7921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [Meme/Satire/Joke Coin] POWH3D developer debunks.. on: April 15, 2018, 11:28:53 AM
I guess I understand half of the things about proof of weak hands, I definitely get the connotation, but I still cannot figure out properly how this "game" will work. Is it just me? Maybe if they can simplify or dumb it down, because I feel that there is potential in such a game, yes even if it was a joke/meme currency, but look at what happened to Dogecoin, the joke that suddenly became serious.

I have >1 ETH for example. What do I do exactly if I want to "join" this fun?
7922  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-15] Coinsecure Announces Repayment Plan and Bounty for Stolen Bitcoins on: April 15, 2018, 08:56:54 AM
They surely do not have the expertise to track it on their own but there are some expert firms out there who helped police track down international Bitcoin criminals. It is a lot of money so I am sure some firm will even contact them to say they will help, for a fee of course. but that is better than nothing.

But I still believe their suspicion on the CSO is probably the accurate one. There are only two possibilities to me. Either the CSO did it, or he has crap security and should never have been their security head.
7923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: April 14, 2018, 09:33:40 PM
ByteBall team is making very aggressive promoting campaign using Bitcointalk Signature campaign: they pay 30-160$ (depends on BTT rank) for every week, but requirements are too high: 25 posts per week.

Well I wouldn't say that it's too much aggressive, it is usual campaign, and it is only signature campaign and they pay on their own currency so they are not spending any bitcoin or any fiat money but the reserved money.
And yeah the rate is good enough and the requirements are not too high, I have seen campaigns that require up to 30-40 posts per week which I would say in that case this is aggressive promoting, at the other side there are campaigns which require only 10 posts or less per week depending on the campaign.
They also are running the twitter campaigns which is very effective and yahoo makes his job just perfect!

Yeah, the lowest requirement I have ever joined is 20 posts per week and that was not even close to paying $30 per week. I do not think we should see it as good or bad, signature campaign is a tested way of promoting a project. I would have gladly joined if I did not already have a campaign, as GBYTE is one of the very few alts I followed from my earliest days (and I bought most of my byteballs.

That rate will be very good when gbyte reaches its ATH again, so trust me, that is one of the best methods to earn right now. I only hope the participants do not dump, and actually use the wallet. They will be so surprised to see how special it is!
7924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The best Airdrop on April on: April 14, 2018, 04:23:02 PM
Speaking of April airdrops, I am beginning to see a new trend of airdrops now from projects already completing ICOs. The finish ICOs and decide, since we did not sell everything, let us find a way to give it out and still get more. I have seen two already giving free tokens after ICOs, and one CoinMetro giving out a airdrop for a donation (which is not an airdrop by the way). Makes me wonder if people really understand the concept of airdrop and why they were done before. Now it seems to be just another marketing strategy.
7925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting question on: April 14, 2018, 01:12:21 PM
I think in the past, when I read the old threads here, there were probably a lot of people who came in here and even signed up for membership and started discussions before they actually downloaded any wallet or blockchain or bought crypto.

But actually today, I think it happens in the reverse. People buy crypto on sites or they get a wallet, and THEN when they are bored they come here to troll or shill. Or earn more crypto from campaigns and bounties.

Haha. User above. Probably right. Shilling for CoinParliament with very subtle means.
7926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do I need to sell all alts? on: April 14, 2018, 08:19:01 AM
It's tempting i understand you, you missed your previous ride in which bitcoin went 18k while previously you have trade all your btc to alts and see they fall over alt/btc satoshi value but i believe the hype is over in which alts would get their gains as focuses are on what alts could deliver rather just bitcoin, many see bitcoin's competitor would achieve the same status as BTC gradually, i would say selling 50% of your alts if bitcoin was picking up its bullish trend again, but it will be difficult to achieve another 100% again though.

Actually, I would find it strange that OP is asking this question NOW when the tide seems to finally be turning,,, for the first time in months, we are feeling optimism spread throughout the market. When was the last time Bitcoin moved so much AND held the volume AND price?

