8901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WAVES PLATFORM VS ETH PLATFORM on: September 21, 2017, 05:47:03 AM
I believe that the ethereum platform with the ERC20 tokens give more credibility to the project

Not necessarily. Do you know that the majority of ICO scams are actually using ERC20 tokens? Did you know that Ethereum is now more popular than Bitcoin as the crypto currency of choice for criminal activities (just behind Monero)?

Of course, this doesn't mean ETH is bad, just as Bitcoin wasn't bad even if terrorists use it, but if you're saying that simply using ERC20 gives the project credibility, I highly doubt it. WAVES has a verified token system that works by some verification of the creators and project. I trust that much more!
8902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins as long-term investment ? on: September 20, 2017, 05:48:03 AM
Right now 99% of my holdings are in BTC, the other 1% ETH.

I´m looking to diversify my portfolio a little, the thing is I´m not a trader, I would like to invest in other crypto with the same mentality I follow when I buy bitcoin, which is basically buy, hodl and forget about them. Are there any altcoins that match this criteria ? Or this mentality applies mostly to bitcoin ? I don´t intent to keep checking prices every day.

I was thinking maybe 70% BTC, and 30% equally divided between LTC, ETH,RIPPLE and others.

This is a good strategy, but in my opinion, Bitcoin should be at least 80%. Alts like LTC and ETH will rely on Bitcoin prices anyway so a further 15% should be in those established ones. I feel even 5% in "potentials" that cost say, less than $5 is enough, as you are banking on these rising much more over the long term. Holding these require more research and a bit of luck, but I might say you are in "safe hands" if you go for the ones with constant development. I too do not like checking every day and just hold.
8903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin FUD on: September 19, 2017, 07:44:18 AM
Do not be surprised it the next huge FUD comes from India. After China, India is the biggest country in the world. 1 billion plus people. Yes, for now not many Bitcoin users or even exchanges, but I am 100% certain that it is just a market waiting to explode. There may not be as much wealth spread out, but there are a lot of super rich even. Hey, even 1% of 1 billion is 10 million! If we see a demand for non-fiat, we will see the government and central bank there shift uneasily.
8904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Altcoins really have a future? on: September 18, 2017, 05:55:44 AM
Certainly yes, the altcoins have future if the dev  doesnot want it to make it scam coin. If you can witness the doge coin, its value was 6satoshi last year and now its value was around 70 sat a month before. So howcome its value increased? certainly its alive and has good volume in trading. Like doge there are also other coins which are active and ready to compete.

it must be a very long wait for its price to reach up to a dollar each. its a good news for someone who holds hundreds of millions of doge but for someone who only have A MILLION doge, its a bad news for those who holds billions are going to dump before the rest that will drag its price back to 6 sat.

altcoins has future but only to those who hold big amounts and only to coins with real use.

If you had a million DOGE at 10 satoshi last year (I recall even lower but let us just say for the sake of argument) and you sold it at 120 satoshi a few months ago (I remember higher but let us just say)... you would have made 1.2 BTC. And you can easily sell 1 million DOGE. If you had hundreds of millions, then you're in trouble:)
8905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ELECTRONEUM SPECULATION THREAD on: September 16, 2017, 07:17:45 PM
I don't see anything special about this coin? I think people will lose a lot of money.

The special thing about this coin is that it can be mined on mobile phones with an app. So people can easily get in touch with cryprocurrencies. I think it has great potential Smiley

In that case, then there's really nothing special about it. Almost any coin, theoretically, can be mined with any device that has a CPU. Mobile phones surely fall into that category. And if you take into account staking wallets, you could practically have several coins mining (through staking) at the same time, without using your phone's CPU and killing it.
8906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to the china based cryptos ? on: September 16, 2017, 09:12:10 AM
Nothing different from what was ever going to happen to them before this month. You should pay more attention to the news you read. Even the fake news and rumours say nothing about moves against China-based cryptos. ICOs are a different matter and arguably most are just tokens, not crypto. Exchanges are not crypto.
8907  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think the price will DROP MORE? on: September 15, 2017, 03:38:25 PM
I do wonder why people have to ask others about their opinions before making their own decision. So what if people agree and validate. Or disagree and cull your opinion. In the end the market direction proves you correct or wrong.

