Switched to new wallet; i'm about 11 days out from stake. I cant wait to see 50% of stake auto-saved.
i stake in two days thanks for making save survive wallet restart! Welcome. I am actually really liking the Block Browser. I just right clicked on a received transaction and "show in block browser" and I get to see all the addresses it came from, the fees paid, the difficulty and hash rate.. Click, Click download boom!

If you put a space in the label part it causes a crash when trying to send coin. That is why it would not send. You should be getting some coin soon.
Figured out why the wallet was losing sync. One of the other files not the wallet and not the block chain was in some way corrupt or improper. I replaced them with a back up of some other golden files and that fixed the problem with the wallet losing the sync. Now it is time to backup the golden working files before I have another thunderstorm show up.
A space in the label is valid and won't cause a crash. As you noted one of the other wallets you had loaded caused a crash, not the space. Glad you got it sorted. I play with HBN on a daily basis, doing things even most power users wouldn't do. Yet in 1+ years I have yet to corrupt a wallet. I guess I'll have to try harder! Oh and thank you for the 50 HBN. I am actually really liking the Block Browser. I just right clicked on a received transaction and "show in block browser" and I get to see all the addresses it came from, the fees paid, the difficulty and hash rate.. Click, Click download boom! Tranz you better run before you are officially linked as being satoshi!! Hehe. I hope not, he just got hacked!

Thanks Tranz it worked great. I am using your beta wallet as well seems to be working well so far. Accept that the wallet seems to fall behind after syncing. I tried to send some coin to you but the address I sent it to was not correct somehow. F1TranzWqFGZyFeTMu6iLbtTQgdXuJPsiL
I have not had a wallet fall behind after getting up to speed. If you click on the info menu, it does freeze main until you click ok, so that could cause it to fall behind a bit, if you leave it on for a while. But other then that I am not sure. Do you have a space in front of the address? That could make it invalid, otherwise should be good.

Thanks Tranz. I appreciate it. Learned my lesson its good to backup both the wallet and the block chain.

Anybody have the latest blockchain for downloading?
I'll get one uploaded here shortly.

I get an awful lot of 'Generated but not accepted" - is this normal?
Make sure on the Mac to check mark "Prevent App Nap"

I vote leave it as is with the switch to turn it on on init. And no to the in wallet IRC, just is cliche for the most part in my opinion.
Everything else is looking good. And I appreciate the work going into S4C, it is a great addition.
Seems this is the majority thinking. I tend to agree.

Thanks Tranz for the info. NP. I also suggest after you are fully up to sync, is to shutdown the client and clone the %appdata%/HoboNickels directory and the exe, to a thumb drive. If anything happens, PC, wallet, index, whatever, you are ready to run in a matter of minutes.

Yes I backed up my wallet data. The newest beta wallet eats up the backed up data also. So I either re-sync the entire chain to use the beta or go back to 1.4.0, so I will go back to 1.4.0 and wait for the next official wallet release.
Yes version 1.4.0.1+ uses a new index method which requires a re-index. You would have to do this now or when version 1.5 comes out, if you were at a lower version. The other option you have would be to use the new version but start it up with -fastindex=0. This would allow you to use the old index but still use the new wallet.

Probably best to keep things simple. Bells and whistles introduce overhead and can cause unexpected issues. otoh, I don't mind if HoboNickels-Qt is feature rich as long as hobonickelsd remains lean. Having a trollbox integrated in a wallet would certainly set HoboNickels apart from the rest and might be a great way to build an active community. (I imagine most people that download the wallet won't discover this thread). Of course, it might also open the doors to IRC phishing bots preying on users right inside of the wallet. That might be somewhat undesirable Agreed, security is the number one concern. All changes I do I always try to think of that first. IRC is mostly safe, but there are attacks such as DoS flood attacks and other holes(I may not know of) that could be exploited. Perhaps if we allow for it, but turn it off by default, and give the user the options under the Option menu to enable it, could be the best of both world. I'll play with it a bit and see, most likely it may not make it to 1.5, but I won't remove it from the code for now. Just leave it as dead code for the time being.

Version 2.2 is ready. https://github.com/Tranz5/bottlecaps/releasesUpdated the Splash Screen and fully integrated Auto Savings and Block Browser. I am willing to draft another release here sometime in the upcoming months, with a few key updates, similar to what I put in HBN for 1.5. Dealing with locks, peers, and possible more GUI additions. But I would like to get some new icons made. So if someone is willing to make more cool icons. I'll contiune to push this forward. Thanks and enjoy!

i'd like it personally
Ok thanks.. Seems so far this is the minority. But lets see if others chime in.

