741  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] TOPFAN BITCOIN FAUCET | every 30 mins on: August 11, 2015, 12:54:21 PM
Hey kind of reminds me of a faucet I know  Wink
Nice work I like the layout and design! 30 minutes seems like a long time to wait when it's not faucetbox though.
742  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] satoshiEngine - Ad Free Faucet 5000 satoshi on: August 11, 2015, 12:44:20 PM
This site dries out too often  Sad  I had a referral link from my site to yours but I'm going to remove it.
Your give-away might be to generous, maybe try 2,000 sats every 2 hours or 1,000 every 1 hour.

Beware!

Newbie account with a suspicious login form asking for username, pw and email. Then nothing happens after registering. This has all the makings of a phishing page.  "submit query" is the default name of a form submit button without a name and the page code is abysmal.

If you entered your info, and you re-use passwords across multiple sites, I'd suggest you change them now.

Code:
<br>Password:&nbsp;  <input type="password" name="password" />
<br>Email:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<input type="text" name="email" />
<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<input type="submit">

744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitstamp hack confidential document has been leaked on: August 11, 2015, 05:08:29 AM
This was a big deal when it happened. It was down for days, my loan on BTCjam was linked to the BTCjam price in BTC so if the price fell, my payments increased and I thought it could create a flash crash. So I just paid the loan off right then. Anyways, I don't think bitstamp's image really fully recovered from this hack, they used to be one of the big boys and now bitfinex took their place.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: August 11, 2015, 04:44:12 AM
Also you can earn from advertisements by creating a website, i'm thinking of creating a faucet site.
Yeah good idea, advertisement like bitmedia can pay 0.0003 ++  per click, its large,
But faucet site need capital, and if the visitors rarely click on ads on your site, you're probably going to lose?

It's definitely possible to lose. I just entered the faucet world myself. There are so many faucets out there you have to do something different to stand out. So I created mine from scratch, no scripts. I have high payouts and I built a dice game for the users to play. Ever since I added the referral bonuses the traffic has been doing very well. I started with no ads and have added only a few since to help make some money with the traffic. About 1% of my visitors click on the ads currently.

PrimeDice is one of the premier and trustworthy dice sites available on the web. They are constantly innovating and taking the game to new levels. Their upgrade from V2 to V3 including ranks and achievements were a great idea. I can see Stunna is up to some more great ideas, recently posting a job for a developer to build a game similar to pinball. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with next. Thanks for keeping things fresh PrimeDice!
747  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winklevii are stalling Gemini until halving draws closer. on: August 11, 2015, 04:06:05 AM

As this appears to be speculation, allow me to propose another speculation. They are waiting for NY to approve their bitlicense application.

Does anybody have the knowledge of how long it took itbit to get their application approved for ETA comparison purposes?

I believe Itbit have a banking charter which is a different type of regulation and a much higher level than the bitlicence and one that already existed.

Not sure how long it took but it would've been a rigourous process and one that allows them to operate in all states. Maybe Gemini is going for something similar.

Keep in mind it could also be that ItBit is not a domestic US corporation. They are ran out of Singapore and they have a foreign corporate status in the US, with their corporate status jurisdiction in Singapore. The winks being a domestic US corporation could have a lot more requirements and licenses to meet.
748  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Banned bitcoin on: August 11, 2015, 04:00:52 AM
What if some countries just simply ban bitcoin? To the point that its against the law to own it and use it.

can you ban internet?
you'll have to stop everyone from using the internet if you want to fully ban bitcoin.

