1441  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY] Buy a 100GH/s KnC Mercury thru my ID, get $100 or BTC back quickly! on: August 10, 2013, 08:09:27 AM
My final comment/evidence  (besides pre-escrow) - unless someone else wants to call me a no good, dirty rotten scammer without proof: You can contact my wife via ebay - as long as you use clean language - who does have a 100% feedback rating selling & buying her stuff and my stuff over 10 years with 160 ratings at -

http://myworld.ebay.com/rainbowlady03

I don't think there's anyone on this forum that has a comparable trust rating of 160 or more or a 10 year vetted track record. She'll answer any questions you may have about her hubby's new obsession or digital alter ego here.

Here's a few successful sales & 1 open auction of my stuff I helped prep to sell (nerdy stuff the avg. wife doesn't care for):

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Butterfly-Labs-5GH-5-5-5-8GH-ASIC-Bitcoin-Miner-In-Hand-not-a-Pre-order-/130958142957?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e7db6aded
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-Butterfly-Labs-5GH-s-Jalapeno-Bitcoin-Miner-PREORDERS-Cert-ETA-Late-Sept-/130962790801?hash=item1e7dfd9991 (Instead of going to war with PP/BFL for a refund at this time, I turned a negative into a positive. If this buyer goes for a refund in Oct.-Nov., we both lose out on about $100 but the buyer has better protections then most pre-orders elsewhere)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/48-Custom-Ritewing-Flying-Wing-built-by-CKS-ARF-RARE-/130961676135?pt=Radio_Control_Vehicles&hash=item1e7dec9767
http://www.ebay.com/itm/MakerGear-Mosaic-M1-3D-Printer-New-/130943491079?hash=item1e7cd71c07 (Buyer has $ on hold @ PP, while heavy 3-D printer is enroute via USPS Priority Mail boat/ground; there's an oxymoron)

Suspicion of newbies is understood. Calling someone a scammer with ZERO evidence to back it up? Not cool, sorry for venting. I am disappoint.
1442  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC Miner Discounts--Gauging Interest. on: August 10, 2013, 07:13:14 AM
Vorksholk, You've got a great idea. I'm sure KnC is expecting resellers to get creative. I went ahead & cloned your concept: except in the right forum, hehe, and for the KnC Mercury instead before anyone else had the same idea.

We'll see if there's any interest but I've already seen that if you're new, some people will call you a scammer without any proof.  Roll Eyes

Ah, well I'm a big boy & not a helpless babe in the woods:

Yeah, I was trying to make money from these scams too somehow, by warning others.  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

I'm sure that's all evidence of scammer behavior on my part.  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

If it gives y'all the warm fuzzies, I'll escrow 5 BTC w/ John K. or BTCrow *before* anyone else's money changes hands directly to KnC. I'll escrow all 10 promised BTC if the majority of buyers want this. The order $ goes directly to KnC & I don't have anything to do w/ payment methods to them.

Feel free to search for "Bitcoin", "ASIC Miner",  or "Bitcoin Miner". Note who keeps showing up in all the reviews, warning people of scammers.  Angry

Woah! Chill dude! If you read that thread I'm WARNING people multiple times not to do what I did, which was order too prematurely from "companies" not showing enough evidence of working hardware: it was a rookie move that I've been a little pissed about & warning others about since! ASX Projects sucks! I've already written those funds off. I'm about ready to fake order the rest of their stock so they can't trick anyone else. I've kinda gone to consumer vigilante mode vs. scammers since then.

I said I'll escrow 5 BTC with John K. I'll escrow the whole thing if people want. I'm sure if all 10 people complain directly to KnC about Reseller X in Aug.-Sept., they're not shipping any "free miner" in October.

I'm new to Bitcoin mining (& I admit I screwed up forgetting/not reading the side bar rules) but I'm *not* new to electronics or to buying/selling new/used electronics on the 'net. Also, if you dig deeper into my posts here & on Reddit like a stalker like you, you'll see I make many mentions about Kauai the avg. person wouldn't know, which is the *same* island the ebay account which payments may be made from will be used.

