701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Include Or Always Include Gambling In Your New Year's Resolution on: December 04, 2023, 04:22:15 PM
My question do you include gambling in your new resolution, and what's your New Year's resolution about gambling?
Resolutions require extra level of discipline to keep, It is like an agreement between you and the future, but you do not need to wait until the new year starts before you do away with habits you do not want next year. Today is a good time to start so by the new year when making the resolutions, it will be easier to keep.

Luckily for me, I am a very responsible gambler, so my resolution on gambling will be to try as much as I can to remain responsible gambling next year.
702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sympathetic gamblers looses itself on: December 04, 2023, 03:35:55 PM
They are basically to believe one who lost $20 has lost more to them who looses $10.
This is an example of ''Misery loves company".

A gambler who looses and compares his losses to the losses of another gambler is only trying to find consolation by fooling themselves. If there is a chance that he is better than the other gambler who has lost more, it is only when they are both in the same financial level, and earn around same amount. For another gambler who earns more, and has lost more than you who earns less and have lost less, you are not the same.
703  Economy / Reputation / Is forum reputation enough to influence mixers? on: December 03, 2023, 10:26:10 PM
Since mixers will be soon be rejected on the forum due to the heat they are bringing from the government, do you think that the reputation of the forum and the rejection of these mixers from the forum will be enough to force them to change the way they mix their coins?
704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: December 02, 2023, 08:42:00 PM
Cunha's amazing goal caused me to lose clean sheet points.
Would have been another good week for Saliba, but he picked up a yellow card which is not normal for him, and then Zichenko's mistake of overthinking and looking for who to pass to when he should have just cleared the ball. Cunha took the shot well, Raya had no chance.

I think that Arsenal needed to win the match in which they played very well.
We started well, but later relaxed. Two goals is not always enough to win games, I could hear my heartbeat as soon as Wolves equalized because I know they are a pest to big teams.
705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: December 01, 2023, 11:57:33 PM
Nothing serious with Watkins but Nunez sounds like a better deal with easy fixtures honestly.
I had to choose between Isak and Nunez, I had to go with Nunez. I hope he doesn't just give me shots on targets.

By the end of this GW, I want to see myself in top 20 and heading up. Smiley

706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CASHOUT OR NOT???? on: December 01, 2023, 05:28:05 PM
Please guys I need your advice, the first game starts in a couple of hours and I still can't decide on what to do right now.
You played the bet to win, and you are winning. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush, this is a popular proverb. Take what you have won, and be thankful for it. It will hurt more to loose it all, than to loose some. Evaluate your motives, because in this case it is a thin line between greed and risk. This is the festive season, and that amount of money will do a lot for you, and help you sort out many expenses that this season often brings without having to tamper with any amount of bitcoins that you have kept. You will not be a p*ssy to cashout now.

Cash out, and play the other games.
707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Javier Milei just won the presidentiial election in Argentina on: December 01, 2023, 04:43:52 PM
Libertarian candidate Javier Milei has just won as the next president of Argentina.  He apparently likes BTC.  This is good news for us in Bitcoinland, but also good for Argentina (assuming he governs as he said he would).
I hardly trust politicians, difficult to see one who sticks to his words and promises just after they successfully get into office. They all seem to somehow change.

If this new president of Argentina is one different and someone who is credible, then we should expect better days ahead for bitcoins in Argentina which will also have a sort of general effect on the price. It will not happen easily because there will be lots of obstacles still for him to surpass to really make bitcoins mainstream in Argentina. It can happen, but may not happen as soon as we expect.
708  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 01, 2023, 03:45:49 PM
Government 1:0 Bitcoin community
Not a good feeling to be on the loosing side currently, but I think it is better to loose this battle and win the war. It would not have been an easy decision to be taken by Theymos, but it is better we let this go than this forum that has been a great community hub.