In my opinion it's very possible for bitcoin and other cryptocurrency's price to drop more. The rise in price recently is probably just a bull trap. I'll take my chances and wait a bit longer. Not to mention the weekend is coming too, whereas prices usually go lower.

15% rise does sound like a good trap. But anyone who bought at 3200 to 3100 can already lock in amazing 1 day profit from this. Even if they believed like you did in the "trick", technical dips shouldn't be ignored.

Has not every weekend for past 5 before September actually meant a rise in price?
8908  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-14] Bitcoin Price Drops Below $3,500, But Is Relief Rally In Sight? on: September 14, 2017, 07:25:33 PM
That is a good point, four weeks low. People have forgotten than this incredible high was always likely to be short-lived. Especially since the price never looked back from $3,000,,, when it really should have dipped for a while before moving on to $4,000. Relief rally? Would be very surprising. Maybe more of a consolation drive to recover 10-15% after the panic dies down.

8910  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you trade altcoin with BTC ? on: September 13, 2017, 11:00:36 AM
I am reading quite a number of threads now of people who are choosing to trade even with other alts to help reduce the general alt dependency on BTC price. It is quite funny for me to see that Litecoin for example has been moving from around $60 to $80 which is a huge percentage difference. But the BTC price is more or less equal, so even with that big change in value, you see little profit from BTC trading.

We need to make ETH and LTC more popular for trading alts. Healthy for the economy, I think.
8911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Syscoin: Masternodes coming soon(just announced), Moon shot imminent. on: September 12, 2017, 06:33:31 AM
Nice call. I guess now (as usual) I am too late to this party! Would you still recommend an entry price and exit point at this stage? I would like to set my strategies now to setting buy orders instead of getting at market price. I have bookmarked you now and hope to follow your new threads, so please keep this up!
8912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what alt coins worth the invest? on: September 11, 2017, 01:53:24 PM
The list that I can recommend to you is very long. So let us just say that you can choose from ETH, ETC, XRP, XMR, Waves, SNT, MCO, XVG, and several more. Just take the careful step to buy when the price comes cheap. Do not buy during bull run of these coins. You might end up waiting for it to bounce back after going down.

That is, by demonstration of all the posts in this forum, simpler said than done. How might anyone identify the bull runs, other than after it has already happened? If you wait, thinking you are at the peak, you risk missing out. If you jump in when it is already underway, you risk losing from all the dumpers. Easy to speculate and analyse, tough to call the shots.
8913  Economy / Services / Re: Nexchange.Io Paid Beta Testing, Paid Reviews, Bug Bounty, Penetration testing. on: September 11, 2017, 06:03:02 AM
This has to be one of the best sites to have arrived on the exchange seen in a long time. Most people are like me. We do not want to register. We do not want to give up our documents. We just want an exchange. And does that make us wrong? No, of course not. When did privacy become associated with criminality, right? Hope your exchange always stays true to your beginnings.
8914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New ICO Launch. How do I market? on: September 10, 2017, 04:05:30 PM
There are a few ICOs this year that have been massively successful. They all had something in common: weeks and months of building up the ICO event. They had paid PRs, they had signature campaigns. They had videos and interviews. They got a lot of people interested, and THEN launched. This is no guarantee still, but there is success to be found in imitating success.
8915  Economy / Services / Re: Nexchange.io Signature Campaign - Up To 0.05 BTC Per User Per Week! - Text Only! on: September 10, 2017, 03:58:45 PM
Dear Nexchange, I am applying here in advance of reaching the minimum rank required, because I will reach it in less than one week (I estimate this to happen on 16th September). I am happy to only have my posts counted from that time - although I will continue to wear the signature and a personal message (as well as the avatar once I rank up) from now.

I hope you will consider my application. I recently had my previous campaign completed and wish to wear one for the long term. Thank you in advance!

8916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ardor vs NXT on: September 10, 2017, 09:44:38 AM
Ardor will be the main chain and ignis (NXT 2.0) will be the first child chain of Ardor. If you have NXT you can participate still in the ignis ICO which will give you a discount on buying JLDRA token. 1 JLDRA = 1 Ignis. If you can't participate in the ICO than every NXT will convert into IGNIS in a ratio of 1 NXT = 0,5 Ignis. So to recap everything Ardor will be superior as it's part of the main chain and Ignis (NXT 2.0) will follow. I personally thing Ignis will be good for short term profit and ardor for long term profit.