Here, let me show how these accounts are linked, you'll note both sites don't have the exact same pics (many similar) & every single one of these pics I posted of this scrapbook are new to the web:

http://www.reddit.com/r/TRADE/comments/1jm207/wts_one_of_a_kind_james_dean_scrapbook_with/
http://www.ebay.com/itm/James-Dean-Scrapbook-One-of-a-kind-many-rare-pics-and-clippings-/130960859380

Also, if you feel like contacting the admins at Coingig.com, Ken Metral will vouch for me at support@coingig.com . Ask him if "J B" has been helpful removing scams from there *&* if I've had any successful escrow sales there using BTC. I've helped removed multiple scams there, like fracta15 & have also pointed out scams at BTC Classifeds as "D Z". I wasn't going to mention this, but you're kinda being a dick.  Wink

Edit: That's weird. Someone just bought out the rest of the ASX Project stock at $103K or 1049 BTC. I have a feeling that will keep happening until I finally hear back from them.  Grin Cheesy

Mods, sorry! Please feel free to delete or move this thread. Discussions about this Group Buy will be moved to the Group Buys board at:

1447  Bitcoin / Group buys / [GROUP BUY, CLOSED] Buy a 100GH/s KnC Mercury..., get $100 or BTC back quickly! on: August 10, 2013, 03:56:48 AM
8/11: Well seems no one's interested in 5% discounted KnC miners on the low end with it being escrowed & all funds being handled by KnC. Interesting that they haven't gotten me a reseller ID yet 2 days later. Guess they'll have to try other marketing techniques. Closing this out.
Just signed up for the KnC Reseller program. Unlike others, I'm targeting the 100GH/s KnC Mercury at $2K shipping in early to mid-October (most likely). Buy a KnC Mercury Miner through my reseller ID & after 10 sell, I'll pay out 10 folks BTC or Paypal (preferably & faster). I can pay you Paypal immediately or BTC within 3-4 business days.

My wife & I are veteran ebay seller/buyers since 2003 & have a 100% feedback rating (links avail on PM). I recently sold 3 Jalapenos there, both in-hand & pre-orders. I've also been active on the boards here in the short time I've been here & have also been contacting folks for purchasing their gear for my own use & for resale.

Been active on Reddit over a year, here's some links of me sharing BTC & BTC mining knowledge - what little I have):

http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMining/comments/1j71eq/so_im_told_my_upgradable_50gh_1k_asic_clone_order/ (gotta start somewhere, I guess)

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1jzv99/77_btc_wheres_mikey_from_the_life_cereal/

So sign up here or shoot me a line but I aim to get a discounted Mercury & will pay 10 folks 1 BTC (or $100) whichever is lesser at the close of 10 sales   (Mt. Gox price, higher usually) via PayPal (pref.) instantly or BTC within 3-4 Business Days. If the group wants (majority decision), I'm willing to escrow half of it, BTC5  with John K. or BTCrow as soon as 10 sell to put some skin in the game & guarantee you get paid.

What's in it for you? After 10 sell, you'll get a near instant payback on your KnC Mercury purchase so you can go bring the family out to a nice dinner! Or you can hoard a shiny digital BTC or partial BTC like:"My precious..."

Another way of looking at it is: I'd be paying most of your shipping charges.

PM me for questions. Aloha!   Grin

Edit: I mostly *lurk* on Reddit, usually posting here & there but reading daily. Didn't even sign up when I first started reading stuff from there 2+ years ago.

You're in the wrong forum, mate! This goes in Marketplace \ Goods \ Computer Hardware

I just offered someone 2.15 BTC for his K16 pre-order shipping in Sept. from t13hydra.

What are you guys expecting as reasonable offers?
1450  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: August 09, 2013, 07:38:07 PM
Curious to see their pricing so I can make my final decision on my last rig order of 2013.

Since they said they'll beat everyone's pricing I'm guessing they'll offer a 500GH/s unit at $4.5-5K. If it's somehow lower than this I'll be pleasantly surprised.

