7681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoins transferred under 5 secs. w/o confirmations! How possible? on: July 27, 2013, 05:49:34 AM
You have always been able to spend 0-confirm funds.  The protocol has no rule against this.  Of course a tx can't confirm until all of its parents are also confirmed.

The QT client has a restriction requiring 1 (not 6) confirmations for coins sent from outside addresses before allowing funds to be "spent" however that is simply a client side block and can be removed in the source code.  Coins from one address to another in the same wallet can be spent with 0-confirms.

This makes sense, D&T. Now, explain to me how this is accomplished within a couple seconds over and over and over again without the use of a script.

Also, since we know where this address stems from, why was InstaWallet breaking up a large wallet into smaller increments, doing such at one at a time oppose to several at a time of which they've been doing?

Well, I've been watching the website over the past few days.  They're way out of my personal price range but it seems they're making progress.  Why haven't they advertised I wonder or perhaps they already have some IPO to specific individuals??

Since when did a few days equal only two days?

You would have had to start watching this site the first minute they went live to even come close to a few days. Their first post was yesterday, therefore I have to ask: You have any relationship to this site?

Negatory batman, I actually found it on Mr. 4Chan under technology.  And since this is night two, I didn't bother with the semantics of saying "Night two" versus the ladder of simply saying "few days".   Don't get me wrapped up in this, I'm just following it is all.  Good or bad, I have no clue.

Fair enough, bud.

The site was registered on the 24th and on the 25th they posted: http://www.xenergylabs.com/?q=node/2

Due to the mass amount of emails already been received in such a short time we are throwing around the idea of having a small number of pre-orders. The number for the amount of pre-order systems is still up in the air until the fabrication team has given us a better idea on multiple current designing issues.

Sure do hope they've put more thought into their products than they did with their permalinks.

7684  Economy / Scam Accusations / PROOF: BFL used ALL pre-order moneys for development of their Bitcoin Miners! on: July 27, 2013, 04:33:20 AM
http://web.archive.org/web/20110923170442/http://butterflylabs.com/pre-order-form/

Quote
Pre-order funds are not held in escrow so if you aren't comfortable with our using your payment to prepare your product, you may order post production units at the standard price of $599 when they become available.

Although cleverly penned by Sonny K. (a.k.a. Sonny Chris Vleisides), I'm pretty sure the above negates what Josh and all other BF Labs Inc. representatives have stated on record that no, none, zero, nada, nil, empty set, etc., pre-order moneys were used for the development of any products produced by Butterfly Labs. Remember the statement that if all those who ordered requested a refund, all moneys could easily be returned because it safely resides in a US bank in the form of fiat currency? (paraphrased)

I'm not a lawyer, even though I've watched Matlock, but isn't that against the law whether stated or not such is taking place? Also, doesn't that constitute an investor more so than just a simple customer?

Simple question time: Since BFL's original address is still being used on BitPay's site, how and by whom is the mail being collected when delivered to 25 E. 12th Street, Kansas City, MO (zip goes here)?

Bonus simple question: Why was that address used? (apologies for using only 5 words in that simple question)
7685  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hosting BFL miners at J Morgan & Associates? on: July 27, 2013, 01:31:58 AM
To drive my point home, above, open up the following image and take a look at the address on the door left of the open sign thingy on the sidewalk: https://eclipsemc.com/files/IMAG0045.jpg (image is larger than the one below)

To be clear, Josh took the picture above. The address on above the door is 23 E. 12th Street. No way in hell would a smart person state he was Walnut Street, unless...
7686  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hosting BFL miners at J Morgan & Associates? on: July 27, 2013, 01:21:14 AM
OK, I'll say it.  What is BFLs scam here?  How do they profit from defrauding people in this hosting business.

That's what the thread is about

We don't know which or who owns the data centers that BFL's Bitcoin miners will be hosted at. First we had Josh working directly with BFL to host the miners at Josh's data center (of which exactly where that data center is located, nobody knows), now Joe comes along and clearly states that BFL is letting him host the Bitcoin miners at his data center because BFL decided to not do it themselves.

In the OP, I tried to established that Josh was employed at one of the data centers located across the street from BFL's original address, namely 25 E. 12th Street, not 25 Walnut Street as Josh once stated.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=48863.msg597832#msg597832

Quote
So I just walked across the street to closer inspect it.  Zaina is 25 Walnut Ste 105 and the Lofts are just 25 Walnut.

Here's a couple pictures.  There is no way into the lofts without an access card and it does not look in any way, shape or form setup for any business.  No intercom on the outside, etc...

Zaina dose not serve FPGA's, for bitcoin or otherwise.

The address on the building clearly faces 11th Street, and not Walnut, thus I'm implying Josh may have been tossing out a red herring, for he's a very, very smart man, not prone to make a simple mapping error like such. This guy's been in the service, knows Korean, and flys plains, a word idiots some times messpeels.

With the exception of rare occasions, in the US if a number on a building is seen from the street you're standing on, most likely that building's address will have the name of said street in it, especially if the building with the number is located not on the corner of the street. No way would one working on the same block as said building for a period of years, and knowing the city's numbering system like the back of their hand would make such a simple mistake.