Read and learn:
https://nxtplatform.org/ignis-ico/

Looks like quite a complicated item to look at,,, you have Ardor, and then a child chain NXT, and then with that you can get Ignis for JLDRA token? Why would you make so many layers? Anyway, look at crypto markets now. Such a huge gap from two weeks ago, not sure if further ICOs are going to be a wise move. I have to be patient and wait for this to pass.
8917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best ICO in September on: September 09, 2017, 06:54:09 PM
I'd keep a look out for CombiCoin, which is in ICO until the end of this month --> https://triaconta.com/

Their concept is reminiscent of Iconomi (money invested per Coin bought), but much more solid and attractive imo. DYOR and take a look at their whitepaper - it's solidly thought through and professional.

Best part of participating in this ICO, as opposed to getting their products on exchanges is, you get both combicoins (which can be freely traded in major exchanges) as well as one TRIA token for every coin.
The second a CombiCoin is created and later traded, specially designed software will buy the top 30 traded cryptocurrencies equal to the value of the CombiCoin (not the top 20, not top 40: top 30 turned out to be just right - and also in a specific ratio that was optimised in simulations (for example, 7% BTC, 2,4% ETH etc)).
These tokens make it exceptionally lucrative to invest in the ICO, rather than waiting for them to be listed on an exchange, since token holders get an amount of profit the combicoins generate each month, paid out in Eth.
This means that as long as cryptocurrency is traded with a profit (which it has been for years, without any foreseeable end to it), you get a steady income for every triatoken you hold. I expect those tokens to become very valuable because of this, aside from the CombiCoins which grow in proportion to the top of the cryptomarket as a whole. All in all I can see this becoming a big player in the long term.

Sounds interesting but complicated. I know I am not the biggest genius but also not the biggest idiot, do I get this right? You get a cryptocurrency PLUS a token for investing? And every time you trade a combicoin, you also get a share of the profits from trading top 30? Sorry if I got really lost. I love this idea but have difficulty seeing how it works. I don't want to go and ask inside channel and wait Smiley
8918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 80% of all alt coins in negative % change at the moment on: September 09, 2017, 04:55:48 PM
What you could be the reason alt coins dumping atm besides, China?

If China even has that big impact. Could it be connected with some of the published news yesterday that local exchanges will be taken down in China?

If so, I would expect increase in other exchanges but this is not the case.

Or is this a reflection of the various problems alt coins have in many verticals atm?

Or just because BTC <> USD value falling?

Dollar has been struggling for a long time now and the recovery should not happen this year, so not USD getting stronger. Just plain BTC fears, fueled by Chinese rumours and guess what? People just finally taking quick profits. And whether you like it or not, if Bitcoin goes down, alt are following the leader. Just give this until Monday to rise again. That is only 2 days away!
8919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you think OmiseGO? on: September 09, 2017, 04:42:30 PM
Be careful of all these types of deals because the price already takes into account them. If the deals go through, the prices do not move so much since it was already expected. But if the deals do not go through, then you are in trouble.

OMG is all right for the regional movement. I read about an American version of Omisego, called Metalpay. Same concepts, maybe more interesting?
8920  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What kind of worst decisions do you take when trading? on: September 08, 2017, 12:36:34 PM
I remember when i first register on a trading platform. I buy some coins because i see that's it's moving up quickly then after i bought it and leave it. When i came back i was shock because the price decrease and i panic then i suddenly sell all my coins because i'm thinking that day was i will lose all my balance. That was a bad move because after a couple of days the price went up again and i told myself that if i trade i will not panic again.

I had a similar idiot move. I saw a thread here about a coin. I was looking to move some Bitcoin out to diversify and it was very interesting, with all sorts of predictions for September. I did some research and spent a few hours to read all about it and the move seemed too good to miss out. I went and saw the same pattern you did. moving up quickly. I bought a big amount haha. And saw it was already in profit after even a few minutes. Then I came back the next day and wham. More than 50% of Bitcoins gone. BUT unlike you I did not sell Wink Now just holding forever.
