701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A major flaw with Bitcoin on: June 16, 2015, 06:21:55 AM
Really, that's odd, because everytime I smell a PCB about to burn out or an overheated video card I think of Bitcoin.

yeah this. the acrid metallic twinge I whiffed right before my BFL 60Ghs miner gave up the ghost... combusting circuitry and burning dust. Like napalm in the morning.

fiat just smells like sweaty hands and desperation... unless you are sniffing a Canadian 100$ bill.. smells like maple syrup.
702  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: ASICminer & FriedCat - what to do on: June 15, 2015, 11:00:37 PM
its china, just pay someone to go break his legs.
Or grease the palm of an official to have him picked up and disappear in the jails.
I wouldn't go so far as hiring a goon, but alerting the authorities is definitely a possibility. I don't really know which authority to go to, and how to bridge the language barrier. I am going to speak to the consulate and see if they can help me find the right people to complain to. I understand China takes a very hard line against nationals who embezzle and defraud, even more so when they cheat foreigners. Something about bringing shame to the nation.
I'd love to see that skinny nerd FC thrown into a Chinese gulag. He can farm WoW gold for the rest of his life. Put his 'puter skills to work. Hopefully they'll just shoot him.

Wasn't someone here speculating he has gone to work for BitFury? I'm sure they would keep that info on the downlow but if we could "out" him as working there, or anywhere for that matter, it would tank their value. Not that I'm out to ruin any companies, I would just like to make FC 100% unemployable. He should be a pariah across the industry. He really let us down and I for one want him to pay, in every respect!
703  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are we rising? (speculation) on: June 15, 2015, 10:39:47 PM
I'm not considering anything a "rise" until we pass 300 and continue upwards. A couple of bucks is nothing. Business as usual.
704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: anyone read this article: The scam called Bitcoin? on: June 15, 2015, 08:19:57 PM
It's an opinion piece not reporting, and the author obviously hates BTC. I use the comparison of cell phones when I see this sort of shortsighted FUD. Everybody hated mobile phones when they and out (in the1980s) there was no end of negativity. Op-Ed pieces decrying cellular phones as unecesary and obnoxious, a terrible idea that would never catch on. Look where that got them. Save these articles, it will be fun defaming the authors in years to come... I still have a copy of Rolling Stone from the 90s with a cover showing Limp Biscuit declaring them "the Future of Rock" ... Idiots
705  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: June 15, 2015, 07:58:44 PM
Fraud and embezzlement are really the best crimes to commit (if you're a crook) because you really never have to pay it back. You might do a little time, but what's a few months in jail when you've taken millions and millions of dollars?
Of course that's the western world. These assholes are in China. I'm sure they would face a firing squad which I personally would love to see. Send your complaints and any info about FC to the Chinese cops. You'll never see any money, let's at least see vengeance
706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Freezing BitCoin addresses by regulating miners on: June 14, 2015, 06:24:32 AM
They were talking about a proposed blacklist but it applied to "tainted" coins themselves, not addresses. Any coin that has been proven to changed hands illegally, through theft or scam, could be tagged and refused by miners. Problem is user one could send blacklisted coin to another in exchange for w/ever but user two would never receive the coin as it would be rejected. Also the holders of the blacklist could use it or exploit it to their gain.

Check page 13 of this pdf for more info (middle of pg 13)

http://www.hbs.edu/faculty/Publication%20Files/15-015_2ef1a2dd-633d-494e-b47c-86cdc1dcad04.pdf

There's a entire white paper about blacklisting coins but I can't find it.

Anyway, the idea seems to have too many holes. I don't think it's viable to blacklist addys because crooks will just use new wallets every time...
707  Economy / Speculation / Re: [prediction] Next spike $560,000 14 months from now on: June 14, 2015, 05:31:33 AM
The only problem is; no one seems to be able to agree what caused the last spike to ATH. China and their BS volumes? Speculative bubble? Willy Bot? Sure BTC can skyrocket exponentially, we've witnessed that, but it appears it was rising to a false valuation.

I also do not understand The equation OP used to reach his conclusion. I'd love to see a crazy spike and even more fun if it appears out of nowhere... I just don't see it happening in any true market driven way any time soon (next couple years)

Lovely prediction though. A kid can dream, eh?
708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it? on: June 12, 2015, 06:27:26 PM
I've told all my friends, and they've seen me take profits, are interested, but none has taken the plunge... I really don't know why, i guess they want to stay poor.

The most interest Ive managed to stir up is about the service ascribe.io

its a method to verify the ownership of digital media. I know many artists, quite a few who make digital work, I'm hoping they will use ascribe.io to sell and authenticate their work, I've offered to help them with it, but we shall see if any of them actually get there.

& one more (unrelated) thing... Im L33T! check my post count!!!! 1337 posts!!! KEWL BEENZ!
709  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dusty Rhodes Passes Away At Age 69 on: June 12, 2015, 06:16:40 PM
Dusty was ok, what was his big thing? he was always pumping the common man... those old days of WWF definitely had the best characters. They were also very careful to never call it a "sport" lol. its just show biz.

my favorites were the bushwackers, the undertaker (with paul bearer) and leaping Lanny Poffo, the world's smartest man.

of course, Iron Sheik is LEGEND BUBBA! his twitter account is hilarious! #raisinballs
710  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: freebitco.in - is it even worth it? on: June 12, 2015, 05:59:48 PM
how long have faucets been around?

were there faucets when BTC was worth 15$?

