701  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy? on: January 11, 2017, 03:12:57 PM
The public bank of china or whatever they call it, has already made their statement about how they want to make bitcoin more stable and less prone to scams in the exchanges (which ironically triggers a panic sell). Now the have used this to trigger this crash, after this is done and exchanges become officially regulated, the panic selling should be over and the price will continue climbing. Looks like we may be finding a bottom soon. It may be 790 or may be not tho. So gamble on.......
Read about how the Chinese have thwarted a huge pyramid scheme yesterday and it was to be said in the billions of dollars. So this is the reason they have policed the exchanges now? Because now they are aware that their own exchanges are "prone" to scams?
So this regulation made all the shady people who were part of these scams pull all their money out or the Chinese authorities just confiscate the millions that were in these exchanges then causing this whirlwind of decreasing the bitcoin price?
702  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy at $780-800 USD on: January 11, 2017, 03:05:24 PM
someone once said a nice sentence to me, he said whales dumping coins like this is a good chance for everyone else to get in bitcoin before they buy back again. and this way coins will be distributed more and more every time this happens.
That is a nice way to see it in a different light for this malestorm while it is happening.
It does give pause to just take a breath and carry forward.
I also think it is an opportune time to buy some while it is back at this price because it is bound to bounce back to the levels that we saw last week at over the grand line.
That is for certain and we should all keep our wits about us when things like this happen and they do happen often in this bitcoin market of price volatility.
703  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the sudden fall to $700s after stable $900s? on: January 11, 2017, 02:33:41 PM
The Problem is 1/3 of BTC Volume is from Chinese.
If we lost this support Bitcoin will Bounce in 200 to 300 Dollar Range
This is a sad reality for bitcoin: The one that holds the most volume governs how it rises and how much it falls. They can make it fall if the one pulling the strings decides to make a rule that will force all the ones that hold bitcoin and there are alot of microcosm in china to either fold or sell them. So it is literally in those individuals hands of what happens to the price. Whether it rises on any given day or if falls like it is now.
Just how far it will fall is the question that is on everybodys minds.
704  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin exceed its all-time-high of almost $1300 in the near future? on: January 11, 2017, 04:49:00 AM
If it keeps dipping back below $900 again then it is hard to say if it will reach beyond $1300 anytime soon because it is having a hard time right now just keeping itself above where it is now.
This going up and down at that price is really nerve racking for those that are on the fence to hold or to sell.
Now if it was closer to that market cap. Then I would be in the positive to be in favor of saying that it will because it is closer to the $1000 barrier that is just a mental constraint to most that watch the price as shown last week in the media. Just look at the headlines in your local newspaper and news report on tv and you will see what I am talking about. I think even Time magazine was going to have bitcoin featured on their cover for this month.
705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Marketplaces in your country/region that accept Bitcoin? on: January 11, 2017, 04:02:00 AM
There use to be when the bitcoin price was above $1000 per coin like it is now but over the past 3 years they all the sudden vanished. I think they didn't see it sustainable with it being under that amount per coin. But now that the price is back to that level (well almost) I would assume that they will return and continue where they left off some many years ago. Since they see it as profitable again.
706  Economy / Speculation / Re: Some power is like holding bitcoin price on 900 usd? on: January 10, 2017, 10:20:44 PM
What do you expect to happen to the value after trumps inauguration ?
People have said for weeks that it did not make a difference for the better with the price of bitcoin so what makes you think that this would?
We will see in 10 days from now if that agreement by the majority here still holds merit.
If it does go up on January 20th from where it lies now at $900 what will they have to say then? They were wrong? Roll Eyes
I for one think that their were other factors involved and that was not one of them because he don't acknowledge bitcoin at all.
He is old money and they stick together no matter what new money comes along because that is all they know and ever will know until they die.
Warren Buffet included.
He still thinks that bitcoin is a farce that should be eliminated before it gets to far and the people whom are using it gets scammed out of their life savings.
707  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is there a BTC rate disparity e.g. CoinDesk, CoinTelegraph, Poloniex, Kraken on: January 10, 2017, 10:04:43 PM
That's because they are all separate entities concentrated to the same thing - the bitcoin market price.
You notice when you check the price on preev you get the average price among the bitfinex and bitstamp price? You can click on those two at the top and see them clearly shown and the bitfirex one is always the larger of the two.
Every exchange has their own price but it should not deviate from being 5-8% difference of each other or there are problems.
You check the price on yobit lately. Now that is way off but most on here will tell you that is not a real exchange compared to the bigger ones that you have mentioned. So it does not count. So go figure. Undecided
708  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC wallet with interest? on: January 10, 2017, 08:25:50 PM
There is this one which offers 2.35% on BTC deposits
https://magnr.com/

