721  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: NEW FAUCET + NOT LIKE OTHERS + MANY OPTIONS + 50% REFERRAL EARNINGS on: August 14, 2015, 05:00:18 AM
I feel lost on your site. I found the "gift faucet" but it only awarded 26 points. Are points satoshis? If so that has to be the lowest paying faucet I've seen.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / First-seen-safe replace-by-fee (FSS RBF) on: August 14, 2015, 04:33:40 AM
I'm playing around with first seen safe replace by fee (http://bitcoin-development.narkive.com/NgSiQBmM/bitcoin-development-first-seen-safe-replace-by-fee)

My first go around I had no issues and I was able to do this successfully because the address I used had multiple unspent outputs available.

So then I tried again but this time with only 1 input and zero fee so that the entire input gets sent to the recipient. Since I only had 1 input available and I sent it all to the recipient I'm unable to do a RBF since the amount to the recipient cannot be changed per the policy.

With this node policy is the only way to fix a transaction like the above is just wait it out, or by sending additional funds to the address so I can add a fee? Or is there a way to send less to the recipient and put it towards a mining fee?
723  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Need brainwallet php script on: August 13, 2015, 10:28:08 PM
By far the most common is to use this as your brainwallet:

private key = Sha256(passphrase)

This is also what brainwallet.org did.

I think it would be worth noting that simply a sha256 hash of a passphrase or word will not produce a user-friendly bitcoin private key, it would have to then be converted to WIF.

724  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Free Script] Untitled Dice - Run your own bitcoin dice site (no server needed) on: August 13, 2015, 10:23:37 PM
Very nice! Good update IMO, I think some people were confused about having to refresh to see their updated balance after a deposit.
Keep up the good work guys!
725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin supply discussion/suggestion on: August 13, 2015, 11:47:49 AM
should we add proof of stake to the bitcoin? NO
should we increase the supply limit (i mean to have more bitcoins)? NO
is the maximum supply (apparently) good? YES
is the bitcoin deflationary a good deal? YES
is bitcoin sustainable based on supply? YES
would you sure that newbies would be easy to get with bitcoin in the future? YES

The number of bitcoins that will ever be available should never be changed. It's 21m and that should be set in stone.

I 100% agree.  Is OP just trolling?
Once the block debate is over we'll have this crazy idea floating around. It's not the first time recently someone has pointed out about increasing the amount of available coins. Just wait 5 years when we will almost be at 21 million distributed.
Sometimes I wonder if these are just planted insurgents from the banks that purposely try to derail the community and turn us against each other.
726  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Need brainwallet php script on: August 13, 2015, 11:41:52 AM
Are you sure you would prefer a typical server-side solution (php) for something that can also be done client-side (javascript) ?

BitcoinJs works well for this, and allows you to do it completely locally & offline.

Agreed, why does it have to be PHP?
You can get the JS brainwallet code as it is still available on github from previous commits.

727  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would running a faucet be profitable today? on: August 13, 2015, 04:46:15 AM
I just planned to start faucet with faucetbox & gradually go for custom script with earning, just in 2 days thousands of visitors came for claim, I immediately need google adsense, But don't know if they approve my site or not, as it is one week old domain only.

Do you have a youtube and an older domain laying around? You can register for adsense on your youtube account and then connect an older domain for approval. Once approved you can put ads on any site as long as you add it to your adsense admin/dashboard without further approval.
728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Windows 10 and Bitcoin Discussion on: August 13, 2015, 04:37:21 AM
I unfortunately accepted the windows 8.1 -> 10 upgrade last week. I should have known since it was being offered for free.
While going through the update they tried really hard to get the user to accept these things, they called it something that made you think it would make your computer faster.  The only button option was "continue". I had to look around and find the "advanced" option that was in plain text off to the side, in there I was able to disable a lot of the features then.  Still, I'm sure there's plenty of monitoring going on.
729  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Faucets - how much do those sites make in ad revenue? on: August 13, 2015, 04:27:11 AM
Thanks for your response. Mind if I ask a few more questions?

So the site owner can choose if they want to get paid per ad click or page views? And that it can pay from $0.50 to a few dollars per day.

IF we use freebitco.in as an example...and if that site uses the payment per 1000 page views model, the minimum amount paid out from the faucet for 1000 page views is about $1.85 (assuming a $265 bitcoin price AND that the minimum faucet payout is 700 satoshi). So that site needs to get more than $1.85 or 1,000 times the minimum faucet payout to potentially break even on their venture.