Simple question time: Josh, how were you able to state Zaina's address incorrectly?

I wanted to clarify some things that are being said or at least insinuated here. My name is Joe Morgan I own and operate both Joe's Datacenter, LLC and J Morgan & Associates, LLC (aka kcmocolo.com). They are separate companies with separate facilities but I use one address for mailing. I am the SOLE owner of both company's and have no affiliation with Butterfly Labs other than they are sending their customers to us for hosting as they decided not to do it themselves.

My apologies, Joe. I was not aware that Josh has abandoned his very own hosting company working directly with BFL.

Ok, I've got some numbers back.  I need a head count of how many people are interested and the number of machines.  If you do not want to make that public, just PM me your info.  Once I get a rough final count, I can negotiate the price for the space properly.

This would depend on how it affects one's upgrade from FPGAs to ASICs.

I am working directly with BFL on this.  It will not affect your upgrade, other than get it to you faster.  It will also save your shipping costs, as BFL will not charge you shipping if you are hosting them here locally in KC (also means you don't have to pay for return shipping and you get the upgrade immediately instead of waiting for your unit to make it's way back to BFL when your upgrade turn comes up).

It probably proved to be not profitable, hence handing over all the Bitcoin mining hosting reins to Joe, of which is probably in better position to profit with such a venture then Josh was with the data center he owns.

In closing, a very simple question: Josh, where is you data center located?
7688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoins transferred under 5 secs. w/o confirmations! How possible? on: July 26, 2013, 09:57:34 PM
Hello, new bitcoiners.

Currently, we're discussing how bitcoins can change hands in mere seconds without any confirmations. Too bad you won't see it because this thread has been moved to the Technical Support section of this forum, a place I didn't even knew existed until the penning of this post.

Am I being told that this issue is not even relevant, hence the move?

Maybe it was taken into consideration where the wallet stemmed from, hence the hiding of this important (so I thought) thread.

At the moment, I'm fuckin' beside myself! (not dissing the person who moved the thread)

With all due respect, Phinn, it was moved because it fits better here. The Bitcoin Discussion forum is for things that don't go well elsewhere. In fact, if you look at the average number of replies, Bitcoin Discussion threads are less noticed because of all the clutter. (Average: 16.3 replies in Bitcoin Discussion, for Economics/Speculation it is 31.Cool.

Thank you so kindly, dree. Your reply makes so much sense. Apologies for being an asshole this time. (sincerely)

I now look forward to a logical explanation.

Peace, all.

Glad to see you made it outta Newbie. For all practical purposes, this NPO seems like a viable entity deserving funding from Bitcoin 100.

I'm sure you won't mind if another 24 hours passes so that if anybody has a concern it'll give them time to express it, but I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be a problem. If nothing is posted on this thread shedding any negative light by tomorrow evening, I'll contact Rassah and get the ball a rollin'. In fact, that ball is already in motion with this reply.

Bruno Kučinskas

If they are successful in their application for funding I'll go through the details of setting them up to use Bitcoin.

"Give a man a Bitcoin and he'll convert it to fiat, teach him how to use it and he'll join the economy."

If anyone knows places where the virtual doctors can buy the equipment for their charity in btc it will have an even more positive effect on the Bitcoin economy.

What type/kind of equipment are we talking about here? A general idea would be fine.

As far as converting to fiat, BitPay comes to mind, with the possibility of zero (0) fees depending on your location and NPO status. I don't want to speak for them, but off the cuff I believe you qualify. Tony has an excellent team in place over at bitcoin.com.
7690  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin 100: Developed Specifically for Non-Profits on: July 26, 2013, 09:40:25 PM
Thanks Bruno. I'm still keeping up with this, and am aware, so no need to contact me. I'm currently just sitting back and apparently just letting you do all the work  Grin

Maybe we can ask if Bitcoinstore can add medical supplies to their huge list of things?

You're doing fine. No problem, bud. No qualms here. But that edd...  Grin

That's interesting. Maybe that's why some people didn't get their coins last week.

I believe that address is Davouts vanity address. Hence 1davout. Why is his amount unusual?

Who's Davout?

One of the instawallet guys. It's not unlikely that he had a few coins in a wallet at the time of the hack really. If anything it's good to see that he had to go through the same process.

Makes sense! Family, friends and business associates should get paid prior to those still waiting as long as they went through the same claim process.

I gotta get out the old-school-state-of-mind of having such wait till last, since last being only a couple weeks or so away, akin to parents sitting down for dinner and letting their children eat first.

Besides, he probably needed the money more badly than the rest us due to some dice game: https://blockchain.info/tx/829ee922d522ef14f23685bae9381152f2013e9617f1ee3b612835af224f37bd

Wow, two of those wallets were over 1400BTC each.

I see why some people have been very worried here on the forums.