Other related sites are
https://www.facebook.com/HelloMagnr/

https://twitter.com/magnr

They seem a solid company but you never know in the crypto world.
Do your own research before investing
It does seem that they have reduced their rate of interest by a percent and a bit because of the increase of bitcoin price but from now
Magnr claims to give 1.28% interest on your bitcoins being held within your member account with them. So as an example they say you get 0.128btc over a year if you hold 10 bitcoin with them.
It doesn't seem like a lot but to the ones that put in more than 50 btc that is quite a bit but that is a year of holding it in that wallet so that is a long time to put trust in a company these days to even know if they will be around in that amount of time. Undecided
709  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-01-09]EGD scam cracked down in China 10.9 billion yuan involved on: January 10, 2017, 05:44:59 PM
10.9 billion? Even if that is in their currency that is 10,900,000,000 CNY = 1,574,651,384.17USD
so that is alot of money going down in this this pyramid scheme.
Where do those frozen funds go to? The government confiscates that or does it go somewhere else. A detention area? They have holding areas in these police departments where the money that is taken to from drug busts and cases like those crackdowns.
And yes Chinese are known to be notorious for scams occurring because they are really greedy people when there is anything to do with money/wealth because they see it as power like scarface did.
But power and greed for money does corrupt people which this sorry clearly shows is happening in that country. Undecided
710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: January 10, 2017, 03:00:39 PM
The funny thing is coinbase allows you to buy bitcoin with paypal if your account if verified and same with your account with them. For certain countries of course.
This wasn't a surprise since they are the biggest company that has any sort of connections to do with bitcoin and had enough capital to throw at paypal to have them take on this association with them.
They must of seen that they were losing out on the potential sales of bitcoin going on behind the scenes with the ones paying for bitcoins with paypal on the ce section.
711  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is there a website buying giftcards for BTC? on: January 10, 2017, 02:00:43 PM
You can search the google if you like. I have come across some sites that deal with bitcoin giftcards. Though I am not very particular how it works since I have no interest in them but since you ask it I am sharing this sites with you. It will be up to you to decide whether this are the sites you are looking for or not. This are the list;

1. gyft.com
2.bitcoin.giftcard.com
3. egifter.com/bitcoin

Feel free to check it out.

Thx for the list bud, appreciate the effort. However, all these websites offer to BUY giftcards for BTC while I d like to sell them. I ve found some people on other forums offering 92% Paypal, gift option. We ll see if that s credible enough but I d still prefer some company.
Yes he is selling giftcards that is why I was thinking purse was not the right website for what you were trying to do here.
With my experience of buying giftcards I have noticed that most people sell them at 20-25% off their face value so I wouldn't give in to the ones who are offering you 92% for them using paypal because those are the ones that usually buy and then charge back for them later.
This is my option on trying to sell them on any type of forum.