Seeing how we have bulged under this pressure from the government, I am forced to now wonder if bitcoins can really win the government in this wr for privacy?
709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: November 30, 2023, 07:36:20 PM
With hundreds or probably thousands of games online, I'd like to ask why would you choose sports betting?
Most people who play sports betting watch the sport and are very big fans of it. Some of them will not enjoy the game if they do not bet on it, this has become the situation of most gamblers who sports bets. As a challenge, when they plan to quit gambling, they will find it difficult because to them the trigger has become the sport and whenever they watch it. To stop gambling, they may have to give themselves some time away from viewing the sports.
710  Economy / Economics / Re: Growth mindset versus fixed mindset on: November 30, 2023, 07:01:56 PM
CONCLUSION
Since, ones mindset can be changed, it's better for one to develop a growth mindset towards all one's activities in life to achieve a great result. Develop a growth mindset toward all your goals today to improve on your business, studies, etc.
Do you know that there are many people who are okay with what they have already and the achievements they have made that they are not trying to grow and be better. There is a sense of relaxation about pursuing growth when someone become comfortable, comfort is a the wort addiction which can make you remain stunted. Growth is always expected, when someone gets to one level in life, instead of relaxing and getting lost in the comfort, there is a need to still be hungry for growth to another level.
711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using AI for betting predictions on: November 30, 2023, 05:58:22 PM
Should AI be relied on for sport betting predictions?
There are too many variables involved with sports betting for the really competitive games/leagues and competitions. AI will only be able to use past data and the present team form, fitness and injury update considered to give a suggestion or prediction, but just as the human predictions they is always the margin for errors due to uncertainty which makes many  gambler loose bets.

AI's cannot always correctly predict the winner of a game, AI cannot correctly predict the team to get the first corner, the first yellow card, the exact number of goals. AI is not God, it cannot tell the future.
712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: November 30, 2023, 05:22:23 PM
Do you guys also follow a similar strategy like gambling with 1% or 2% on each game? This way not only we are safe from losing big amounts but at the same time, we never find ourselves in a situation where we go all in, in some bet and then have the fear of losing all of our money.
The people who need the advice more, are people who gamble more regularly, so that they do not overspend money on gambling to the extent that it affects their daily living. Even if you gamble with small amounts of money but often, you will not know before you exceed the advised 1-2%.

For people who gamble less frequently that is occasionally, they can afford to gamble heavily at once, because since they show signs of lesser addiction, they will be able to control themselves better, and stick to the 1%.

Gambling is not a way to make money, if you do not have money, work and try to get money from other reliable sources before you decide to gamble. Do not become the desperate gambler who lacks self control.
713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way to store your seed phrase? on: November 30, 2023, 03:55:17 PM
~
Safety is not only in complexities, safety can also be obtained from simple methods and strategies. A simple method when practiced correctly can even be safer than a complex method wrongly practiced. Many bitcoin forum members will suggest complex ways that they do not even practice themselves, just to sound technical.

Trying to make things complex can make things difficult for you.
714  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that visionary leaders make great CEOs? on: November 29, 2023, 03:15:21 PM
My point is visionary leaders do not make great CEO. I believe the success of a company should not solely rely on the charisma and vision of one leader but should be built on a foundation of effective teamwork and inclusive decision-making. Do you support this argument?
I will rather say Visionary leaders do not always make great CEO's because since not all visionary leaders have the opportunity of heading a company, it is not a sure statement. There could actually be visionary leaders who would have made great CEO's, but because they never had the chance, we will never know. Visionary leader who actually understand people management can make great CEO's because that is also required. With a proper understanding of people management skills, your staffs will be kept happy, and happy staffs are productive staffs.
715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sometimes betting is just ridiculous. Sometimes it is complete nonsense. on: November 29, 2023, 02:51:55 PM
I understand that this is fake and was made for a joke. But some people dont know what jokes should be ended or are inappropriate... However, since some casinos have "special" section in sports betting (why this is in sports betting anyway?), and allow to place bets on election outcome, or on Oscar winner, or on music event like Eurovision, I would not be much surprised that in 5 or 10 years we would really have such absurd betting options. And most important what scares me, that casinos will hide behind "there is a demand on such betting" and there really be people who will find this demanding.
I am not surprised by this because there are people with weird interest and fantasies. If there are people who bet on underground illegal cage fights where people fight to their deaths, or other extreme reality games, I will not be surprised about people betting on war and crisis.

