Why do exchanges and companies that offer bitcoins/crypto related services still have security vulnerability that they get hacked? Are they not supposed to be professionals with securing their system, or have learnt from the experience of other companies that were hacked?
There's no professionalism in the altcoins and exchange sector, all they're after is power and market dominance of whatever is left from Bitcoin domination because who controls the market makes the most profits and it's profit hurting they're all after that's why there are lots of inferior projects getting launched but since we're in an unregulated market, nobody is doing anything. Most exchanges/projects that has millions passing through them daily shoudn't have had 1 cent in their market cap because they're just duplicate of already existing ideas with little to no improvement made. We'll keep having hack incident because most projects in the industry are built on a faulty centralized system (server) and instead of allocating money for security upgrades, money are been allocated for marketing to create buzz and hype around the project or platforms to attract more customers for them to make money. The second theory the exchange didn't get hacked at all tho they only wanted to exit scam but this theory only a conspiracy theory hahahh but anything could be happen right?
This is actually happenings because the rate at which projects are getting hacked and disappearing out of the market only points towards inside job and exit scam schemes. Many projects has been doing this and many more will do it in the future that's why we're been discourage from trusting these project because they can crash at any moment and nothing will be done about it. Alot of scammers has rugged pulled their scam tokens and disappear with investors money and nothing can be done. I am aware that KYC may reduce fraudulent activity, however dealing with hacking and security exploitation issues will need investing in the strengthening of security. Adoption could happen quickly with sufficient protection because safety will be assured.
We don't need centralized exchange or other platforms for adoption to happen. Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurency and we'll get adoption in a decentralized manner. Kyc might be said to reduced fraudulent activity but we know that's not the main reason behind all centralized exchange been asked to implement them. They're getting implemented so the government can easily monitor our transaction whenever they want by just requesting the exchange to provide them access. People shouldn't be worried about all the hacks that's happening because if they do things rightly, they won't become victme. Those that are becoming victims are those been ignorant to advice as they keep keeping their coins on exchange and other centralized platforms when it has been said many times to not store coins on exchange. Even though there are still very few trading platforms that have never experienced security exploitation, the recent incident with Houbi should serve as a reminder for everyone to remain attentive and prioritize their security. They'll all have their share of the pie (hack) because they're centralized and just a copy of each other codes meaning if one can get exploited others too will get exploited. Don't trust any of them to store your coins on their platforms. If there's a need to use them, then just use them for the service they were created for which is to exchange and don't do any other things on the platforms. Ignore any juicy offering they're promising and keep your coin in a secured, open source, non custodial wallets and make the security of your investment your top priority instead of giving it to someone else who don't give a fuck about what happens to your coins but only giving fake promises to get more customers onto their exchange to make money. |

I tried to sell bitcoin so I can pay the goods and claimed them. And the time when I made the order to sell bitcoin was are the rate of $26,800 and immediately I made the other the price came down and the buyer cancelled the order and still looked for another buyer to buy the coins so I could buy the carrier agent, the second buyer the same thing, the third buyer the same thing This isn't a fault of using a centralized P2P exchange because if you were using a decentralized one and the marchant wanted to cancel the order they would had still done it. This kind of situations is more about the merchants not wanting to buy your bitcoin because the prices of Bitcoin is dumping. Everyone wants to make profits so when they see a situation that won't profit them, they'll back off. They're doing more demange to their reputation on those exchanges because they get less rating each time they cancel orders so it isn't ideal that Marchant cancel order but when they do it might be for a reason like price crashing or you're using a bank they don't like (did you read their terms & condition to know if your banks isn't supported by them) because most of them have the traditional Nigerian banks blacklisted. Since When I left the place, I was thinking how Centralized Exchange can disappoint your urgent need of cash. I was not really expecting them to treat me like that. I have not experienced such in the p2p system. This has nothing to do with the exchange as I said and maybe next time try to plan ahead of time. If you need money to be used in the evening, try to trade in the morning hours or afternoon so you'll be prepared because alot of things always go wrong when you're in a rush. Maybe you would have had internet issue or some other problem that'll delay your transaction (like pairing with a scam Marchant and your transaction gets delayed) so don't wait for last minutes before you trade when next you want to sell your Bitcoin. |

