721  Other / Meta / Re: Should Merit-Sources use feelings when giving out Merit? on: October 08, 2023, 06:44:06 AM
It's a different a user can give merit to whoever he wants, because it's his/hers own merit and they can do whatever they want with it. But a merit-source how should he act? Without feelings or with feelings?
To be selected as a merit source amongst other users can be likened to a leadership position that has been handed to you, and as a leader it is not expected you lead with sentiments and emotions. You lead the territory that you are leader of and try as much as you can to be fair to everyone under it. A good leader separates emotions and sentiments from leadership, same goes for a merit source. As a merit source of a board, it is your duty and something expected of you to be fair in your distribution of merits to quality topics and contributions in that board regardless of your personal opinion of the person who has made the post/contribution. Your ability to separate emotions and sentiments from your distribution of merits makes you a good merit source that deserves to continue.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I recently convinced my employer to start paying me in BTC, it has been great on: October 08, 2023, 06:13:26 AM
I live in an underdeveloped country, but I work remotely for a fairly good web development agency. We don't have a lot of financial services/wallets here, so we had to go circumvent a lot of obstacles for me the money to get to my local bank account. This whole process took a hefty fee, and time. And the worst part is the currency is absolutely shit and deteriorating (even compared to other fiat currencies),
In the case of next time, try to include where you from, makes the discussion more direct and reduces the stress of us wondering where you are from.

Recently, I convinced them to start paying me in BTC. I save what I have to save, and convert the rest to fiat via P2P trading. Its so quicker and I get great deals, no more bullshit. I think this has been a great benefit of crypto for underdeveloped nations.

I have been accumulating bitcoin from a long time from my freelance work, but getting paid in it by my regular work feels awesome!
You were successful because your employers know about bitcoins, If they have had no idea, trying to convince them to use a new payment method for just you that they do not know would have been more cumbersome.
723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: October 08, 2023, 05:16:06 AM
Nobody was expecting Scott Mctominay and Harry Maguire to be the only united assets to return this week to be fair.
Mctominay and Maguire saved Erik Ten Hag's job. Sure nobody has both players on their team. Casimero and Bruno wo I have on my team from Manchester United cored very low points, Fernandes with 2 points and Casimero with 1  Sad

But this Chelsea game is a huge trap. Do not buy any of their players unless you want to be disappointed next week. Especially not Sterling. (And no playing mind games here @Igeboltz  Grin)
I had Jackson, I transferred him out, and he scored but I do not regret it. My regret is who I exchanged him for that is Awoniyi, bad news this week is Awoniyi did not play due to a groin injury, and he will expectedly return in November.

The only Chelsea player worth keeping is Cole Palmer. The young lad is a talent.

At least my Spurs assets did not disappoint.
Not the points I expected from Son, but I will keep him still.
724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this fascination with claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto? on: October 06, 2023, 09:07:25 PM
There are more who have claimed to be Satoshi but why?
For clout, for the attention and popularity that it can bring.

Many people are looking for ways to be popular and they know that since the identity of Satoshi is unknown, claiming to be him/her will attract a lot of interest from people who know the name Satoshi Nakamoto and are interested in knowing the face behind the identity.

We cannot take people who are claiming to be Satoshi serious because the real deal will know exactly how to make everybody believe, they will not need to make empty claims.
725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Do You Guys Think About This Simple Analogy? Anything to Add or Remove? on: October 06, 2023, 08:48:08 PM
~
A simple but effective analogy even though they are not on the same level for comparison.

It can can help convince people who are double minded and finding it difficult to accept bitcoins that bitcoin is the future. Your analogy can be adopted by other forum users who are finding it difficult coming up with an analogy of their own to help in convincing people around as it is basic and relatable.

This analogy will only be suitable for people who have low understanding, not people who have a high understanding of things and will not need an explanation so basic.
726  Other / Meta / Re: Here is why Bitcointalk is a reliable source! on: October 06, 2023, 03:30:01 PM
Why are you unlikely to be publicly scammed?
I consider Bitcointalk as one of the safest forums on the internet. The internet is full of scammers, and Bitcointalk is not without scammers. There are scammers, but you are unlikely to get scammed if you talk in public. Remember, scams are not moderated in this forum. Bitcointalk members are unlikely to scam a random person publicly because others will immediately try to save you from fraud (if they notice).
Forum members are constantly looking out for each other, and newbies are always advised to be careful of the kind of private messages they respond to especially after creating topics asking for some sort of help or assistance.

Help is usually offered publicly in this forum, so that it helps another person as it helps you.

Why it's reliable?
Many users on the forum possess vast knowledge and experience, and have no linking or relationship asides this forum that has become a meet place for everyone. If many users give the same answer to a question you ask, you can trust the information as reliable and correct.
727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador to introduce Bitcoin education in schools by 2024 on: October 06, 2023, 12:34:21 PM
The Ministry of Education in El Salvador is set to integrate Bitcoin education into the national public school curriculum by the year 2024.
This is better education to me, more of the really important and beneficial things and less of the bullshit and outdated curriculum.

