Guys, I asked about the upgrade kits and MPP and was told there were no MPP or upgrade kits ever offered in batch one.  So apparently just because your BJ system was batch one, doesn't mean additional boards would be in the same batch.

That's all I could find out, but it made sense to me even if it's not good news.  Batch 2 orders are now being fulfilled, so if your upgrade kit is in B2, you should be able to expect it soon.

-Phil

Great so much for the MPP. Guess there will be lawsuits coming

Is it possible to compile the hashfast cgminer and use it on windows?
Yes definitely. I build and test the windows binaries on my hashfast devices and they work fine (set them up like any other usb device on windows with cgminer as per the ASIC-README). Just download the latest cgminer windows binary 3.12.3... however hashfast are still sitting on their new firmware so you probably shouldn't try until they release that since the newer cgminer is built around the firmware changes and vice versa. It should actually still work though...

I mean the build HF-Engineer posted a bit back. He uploaded the source to one of the builds 3.09 I think. I wanted to know if I could take that source and compile it for windows and then be able to see the core temps and such. As otherwise the only way for me to see it is to put debug on which is quite annoying.
762  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast BabyJet users thread on: February 12, 2014, 11:09:29 PM
so batch 2 gets delivered already. And batch 1 still waits for the upgrades. This is not right.

Batch 2 people are getting their units? darn it. Yea, I want my upgrade unit AND my 'miner protection program' too.

2nd call to Hashfast in over a week with no responses about it.

here the same.

I was overclocking to 652 Mhz on own build of cgminer 3.11 and it works perfect at 440 Gh/s since 29th jan.

It takes 11 seconds on hotpluging the usb device. I run minepeon version from HF Engineer.
No problems all is good at this moment.

How much watts needs your windows computer, I think that the raspberry needs less
You should get more than that... at 3.11.0 on Windows I get 450 GH/s at 606 MHz on one of my units.  These hash non-linearly with clock, bump your clock by 2 MHz at a time until it jumps.

Is it possible to compile the hashfast cgminer and use it on windows?

Relating to Overclocking, I have mine at 580 and its getting an avg of 422ghash for about 24hours now
763  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast BabyJet users thread on: February 12, 2014, 11:32:51 AM
is there anyway to get the core temps and such like on the rasp pi
Click the "monitor" tab.  You'll see the temps and voltages for each die listed at the top.  Note: You must be running our software on the RPI to see this.  BTW: You also will not be able to get updates if you aren't running our image.  If you don't have a "monitor" tab, you aren't running our recommended image.

-Phil

Is there any way to compile with hashfast version so that it will work on windows?

There isnt much I can do. I dont know enough programming to do it. If someone is interested in buying it shoot me a pm. I will also do a partnership if your interested

Why'd you buy it if you don't know how to use it? :p

And what language is it in?

It is in php mostly I think. Its not so much that I do not know how to its more that I just cant build/expand to it. I originally bought it for the main reason of the old owner was just going to close the site down and not even refund users. SO I decided that I would just simply keep it open and host it. Also he didnt even give me users current balances at the time.

Ahhh, got you. I may be able to help out with some things, depending on how the source was created. I'm a lot better with my own custom code than dealing with someone else's, but I can give it a look-over for anything you're having issues with.

Okay, well like i said not really have any issues just cant quite expand on it is all.

my only/main problem with buying them is that it isnt profitable for me todo.
767  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast BabyJet users thread on: February 09, 2014, 08:27:20 PM
damn i feel sorry for you. If you want to get rid of a unit or 2 let me know id love to buy some. Assuming they actully work at 400 and its just the connection that is making them seem slow

This is just one unit and yes it works at around 385 GH/s at the pool. Whenever it reconnects it shows up as a new unit in cgminer but it is not. I'm hoping a software/firmware update will make it run as stable as my older ASICs from BFL and AM. (e.g. run and forget).

oo okay, you should have specified that. I thought you had like 10units and just a shit connection.

Relating to disconnections you could try it on windows. It works for me.

As for run and forget, as much as the BFL bothered me bfl hardware runs with maybe 1ghash fluctuation while Hashfast I have seen from basically 50gh to 2terahashes lol

Since someone mentioned Jack Liam AKA asianbtc AKA lightningasic, I'll post my convo with him as it seems the price fluctuates quite a bit.

Jack:" i have USB cell. 300KHS, LA3M, 3MHS, LA6M 6MHS scrypt."
Price is "LA6M, usd5100+usd300 for express" <-----------------------------------------------------which means 6mh/s of gridseed units

This next quoted thing doesn't make much sense as it says "4 PCS", which could mean 4 of the LA3M............ each being 3MH/s of gridseeds.
Jack: "4 PCS LA3M. usd2750 including dhl express"

From my understand LA3M=10 gridseed units in a "cell" and LA6M is 20 gridseeds in a cell. He says all power supplies, cables, etc. are included.