Sometimes the more quality response don't get noticed and the reason differs based on individual posts like the poster not been a well known user for his quality contributions yet, or those that saw the contributions didn't have smerits at that time to reward the posts so ranking posts based on merit will be an injustice to those quality posts that didn't get merited and as the saying goes, instead of an innocent man to be convicted, let the guilty be set free irrespective of their numbers so instead of one worthy post not been ranked at the top of the relies, let all the less worthy post be there based on it is nwo (first come, first post). This sounds good to me but it may not go well with some other persons, I decided to drop the suggestion here. You did well and here are some reason I feel it won't make sense to sort the thread by merited replies. - Each thread has a flow of discussion like from one discussion (OP) other discussion (subtopics) pops up on that thread and sorting the thread by merit will obstruct the flow of discussion on the thread.
- It'll bring about more merit abuse as people will want their replies to be at the top of the threads so they'll be abusing the merit system often to achieve that.
- It might lead to campaign managers only accepting users that their replies are always top of the thread which will leads to my second point (merit abuse)

I am not saying that personal needs, some challenges, and problems should not be attended to, but there are some secondary and tertiary needs that can be attended to later. Some people are earning well, but they want to settle all their needs before investing in Bitcoin or into something that will be profitable to them in the future. But even the needs they are trying to solve are unending, because the more needs they solve, the more they others evolve in a short time. You can't solve all your problem so it won't be wise trying to solve them as you'll miss the most important things while trying to do so. There are some needs that can be kept for later and when you have enough cash you can go back to the need. We have to learn to manage and that's how to get financial independence because when you sacrifice some less important things, you'll have more spare money to fund your investment in Bitcoin or any other assets that you have your eyes on. Problems are motivation so sometimes keeping them around will motivate you more to hustle so you can get more money and keep yourself comfortable. When you receive your salary, after taking cares of the needs that are very important like Food, shelter and other utility bills, you have to forget about those other things that you think are necessary but they aren't and invest so you can have a comfortable future because when you don't Invest and use that money now you have killed the possibility of that money been invested to generate more income. So, folks, I wish to remind us to always keep to your budget, still hold on to your savings, and invest for the future. Don't always think you can use your entire savings to solve today's problem, forgetting that tomorrow's needs, desires, and problems are going to evolve. The best way to live is to always have a budget for your money before you receive them so when it comes you don't spend them on things that won't add value to your life. You can always keep some spare cash for leisure but they shouldn't be the priority. When you plan yourself, it doesn't matter how little your salary is but it'll look like you're receiving big salary because of your coordination. You should always saved and those savings should be for investment purposes mainly because investment is one of the ways you can generate money to take care of those needs you feel needed taking care of. Investment has been made easier with Bitcoin and you can invest through DCA without having to brank your bank to do so. |

The government have the right to help the citizens and end poverty but due to the constitution, it will be very hard for the government to put an end to poverty. We ourselves, we need to try to make good investment that will pave way for us I'm the future. How does the constitution prevent the government from helping her citizens out of poverty, the government are there to serve and not to enrich each other with public funds. The government can passed laws and policy that'll make the country to be friendly to businesses and when they establish companies in the country, their citizens gets opportunity to be paid as they work one or multiplayer jobs. Poverty can't be totally eliminated though because it has been a part of humanity from the days of the Roman empire to modern day civilization but it can be reduced by providing job opportunities to those that are ready and willing to work. We'll always have those that prefer poverty as they're lazy and won't want to work their ways out of poverty but prefer to be sympathize with and given things. The government should use the public funds and established factories and other institution that'll create job for their citizens. The government are not interested to help anybody to become self sufficient and live a better lifestyle. There are so many things that cam lead to poverty which include war especially like the one of Ukraine and Russia, if things are not being regulated properly, it will be difficult for the people to overcome poverty and live a good lifestyle. The government has nothing to offer to us than to take the little we have. I don't know much about the western world how their politics are been played there but over here, the government intentionally leave people in poverty because it benefits them. Things aren't been done for the masses instead it's been shared with in themselves and their relatives so when they come back for reelection and give little promises they can get the votes of hungry people that'll sell their vote for chicken change so that they can eat for just few days while the politicians return to eating public funds. Poverty can be reduced when the government are interested in doing so because they're expose to unlimited resources to use in achieving structures that will help with reducing poverty in the nation. |

