701  Economy / Speculation / Re: lol now the bot use 0.07 on: January 15, 2012, 10:00:59 PM
Must have figured .0123 wasnt cutting it. .07 also executes orders faster if they are trying to stealthily achieve a position.
702  Economy / Speculation / Re: The rocket is secretly taking off. $8 price target within 18 hours on: January 15, 2012, 09:59:20 PM
The difference between $8 and $9 is 15k BTC too so that could all happen very quickly. Just like the rise to 7.
703  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's looking a bit bearish right now on: January 15, 2012, 09:47:34 PM
The only way there are hidden asks is if they are on Bitcoinica. I see 5K right around there and that seems pretty strong to me. a 20k buy would smash through 7.20 though and we would be off to new highs.

Have you retracted your original hypothesis in this thread yet?
704  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: January 15, 2012, 06:36:41 PM
where the slope to $8.00 is smooth?

I fell out of my chair...

OK, maybe not then...

It's just that so much will change before we get even close to that. The real resistance between here and even up to $7.30 is pretty strong. It is not the kind of thing that moves without some big buys coming through, and when that happens all hell breaks loose. We are not going to creep up on it all quiet like.

As a matter of fact, if I were a large investor/trader looking to increase my position on BTC now would be a good time to do it because you can buy a lot without moving the price much. Right now it is looking to me that it could take some $800,000 to break $7.30.

Now the 7.2 $ resistance is down to only 24 k BTC = 150 k $, not that much anymore...

I guess this means we are going above 7.20 in all likelihood then. We just need one big buy and we will be on our way to $8.
705  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's looking a bit bearish right now on: January 15, 2012, 06:35:27 PM
I have a buy order for 9BTC at 6.27 if we head that low but it is looking less and less likely. I am sure I am like many other people who sold some coins in that I plan to buy more if they go down. This adds support and the longer we stay above $6 the firmer the support will become. I would welcome a temporary drop just for buying just like so many here.
706  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's looking a bit bearish right now on: January 15, 2012, 06:15:14 PM
We just failed to hit new lows in this wave so the crash is cancelled. Continue on with the current price range.

This is similar behavior we had around 4 on our way up to 7. There is always the possibility we are about to launch to $11.
707  Economy / Speculation / Re: I guess lots of geeks got their bonus before Christmas and bought bitcoin on: January 15, 2012, 08:35:39 AM
Not sure what to make of that but I can admit when Im wrong. A direct link might have been better to use in the first place.
708  Economy / Speculation / Re: 83% of Mt. Gox trades were from Bitcoinica (in last 24 hours) on: January 15, 2012, 08:10:36 AM
no spreads effect

Right, I had forgotten about that.  Zhou runs a one-day-only special and acts surprised that the volume increased on that day.  I suppose I'm surprised it's over 50%, too, but if you ever wanted to close out a position or start a new one, then today was the day.

+1

Ah yes, one that cooks, cleans and is a whore in the bedroom. That is not a good wife but a perfect one lol.

Only thing that comes up under Gavin is your post. I smell some BS.
711  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gearing up for tomorrow on: January 15, 2012, 08:03:40 AM
It is relevant because people who watch the show might start mining shortly thereafter
712  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitscalper anyone use this ? on: January 15, 2012, 03:57:42 AM
Seems a bit too risky for me but if they are doing arbitrage (which is implied with their methodology) then it could very well be legitimate.

With the cap at 5% any profit over this would be theirs so that would be their profit margin. However they would not be able to guarantee balances so this is why it seems fishy and I wont be depositing one Satoshi either. From what I see was earned yesterday I earned about 12% yesterday with the market fluctuations so it appears I am doing better on my own.
713  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gearing up for tomorrow on: January 15, 2012, 03:52:30 AM
I would like to correct myself. There could be some instant reaction and that would be evident in the global hash rate. It is easy enough for someone to download GUIMiner and join a pool so this could happen during or shortly after the show. They might not have an ideal graphics card or may only try cpu mining but some people will probably try it out cuz of the show if there is enough detail on it.
714  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gearing up for tomorrow on: January 15, 2012, 03:48:36 AM
That is correct. If there are new users it will take them a day or two to look it up then up to a week to decide whether or not to invest and then another couple days for the transfer of money into MTGox. There will be no direct rise from the show but for the next couple weeks after is anyone's guess.
715  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Way to Spot Fake Walls? on: January 15, 2012, 02:50:15 AM
Many have questioned whether or not Zhoutong is doing this. Its hard to say either way but those who keep a lot of money on that site are putting a lot of faith in him.
716  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the Good Wife episode cause a noticeable bump in Google Trends? on: January 14, 2012, 10:40:32 PM
Inflation sucks and my wages also havent gone up at all in the past 4 years. As for gas, well when I moved to the big city I had to get rid of my cars because I apparently live in the most expensive part of the country for insurance. As for the old argument on guns, it wasnt illegal to own guns as long as you are properly licensed so that saying is false. What it does provide is incentive to lock up your guns and to make them not easily accessible (for thieves).

On the opposite end of the spectrum I have seen crazy shit with guns in the states. People driving around with AK-47s and enough ammo to start a war every day. In detroit its just crazy how many gunfights there are every day and how many shootings go on. Like I said I love shooting guns but definitely feel safer with the regulation.
717  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the Good Wife episode cause a noticeable bump in Google Trends? on: January 14, 2012, 10:06:05 PM
Yeah the booze tax is silly but that is the law. The law mandates that minimum alcohol prices must rise with inflation. At least in the case of that the money goes into ontario's coffers which pays for health care. Ultimately it is a voluntary tax buying booze which fundamentally I don't have a problem with.

Another stupid thing is the LGR. You have to register your cat, dog and car but not your guns now. The outright destruction of this information is what is truly wasting money because if we decide in the future to reinstate it the cost would be outrageous. And don't get me wrong I love to shoot guns but you can never be too careful when it comes to firearms.

Any progress Canada has made over the past 4 years is thanks to the people and not any government.
718  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the Good Wife episode cause a noticeable bump in Google Trends? on: January 14, 2012, 09:34:56 PM
in Canada...TV watches you

Im sure if our current leader had his way they would.

Ehhhhh!

I have some respect for Harper, Canada has done wonders in the last 4 years..

But I do see what your saying..

In Canada, Film Board Pays YOU!

I watched an episode of the littlest hobo the other day...  havent saw that show in 25 years!

Bittenbob, where abouts are ya ?

Toronto. I give Harper 0 credit because he gets credit for all of Martin's fiscal policies. If it were not for his banking regulations that Harper would have done away with given the chance then we would have been right in the shitter with the USA/ The intrusions into privacy and his stupid dumb on crime omni bus crime bill are going to set this country back generations. He wants to lock up small time pot growers longer than child rapists (MMS for pot will be higher than rape). It is truly a dark period in our countries history.

people watch these shows for the limbic system hack:
they get their emotions driven!

Notice they do not watch it for financial advice.

I personally have never googled anything after a series except the series wiki perhaps.

No offense, but your not the norm, try watching something engaging, something educational.. and then maybe you will google things after..

Watching the Simpsons isnt exactly engaging..

While unfortunately, I do think he is "the norm" I do also believe there are enough people who will google it and talk about it over the "water cooler" to increase bitcoin awareness.

Buy some bitcoins now before they're all gone!  haha

I talk about it around the coffee machine (water cooler so to speak) at work. This is actually how i learned of it and am up to about 18 BTC. I now hold more BTC than the person who introduced me and I have introduced a few others. Its very easy to see how Bitcoins could go viral.

Also telflone I am Canadian too. GO CANUCKS!
