641  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: RK-BOX,450GH/S,480W ,shipping date 25th on: July 05, 2014, 03:35:20 PM

update after 1.5hrs of operation:

the unit is stable at about 927GH for two units - pretty good. still waiting for the pools delay to confirm.
Im using 1 DPS800 at 120V per rk-box, with 4 independant 16awg cables that I sell, and the second psu having two cables and two 16awg splitters. both methods are stable without wires getting warm. (up to ~130w per splitter or 260W were 16awg, with clear headroom to carry more Smiley)

the fan speed is silly though - how can this be turned down since the PWM functionality is clearly not in place and the fans are spinning at 100% blowing barely-warm exhaust and are probably in the same 70dB range as an SP10 at 60%

You may have to install lower power fans.

I tried but 70cfm fans were not sufficient - temps got up into the 55-65 range and 2 boards turned off. had to switch back. any good 100-120cfm suggestions?

also, after 9hrs operation the miners have 925GH hashrate but 12% rejects  - meaning only ~810Gh at the pool.

That's a lot of discarded shares.

I have used the Akasa Thermal fan in similar situations.  It's not PWM but it has a temperature sensor on it and the speed adjusts to the ambient temperature, up to about 105 cfm.  It would probably run full speed on this miner, but max noise level is 38 db.  Almost half of what you have now.  It's fairly reasonably priced too.

Got my rkbox today. Bad I don't have time to properly config. It's kind of loud though. Need to get the s3 for comparison :-)

The class 10 8GB card looks blank. Does it supposed have a pi image?

mine arrived today.
1) shipping packaging sucked. loose cables rattling around, both miners have bent corners on the frame, one box was opened by the security agency.
2) class 10 card is good - works off the bat
3) BIG and HEAVY. way too much aluminum for the heat produced, its rediculous and probably why shipping costs a fortune.
4) LOUD. why do the fans not seem to be variable speed? It is really loud despite not being terribly hot.
5) too manyu cables. 4xPCIe is silly, as is 4x USB.
6) what is the ip address to reach the RPi once running?  EDIT: 192.168.1.254 on my network
7) whats the login for the raspberry pi?

wow... how much you earn / month will all that? how much are each of those neptunes and hashing power?

edit: I googled and i think each of those neptunes is 3TH/s ?WOW

5 of the Neptune boxes is 3TH
Seriously? You mean each box is only 200 Gh/s?  Like an S1?

No.  Each Neptune box runs between 600-700GH/s.
Right - 3Th/s not 1.

Yes - this is way off.
646  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does anyone actually have AntMiner S2 1TH/s? on: July 02, 2014, 06:57:16 PM
Bitmain gives away $400 coupons to S1 and S2 buyers to put toward new S2's.  So no one ever pays the $1745 price.  You can usually purchase a coupon from someone on the thread.
But at this point you are much better off ordering 2 S3 miners and getting a dell power supply at
http://www.gigampz.com/index.html
One should be able to power both S3's at stock voltage.
647  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 02, 2014, 05:48:44 PM
if you calibrated your pricing so that miners made a little money, you would sell a lot more units.

You guys need a new hobby.  S3's are flying off the shelf.  There is exactly ZERO incentive for Bitmaintech to do anything to 'bump' sales.  To even make such a statement is laughable.

They did about $22,000,000 on day one.
648  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: July 02, 2014, 03:52:55 PM
It will be interesting to see what happens here with the price given that the Antminer S3 is .74 btc.
Plus it does not require a rpi.
649  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Habanero - 650GH/s - Batch 2 Shipping June 9th, $850 ($1.3/GH/s) on: July 02, 2014, 03:50:15 PM
Are you shipping from Europe?

[HABANERO FOR SALE]

I am looking at selling some of my tasty Habaneros (with regret).

Reason is I didn't have time to set all of them up before leaving the location where they are hosted for work and have a few spare.

They have been all tested and haven't been overclocked at all.

They are paired with a Coolermaster Nepton 280L cooler and 1000watt HP Server PSU. Comes with all cables and usb. You just need a controller.

Shipping will be with a reputable courier like Fedex or DHL as I don't want these damaged on the way to you Smiley. Shipping is within 24 hours of receiving payment providing it isn't a weekend then it will go out Monday.