I'm not sure if anyone else feels the same, but this uncertainty with the increasing living costs and the ongoing rat race is causing me excessive stress. You're not alone buddy, same thing is happening all over the world. Here in Africa, poverty is increasing everyday and the cost of things are also increasing. We're suffering more because we don't produce most things we use in my country and the cost of importation has made everything to be expensive. We're a oil producing nation yet we don't refine it but sell it to the westerner and getting back refined fuel that we buy costly. The financial stress happening in my country is the reason you see many of us relocating outside so we can escape the hell we're experiencing in Nigeria. My people are migrating to do minor jobs overseas and that's how they're dealing with their financial stress but I don't buy into the idea of traveling outside to look for greener pastures, I believe the grass can be green where ever you're residing but you just have to water it. The water here can be anything that gives you an advantage to receiving more income like learning a new skill. I don't know, but each year seems progressively worse. It wasn't that bad before COVID-19; now it's the ultimate worst I've seen, and it's about to deteriorate even further. Thankfully, this forum has been a blessing and probably the only thing giving me hope, as it has resulted in me making a decent sum of money in the process. I'm yet to start looking for a job, but salaries are relatively low, despite the increased cost of living. Your observations are correct because COVID-19 did reset everything, many companies haven't been able to recover since then and those that have recovered are having to cut cost by firing their staff and increasing the rate of unemployment and also adding to people financial's problem. The way I handle financial stress is to acquire new digital skills so I can work from home as my expenses increase. Bitcointalk is also contributing to my finances as it helps to handle some little bills that would had been taken from my earnings and now I can use those for more serious financial problem or investment. Investing in Bitcoin is another way I have been able to tackle my financial problems and I'm not just writing this because it sounds right but profits made from investing in Bitcoin has helped me alot. I'm wondering if this Chelsea team that won against Brighton tonight is the same Chelsea that lost against Aston Villa in their last Premier League game. Initially, I was not expecting them to win this game but they managed to win, I hope this victory awakens their winning spirit and I hope to see them further extend the winning to the premier league and to enable them step up in the table.
It was a surprised to we the Chelsea fans because we were expecting Brighton to win as other fans were expecting but judging based on the game, Chelsea deserve the win they got. We didn't start our best men just as Brighton didn't start their but the atmosphere is different since it isn't the premier league so maybe that's why Brighton didn't go home with the victory. I just hope the boys can get some motivation from this victory and win their next game in the Premier league. Sadly Nicholas Jackson won't be available for the next premier league game due to suspension but Broja is back from injury and he'll be starting and from the few minutes he was on the pitch, he's looking promising, our next match against Fulham should be a win as well considering players like mudrky has begun to see more starting call up and he isn't disappointing with his display. A win is a win but i would say Brighton actually fielded in a weaker starting line than their usual line up, Chelsea also changed there to formation with the likes of Enzo missing out. But definitely a great win for Chelsea, if it was before this competition looks more like just a cup match to Chelsea but with the state of the team i would say they needed this win and if possible should build on it more and plan on scooping this competition home.
We needed this break because it was looking like nothing is working for us and that can be very frustrating. Cucurella was decent and so were other player especially C. Palmer and I'll love him to be given more strating role by Pochettino. He was the reason Jackson got the first goal and also played a part in the disallowed goal. Yeah especially Al-Nassr is slowly taking a place in the standings and they are the only club to have won 5 consecutive matches in the last 5 matches that's a great achievement. Times are changing. Society is not the same as it was twenty years ago, this generation of women are business oriented and want to earn their own money. I believe the result is different in each cultures and society. The ratio of men and women in business cannot be the same, corporations value male employees above females because they believe the men will be more committed and willing to sacrifice more hours as they have less commitment to family unlike the women.
People are getting more educated and accepting woman as a part of the economical success of the society unlike before when woman were made to just stay at the kitchen and answer yes sir to their husband. I was trained by a single mother who was industrious so I understood what women go through in underdeveloped countries. Women's are the most industrious part of the economy and it's justifiable because we have more woman then males in the population of a country. Woman are very industrious in my country and despite all the injustice to them they still strive to make a name for themselves. Woman are better at entrepreneurship as a woman can do a typical woman jobs and also do that of the man. The society has discriminated the woman but yet they still strive in my society and the evidence are everywhere. If woman had the same opportunities as male they would be better than us. The generation now is not the same as before when women were just wife material and their job was to take care of the children and clean the house. They can do everything and sometimes we can see that women are the ones working and their husbands are in the house.
And this is why we're having a progressive society because we have given woman their proper recognition on the world. It isn't perfect in all countries but it's a gradual process and we'll achieve equality for all gender someday but it's better than what we had few years ago when woman were suppress like they mean nothing. Woman are a vital part of our society as they're responsible for the continuity of our society so they should be given more accolades then they received. Without a woman the world will seized to exit for a man to dominate. Everybody should be treated equally because we're all human. The entrepreneurship of a woman should be encouraged because they have more desire to make the world works than man who're mostly after money and power. Haven't you noticed most countries that have woman leaders are doing well than those with male leaders that are mostly after power without caring about what's happening to their citizens. More woman entrepreneurs should be encouraged. |