I would love for children to be taught about economics or the decentralized economy, but a class on Bitcoin for children would be a little complicated.
If learning about bitcoin is complicated, then learning generally is complicated.  As for me, there is nothing heard or complex or complicated about learning about bitcoin. The students will be taught the elementary part of bitcoin which is not going to be hard at all.
Exactly, If bitcoin is being taught in schools, learning will be spread over a long period of time, the kids will not need to learn everything at once. It will be introduced to them according to a curriculum in bits, and they will be able to comprehend.

There is already an existing thread that contains all that relates to El Salvador Bitcoin adoption
That thread has become a mega thread, many spams there and some users like myself may not be interested in contributing to discussions in such threads. This discussion will also get lost there.

The other thread should even be locked.
728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: October 06, 2023, 12:13:27 PM
Pervis Estupinian out and Matthew Cash in. now we hope that he (MC) can continue his strong performance
Matty Cash has been good, but Cash will have a tough time with Hwang Hee-chan who is in the form of his life. He has scored four goals for wolves this season and last week he also scored the winning goal against the reigning champions of the premier league, to stop their unbeaten run. Makes me have doubts for Cash this GW.

How long will Saka be out? I have him in my team but I see many people transferring him out.
Until Saka fully recovers, his performance will not be optimal. To fully recover, he needs to be rested for a couple of games in my opinion. If Gareth still picked him, the chances of him getting rest is still slim, meaning the time to fully recover will be longer.

At the moment they are Botman, Estupinan and Gakpo. It seems that all three will be back in action very quickly,
Estupinan is not returning soon, he will miss up to four weeks of action.
729  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Use Crypto Signals? on: October 05, 2023, 09:00:13 PM
I googled reviews and I read nothing but good things about them.
If they were bad signals people would give bad reviews.
If they were bad signals and the reviews were given by the people who the signal providers have solicited for reviews from, their reviews will be good and you will never know that they are not truthful. Signal groups should be for reference, not to be trusted or depended on because they can fail you when you least expect, and not always necessary if you can groom yourself into becoming a good trader.

They claim 80% accuracy.
Normal to claim such figures for the good publicity.
730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons of my experience and knowledge about Bitcoin on: October 05, 2023, 02:11:46 PM
_ Attend meet up and conference, the Bitcoin community is awesome.
I have tried attending one before, it did not go as I expected. Almost everyone where acting like they are satoshi, like they know everything about bitcoins and had the most bitcoins in the way to carried themselves and answered when spoken to. The other set of people in the meet up where interested in promoting their business that they trade bitcoin and other cryptocurrency for fiat.

This forum for me remains the best place for you to feel among like a member of a community about something as serious as bitcoins. If you are a serious member here, there is no need to attend any local meet-up.

_ Guide newcomers to the crypto industry to Bitcoin only.
But also tell them about altcoins and why they should be avoided possibly. If you avoid talking about altcoins like a plague, it can make the inquisitive newcomers want to know why you did not talk about altcoins, and then become interested enough to invest in it.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pillow Fight League on: October 04, 2023, 09:33:01 PM
New sports everyday, the various sports that currently exist must be boring already to some people.

What are your thoughts on this new sport, Do you think we might see it in sportsbooks anytime soon?
It is far from being included in sportsbook because sportsbook mostly include sports that have high interest from gamblers, because that is where the business is. So unless  "pillow fight" somehow becomes very popular, most sportsbook will never consider it.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: October 04, 2023, 08:53:13 PM
Alvarez and Doku rested for City so I guess they are starting next week. Newcastle playing everything they got and having a lead against PSG. Good work so far but I feel like they will burn out around New Year.
It is an important game that they have against Arsenal this GW, If they loose the game, they have also lost their top position on the table and it will become two consecutive losses for the team in the premier league. Alvarez and Doku will be very much needed against Arsenal that is why the coach may have decided to bring them in as substitutes for their UCL fixtures.

The shit just keep getting worse force, Pervis Estupinian is out injured to
Very terrible, He will use up my free transfer this week.

Bellingham is incredible isn’t he, only 20 years old too. That kid can become the best player in the world, he’s certainly at a club that allows him the opportunity to become the best. Really is thrilling to see him develop into the beast he’s becoming.
He is such a good player with great potentials at a very young in a very big club. He created an assist, and scored the second goal. He has settled well into a club where many other players struggle to settle in and even find their place.

~snip

YES!! Matchday 1 was shit I only got 2 points but this one paid me everything back thank youuuuuu United lol! You know, I was thinking of 10 stakes on Real Madrid because 27 points felt really good but cryptofrka said 10 on Galata was easy peasy, then YOU and a few said Galata was  good bet, and so I put it as my main pick Smiley

congrats man, can't say that I thought that United is going to lose, but @1.45 was really undervalue, so Galata bet had lot of value
great play in the end
Manchester United still disappointing, a very bad start to a competition that they longed to play in, and they have lost their first two games. Ten Hag will not be fired because that is not the solution, Manchester United have a very poor defense that needs to improved on, and Onana the goalkeeper is not helping too, he needs to sit out a few games and the second choice Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton who was very good in the preseason be used. Onana's loss of confidence is doing harm to the team.

