got money to burn, gotta watch that you're not just tossing it to the wind without getting any fun back.

Calling something rigged when you're on a losing streak is an easy.  But the casinos and bookies gotta keep an even playing field to keep their good name. and  That's not saying there aren't shady games out there, but you better have solid proof if you're gonna yell rigged!
635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use multiple platforms for betting? on: November 04, 2023, 06:27:29 PM
I think this strategy you are referring to is called arbitrage betting. I only don't think that it's safe, so for those who are planning of doing it, they must be very careful. Of course, it also works using a cryptocurrency. When it comes to the difficulty of funding a betting account, I think it depends on the betting platform that we are using.

So the key is to investigate first, if they are hassle-free before we start on using them so that we can initiate our strategy successfully. For those who don't do arbitrage, they will only find a really good betting platform and try to stick on it for a long time. I'm also like that actually because it saves me time, effort and even money.

You're absolutely right. Arbitrage betting is not without risk.  A lot of gambling sites and bookies actually ban those kinds of bets and  like you said, knowing the rules on whatever platform you use is super important.  Arbitrage can be profitable but it's not foolproof, no doubt about it.  Bookies have various ways to detect arbitrage betting, and some punters might not even be aware of all the tactics they use.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if the second Satoshi appears? on: November 04, 2023, 05:33:22 PM
A lot of new projects come out saying they'll be the next Bitcoin. They say their blockchain is faster or has higher bandwidth or lower fees or something.  But here's the thing - none of them are better at everything compared to bitcoin. Unless some huge flaw comes out that makes bitcoin fundamentally broken, I dont think people will ever fully jump ship.  That's just my opinion though.  I'm no expert.  But I don't see bitcoin losing its top spot anytime in the next few decades at least.
637  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Csgo500 SCAM 77.500$ on: November 04, 2023, 05:05:19 PM
I think the better advise to OP will be to seek help instead of moving on. He's self excluding himself, then tried to bypass it by using his... grandmother's credential, and didn't think that what he did was wrong. This is a textbook addiction.

OP, please do something about it, we don't want you to fall into big mess.

Yeah, I'm with you on this one as well.  It's pretty obvious the OP has a major gambling addiction going on.  Instead of trying to get around the self-exclusion stuff, he really gotta get some help and deal with whatever's causing him to gamble like that in the first place.

Heres hoping he actually listen to people's advice here and make some positive changes before his life gets completely messed up.
638  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Invest with caution - Don’t be blinded by the speculation of incoming bull run on: November 04, 2023, 04:43:16 PM
It can be hard not to get excited about altcoins and new projects, since they could totally blow up and make you a ton of money.  Gotta be real careful though - with big potential rewards comes big risks. Bitcoin's been around for a while now and lots of folks use it, so it's definitely a safer way to invest than newer coins.

Tons of scams out there trying to take advantage of crypto newbies.  Best thing is do your homework if youre thinking about jumping into some new coin.  How long's it been around? Who's behind it? Get on Reddit and BitcoinTalk and see what people are saying.  It's all about trying find that sweet spot between risk and reward. Bitcoins maybe not as sexy but less likely you'll lose your shirt.  Anyway, just gotta be smart if you're getting into this stuff especially if you're new.  Easy to get blinded by promises of 100x returns.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Demo vs Real slots on: November 04, 2023, 03:25:45 PM
Yeah, I've definitely noticed how the slot machine demos seem way more generous than the real deal.  It's kind of shady if you ask me, getting people hooked on big wins in the free version, only to have the actual games be total duds in comparison.  but I guess they can claim it's just for fun and to show off the features. and  Doesnt make it less annoying when you put in real money expecting those sweet demo payouts and end up going home empty-handed though!

From their perspective juicing up the demos probably works great as a marketing scheme to reel people in.  Then the casinos can tweak the real games to pay out way less often.  It's smart business even if it feels kinda manipulative.  I mean, they aren't outright lying about the demos being purely for entertainment.  But it definitely encourages unrealistic expectations about winning if you aren't careful.  At the end of the day, the house always has the advantage, demos or not.
640  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Csgo500 SCAM 77.500$ on: November 04, 2023, 12:29:51 PM

I've reposted the second part of your screenshots and included translated versions for easier viewing:

Okay so this gives me a better understanding of what went down, but I gotta be straight with you - the casino's got you here.  Looks like you went against some of their rules laid out in the Terms of Service.  And if you weren't willing to work with them to figure out that exploit you found, no reason they should give you anything back.

I get it, you just wanted to win big and thought you found a clever trick.  Casinos don't play that way though.  Theyre gonna protect themselves and  sucks but you're out of luck this time.  Take the loss as a lesson learned and move on.  What's done is done now.