The population of the world is increasing drastically and if something is not done, it is going to lead to over population which could lead to insufficient supply of food and amenities. We need to take up birth control make sure that we don't keep borning without having any plans for them.
When it came to population control, I believe in what Elon musk has to say about it which is (population collapse due to low birth rates is a much bigger risk to civilization than global warming). While we think the world is getting overpopulated, we're neglecting the fact that the earth is capable of withstanding any population we humans can produced. There are so many lands that aren't occupied yet. We don't need birth control because popular is a economy strength instead of weakness. Looking at countries that's doing well has a lot of contributions from the population they have. Other nations with similar population are beginning to understand the strengthen they have in population like India also improving in their economical strength. Some countries in Africa are also begining to understand the strength they have in their population and with time they'll be able to utilized the man power they have and become a strong economical power nation. Population without advancement I'm technology of a country is a total waste of time. There is need for a country to develop there economy just like we are seeing I'm China right now. The economy advancement of China is growing faster and in the nearest future it might be the large economy in the world with no competition. This is because they understood the power of population, China embraced their population and also technology advancement but other countries in the third world countries haven't embraced technological advancement like Nigeria that has the population but lack the technological advancement. The world is going digital and if your country isn't adopting technology it will be difficult for them to advance in the digital world. I don't see a reason why population will be a country weakness unless they're still leaving with the mindset of the stone age like most third world countries. If your countries get the technological equipment that the European countries have they'll be better than most countries that we think are world power because they will now have the national resources and the human power to utilize them. |

I really want know if getting more degrees can make life financially better because I come from a country where their are no job and I have seen people that the only thing they can do in life is to read books, getting more degrees attaining all these degrees yet no still go job for them with good pay. Do think people who read in a region with slim job opportunities are doing the right thing? Everyone has what makes them feel accomplished in life, to some people reading and attaining more degree is what they consider to be accomplished while others getting money is what they consider to be successful. Some of those users that you see reading and attaining more degree are doing so to position themselves in a good position for when an opportunity comes. The opportunity could be job offers outside the country as some companies are now targeting third world countries for employment because people there are cheaper to pay and the jobs can be done remotely too. Some study so when they leave their country they'll be in a good position to secure jobs outside the country while others are just to studying because they love doing so or they don't have any hopes again and looking for what they'll use to kill time while they wait on miracle but still the obvious answer to your question is no because majority of them waste their whole life getting degrees that aren't useful in the location they find themselves. Most people who go for more degrees believe they can get better job at the end of the day. People that only go for more degrees in a stare with high unemployment rate are they doing right thing by putting all their focus on academic because this is the only thing they can do best. Both in a state where the employment rate is high or low, having just one qualifications isn't the right thing to do because the world is constantly evolving and job requirements are changing. It'll be an advance to you if you learn both academically and acquired skills that you can rely on if things don't work out as you have planned. Jobs will keep reducing as machine are been used for things human power were been used before so getting yourself equiped with skills ranging from one sector to another is needed to be employable. Academic shoudn't be neglected in the quest of acquiring a skill though as it's important for you to have degrees as it helps in various ways e.g social status. |