I only had one exact score from the games yesterday and that was the PSV and Sevilla game, will possibly get more today.

Bayern and Real Madrid are the teams currently with six points in their groups, PSG, Manchester City and Barcelona will be aiming for the same results.
734  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is cheapest way to buy Bitcoin? on: October 03, 2023, 10:02:43 PM
Try to ask someone from the forum if he can do the deal for you and you'll just pay him/her in any payment method that you can that you're going to agree with.
Thinking from the other side, be careful and avoid agreeing to send money to any user without any reputation that sends you a private message with any kind of message in the form of they being able to sell bitcoins to you at a cheap rate if you will send money. It is a scam!

You have put yourself in the radar of these people by showing interest to know the cheapest way to buy bitcoins, so you have to be careful.

Just a friendly warning.
735  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we truly need cbdc when bitcoin already exist? on: October 03, 2023, 09:48:20 PM
Do we really need cbdc now?
CBDC's are distractions to take your attention from what is the important thing which is bitcoins. CBDC's is what the government wants to use to deceive people not to use bitcoins and cryptocurrency for transactions. The creation of CBDC's is to ensure that they do not loose their third party grip that they have on the financial life of the citizens. In my opinion, they are unnecessary and maybe the next stage in evolution for the banks, but for us, bitcoin is what is next for us not CBDC's.
736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: October 03, 2023, 03:39:57 PM
You probably should set an alarm and add the title of the thread for the reminder, it's very tough to keep up with all these pools without needing a reminder for a couple of them, it's easier to get reminded when there is a mobile app of the pool on your mobile device, but very easy to forget the pools that have to do filling google forms with answers and predictions.
I almost forgot as well, but as I remembered as soon as I recalled that there will be Champions league games today.

I was 52/52 from the first round of games, my first experience playing then but did not have any beginners luck to start with.

I am confident I will not remain in that same position this round, I believe I have made better predictions in this round.
737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging people from Bitcoin... on: October 03, 2023, 12:26:19 PM
Why is it that everytime a newbie shows his or her interest in trading Bitcoin, some people will always try to discourage the newbie?  You see them saying things like “Bitcoin trading is not for newbies”
Do not see it as people trying to discourage you, they are rather trying to warn you and tell you the truth about trading and telling you what some people will avoid to tell you. Newbies to bitcoins need to consider the best way they intend to use in getting more bitcoins. Trading is one way, mining is another and the other way is DCA. From the three, the easiest for a newbie to do is DCA because it does not require as much skills as trading and mining does.

A newbie can become a trader, but they need to learn the basics first.
738  Economy / Economics / Re: Ideas without action: An overview of a successful entrepreneur and a dreamer. on: October 02, 2023, 09:58:15 PM
👉👉Lack of self confidence
Some people don't have confidence in themselves. They never believe they can do it alone. Self confidence is highly needed if you want your idea/business to be successful.
The difference between a dreamer and a doer is that a doer is someone who has taken action, and a prompter to take action is a strong believe that you can achieve what you have planned, this if fueled by believe, especially the believe that you have in your own abilities. Self believe beats the believe that other people have in you because it is motivating from within. Believe does not think that there will be no problems or obstacles to success, believe eliminates doubt that the problems will be unsolvable.
739  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 02, 2023, 01:55:54 PM
There are many people around us, where their income is not enough to manage a family how do you manage your family and economy?
If your income is not enough to manage a family and you do not have a family yet, Do not start one.

There is already a high rate of crime, do not bring children into this world when you know you cannot yet carter for them, that is just adding more to the problems of the society. You should be able to take good care of yourself first before you start a family, do not fall into that trap where you are advised that you can start a family first, that money will come to take care of them, that is a lie!

There are many people who manage their family very well even though their income is very low in their personal life, how do you manage it?
Planning is the word that explains it all.
740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My regret for not adopting bitcoin earlier. on: October 02, 2023, 01:33:30 PM
I was waiting patiently for the day he will come crying to me that bitcoin has crashed and all his investments gone.
There are still people like the old you who are still waiting for bitcoin price to crash. These people are in all class and category of life.

- The first category who already have had other traditional investments that were already doing well before bitcoins, so they have little believe in what bitcoin is about and the ease with which bitcoin can be invested in. They do not trust bitcoins and are waiting for it to crash.
- The second category who are earning well, trying to look for something to invest in, but do not just trust bitcoins and are looking to invest in other things except bitcoins because they expect that sooner or later, they will be validated for making the right decision of not investing in bitcoins because of it's crash.
- Then the third category who are still struggling to earn, do not yet even have enough to invest but because of ignorance or misinformation just believe that bitcoins will crash.

I have pity for third category because they are ignorant that investment in bitcoins offers then good opportunities to level up, by investing the little they have in a strategic way.

Ignorance is really a disease!