Payment is in BTC and gateway or MrTeal can verify my purchase of 11 Habaneros.

PM me if you are interested.

650  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The last Batch of AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner, Now $1775 per unit on: June 30, 2014, 09:21:49 PM
Had a nice surprise with my S2 delivery today.  They added a plate across the top of the blades to keep them all in place during shipping.  It was plug n' play.  No adjustments needed.
So they fixed it just in time for obsolescence.
651  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S2 Setup [HD] on: June 30, 2014, 08:28:15 PM
Just got an S2 today.  For some reason I can't get the miner to keep my pool settings after shutdown.
I update the pools and change the IP address no problem.  It runs on my pools and I can access it on the new IP address. But then if I do a reset or just shut it down and restart it all the changes are gone.  It's back to the factory settings.
I can't find anything in the manual that I'm doing wrong or not doing.  Any suggestions?
Replace the SD card and it will fix it. Just need a $5 4GB one from amazon
Yeah - trying to avoid that.

655  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} Here's a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK at your Monarch! on: June 29, 2014, 06:30:35 PM
It is pretty amazing how after the first go around and the lateness that people ordered these Monarchs and expected them on time.  I almost feel bad for them because most were probably new customers and did not read up before buying?  I know that 90% of all ASIC sold do not ROI, but these really lost coins.

Good point.  And with each passing day there are another couple hundred new enthusiasts for them prey on.
I would be curious to know how many new orders for the monarch they get a day even now.
656  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The last Batch of AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner, Now $1805 per unit on: June 29, 2014, 05:26:06 PM
Is it me or does that one blade in your image not have any sort of heat sink on it ?

Also, still looking for five (5) S2 coupons that don't expire for at least a week or longer, just PM me with what you got... will make a sum total 0.4 donation for all.

Edit: My BitMain name is the same as my name here, MoreBloodWine

Center blade is not a miner.  It's the controller or something.  There are 5 hashing blades on each side of it.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Mr. Teal and Pepper Mining.  I can't remember the last time I had to touch these miners.  They just run.  I think it's been at least 2 weeks.  I have some other equipment from small / independent manufacturers and I have to babysit it daily.  I have to restart my Drill Bit miners 2-3 times a day.  Thankfully it's an easy remote deal.  But these Habs are flawless.
I hope you make more, but even if you don't, you have made me some coin Mr. T.  Thank you.

I get this is an S2 thread, but I just wanted to mention I've had two S1's since February and both of their fans just stopped working

The first fan died about a month into its life, and the 2nd fan died last week.

I have a feeling S1 fan death is a common theme.

I've had as many as 23 S1's. Sold all but 7 now. Holding these to see what the upgrade deal is.
Have not had a bad fan on any of them.
659  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: June 27, 2014, 11:00:27 PM
wth!!!
they pushed the release back again

Makes sense  they are still selling s-2's   ….

So    we will just have to buy out those s-2's..

Anyone want them?

as for diff jumps i get 16.5 or 16.8

thats what i mean, they pushed the ship date of the s2's to the 30th on website.. are they pushing back all s2 deliveries or just the orders they actually have then? or am i over reacting

I think you're overreacting. The S2 ship date is updated on a rolling basis and says nothing about the S3.

S2 ship dates are updating daily now.  Mine shipped today.  When I bought it 2 days ago, it said it would ship today.  Buy on today, it ships Monday.

Where is Bitmain making these rollout timing announcements?  Is it in this thread?

I don't know specifically about the CX750, but with most Corsair PSU's I have used this would not work.  I know it's not advisable, but it just plain may not work at all.  It seems if I load a PSU with multiple miners I need to be at least 10 -15% under the rated wattage or the PSU will just turn on and then off as if overloaded.  Sometimes this is solvable by starting one device, letting it warm up, then adding the second.   But there seem to be safety mechanisms to prevent you from pulling too much juice.  I always try and be 100-200w under the PSU rating.  Then I don't have issues.  For what it's worth....

I've managed to run two overclocked S1's on a Corsair CX750M no problem although its not advisable.   I've also had good luck with the corsair HX750, and the EVGA SuperNOVA 750G2.

I just hope I have the same result with the S3's. - Edit: When we eventually get to underclocking them.

Just make sure there is nothing flammable near by if you are going to do that long term.  I have seen this go very bad.