People who will bet on these kinds of termed sports have some mental disorder that they are either aware of or not aware of.
716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: November 29, 2023, 02:27:56 PM
So you see, those who are preaching that you can't win in gambling, this is for you!
I do not think anyone ever had this belief, it is mostly that winning such large amounts can be difficult, but not impossible.

You don't win if you don't try, this gambler for sure kept trying on playing "bet builder", probably even on "parlay", and finally one day he made himself a millionaire.
It is one thing to become a millionaire, and another thing to remain a millionaire. Quick and unexpected money is often prone to wasteful spending, and many gamblers who win these kinds of amounts from gambling may not remain millionaires in less than 12 months.

For the gambler who was lucky and won millions from a very small bet, now that he is a millionaire, the money he uses to gamble will increase.
717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Authorities Are Not Smart Enough to Do This on: November 28, 2023, 10:19:24 PM
The two strategies, in my estimation, for dealing with Bitcoin are to fix fiat currency and, second, to promote an approach of ignoring Bitcoin rather than attacking it. In the first strategy, all the authorities need to do is to address the issues facing traditional fiat currencies. I bet if they can do this successfully, individuals will be less motivated to seek alternatives like investing in Bitcoin. I say this with utmost certainty because, in my country Nigeria, one of the major reasons why we are ranked among the top 10 countries in the world with the highest rate of crypto adoption is because of the instability of our national currency, high inflation rate, poor and deteriorating economic conditions, and lack of transparency in the financial systems leading to distrust in traditional financial institutions. If they can fix these shortcomings in traditional financial systems, Bitcoin will be less appealing to us. I know this is not exclusive to my country only.
The shortcomings only affect you and me, to the corrupt officials of the government, they are unaffected, hence do not care about making the situation of things too better and out of their control.

In their unconcern to remedy the shortcomings with our fiat, they indirectly promote bitcoins.

More mistake from them was to flaunt CBDC's, because that also has brought about comparison that finally ends with people seeing bitcoins as better.
718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Guys, what's the best Bitcoin wallet for PC these days? on: November 28, 2023, 09:04:09 PM
I'm looking for something that's safe of course.
Working with Windows.
Together with the safest wallet that will be recommended to you, do not fail on your own side to be safety conscious since you now have a laptop with your bitcoin wallet, and now at risk of being hacked.
- Be careful of the links you click on the internet and links sent via emails'
- Learn to turn off your computer occasionally because

I don't have both, which is why getting Watkins is a better option; we all know how deadly the Aston Villa attackers are, and Watkins is constantly getting involved.
Watkins is a choice to consider, he is having the best season of his career, and very involved in Aston Villa games. His goal against Tottenham was spectacular and too quick for Guglielmo Vicario who is not easy to beat from a distance. Watkins would have even had two goals had one goal not been cancelled.

Another Aston villa player who even earned me better points than Watkins despite his goal is Douglas Luiz.

With the quantity of goal scoring chances he got every game, Darwin may have been the closest thing to Halaand in terms of attacking returns if only his finishing touches were as good as Halaand's.
Darwin and Mudyrk are so similar, so much potentials, but still so much to learn. I hope the best for them both in the future.
720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do I find a Balance Here? on: November 27, 2023, 08:30:15 PM
How do I find a balance between supporting this business that just started accepting Bitcoin and adhering to my investment strategy of long-term hodling?
Find the balance by accepting that you are fulfilling the purpose of bitcoins, and try to readjust your plans to fit in both options.

It will not hurt to spend some few bitcoins on some little things once in a while. You will never find balance in your heart if your plan for bitcoin remains to hodl 100%, you have to find and create some allocation for it in percentage in your plan, not just 100% for Hodling, and then 0% for use as currency.
