1461  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: August 08, 2013, 07:14:17 AM
Hmm, of course I'd need an M-board to host it or it'll sit until the October shipment.

Any "naughty" M-boards not up to spec in that batch that just need a little TLC like capacitor swaps or something minor? Had to ask while we're on the subject. <Promise not to forget to discharge it first.  Shocked  > I'll be more than happy to take that naughty board & give it a good e-spank. Grin
1462  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: August 08, 2013, 07:09:00 AM
Hi Dave,

Please put me down for a couple of "bad boards" too!

If they even partially hash they're still better than nothing. I used to be a Sr. E-tech & I have access to a full lab that we could hook it up to an o-scope & other fun tools.

Now...if only you could take the plunge.

1464  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I Want your PPUSD funds! Get btc fast! on: August 07, 2013, 11:47:17 PM
Is this sarcasm? Actually, I figured out how to pm. In my defense, I don't use these forums, so I'm not familiar with them or how they work. Only reason I'm on here is cus bitinstant is down. Bitcoins are hard to get it seems.

needcoins: Being totally serious here; no one here takes BTC for Paypal (or viceversa) seriously due to the Chargeback scam where people get their BTC then tell PayPal: "Charge it back, I never got my goods." The seller's screwed with no recourse.

If you really need BTC quickly, you should sign up at btcquick.com

I was ready to buy BTC the same day once I got everything verified. In fact, it was probably faster than doing the BitInstant $ => Mt. Gox BTC method many use. As a newbie, you'd be limited to $250 worth of BTC purchases a day (if they're in stock) on btcquick.com
1465  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WTF Avalon? Ship the Chips! on: August 07, 2013, 11:14:01 PM
You mean like this?

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/The-Block-Erupter-Blade-Fried-cat-blade-10g-Bitcoin-Miner/1114058606.html
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/The-Block-Erupter-Blade-5G-Bitcoin-Miner-Price-1699-USD-ACCEPT-BTC-16-BTC/1143248803.html

The 5GH/s Blade isnt' even available outside China yet (still too overpriced; if it was this price 2 months ago I would've been interested). I'd have to say that these are cut down or partial AM blade clones as they haven't announced them or listed them on the AM site, and Gen2 chips are supposed to arrive in Oct/Nov.
1466  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: another new asic vendor on: August 07, 2013, 09:07:08 PM
Hmm, why would you buy when they're charging almost double KnC's price for comparable equipment *and* KnC is much further along then them?
1467  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Not worth mining any longer for anyone not already in. Am I wrong? on: August 07, 2013, 06:17:58 PM
As for myself, in the BTC world I have a # of bets.

1 that went badly & is most likely gone to ASX project: 50GH/s
1 to BFL (2 Jallys): 10GH/s
1 to Bitfury or KnC: 50 or 100GH/s
Total planned: 110-160GH/s, on hand: none

Got enough funds I can afford the 50GH/s BF or a 100GH/s KnC. Bitfury will most likely make early Oct. & it's upgradeable to 400GH/s which helps for planning against obsolescence but KnC gets you 50GH/s more for only $200 more *if* they can meet their schedule. Dilemma, dilemma.

BTW, flipped a Jally I got for cheap & I nearly made ROI on the pre-orders I've made even including the ASX Project noobtastic brain fart!  Grin

I'm long on BTC. Also own 1.01 AM shares because I like the dividends aspect and that they re-invest 25% to new TH.

Never heard of ASX Project before but there site indicates they have 150Gh/s units in stock.  Is your 50Gh/s unit being shipped now?

I'm told my 50GH/s unit is "Complete": http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMining/comments/1j71eq/so_im_told_my_upgradable_50gh_1k_asic_clone_order/

No updates since. Sad

Stay away! Until you hear of someone receiving an ASX unit, don't send them a Satoshi!