And this is apparently how much they have left in instawallet:     7,323.12048901 BTC. (about 50% initial funds)

This is odd! Notice the list is in alphabetical order and stops at 1Qxxxxxxx..... https://blockchain.info/address/19vZF13np1n33xBBxw6v2vbnC37P1UXpGN

Are we led to believe that not a single person qualified to receive coins at this time had a wallet address starting with 1S... to 1Z...?

Overall, good show!

A simple question before I go: Any idea who owns the following address gleaned from above--1DavouTAsveznCFHsz688xvbrRAq4u2qm8 (3.5996995 BTC)? I'm just curious because the 3.5996995 BTC figure looks odd to me, albeit this person probably deserves his coins like the rest of us for waiting just as long for the return of his/her money.

If you don't know this person, no problem. Just thought I'd ask that simple question, for I've been on a simple question kick for a couple days now.
7696  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: July 26, 2013, 04:09:59 PM
Well, he started a pretty long thread about pirate here a year ago:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=94900

Kinda funny reading through that thread now and reading the posts defending pirate. Might be a good reference for those still holding out hope that BFL will deliver their ASIC miner.

Sure, nobody's saying Micon hasn't been fighting the good fight, he's for instance called out Patrick Harnett first, MP closed the deal on that one. I called out Pirate and Vandroyi closed the deal on that one. I hope I'm not offending anyone in particular if I say a bunch of people called out BFL over the many, many months that scam's been gouging noobs.

With all due respect toward Bryan, he was not the first to express concerns about BFL, though he did provide a powerful voice. I wasn't even the first, but I was the first to make the Laissez Faire City and MyWebSpawner lottery connection to Sonny Vleisides, even providing a link of at least one HYIP that went bust with its investors pointing the finger his way. It wasn't V-Money, but now I need to look into that.

Dogbert once lost money on high risk investments. That's why he had to invent bertcoins.
http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/1991-08-22/ looks surprisingly like Cypriot situation. I think there was one other case when someone parted Dogbert from his money but couldn't find it now.

Trying to find it for you, and came across these gems:

Wow greyhawk, can you dick-ride any harder.

I'll try, but I don't want to see no complaints about broken dicks.

Broken dicks; Bags o' dicks; Dick York; Dick Sargent; I say we're getting Bewitched!
7699  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL is Assembling 400 (not 300) Units a Day! on: July 26, 2013, 06:18:51 AM
Look at all the white-knighting on Jody's shipping blog.  Lonely nerds will white knight anything with a vagina, even on the internet.

I can't tell which posts are from BFL employees and which are from pathetic white knights

Part of the reason BFL sucks so much cock is they they even bothered to hire women.

Dude, you'll be white-knighting also if you just concede to the fact, like I have, that 400 units a day shipped for the past 21 days is a major accomplishment given all the shortfalls BFL encountered.

And don't forget to ask simple questions at your end of your post so that Josh can address them as he has so promised, similar to what SftSpike asked on BFL's forum back in January of this year: https://forums.butterflylabs.com/bfl-forum-miscellaneous/690-13-jan-2013-asic-update-discussion-thread-41.html#post12289

Josh, can you comment on the FCC certification process? Has BFL already acquired the necessary certification? If so, how was that accomplished without working chips on hand?

More curious than anything - if you can't answer these questions yet, that is fine.

10 pages later Josh never got around to addressing the question, probably because of CES, of which is more than understandable. But that was then, and this is now--full-production-city. Josh has plenty of time on his hand now to address a myriad of simple questions.

To prove what I've stated above is true, I will ask a very, very, very simple question for all to see how Josh replies.

Josh, where is the data center you own located?

Jalapenos shipping through November 9 paydate

Little Singles: none shipped today (today I should be a coward and turn off comments, because although it's not my fault they haven't made Little Single boards, you will pummel me with your comments for it.) Little Singles are still ahead of Singles and MiniRigs, though.

Singles: It seems we have only 4 more orders left for June 23, but still no PSU's so I can't ship those orders yet. So we shipped orders from June 23 and June 24, 2012 which were able to accept units without PSU's. Thanks again for emailing your willingness to accept units without PSU's. It makes sending orders to production so much faster. I don't answer those emails--I archive them in a folder for reference as I'm sending the orders. If your order comes up and I don't see an email from you about the PSU's I will email you, so don't worry about whether I got it.

    MiniRigs from June 23 shipped.

I don't have any singles on order yet, but if I did I would forgo the PSU for two reasons, firstly to get mining!, and secondly to get through customs easier.

LMAO,I got my 30GH'er July 1st,I can't believe BFL hasn't got past the 23rd or 24th of June yet,3 freakin weeks later  Shocked

I am SOO happy to be off the preorder list,NEVER AGAIN BFL  Angry

You say that now, but just wait till Q4/13 rolls around and BFL shows photoshopped flipped pics of the next gen minin' rigs on their website. You'll be singin' a different tune then while your fatass fingers rest on your keyboard readied to engage the the pre-order button hopin' to be in early queue position.

You'll be braggin' your ass off with, "Look at me! Look at me! Pre-order #1X." Then, all the naysayers will be signing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeQsZOQqO6I
