R8 - Cointerra?  Grin

Who knows? I just flow with the go.  Smiley

For instance: if someone came to me to become vetted as a GBC, and happened to suggest that...oh...they have (or will soon have) funds to buy half of an $11K MPP Sierra...then you might have the fastest Rig GB buyout of that size, in this forum's short history.  Wink  Smiley

Sounds like sci-fi if you were to read that last sentence in 2008, but it actually happened and the co-op has become much, much stronger and diverse with thousands of dollars worth of expert pro bono work and funds donated by myself and 5 others to make this at-cost co-op operate well and thrive.

I can't tell you what a pleasure it is to be dealing with other responsible adults. I love that the Co-op's leaders know what to do without needed to have their hands held thru the whole process. No man or woman is an island and this GB Coordinator is humbled and proud of this lil co-op that could.

You guys make me laugh, I've made friends who I'm positive I'll be friends for years, and it's an honor to co-lead this merry band of glass half full optimists.

Hahaha I see what you did there, also I still win so far on fastest GB.

Hey, who said I was talking about you?  Cheesy

Besides, you & I hold the record because you "cheated" & had half of the shares already pre-reserved when we just happened to find out about the ASIC Industry's first ever Flash Sale.  Wink  Grin

OK, put me down for 10 shares.

Still angry that I missed R5/R6 due to travel and being ill...

Hey mrmo, welcome back!

I'll soft reserve shares for you & Tiennou who's also rejoining us. Hope travel was fun and sorry to hear about the illness.

These 12 shares don't appear to be in my unofficial count so:

It would be nice to know when these reserves will be paid as it will speed things up.

I have an announcement.  Sad

I won't go into details, but some heavy RL stuff happened near -R- so please go easy on him for requests & such, if you can for a bit. He's fine & I won't hurt our friendship by revealing what happened but I'd appreciate it if you gals & guys can give him some time/space.

If you have some urgent matters related to R5/R6, please contact Thomas or myself first.

Thank you.

It's looking great!
Thank you so much for doing this.

I'm learning how to code, maybe I could help with graphs at some point!

Yeah, I'll have to put it in source control and make it look less like a monolithic blob of code I hastily threw together. =)

Thanks again mootinator. I appreciate your contributions. I'm humbled by all the pro bono work and collaborations I've seen within this Cooperative. We *really* do cooperate and it's not just an empty description.

For myself: My first program ran with BASIC on a C-64 (64 mighty kilobytes of RAM: for *everything*), and was of a balloon floating into the digital sky. I actually spent a couple of years in CompSci back in the day, learning Pascal & later on Java before I had the revelation that I didn't want to spend the rest of my life squashing bugs made from my own incompetence.

No worries. I understand & I'm sorry to hear your GBs haven't been going well. I'm sure I'll see you again.  Smiley

So 1 R1B share @ $43 + $482 for the UPS/Batteries.

BTW, hope you don't mind: after talking it over with firsttimeuser, while he could still use spare PSUs, I may ship that overkill UPS I'm buying from you to Missouri to help service R2-R6 Jupiters, Baby Jets, and Sierras to Missouri and buy a smaller UPS/battery backup for R1 which is only about 350-400W.

Would it be ok if I send you a label to print later this week after I pay you?

It would help the co-op out much better this way IMO. I think that's a much better investment of my resources into the co-op. What do you think?

Also, re: Overclocking; these Rigs have a Turbo mode. We'll see about doing a Super.Turbo mode depending on the temp, fan speeds, and HW error rates we're seeing. We're going to have much more focused A/C cooling than the avg. home (or even server room) based Server or PC will ever see.