I can understand the temptation a few weeks ago, worried if things would get worse. But now, now is when you should hold even tighter. The bulls are in sight, not here yet, but coming. Just wait!
7927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Playinx The Biggest Gaming Community Token of All Time on: April 14, 2018, 07:49:20 AM
I would be careful about such claims you are making. Guaranteed profit in my understanding is guaranteed scam. Crypto gambling even has no such thing as guaranteed profit, I have lost money investing in bankroll too, surprise, surprise. No effort required usually means nothing useful to look for.

welcome mate, but i dont hing that you will be the biggest gaming community token of all the time, I mean there some erc token allready created in gaming industry and allready have some working platform, for example Firstblood, Play2Live, DigitalFantasy, and many more. And here is you, your website not even accessible for me, i cant open https://www.playinx.io/ your twitter also just created 2 hours ago.

Same here. Not working. And yes, more than 10 gaming tokens already, would take such a big uniqueness to create something that can compete. I like Firstblood most of all, but there is another coming that I am really interested in: Triforce.
7928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple XRP Could Hit $1.50 Today on: April 13, 2018, 07:52:43 PM

Nah...
The whole market is jumping up, but 1.50? Please... This would mean another 100% and Ripple is not even a real crypto-currency. It's OK only for speculations.

The only possible option for Ripple to reach 1.5 is Bitcoin to reach 15K.

It will struggle to reach $1 this month, much less $1.50 today. I have a bit of XRP, I do not mind saying so, but purely for speculation as I believe it only has to reach old ATH for me to sell for a quick profit. Today jumped like every other coin. Even the big Santander news did not seem to lift it out of the $1 zone, but we already knew banking with Ripple no longer means an appreciation for XRP.
7929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins vs. Bitcoin on: April 13, 2018, 06:50:09 PM
I thought Bitcoin would hit 9k the last time we saw it rise past 7k, so it is really hard to tell. A lot of people are feeling bullish again though and the buying volumes are really creeping up again, so I guess that is the situation we continue to find ourselves in now. Altcoin gains are huge in current conditions, but they tend to even out after a while with Bitcoin coming stronger as time passes. Alts have trouble holding on to their gains once Bitcoin becomes steady.
7930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: If anyone asked me trade is enough to cover life not on: April 13, 2018, 01:46:03 PM
That is not THE answer. That is ONE answer. What you must understand about crypto trading is that it is still very new. Yes. Very very new. It will still be new in 5 years. But the signs are showing that crypto cannot go on an upward trend forever, especially with the dilution of altcoins and token projects with no actual value.

Bear in mind this early success happened to most people who took the chance as early adopters. But it is down a lot to luck and to the fortunate event of being "first".
7931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why KYC is important? on: April 13, 2018, 05:35:59 AM
As usual, this is another way to weed out, and to be more precise, then reduce by a couple of orders the amount of bounty hunters participating in the project. For developers, it's just wonderful, and pay less, and you can immediately weed out people from countries where payment can be a problem.

This is the case of pros outweighing the cons, I guess. I am completely against privacy breaches like having to give out KYC, but at the same time, I also hate that people can just scam projects and rob rightful people of the opportunities,,, just like with bounty programs as you mentioned. What I am curious to know is, there must be a way blockchain can help get the benefits of KYC but without people having to give their data away. Like a blockchain to store data, only accessed by AI that can verify, or a system that lets humans verify data but only parts of it, so they never can steal or associate you with something else?
7932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for aspiring crypto youtube influencers! on: April 12, 2018, 06:58:40 PM
Will there be any requirements for subscribers? I see quite a few happy and energetic Youtubers but they do not have a very large subscription to their channels. The strange thing also is the boring tubers have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Any age limit as well? Surprising but so many teenagers on youtube now talking about crypto. Just enquiring so there is no disappointment for not meeting minimum view/subscriber limits.
7933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 12, 2018, 05:06:03 PM
Overall, Monero got lots of positive press and videos and everything now with changing mining algorithm.  More people that got in crypto in 2017 will now look at Monero. I bet all metrics of Monero went up ( google searches, reddit subs, ...) Such things are not seen on price immediately but gradually over time.

Yea. Confirmed. Big boost. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=monero

NICE, good call Febo and thx for the link I always forget about that. I find it interesting when broken down by region as well. China is way up there, I like that. Smiley

BTW this makes me smile. Cheesy

https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=bitcoin%20cash

There is a term they say in football which I always think to myself about crypto. Form is temporary, class is permanent. And if you look at those Google charts all the while, you still see Monero moving up even after the big announcements in 2016. Bitcoin Cash? They throw money around, pump up and hype up at events. Give it all over the place to corporate suits. And still they get a big "Meh" from people.

