1161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEver keep all your coins on an exchange on: August 05, 2016, 10:30:03 PM
Gox
Cryptsy..

If you have most of your coins in Bitfinex.. there will be little mercy when they disappear.

You called it! Shocked
The warning was there if they did not believe you.
I stumbled on this 1.5 month old thread and was surprised what you said.
It was a revelation!  Cheesy

But on a serious note. Exchanges are not to be trusted with your coins.
The rule in using them should be this:
Trade them, gain from them and get them the flock out of there!  Grin
1162  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin replaces the money? Could happen? on: August 05, 2016, 10:25:05 PM
I don't think rushing into such change will be a viable option. Especially when it comes to dealing with money. If it did at some point replace the world's currencies then it would be a gradually and not all at once. People tend to test the waters when it comes to something that can cost them in the long run.
1163  Economy / Auctions / Re: Used female panty on: August 05, 2016, 10:00:43 PM
Ok, this should win thread of the year! Or at least thread of the month. Over the top guys. NOW, if OP sells panties worn by his mom, AND they sell, that would be HUGE.

ROTF!
Thread of the month. Really?
I thought that would go to the 10k giveaway but that was not content driven like this one has been. That  one just has the most hits and views in a 36 hour period until it was closed.
This one is still opened and getting replies even after the item has been sold.
This is one of those priceless threads that should get it's own plague for shock value alone. Lips sealed
1164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling has killed me (money vanished) on: August 05, 2016, 03:59:49 PM
^^
Your right connecting those two threads he did not heed the advice he was given and paid a hefty price for it indeed!  Lips sealed
Losing 1BTC for nothing is not something to just brush under the rug. And in that amount of time to lose it makes it even a greater loss. Undecided
1165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever won a unexpected amount with a small amount ? on: August 05, 2016, 02:43:17 PM
I did once but it was 100% luck because I put it on a number on the roulette table and it hit. I put quite a bit because I was just about done that night. So it was pure luck that I got that fairly big win of 35x my bet amount on that one number. It was a shock to me to say the least.  Grin
1166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your reason to gamble? Fun or profit? on: August 05, 2016, 02:41:11 PM
I use to gamble for fun but after a while it loses it's luster. Undecided
So I try and put a wager on smart bets. Those are usually profitable but the odds are quite low. But better to bet on a wise bet and taking little to no risk then betting on a 50/50 bet and taking high risk then losing big. That to me is no fun at all! Angry
1167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: August 05, 2016, 02:10:34 PM

It's a shame for Atletico that they lost in 2 recent CL Finals. It's almost like they're just not supposed to win it.

That just shows how good they are, not every team can get into the finals of champions league easily so they should be appreciated. Compare to the other team, they are still actually below the others like barcelona and real madrid however they managed to made it to the finals and beat barcelona last season
They are so close but just not there yet. It is in fingers reach to get a cup. Just need that extra incentive to get it that's all. An offensive start player to fill that gap that they desperately need is the only answer to their question of becoming a finals cup winner! Grin
1168  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Campaign on: August 05, 2016, 02:08:02 PM
Its all about marketing, promotion, advertising. What signature campaigns really means is exactly that, promotion of something. How can someone gain from that is easy to explain, more people will hear about them and they will have chance to make nice profit with that.

*Earlier this year, Coca-Cola CEO Muhtar Kent pledged to increase media spending and brand-building initiatives by up to $1 billion by 2016. Coca-Cola spends $565 million on advertising in the U.S., according to Ad Age Datacenter. The company reported spending $3.3 billion on advertising globally in 2013.
*That last one is breathtaking. According to their own Fiscal Reports, Nike spent $3.031 billion on what they call “Demand Creation.” Nike's a little fuzzy on what that means (marketing can be anything from a TV ad buy to a collaboration with a niche shop).