to 0x0010: added a link to the thread that i was mentioning about how op can get scammed by using purse.io and that is a valid argument of why that should not be considered in his or anybody who is deciding to use their service.
712  Economy / Collectibles / Re: casascius brass coin error 1btc on: January 10, 2017, 01:54:55 PM
What is the error on the coin? I am not to familiar with coins and how they should look from each stock.
But instantly recognized this one immediately because this is what everyone is using even the media when they show a bitcoin on their news reels lately. Grin
Next question is:
These loaded with any bitcoin on it? Or do they come "blank".
I ask because from the photos it looks like there is a private key on it. Undecided
713  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Surface Pro 4 i5/256bg/8g with Alcantara Cover and Surface Dock on: January 10, 2017, 01:46:41 PM
Was waiting for the photos to be posted as stated earlier and thought you would post them at the same time as the other hardware that you said you were going to post links of the description as well but I was wrong. Undecided
Could you post the photos so others may see the condition that this product is in.
Then we the buyers can make a more definite choice in whether we want we want to buy or not.
Atleast now we have an idea how much shipping would be coming from the last location you posted in your previous selling thread. Smiley
714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Venezuelans Turn to Bitcoin to Escape Financial Hardships on: January 10, 2017, 01:42:33 PM
It does look like the rise in the price above the $1000 USD level made these countries that were arresting people for using it like the ones who were mining made them turn a new way thinking on where they should stand on what bitcoin is and not just trying to fight the benefit of allowing it within their borders off.
715  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: BTC.com | BITCOIN WALLET | BLOCK EXPLORER | API | MINING POOL on: January 10, 2017, 05:56:05 AM
This website safe to store a large amount of bitcoins Huh
I have used blockchain's web wallet for a long time and am getting worried that it will not be up one day when I want to access my bitcoins held in their wallet and will lose someday lose the substantial amount of bitcoin that I have there.

As long as you have the documents they gave you when you first made the wallet (the PDF) then you should be fine , even If they get hacked the hackers won't be able to do much as It's a multi signature wallet and thats not the case for blockchain.info where the hacker will have access to the wallet.dat and start cracking them.
Okay then. Then it is a safer alternative then blockchain.info wallet is to use. Cause I didn't quite know how multi signature wallets worked but looking into it now. Was looking into it with the downloadable ones that I was looking at and they have alot of features that do make your wallet more secure from such intrusions as you have mentioned.
716  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS - (10) 390x - Powercolor, Sapphire, Asus on: January 10, 2017, 05:42:06 AM
What version are the cards? 8GB or the 4GB versions.
The price for the first 5 I am guessing they are the 8gbs.
But just want to confirm before putting any offers for them.
Where would they be shipping from and you are taking offers right?
Shipping would be included with this offers maybe? Embarrassed
717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: January 10, 2017, 05:29:05 AM
I seriously thought that Cavs were going to lose that game with the Suns last night.
It was going to be Golden state just the night all over again being up 20 points just to lose it in the end. But it did not happen. Lebron kicked it up and closed the door on any sort of come back.
That's what makes Lebron James better than the entire Steph Curry team. Warriors are good at the start of the game but in crucial situation, you can always rely on Lebron James. But that's fine, the game is very entertaining actually since young guns of Phoenix suns have stepped up.

Meanwhile, seems like the bulls are not competing well against the thunder, they are down big now going to the fourth quarter, I hope they'll bounce again.
They don't have a reliable finisher like you mentioned that the cavaliers have in lebron james or Kyrie Irving and the warriors have with steph curry or klay thompson. The bulls just don't have that. You know how many times I have watched a bulls game and see Jimmy butler and Dwyane Wade not being able to close it out like the above mentioned? Too many to count really.
And it looks like the same thing happened in the windy city tonight when they went against the thunder.Lips sealed
718  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is there a website buying giftcards for BTC? on: January 10, 2017, 05:09:17 AM
I thought everybody was using purse.io for that?
Or was that buying the giftcards for your btc?
I remember somebody posting about something about how purse scammed them but since I don't use them I didn't bother to click on that post to read more into it.
Giftcards are an iffy thing to buy online since the balances on them can be verified from the buyer until they purchase them and you know how btc purchases go when you send the funds first.

edit: Here is the thread that I remember reading just before Christmas about purse and them defrauding their users out of amazon gcs when transferring to btc.

719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to Face Reality in 2017 ... on: January 10, 2017, 04:36:34 AM
But wasn't this the very same rhetoric when it first came into being?
The nay sayers and the ones that said it will never be worth more than the fifty cents people were offering them per BTC.
That was 8 years ago and it has exploded from that initial market value. It is even rivaling gold's price just a week ago.
That has to account for something if not some praise instead of this disdain for it's existence.
