I tried joining the http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io/ and I set the recipient, but there is no confirmations, there is only a "/" displayed at the end! If I understand correctly I am supposed to get 4 confirmations before I can join the pool?

This is very good news, a Mac client will make Gridcoin much more accessible!

When is the mac client coming out? Is there a way to burn my classic GRC into Gridcoin-Research without it? I bought quite a bit and it's actually stuck on an exchange without a mac client. Unless there is anything else trustworthy to store them?

Mac client does work! Finally!
But, we havent asked Leder to compile it in a while and I dont have my mac set up yet.

So, if you could please build it from github:\\gridcoin-research for now.

Ill post a message on the other board to see if Leder can compile it.

Rob

Do you have a friend who runs windows where you can install the POR grc client?

Looks like you are all set! This is why I keep asking people to post their conf file because they usually did something wrong there!

I, for example, have zero payments since 31.10.2014. I asked for help here and at cryptocointalk for 2 weeks. And i still have that problems.

But before 31.10.2014 did you have any PoR rewards?
Yeap. Two of them. At same time i had "Wrong CPID" errors. I don't know how did i get this rewards.
This is all my transactions list:

Now everything is fixed, i hope.

Which version are you running? can you post a screen of your wallet, just black out the important stuff!

I am getting about 1-2 per day with a fairly sizable balance, the rest is interest payments. Lots of little payments!

More or less how many PoR blocks do you find in 24 hours? since now i haven't found one single block Sad

If you don't like the way Gridcoin works you are welcome to go mine something else!

Thank you but:

The network owe you about 45 GRC. But you wont get PoR reward until your RAC amount will be > 50.
Your magnitude is very low. Do you use CPU or GPU for your projects? The ADP will be defined a bit later as soon network gathers statistics about your CPID.
CPU. I've said: I use 3 or 4 of them depending on day. And the work 24/7. That's why this situation is curious!!

Something wrong with your email. I believe you need wait for complete statistic for this project.
Nothing is wrong, believe me! Complete statistics? I'm a member of gridcoin for 3 months with this email and username.

Your magnitude at the moment for this project is 55. The general magnitude is 55/77*33=24. Assuming current multiplier 2, you will receive about 50 GRC per day.  But you need time to understand how much you can get. Look on your Boinc statistic - i.e. RAC

3 (or 4) depending on day CPUs. It's enough (especially the GPU projects are rare and unknown). What power should be given? SHould I put 10 or 20 CPUs? I'd like to see the proportion.

50 GRC a day? OK! When I'll see it in mywallet?

It seems the main issues were fixed 3 days ago. I have about 500 GRC per day.

Congratulations! I've got zero. Something is not OK with this reward system. What computing power you have, and what computing power I have? I have >0 and blocks = 0!! Is this coin going to kill useful computations or it has major bugs? Or you are talking rubbish, or what's going on??

Finally I don't ask "how much a day". I will calculate it myself. I'd like the first PoR block (because of my contribution for some weeks) at any value to have comparison with those satoshi values PoS blocks, that I shouldn't have mined but I have mined!!

Clear rules, devs, please! I know it's not popular, but please!

If it is over 25 grc the system will show it as POR if it is under 25 it will be shown as interest!

I still have "Invalid CPID" issue. Please help!
For now my wallet is synced for ~2 days. I'm getting "Mined - Interest" rewards, but no PoR rewards.

Hi! Here is my prev post.
I still have "CPID invalid. Check E-mail address" error. Somehow i got 1 reward 25.10 and CPIDS was ok at that moment:

A bit later i lost sync with network. I tried to restart wallet, rebuild blockchain and sometimes i was able to get sync, but after a while it was lost again. For 1 day i was away from mining PC and when i checked it it was unsynced again. I updated wallet to last version and rebuilded blockchain. For now it synced, but result of listitem cpids is "wrong cpid" for all my projects. As before - my e-mail in conf is 100% correct.

Here is full listing of listitem cpids command.

Thank you for help!

What Win version are you running?

Download the latest GRC version and clear out everything in your appdata/roaming folder except for the wallet.dat file and your .conf file and sync from the start.

There are some problems with constant updates. Wallet has network connections, but is almost always out of sync. I tried everything: Rebuild Block Chain, Download Blocks, Upgrade QT Client...
Now it occasionally syncs but all my previous Interest and Mined - PoR coins are with status "Generated but not accepted" :/

Win 7 64. Ok' I'll try that.

We had some sync issues with the new POR wallet, now it seems most of them are taken care of, so within maybe a week we should have the POR GRC on the exchanges, unless there is some unexpected complications somewhere!

I have a question: I've burned all my old GRC..and now I got POR (research) coins. They are not tradeable anywhere yet? They won't be for next few months until old coins are all burned or what?
777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gridcoin up 400%, every other alt -> Bloodbath! on: November 01, 2014, 04:54:28 PM
Grc classic is in retirement now till March, all coins have to be burned to the new system of POR (Proof of Research)GRC! You can still mine GRC classic with cpu, but the block reward after block 190k dropped to only 10 grc per block! In either case you have to convert all the old GRC to the new POR GRC which is a variation of POS, but with Boinc added into the calculations! You can read some more here: http://btc-thailand.com/gridcoin-2-0-teaser-509/

is cpu mining finally working?i always liked this coin, the idea is great, but implementation was weak last time i checked like 6 months ago. to complicated to set up for most and no only-cpu mining, alwyas scrypt was needed (correct me if i am wrong please)

Yeah the old Gridcoin is very technical, the new POR(Proof of Research) GRC wallet is much better! Much more usable for the "average Joe"! You also get daily interest payments depending on your Balance and Boinc contribution!

What I am trying to say is, invest in something real and stop all the BS! I can't believe how much money and resources have been wasted on so many scams! It really boggles the mind!

not every other alt bloodbath. But ok. Congrats this went off a bit. Don't forget to take profits or someone else will Wink

It's not 400% btw.

tend to agree halve way. I dumped my grid back then because too many bugs in that one. Can't get that shit running.
I am only interested in coins that are usable by average Joe. Grid is still too buggy and experimental for me.
But ok, probably much better than some instamined/premined/ico vapourware p 'n d scam.

But the days of these "shitcoins of the week" are over, no worries  Wink

That's probably also the reason why liquidity is coming back for example to grid, but not only grid. Market is reflective right now. money comes back to good, old, solid stuff. No demand for shitcoins or new coins now. Ico/ipo is hard to sell these days too.