Now you can see how small is this forum, I know we cant compare with this big companies, but this is very good example why companies invest so much in advertising.
I will say that The Rio Games 2016 will be a major marketing event to have these companies who want to promote their brand.
Who is the official soft drink company for them? Is that why you mention Coca-cola in your post as an example? I think they own the soft drink sponsorship of the Olympics for all time.
1169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling has killed me (money vanished) on: August 05, 2016, 02:04:30 PM
In ten seconds to lose it all? That is not a smart way of betting if you ask me.
But that was your money so I am in no place to tell you what to do with it.
You know it is time to stop if you had such a story happen to you. Roll Eyes
1170  Economy / Gambling / Re: [WiseBet - The World's Very First BTC IRC Gambling Channel - 2 BTC Giveaway] on: August 05, 2016, 02:02:35 PM
Wow Shocked
People still use IRC chat channels? I thought since the internet came along those died off with the BBS board system.
We have forums to replace BBSes and another messaging systems that do better than IRC can do now.
Anyways good luck with your venture into gambling! There is a niche there I hope. Wink
1171  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITFINEX crashed, bitcoin price falls. Will it recover? on: August 05, 2016, 02:57:13 AM
probably the same as the case mtgox, when prices are falling. it will surely recover, but I do not know how long it takes, I hope that rapid rise, not too long at low prices.

the most important thing is the fact of how many coins there are stolen. if it's a relatively low number of below 1000btc, then i am sure the market will go up again. but if there are like 20,000-50,000btc stolen, then i think we won't see the price recover any time soon. let's wait for more statements from bitfinex.
So the definite number of bitcoins stolen haven't been correct? There was 119,756 bitcoins stolen from reports that is why there was a huge upset in the bitcoin price. Thus that is why the recover time nearly 24 hours to become fairly stable at $590 now. So  I think you got your numbers of the amount that was taken wrong.
1172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Late baseball play 8/4 on: August 05, 2016, 02:45:02 AM
It is about time for Boston to lose at least one game. So tonight just might be your night. Just hope that Big Papi and Mookie don't have a hitting streak tonight and you should be okay with it.
But Settle is Settle so don't expect to much out of them really. Wink
But best of luck to you in the next 20 minutes when the game starts! Smiley

Bro I am a seattle fan and that hurts...
Mariners... mmmmmmarinersssssss! Are losing in the bottom of the 2nd. So sorry for you hurt feelings but they are the Mariners. Undecided
Don't know what to say except it is still early! Tongue
So best of luck to them!  Wink

1175  Economy / Gambling / Re: Steemit.com article about Dragon's Tale - MMORPG casino based game on: August 04, 2016, 02:31:45 AM

1176  Economy / Speculation / Re: 350 USD in August on: August 03, 2016, 11:56:32 PM
It is August now and we are well above the predicted amount that the OP has mentioned.
It was a shocker yesterday as most thought it would reach under $500 today but it has recovered and is well back to what it was before the said incident of bitfinex happened.
So now not to worry about seeing it reach $350 this month. I am pretty confident it won't since it weathered the storm pretty nicely so far. Wink
1177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: August 03, 2016, 11:52:38 PM
Invest but only in a system that you can surely say you can trust 100%.
Because if you don't it is just as good as gambling with your money anyways. Undecided
And gambling is not a 100% guarantee that you will ever see that money ever again. But in this case your bitcoin ever again. Embarrassed
1178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Bitfinex Hacked] So , learned the lesson ? on: August 03, 2016, 11:50:33 PM
No lesson learn from this for people will continue to use exchanges and store most if not all there coins in their exchange wallets. So this will happen again and again and again. That is the way human nature is. It is just a never ending cycle of insanity as this is what the definition of it is. Repeating the same mistake over and over again expecting a different result. Undecided

No matter how people adjust, exchanges are the most convenience means of trading or converting their coins.  If you are selling  your coins, would you withdraw it the  moment you log out?  I bet no because  you'll be waiting for it to be converted or bought and before withdrawing them.
Kind of makes sense but why risk it is all I am asking.  Huh

There has to be a better platform to do this on where not all your coins that you have invested are at stake if the system is comprised in anyway.
1179  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 2016 Summer Olympics - Bitcoin Betting on: August 03, 2016, 11:47:45 PM
I would like to bet on the basket ball and football matches as well.
Might try a parlay on some of them because this is the were the winners are from qualifying so you know they will be playing for keeps to secure that gold medal in the finals!
No half steam in the teams that are in this one. This is for pride and country! Smiley

Let the games begin! Cool
On Friday that is. Grin
1180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How about this for a winning run ($7600 made this evening) on: August 03, 2016, 11:45:17 PM
Wow, nice run, OP. Very impressive.

And LOL at posters trying to give advice to OP on how he should manage his bankroll. Too funny.
even though i must agree that it is impressive i think he was just lucky and if he is going to keep on playing then he would just lose all his bitcoins
But he says that he has a helper in his predictions.
Allah gives him the advice on which ones will win and score the most or least amount of goals.
If you can't trust your inner voice who can you trust? Grin