He was being sarcastic. Were you trying for irony?
1469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 07, 2013, 02:37:22 AM
B.I.  (Big Island) Right by Volcanoes National Park. I can see Pu-u O-o Vent glowing Pele's Red Madness from my house. Most of my immediate family lives on Maui... Where I moved from. (was paying $1,200/mo for a studio) I was easily able to buy land & build here. 3 acre lots are still available under 20k

Yes, but Pele might take your land & the coqui frogs will drive you nuts!  Wink
1470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 07, 2013, 02:28:54 AM
Transam808..B.I. as well, eh?  I'm near Volcano... U?
Im over in Kona my self.
Buggah. I was hoping you were Hilo-Side.

Hey Phoenix, what island are you on? If you're on Oahu, we've got all the major islands covered except for Maui because I'm at the top of the island chain.  Cheesy

Yeah, I'm finalizing my Solar PV install with Haleakala Solar. Gonna have to try to deal with our gnarly electricity rates somehow. I also bought mining shares with ASICMiner to hedge against hardware depreciation & mining power loss due to network growth. May have to shift to pure mining pool shares once I build up enough BTC & if it becomes too expensive to run my mining gear on order.

BTW, I was interested in KnC or BitFury. If you feel like selling a share or some shares I'd be up for committing $1.5-2K to help pay for one of your miners. I'd help with electricity, of course. I was going to do my own pre-order on a Mercury soon but since you have a early pre-order I wouldn't mind helping out on the costs you're already committed to. No pressure, just something I thought of right now.
1471  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Assembled mining rig under 10 BTC on: August 07, 2013, 02:07:42 AM
You can buy them now if you buy directly from China:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/ASICMINER-Bitcoin-Miner-5GHS-new-version-Contact-me-before-you-pay-Limited-quantity-Old-customers-first/1112611704.html

But at $1.5K (w/ S&H) for 5GH/s? I would've gone for that about a month ago out of desperation but not now. I have a feeling that AM is going to have to discount that quite a bit in the near future with everything getting ready to ship soon. Their Gen2 chips are supposed to arrive shortly, however.

Actually, what am I doing? I'm an AM shareholder, so please feel free to buy all the AM blades & USB dongles you want. Smiley
1472  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Assembled mining rig under 10 BTC on: August 07, 2013, 01:06:45 AM
10 btc I will send you 10x USB Block Erupters + 2x DLINK HUB-7's

everything you need to start a ~3.3 gh/s miner.

I'm extremely trusted on these boards & in the poker world.

Sorry, in your own words you may be trusted, but that's not a very good price with the prices going down, net. difficulty going up daily & all the ASICs coming online. This poor complete newbie would be paying 9 BTC for 10 BEs @ 0.9 BTC each (used no less).

If you're going the USB BE route, you should be able to score a brand new one on ebay or BTC Guild for $60-70 or 0.6BTC. Still a bad deal that may never make ROI (unless BTC really takes off). TBH, in your price range your better off saving up a little more. You'd be better off angling for an Oct. delivery of a 25GH/s Bitfury unit for $1300 (12.1 BTC) which easily blows away spending ~$1100 for 3.3GH/s now. [Also, you'll be able to upgrade the Bitfury over time by installing $500 25GH/s modules which max out at 400GH/s. This will help you to deal with the inevitable network difficulty rise].

Word to the wise: those USB BEs prices are going to continue to drop like a rock from the 2 BTC initial price they were originally introduced at.

Basically: Please don't take advantage of the noobs here...that's what ebay is for!
1473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 07, 2013, 12:21:15 AM
Btw has knc-china.com and kncminer.cn been mentioned before?

So they are targeting the chinese market as well for which they have different bank details for payment:

Account Name: Laurel Financial Network Technology Co., Ltd.
Bank: China Construction Bank
Branch Name: Shanghai Xiangyang Road Branch
Account number: 31001555900050005127

And a skype name too: kncminerchina
WHOA red flag
We are NOT aware of ANY OTHER site than kncminer.com  those are most likely a scam!