If they're late, this rig can take the extra module(s) without having to buy new hardware, which was another draw, when we were considering R7 options. We may purposely leave room in the rig for this purpose.
796  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN, 85/100 shares avail.] R7: Bitmine Rig, 800GH/s, At-cost + Host, $70=8GH/s on: October 10, 2013, 05:32:39 PM
Hey slayernine, I think it's a given that it's going to be high. I think it's also a given that mfgs will continue to struggle to put our hardware. The reason being: it's damn hard and expensive to develop and produce ASIC wafers.

bobsag3 & I were up late on skype last night talking about how KnC's rollout was only a semi-success (pissed premium host customers that weren't first & some paid $4k a jupiter per yr to host, and many people still waiting on day 1 orders).

Bitmine's customer protection plan is that for every 10 days late they are, you get 10% extra hashrate. After 60 days lateness, they will give a full refund. We've pretty much decided too: that since we'll have an extra cold A/C cabinet we're overclocking the stuffings on these rigs (safely of course).

I'm not sure how awful it'll be if it comes to a full mass refund but in my dealings with Giorgio I've found him to be reasonable like an adult, instead of acting like a child like we've seen from 2 companies that were early entrants,
797  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED]R5: KnC Jupiter, BELOW-COST + Host! Arrives Oct.7! $78 + Bonuses! on: October 10, 2013, 05:21:00 AM
Well, my take on it is this:

This Jupiter probably has a life expectancy of about three months before it doesn't cover the hosting costs, which include the electricity.  Efficiency is not an issue.  If it continues to run this well just as it is, I'd suggest not upgrading the firmware or otherwise changing anything about it, for as long as it does.

Now you could probably force a a vote on this if you wanted, and I'd just have my 5 shares to vote in that case, but I think the fact that it's cranking out nearly 600 Gh/s would be a pretty strong argument for leaving it alone....

I'd say a 50% overclock is *great* in anyone's book not running LN2 for geek cred.

Reminds of that time back in the day when mah Celeron Overclocked 50% to 450 whole Megahurts.

I'd say one working 600GH/s miner in-hand is easily worth two 650GH/s miners in the bush flames. I'm pretty sure that's how that folk wisdom goes.

Can we pay via PayPal?

Hi ishkur,

I'd rather we don't because the only way it makes financial sense is if it's sent as a gift. Too many gifts may get my wife's ebay-linked account flagged. Another thing is it takes 3-4 business days to transfer to checking so I can buy BTC at Coinbase at a 1% fee. Your alternative is BTCQuick at 7.5% fees.

I already promised 1 other person a PP payment to get this GB going. I'll take one more PP, which can be yours if getting BTC is too difficult. But that's my limit for this R7 GB, which is 2 PP payments sent as a gift so I don't have to deal w/ fees, illegal chargebacks, and fraud.

The only way I'd take more than 2 PP gifts for this R7, is if the buyers agrees to an additional 3% Paypal fee (it's normally 2.9% + 30 cents so just rounding up) over the $70 share price, so they'd be $72.10 instead.

Of course, that opens up another can of worms with chargebacks which is another reason why merchants love BTC...
799  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Fundraising for HF B1 Upgrade Promo, DZ Miners Cooperative, Round 1 gents on: October 10, 2013, 04:37:59 AM

Of course, these come with the same pre-sales condtions as other R1B & R2B shares: the original share owners deserve their allotted upgrade share(s) back if they come up with BTC for them before upgrade parts ship. Hate to sound like a broken record, but I'm a tireless advocate about protecting my customers and their rights.
I think this rule must have a deadline... Huh

I think it should be available but up until the ship date is kinda a kick in the ol'nuts if you get my drift, they can pay the day before and save a ton and not risk anything I'd say a cut off around 2 weeks before the ship date or something.
[/quote]

True. I can't be expected to babysit everyone too. Trying to strike a balance.

What do you guys think is a fair cutoff date? If they've gone off the radar completely, you can't blame the rest of us for continuing on at...life.

Grin I hear ya. Still not sure what happened with Round four when I lost my boxed set in my own co-op thanks to oversales at the end.  Tongue

BTW: Also we did pick Bitmine because it's supposed to ship a month earlier.