Thanks for the post Febo!
7934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: altcoin can be hacked ? on: April 12, 2018, 12:38:01 PM
What you need to understand about blockchain and cryptocurrency is this. For the moment, they cannot be hacked (at least, I refer to Bitcoin and all other blockchains who more or less take a cue from it).

The theory is that everything can be hacked with enough resources. And because no one has this resources, or will not want to spend it, for now crypto is unhackable.

The hacks you read about are all either exchanges, or smart contract flaws. Not blockchain hacks.
7935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins rallying on: April 12, 2018, 08:38:13 AM
It will be difficult to jump to conclusion but what I can say is that people tend to be giving up on Bitcoin for now, the price of BTC has kept the whole market down for weeks and since it seems there are some invisible hands keeping the price down, people will move to new assets and that would be Altcoins

This is just silly to think. Give up on Bitcoin and you give up on the whole crypto market. This is again yet another cycle. We see period from last year even where alts rose as Bitcoin fell, but eventually they all get in line behind Bitcoin and rise and fall together with it. Altcoins still struggle for true quality and true value. Bitcoin already has that and is still building on it.
7936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best privacy currency on: April 11, 2018, 09:19:59 PM

People like to fud and shit on Verge, but it's very fast, the wallets run exclusively over Tor, stealth addressing....and RingCT (xmr tech) is near completion. Awesome privacy coin.

Monero is obviously king but very slow. Komodo and Enigma are also cool but they are not pure currencies, and not on this list.

People shit on Verge because it is a literal scam. It suffered a 51% hack a few days ago - the dev literally didn't know how to fix it. In trying to fix it, they accidentally hardforked their chain without even realising it. The same incompetent dev asked for the community to give him $75 million in Verge on the promise of a partnership - once he had the money, he cancelled the announcement. Buying Verge now is the definition "dumb money".

I'm actually looking forward to their "announcement" on the 17th April. It is going to be their biggest shitshow to date, and this entire coin has just been one big shitshow. Popcorn on standby.

OP did say not to shit on other coins, but it is allright to point out flaws, and I definitely believe that Verge is one of those coins masquerading with technology but without good developers behind it. This is why my first choice always is Monero. And no, none of the forks. Monero is like Bitcoin, everybody thinks they are better but no one realizes how strong its development is. Or the community.
7937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Something big is coming. What it will be? on: April 11, 2018, 07:57:10 PM
If that is something big, then I do not know what big is any more. Satoshi emerging from retirement is what would make the cut for me, would you think not? I mean, every day some company is announcing something. This is just another footnote update that people will not even remember in a couple of days. Sorry to ruin the party guys, but that is a fact.
7938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is there place where i can check on total hashrate on a coin? on: April 11, 2018, 09:58:09 AM
This has been the only place that I have always used to look at hashrate for different networks. Old and good, unfortunately not always super accurate in my experience but it is the only option I know of- https://www.coinwarz.com/charts/network-hashrate-charts

Cannot blame them though even with many people tracking Bitcoin hashrate there is a difference between the numbers. Anyone know of a better source?
7939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Hiring for posting messages on: April 10, 2018, 04:37:40 PM
Hi we are in need of a team for posting comments in threads
The forum doesn't allow this type of forced posts on your specific threads.
Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

See, you can't pay people for replying to your thread.

For sure there will be people who are going to send you PM offering their ICO bump services but please don't tolerate them and stop finding this type of service.

It is against the rule of the forum.

There is a good reason that is against the rules as well, as it promotes spam. OP is better off seeking the advice of actual bounty managers on this forum. Engage them to hold your bounty program so they can also enforce rules and select quality members from the beginning. It will cost a bit more than doing it yourself but you should focus on your project anyway and leave the marketing and promotion to the experts.

Hint: My current signature campaign has one of the most respected managers taking care of it. Reputation by association is also great marketing Smiley
7940  Economy / Economics / Re: Why fee and other stuffs are deducted?? on: April 10, 2018, 12:46:47 PM
Cannot believe someone is asking why fees are charged! If you have ever used money before, or any services with digital payments, you must surely have paid fees. Banks charge you fees. ATMs charge you fees. So must exchanges and sites that process your withdrawals. Even miners want their fees. Services. You want to use them, you must pay for it, yes?

The only way to keep this zero or even low is using atomic swap on the zero fee cryptos, the way I see it Smiley