They'll need to do much better then that.  You have an $7k, 400Mh/s unit in September, and then a $5.6k 400Mh/s unit in Late October.  The difficulty is going to double between those time periods, and likely most of the mining profitability will be gone - the delay will cost more then the 'discount'.

Great points. I revise my estimate down to: 500GH/s at $3.5-4K, assuming shipping begins in late Nov. - early Dec.

1452  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official ASICMINER Hardware Information on: August 09, 2013, 06:39:58 PM
Well this is the Aliexpress price:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/ASICMINER-Bitcoin-Miner-5GHS-new-version-Contact-me-before-you-pay-Limited-quantity-Old-customers-first/1112611704.html

It's about 15-ish BTC for 5GH/s model (keeping in mind no one currently has 5GH/s+ units in stock in the West). Seller guarantees delivery in 15 days.

friedcat, are these models on Aliexpress illegal clones or are these legit models selling thru a different channel?
1453  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 09, 2013, 05:32:01 PM
Sebastian,

Thank you for the arrows you've taken to the knee for the cause. I have no horse in this race but I do recognize the stress and sacrifices made by those trying to orchestrate group buys.

If humans didn't take risks we'd still be swinging in the trees & using rocks as our primary tools!

For your sake & everyone else's that pre-ordered, I hope you get your chips very soon.
1454  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining Equipment Manufacturers -- updates xCrowd and #HashFast on: August 09, 2013, 02:26:52 AM
You're showing Hashfast's lead time as August. Huh

They just announced specs. Shirley, they may be fast but they can't be that fast!

Is that lead time correct?

EDIT: Their site says shipping begins Oct. 20-30.
1455  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: >>>HashFast Endorsement on: August 08, 2013, 11:04:18 PM
Intriguing. I'm new here but you obviously have the background to come to your own educated conclusions. You make me want to hold off on my last 2013 rig pre-order just to see what HashFast will unveil in the next couple of weeks.

Buyer refunds in mind?
Miner Protection Program?
Water Cooling?

Sounds like someone's been paying attention to the gripes of miners & their pre-order difficulties. Ideally, I'd want to support an American ASIC mfg. over foreign ones, but companies like BFL make it so hard!
1456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 08, 2013, 07:24:21 PM
I'm sure it's just one of those cosmic coincidences you hear of.   Cheesy Roll Eyes

All I know is I just sold my BFL pre-orders cuz I'm sick of their so-called "300-400 units" shipping a day with no real progress.

Will be spending the proceeds on KnC and/or BitFury pre-order. You know: companies that'll be shipping product in volume soon (we hope).
1457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 08, 2013, 06:48:48 PM
Yup, that's the one. This, along with the chat logs and offer amount...

...curious timing, no?
1458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 08, 2013, 06:25:34 PM
Hmm, so that's what became of that $100K offer on ebay that was declined last month for a MR. The timeline & accompanying offer amount makes a perverse sort of sense.
1459  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: August 08, 2013, 06:21:43 PM
Gosh, why did we work so hard to get them fully working?  We could have been selling non-functional boards ages ago!

That would still beat the competition in terms of delivery....

I'd buy halffast boards today over full-fast boards next month Smiley

The proto rig is rock-solid after 24 hours of running at the new chip.conf.

These asics are curious critters - if you have a bad chip on a board, software will disable the chip in config.  This causes adjacent chips to see a little more power and therefore get a slight overclock.  For example most chips are producing around 1.5 - 1.6 GH/s actual nonces.  But some chips are at 2.1 GH/s.  In this way, even with some duds the full rig is producing 410 - 415GH/s actual accepted shares.  Even Slush stats have caught up and show average hashrate over 400G at the pool.

I think this is unique - it seems most mining hardware is rated at a certain hashpower, but true output is typically less than promised.

That's all well & good that there seems to be an overclocking effect that compensates for dead or underperforming chips. The danger comes from long term overclocking of the other chips and the excesss heat/voltage generated from the overclock leading to prematurely failing ASICs and other components.

As a lot of us IT system builders & designers know when overclocking: heat is the enemy.

At the lab I used to work for, we had a saying about blown or burnt electronics: "When the magic smoke comes out of the box, it'll no longer work."