Without hesitation, I will delete the ICO craziness of the bull market in 2017, that's was the beginning of all the scams that we're now experiencing in the industry. Without the success of ICO then that anybody can set in his basement and launch an attractive site that'll raise millions of dollars in matter of days, we won't have been having all this other problems that we have been facing in the industry. It was after the ICO boom of 2017 that alot of scammers started coming into the industry disguise with their different altcoins scamming investors easily without getting any repercussions (punishment) just because the industry is an unregistered one. It was after the ICO era that scammers began to push the narrative of a trend and build all sorts of scam projects surrounding that trend like Defi and now AI projects just to scam gullible investors of their money. Delete the ICO boom and many projects existing today won't have existed and we might have had a safer space. As for me it is the FTX crash saga which led to many persons losing their funds that could have yield some profits by now. It was one of the saddest period for many in the crypto world. FTX collapsing was something that was inevitable because the exchange shady behavior was getting too obvious like their involvement in the pumping of Solana to the top without having an actual working product with a blockchain that isn't stable yet it got the support of top influencers and FTX was a big investors in the project. The founder Sam Bankman-Fried was a well known arbitrage trader so it wasn't a surprise he was messing with his customers funds. Most newly launched projects don't survive their first bear market especially projects that were launched after a bear market. The FTX crash didn't do much to the market as after the crash of the exchange, this isn't even the worse bear market that Bitcoin has experienced. The worst Bitcoin crash was the 2018 bear market and that was immediately after the ICO boom. |

I'll just him the benefits of doubts that he didn't know he was promoting a scam casino and didn't do his due diligence about the casino before he promoted it, also the promotion mightn't be official but a referral partnership as most influencers are now promoting anything with their referral links to get commission. Influencers that just shared a platform without asking you to use them aren't to be held responsible for any action you take but you see those that bet their life on the service or products that they're promoting, those are the ones that we can hold responsible. Ordinary, influencers are just creating awareness about a service or products and you don't have to believe anything they say until you do your diligence. It's just like signature campaign been promoted on the forum, you shouldn't patronized any because someone of high reputation is wearing it (sometimes they haven't had any negative encounter with the platform so they believe it's legit). Point being, do your own research before you do anything, don't heed anyone blindly, no matter how popular they may be. Here in India, popular actors promote tobacco without thinking what such adverts could do to their followers, and mind you people here are blind after Bollywood stars. In my country 1xbet is been prompted by most celebrities and not just influencers, I don't know the connection between both platforms (1xbet & 1xbit) but I believe they have been connected to be the same company yet many peoples are still using them because the influencers say so but we can't hold them responsible because they didn't force anyone to use the platforms. We also have influencers advertising acholic drinks that are harmful to the body when abused and tobacco too. It's like a normal thing for celebrities (influencers) to be smoking cannabis on social media even when they know their followers might copy them and it's so annoying seeing all this happen and yet nothing is been done about it. The world is fucked already so we owe it to ourselves to always do our due diligence on everything before use. |

As a newbie, it is important that you identify yourself with your local board, because it will enable you to learn in your local language which might help you understand topics being discussed in the forum faster, and it will also make you grow faster, especially those people that English Language is their second language. Local board will make you also have good contact and have new friends from your country because, life doesn't end here in bitcointalk, since nobody knows tomorrow.
Local boards are very important and everyone both newbies and higher ranked account should identify with their local baord. It's the higher ranked accounts that will make the local board conducive for the newbies that's why I said they're needed on the boards/threads too, you gain nothing when you disassociating yourself from your local board instead you're leaving it in the hands of those that might be competent to pilot the affair of the board but when you join hands with them, you guys will be able to groom the next generation of productive users of the forum. I knew the importance of local board and that's why I was a strong advocate for the Nigerian local baord which we have gotten. Newbies are more free and inspired when they're surrounding by those from their locality and they learn better that way before exploring the main boards. Although, there are some countries that Theymos hasn't grant their request to give them their own local board, that shouldn't discourage you from posting there, because it is the number of people in a local board and how active that sub board is that will help to speed up the provision of your own local board. The recent local boards that was granted by theymos all gave him a reason for doing that so if others what the same thing they need to also prove to theymos that when their board will be approved it won't become dormant like some local boards are. The activities on the board needs to increase and older members on the board should come together and put hands together to see how they can create awareness about the threads to their countrymen on the forum. For Nigeria it was easy to identify one from the way they write so if you have similar attributes for your country men you can send them DM to invite them to the thread or create other campaigns like Signature Campaign for the purpose of creating awareness for the thread. You can organize local competition to keep them interested in discussing on the thread and before you know, your local thread will have active contributors without any extender motivations but first people need to be motivated to contributions to discussion on the thread. |