I think the last quote is either in error or is a dam good deal. 4x LA3M cells, 40 gridseeds in total, for 2750usd($68.75 for each 5 chip gridseed)..........but 1x LA6M which is 20 gridseeds would be $5100........so something ain't right.

I have a friend in China that can get them for me, so I didn't ask Jack to clarify on the LA3M thing. I just let it drop since $5100 for an LA6M is far higher than advertised anywhere else, making Jack a bit shady to me. Well at least extremely greedy, if not outright shady.

Don't shoot the messenger, I'm just passing on info I have Smiley

Yes I have spoke with him as well and this is the price. Yes it doesnt make any sense and i tried to explain that to him but he said they sell so he doesnt care.

Edit after redoing some numbers it actully does make sense.

the la6m is 5100 + 300 for shipping = 5400
2 la3m is 2600x2 + 150x2 for shipping = 5500
769  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast BabyJet users thread on: February 09, 2014, 05:53:10 PM
It might not have anything to do with your situation but I have had problems with Hashfast devices disconnecting from cgminer if the internet connection is disrupted. They would try to return but on the two occasions this has happened I had to power cycle everything to get it going again.

That might very well be the case. I am using Comcast Xfinity and their service is really flaky. Sometimes the internet connection drops completely for a minute or so before resuming. On the other hand, the BJ itself does not feel really stable either. It reconnects every hour or so:

well i ended up getting it to work using a .conf

Anyways been testing it in increments of 5. So far its going well.

Clock Rate   10 min avg   1hour   Max Temp   V
550   390   390   83   0.79
555   393   414/5   83   0.79
560   430   422   83   0.79

I think he may be right. This happened to me and I just thought it was a fluke. Basically I was mining at Pool 1 and pool1 went down for like 5mins. During the 5mins my miner switched to pool2. pool 1 came back and it didnt switch back. Is their a time limit before it switches back/checks? For example 1 time per min or something
If there are backup pools, it won't go back to the first pool until that one has been up for over 5 minutes, as a "stability test". This prevents cgminer from trying to connect to pools that are limping along and dropping out every 2 or 3 minutes during DDoS and so on. It's very easy for your hashrates to dive under those circumstances if you reconnect immediately to a pool whenever it comes back up.

Ooo okay, then it may have been that.

Relating to Overclocking, do I need to use the RPI to overclock? I tried using -hfa-hash-clock 555 in cgminer and cgminer just starts up and shows me a list of all the commands. So i assume im doing something wrong.
-edit: seems i got it to work, anyway in cgminer to confirm i have it running at the new clock rate?

Fyi I am using cgminer 3.11 on windows
775  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast BabyJet users thread on: February 08, 2014, 01:53:50 PM
Con,

Already found a bug, if the pool "goes away" it will never resume mining.  Getting this:
Code:
 [2014-02-07 16:44:34] Failed to getaddrinfo for stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334
 [2014-02-07 16:44:34] Testing pool http://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334

The machine can access the pool, and DNS is fine, but cgminer gets stuck.  Any way you can put something in to exit if pool isn't active (like it used to work)?

This is precisely why we don't recommend anyone run new code until it's vetted.

-Phil
Actually none of the pool management code has been touched in ages so if you think there's a bug there, it's been there since long before any hashfast sanctioned release. Are you saying it never tried to reconnect?

776  Economy / Auctions / Selling VirtualMinerGame.com, Site Working on: February 06, 2014, 02:24:14 AM
Hello, I am selling my site, virtualminergame.com. I am selling mainly as I dont know enough program to keep it up and running and would like to move on to other new projects. I will sell the site to the highest bidder who keeps the highest bid for 48hours.

Including in the sale is, the source code and database of the site, a few back ups some explanation of what the code does/how the site works, the domain, the server is optional. If you want it you can have it I just need to move some other stuff off, otherwise i can keep it and you can use it for something else.
777  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast BabyJet users thread on: February 05, 2014, 10:45:20 PM
I don't know how to get a message to ckolivas, but I'm testing the current master branch of cgminer and one feature that was added is fan speed control (OP code 143).  However, I keep getting the error that OP_CODE 143 is unhandled.

Is it possible that I have an older revision of the board/firmware something that doesn't support controlling the fan speed using that op code?
The code in git master needs new firmware which is not out yet.

2 quick questions,

1. is it possible to just disable cgminer from seeing other hardware, for example BFL. I tried the only allowing usb device 1 or something but I have no way of figuring out which device is what number.

2. is there anyway to see each cores temp in windows like on the RPI?

- This is a real pool, which generates real Bitcoins and Altcoins or just a game?
- How do I deposit Bitcoin? User --> Finances:
Deposit address: [no address]

Just a game, Hmm no address I will look into that right now.

@HF Engineer,
So you can/will be pushing out software improvements to the physical chips/modules and so we should have a rpi handy to update it?

This block is starting to get to the point of insanity. I live being able to merge mine here but not like this. This ends up costing me money.