What's the average pay rate for the 1,000 page views pay model?

Dollars a day doesn't seem worth it. And maybe this was your point...giving me enough info to satisfy my question and keep me concluding that it's not worth my time.

Itīs worth the time and money if you do it right, freebitco.in has a lot of other advertising ways like you can buy an ad on their webpage, they also get paid by google or depending on what company they decided to use, google pays a lot more for clicks than views, obviously they get a lot of money and they are profiting from it, they have a dice game as well so people lose more money there.

Why does Google pay then money? Is Googke sourcing/directing the advertisers to their site?

Anyone have any reliable numbers? "A lot" is entertaining but subject to interpretation. Any fact out there?

Google pays them because they are signed up with adsense. Google pays me as well for my site since I use adsense as well. They are also very strict about anyone sharing or revealing information regarding how much they get paid so you'll likely not get any reliable numbers.
730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you didn't get paid for your signature, would you still care about Bitcoin? on: August 13, 2015, 03:01:24 AM
I think most people are drawn to bitcoin and this forum and then later they find out about sig campaigns. I used BTC for well over a year before I enrolled in my first ad campaign. Honestly I thought they paid next to nothing, and then someone mentioned how much they got made me sign up. Getting some extra BTC just for posting is a pretty sweet deal IMO. It has however lead to lots of spammers Sad
731  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much do you think 1 Bitcoin will be worth in 2020? on: August 13, 2015, 02:48:32 AM
I am quite curious about this poll.
Reason: when there was a poll in Feb 2014 re bitcoin price in a year, the average of all answers was $2000, but in reality, it was ~$220 in Feb of 2015.
So, the wisdom of the crowds was totally wrong, however, maybe the questions were asked among bitcoin aficionados and hence, unreliable (as predictors).

$10K seems to be a sweet spot for the pole (and i voted for it as well), but i wonder if we are simply biased.
If the wisdom of the crowds is nonsense, then some models that people are proposing to make predictions about a future using blockchains are bogus as well.
I think that the accurate number would have been if you asked 1000-2000 average Joe/Janes the same question, but not here.
Just my 2sat.

Doesn't wisdom of the crowd add up all the results and then get the average guess, instead of the most popular guess?

So adding up all the results I am getting: 18,147,032
Divide 152 votes
= $119,388.36

That can't be right... or can it?

733  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hey guys! got a question.... on: August 13, 2015, 01:08:15 AM
I haven't found at an easy way to get USD into BTC-e while living in the US. It seems every form of payment they accept is not eligible to be used with US bank accounts.  If you find an easy way be sure to let us know  Wink
734  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gigantic explosion at Bitcoin mining farm in Tianjin China on: August 13, 2015, 01:05:00 AM
LOL "giant explosion at bitcoin mining farm"

"I told you those ASIC usb's needed to be cooled by fans!"  Cheesy

It wasn't a mining farm.
Seriously though, that video was intense, hope the folks over there are okay.

Cashouts have been restored.   Api requests were flooded and caused my server ip to be banned by nlockchain.info. there is now a limit on the frequency of cashout requests
737  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Faucet+Dice - 200 Sats Every 3 Minutes + DICE! 50% Ref Commission! on: August 12, 2015, 05:28:49 AM
Sorry, Blockchain.info appears to be down. Please try again later.

I just tested it and I got the same error, sometimes blockchain.info API does go down.
How long has it been like this?

I ran another test and dumped the json repsonse and it's coming back null.

Currently checking with blockchain to see what the issue is.

Yea squatters are lame and I don't know why they think they should get paid because they registered it before someone else did. At least domains aren't everything, it's more of the content. You can make a successful website using the domain zzyxw.us if the content is good enough.
739  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Faucets - how much do those sites make in ad revenue? on: August 12, 2015, 02:34:05 AM
Many Faucets also have web miners whose function is to use the visitor computational power to mine cryptos.

You're kidding right? Even if the webpage did harness the CPU power of the user it would be a pointless attempt at getting any serious hashrate. Drive away users for a couple measly shares in a pool? Doesn't make sense.

Tomorrow around this time will be happy hour. All claims will be doubled for an hour.  Cool