Hi Phoenix1969,

I saw that you're in Hawaii & you have a few KnCs on order. Glad to see I'm not the only one in Hawaii that sees a BTC groundswell starting to build. I'm still debating between Bitfury or KnC for my next order.

Too bad there aren't more Hawaii folks doing mining; we could make our own Hawaii pool.  Grin
1474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal screwing over their customers - why can't I just use bitcoin?! on: August 06, 2013, 10:40:15 PM
I can't wait for BTC to destroy them. When I get enough BTC I will *never* *ever* use PayPal again (unless I unload some electronics via the wife's ebay acct).

Screw you Paypal & your stupid fees & a-hole rules that benefit them & screw over every customer. G'luck trying to get your money back in dispute resolutions. WTF do we pay you guys such usurious rates for, if not dispute resolution?
1475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think people pulling out of mining is good for Bitcoin? on: August 06, 2013, 10:35:47 PM
Miners are the working class of Bitcoin. ASIC miners are the greedy 1%.

CPU miners basically said the same thing when GPU mining hit the scene and utterly destroyed what one could do with a CPU.  Not only were they faster but you could stack 3,4,5,6 even 8 GPU into one rig.  Now that is greedy compared to the limited output of a single high cost CPU.

The 1% aren't mining.  To be in the 1% means you are a hundred millionaire if not a billionaire.

Still buy a low end ASIC, problem solved.  The reality though is most ASIC pre-orderers will likely loose money.  Way too much prebought capacity chasing the same amount of coins.  Not everyone but a lot of them.  If you think it is easy money then buy an ASIC.

I hate to ruin your misconception but if you net $31K USD annually, guess what?

http://www.globalrichlist.com/

Congratulations! On a global basis: You're in the 1%!

It's likely 99%+ of the members on this board fit this criteria.

Perhaps you guys meant the 0.01% & the 0.001%. Many live like the two brothers in Trading Places.  Grin
1476  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: August Bitfury Pre-order folks: any updates? on: August 06, 2013, 05:34:00 PM
Thanks for the update guys. Missed that little nugget of info amidst all the labrat controversy going on in the BF US thread.
1477  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: August Bitfury Pre-order folks: any updates? on: August 06, 2013, 07:34:04 AM
Yes, but it's August so I was hoping someone had a shipping update or better yet their lucky hands on working units.
1478  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Jally down to about .1 BTC per day now - what is yours? on: August 06, 2013, 06:57:50 AM
Aw, why do you have to ruin my fun?  Grin

In all honesty, I still have a valid point about what I mentioned about cutting your losses on equipment. Say you already made 2x ROI or more, you can consider selling used equipment still in demand while they still have high resale value so you can reinvest it in mining hardware. By doing so you've locked in future returns which as we all know are uncertain but trend downwards for older hardware.

You could even just re-invest it in BTC that'll probably do better then the Jally going forward, which will continue to lose value and mining power in a world where 400GH/s are starter units!
1479  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Jally down to about .1 BTC per day now - what is yours? on: August 06, 2013, 06:31:11 AM
I don't mean to be crude or smug but you *can* think about selling them before they lose too much value. You invested $ & time into them and it's ok to sell older hardware to "cut losses" when the iron is still hot in order to lock in gains in your investment.

You can sell it to me if you want before it becomes a doorstopper. I'll pay you up to $1.3k immediately PP or BTC if you want to unload it before it becomes just a coffee warmer, ya poor fellow.  Grin  Cheesy
1480  Bitcoin / Hardware / August Bitfury Pre-order folks: any updates? on: August 06, 2013, 06:16:32 AM
So word is that Bitfury units are starting to show up on US shores.

http://thegenesisblock.com/bitfury-400-ghs-bitcoin-mining-rig-hits-us-shores/

Any updates from the lucky rat b'tards that scored the 1 day preorder window for August orders? I missed it. By hours.  Angry

So close to committing to BF's chip vs. KnC but it'd be good to hear if they're starting to arrive to forum members. Please share your experiences - avg. hash rate, unusual error rates, ideal temps, etc., etc. - below.

Thanks!