Same as others, no need for fancy stuff on a wallet. People that want to use irc can use many already existing tools like xchat, mirc, mibbit etc if they really want to. Only a strong and stable wallet is needed. Less cpu/ram he use, better it is Btw, will it be possible to get rpc commands to get info about "our weight", "network weight", "% chance of producing a stake within xx hours" ? Lower mem/cpu is ideal. I have plans to lower CPU, but lower memory usage is still a bit off. Perhaps version 1.6 or 1.7. getmininginfo will give you all the information you request except % chance. I can add that..

Good feedback. I am pretty much feeling the same way.
Is there anyone that wants it? Speak now or forever hold your peace!
What about other features? Like market data, or watch only addresses, or other things. Are these something we want to try to get integrated?
What would be the descriptions of watch only addresses or "other things?" Market data seems interesting, but a lot of places already do that. Things like integrated block-explorer seem popular, but since these only review the blocks downloaded by the wallet, it doesn't necessarily help to see if you're on a fork. Before I move large blocks off exchanges, I always like the check my current block hash against an explorer (like say CAP and HBN's on cryptocoinexplorer, which is really nice since it seems to be updated versus the old explorer). Watch only means you can put in another address to which you do not have the private key, and watch how coins come in and out of that address. You can't spend them, but just watch the action. Market data could be used to tag the coin at time of mining, reciving, or spending. This way you could know exactly what the value is at the time. True about the integrated block browser. It maybe possible to create a "verified" version by going against the CCE API for example. Plus this will give you historical hash rate/netweight by block number.

Everyone keep monitoring and testing for the best block size and stake times. I recommend using the getstaketx RPC call to grab the stats of each stake. This will be a community project to find where the sweet spot is.
Also I can confirm that Tranz' progress on S4C stores S4C settings in the wallet.dat file, allowing for S4C to be initialized on startup and be switched from system to system without changing any settings. I will get this implemented into HYP hopefully today. Tranz has done some great work for HBN lately, I recommend following the OP for HBN.
Also ZeeWolf has made some awesome progress on the GUI, I have seen some screenshots and the dark version of the wallet is really cool so far. Its nice to have so many people willing to put their expertise into HYP, it makes it a lot better than the other coins where every other post is a bagholder complaining.
Thanks sir! I have moved this and block browser into CAPs today. It is one big commit, but it should fit better into HYP then the HBN commits. https://github.com/Tranz5/bottlecaps/commit/e1d17f03f00e70a5d54ff5eff9bc00c22468c157https://github.com/Tranz5/bottlecaps/commit/5f662c81965dfed70da7f63af950b639b3fa4985Use as you like. I do suggest using this version of the Block Browser though. As the other coins didn't work very well at all. At least IMO. Oh I do plan to play with and use some of your Coin Control updates. Very good stuff! Good luck!

Question for everyone.
I am going to be making a choice about IRC. There are 2 options that I see.
#1 Remove it completely from the code. It is already disabled and will only use IRC if the users forces it with -irc=1. #2 Or we can also keep it in there and I can add to it, so it will connect to a IRC channel and allow users to chat with each other. The wallet will not use it to look for peers though.
Do we remove and forget about IRC, or keep it and expand it's usage?
My personal opinion is to lose it. As I don't think the wallet needs the extra bloat(code wise) and it could open up an additional security concerns.
However it is probably mostly safe and could be a fun addition to have.
So I'll let you all decide. Let me know.
Thanks!
I'm for having as basic a wallet as possible. No reason to have text chat, VoIP, video chat, and all this crazy stuff wallets are trying to do nowadays. Since a lot of these high PoS coins have pretty quiet communities, I'd recommend they all band together into a single high PoS channel, say #crazysteak or #posinvestors or something. Good feedback. I am pretty much feeling the same way. Is there anyone that wants it? Speak now or forever hold your peace! What about other features? Like market data, or watch only addresses, or other things. Are these something we want to try to get integrated?

Also installed 1.4.8.0. Just copied the executable and everything seems to work just fine straight away. Impressive. One question about the change generated by S4C: does that go to the custom change address or is it still a newly generated address?
At this time it is still pulled from reserve in the wallet. I do have this on my list to look at. So it may still make it into the final 1.5 version.