Exactly this would be nearly impossible to enforce.
They banned "illegal file sharing" but it still happens and a lot people do it.
This time instead of sharing software, movies, music and games it's money.
749  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Faucets - how much do those sites make in ad revenue? on: August 10, 2015, 05:31:32 AM
It all depends how many ads the site owner decides to put on their site and if they choose click ads or pay per thousand views.
The ad revenue can be 50 cents to a few dollars per day depending.
I recently entered into the faucet world myself and google adsense so far pays the best.
750  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] satoshiEngine - Ad Free Faucet 5000 satoshi on: August 10, 2015, 05:09:29 AM
Looks good! I like how you combine a forum with a faucet. Also what's very unique is that members can create their own HTML page and host it on your site. That's really cool!  I've added a link on my page to yours.  Grin
751  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: August 10, 2015, 03:58:13 AM

What country are you in?
In California you can make that much working as a supervisor at Panda Express (Chinese Fast Food Restaurant). I only know that because I've seen them posting jobs when picking up food. But $17/hour does not go very far at all in California, since living costs are so high.
wow , that's not enough? if someone is going to work for 10 hours a day , that could make it up to $5,100 monthly ... how high should the earning be on a monthly basis to make it good enough for living in California?

Well depends where you live in California, there are some areas where you could get by with just $17 an hour.
I'm in San Diego where it is quite expensive.

"The regional housing wage is the average income that a person needs to make to spend no more than 30 percent of his/her take-home pay on rent or mortgage, which is nearly $27/hour in San Diego."

752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 10, 2015, 01:31:13 AM
People who dream of $300 either have some cognitive problems or a severe lack of imagination.

Yea $300 is nothing... unless they were dreaming of $300 per mBTC. That wouldn't be too bad  Cool
753  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: August 09, 2015, 11:58:47 PM
You can make the equivalent of 1.5-2.5 BTC per week by having a full time job at $17/hr.

What kind of job having wage $17/hour ?
i really curious about it because in my country thats income is so high and if you have salary like that maybe you're from parlement or a specialist doctor

754  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: August 09, 2015, 11:54:36 PM
It's not only how much BTC you make weekly, the translation to fiat is important too. For example we now went from 280 usd to 265, since signature campaigns will pay the same, we are making less money now.

What?! You convert your sig campaign coins to fiat? I've always kept mine as BTC... then again I've never converted BTC to fiat, only the other way around.
755  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Bets Bitcoin Faucets | Get 100000+ satoshi/hour on: August 09, 2015, 11:34:59 PM
Cool site and nice list of faucets!
Consider adding mine to your list, I pay 50% commission on referrals.  It's a little different, it's not faucetbox and requires the users to create a username and password but the payouts are high and I built a dice game in it as well so users can play while they wait in between claims.

756  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos (operator of Bitcointalk and Bitcoin subreddit) is censoring Bitcoin XT on: August 09, 2015, 10:31:07 PM
Is this only on XT's testnet or will we be seeing a forked XT chain soon? If so seems like an unorganized and sloppy way to release it.
757  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Check Potential Activity on: August 09, 2015, 10:25:22 PM
I input my bitcointalk user ID and nothing happens. My browser just keeps loading.
I'm not sure what potential activity is, what is the site supposed to do?
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Closed Permanently on: August 09, 2015, 10:01:31 PM
Hi, Do they still serve the source code of it on github?
We may need it, it was a great service.

Nope, the code on github was removed as well. So if you didn't have it saved it's gone.
This is the only thing left of the github code

Code:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html><head>
<title>Closed Permanently</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Closed Permanently</h1>
</body></html>

EDIT:  Actually you can get the source code from a previous commit here: https://github.com/brainwallet/brainwallet.github.io/commit/fa462be9af74da30ae7e78203c11b94a0f887539

Forcing people to click ads is against most ad providers TOS.
You are requiring 2 ad clicks per visit which is ridiculous and unfair to the advertisers.

760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: my BitcoinCore wallet doesn't start on: August 09, 2015, 07:10:25 PM
I already looked  for the debug.log file in Bitcoin Core's installation folder but didn't find it, not even in windows browser... do I need to reinstall BTC Core? and if so, how can I recover my addresses (had 3 of them with some few satoshi)?

It's not in the installation folder. The debug.log is kept in your roaming app data.  Open up your windows folder explorer and type in %APPDATA%
Then look for the Bitcoin folder and you will find the debug.log in there.