I want to know, because when btc was still at a low value, faucets probably paid out much higher amounts of btc.

what was only pennies a few years ago would be quite a lot now.

it would be the only time faucets have been worth the hassle and time... I guess if btc goes to the moon there will be some happy present day faucet users out there.
711  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-10] Bharara Seeks To Prosecute Silk Road Trial Commenters on: June 12, 2015, 05:48:29 PM
freedom of speech is fine and all, but these comments come of as threats, instigation of violence. I don't care who you're talking about, you need to be civil. there are limits.
712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fiat crashes Bitcoin on: June 12, 2015, 05:40:29 PM

Old Fiat car crashes in Bitcoin broker's office in Montevideo, Uruguay
why is the glass broken so neatly? shouldn't it be shattered all over. it looks like they cut the glass and then put the car there just for the laughs Cheesy

no. tempered glass will break like that. This is the funniest post I've seen in a while on here though. good one!

I'd like to check out Uruguay some time. I know a lot of Germans like to retire there.
713  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-11] ArsTechnica: Jihadist US teen faces prison for blog, tweets about.. on: June 12, 2015, 05:36:06 PM
All these American teens rushing to join ISIS reminds me of the hippy radicals of the 60s who would go "underground" and join the weathermen or the black panthers... kidnap people and throw malatov cocktails... they eventually grew out of it and went on to wall street (the ones who weren't sent to jail.)

Its like something they get all passionate about when they're young but when they get older they are a little more prudent.

I honestly believe these ISIS joining teens are just trying to piss off their parents. Problem is, by the time they are old enough to know better they'll be dead.

back in my day we'd just be punk rockers and act like hooligans... the politics were more anarchist than anything. Who the fuck would want to live in a world run by islamic extremists? where is the pay off? Seems like those guys dont want to have fun, or let any one else have fun either.

Lol you can see what little things like font Color will upset users of this forum. Best to lurk read and participate a bit before joining a sig campaign. Any faux pas you might make will only be amplified if you have an ad in your sig. Besides, if you can improve your rank and become known as a valuable member with constructive info to share you stand to make higher earnings from sig.
As you can see, I am a sig campaign participant, but I only started this year, I've been on this forum for about 3 years. I read far more threads than I post in. It's like a conversation in a public place. If you just say whatever inane things and speak out of turn, people will ignore you, complain about you, you could get banned. It's your discretion.
For quick links to all the news I like to go to my ZeroBlock app. On my iOS. It's a price ticker with charts but also has a News section that aggregates breaking news from here, reddit, all the major mainstream news sources (wSJ, CNN, Forbes, etc) and all the BTC news providers too. It's updated several times a day and is often the first place I hear of any breaking news. It's a free app I recommend it !!

Good luck and welcome to bitcointalk! Do chech out every section too. You never know what you might learn!
715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1992 on: June 10, 2015, 08:28:46 AM
I think you basically pinpointed the logic behind most of the adopters 2012 onward. Cell phones were mocked too when they first hit the market. "Ridiculous" and "you'll never catch me using one of those things!"

Of course, the makers of the first cell phone mobile... What was they called again?

These days I'm wondering if a dark horse crypto might emerge.

Bitcoin boring
716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we being Shamwowed? on: June 10, 2015, 06:41:14 AM
What I'd like to know, Gleb Glabow, is, what is your attraction to this obviously run-of-the-mill btc-China-ponzi-shit-show?
No crime in seeing a crackhead die in the gutter. Just depends how much planning you did to get a firont row seat in a the first place?

No. I make posts all the time and only sometimes are they deleted. I can't imargerine the sort of Mincy prancey panty waste and mincing dimwit who would cry o boo hoo about it
718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we being Shamwowed? on: June 09, 2015, 09:03:25 PM
Ok
This is getting interesting.
Too interesting.

It's funny... 8% annually is pretty good in this climate... Not outrageous, a believable and decent return. Just enough to close a nice long con...

So how long before Bitcoin bank vanishes?
719  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-09]DMT- FarmSatoshi Lets You earn Bitcoin While Playing Farmville Clone on: June 09, 2015, 10:05:54 AM
It keeps reloading the page on my mobile iOS. Needs to be an app. Couldn't look at the game so I can't tell you what I think and I don't actually trust it enough to open it without VM on my PC... But I will tell you, from watching SaruTobi that they ran into all sorts of problems getting approved by AppStore namely; you can't mislead the players, you have to make it very clear that the only btc they get is like a tip. I'll have a better look at this farmville jobby tomorrow.

As far as I know there are very few games that pay btc. SaruTobi this one and game of birds which I have yet to try.
Seems like there's a market for this sort of thing. And as long as it's profitable I guess we'll see more. How does the revenue work? I guess if game becomes popular one could do pretty well but do you need to give away btc if your game is that good? I think I've made about 50 cents from about 10 hrs of SaruTobi (I kinda like SaruTobi)
720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to pack it up on: June 09, 2015, 08:45:17 AM
What bryant.coleman said. Every so often, for years now MC sends a little FUD out there, they probably have a guy copy-writing "news releases" just one of his tasks along with penning promoted tweets and getting the middle managers coffee
