You got seriously goxxed. GOXXXED! It should have three X's, and be in all caps, to convey the triple X nature of how hard you got fucked.

I wouldn't really call Gox a 'fly by night operation', but as insurance companies tend to do, they always try wrangle out of big payments. I would. They just, in fact, literally flew by night, moving from their main offices (because they were getting protested) to an undisclosed location. Can't get more fly by night than literally flying by night. Moving office isn't exactly packing up and disappearing... at least not yet . Right. And disappearing without packing up... what's that called?

It's tongue in cheek, but I'm serious. Our creator is going to be called "Yoshi" and it's going to be Yoshi from Super Mario Brothers.

Was mtgox really that stupid to not have a cold wallet? And they didnt realize that their wallet was cleared? Thats somewhat unbelieveable to me.
MtGox have previously stated that they kept many separate "cold" wallets. However, they did not monitor transferring of coins from cold wallets to the "hot" wallet, until the cold wallets were all empty. I don't really understand how this could happen. Perhaps, the "cold" wallets weren't actually "cold". They were kept online but on a restricted network, and only activated when the hot wallet needed topping up, and this would happen automatically without anyone checking. Perhaps the cold wallets were kept off-line or on paper, but the admin staff who were handling them, just got used to topping-up the hot-wallet every day and no senior management ever checked whether the BTC balance was correct. Perhaps it was just a fuckin' heist.

Dont put all your eggs in one basket
Don't put all of your eggs in one basket, let the basket break, lose all your eggs, gather new eggs, put them in the same basket, lose all your eggs, gather new eggs, put them all in the same basket, gather new eggs, put them all in the same basket, lose all your eggs... AND THEN SAY... What happened to all my eggs?

Now that bitcoin is finished, can we expect another better cryptocurrency to take over in the future? Or is confidence in cryptocurrencies in general gone?

Lol. There is a pattern here, in the bitcoin world. I had no access to that money, Mark did.
NOT MY BABY BOY MARK! HE WOULDNT DO THAT TO ME! HE TOLD ME HE DIDNT STEAL ANYTHING! OR AT LEAST HASNT ADMITTED HE STOLE ANYTHING!

Since we don't need proof... I say you stole our money... Throw you in jail. You do realize how crazy that makes you sound, and how much that hurts any credibility of your statements.. right? So in your opinion, the facts here are that ONE PERSON said ONE OTHER PERSON stole money? Is that the only information you have seen or heard about the present situation? Or are we comparing apples to space shuttles here?

Where is the proof of theft? I don't see anything there listed as "Proof" or "Theft"... Just more FUD and half-assed CNN crap. (Repeating only what everyone already knows.) Nothing about the article involves Fear, Uncertainty, or Doubt. There is no doubt nor uncertainty that all of the funds that that person was in charge of, after many smaller scandals, are all gone now. The website is also down now. What exactly is it that you are waiting for, him to say "Yeah it was me! I stole all your shit!"? What constitutes proof for you? And honestly, if you are legitimately mild to moderately mentally retarded, I will understand, but if not, why are you still defending this clown?

One does simply not keep $350M in a single cold wallet.
"We have HUNDREDS of cold wallets! We just don't use any of them. We decided to automate re-spending of coins rather than implement a simple line of code that would force a human to look at the request."

Do not trust any company with a funny name, especially one that is called Magic: The Gathering Online

Yes, I'm sure any insurance company would be happy to insure hundreds of millions of dollars, with completely unaudited books, and no financial transparency, in an unregulated market.
Why wouldn't they?

Good luck with this. The GOX lovers on this forum are still in denial and will probably still vouch for Karpeles.
Also, your post will be removed or relegated to the "service" section as a means to prevent further interest in this topic.
You noticed that too? I posted a topic asking what the criteria was for having that not happen. You guessed it, no reply, and moved.

Please continue sending your money to Mt. Gox. Once all of the coins are gone we will no longer have to have these threads.
Not sure why people keep using it. I wouldn't touch it. There are btc on there going for like ~$200 right? There are no BTC going nowhere for no money, because they aren't allowing that. Nor a timeframe on when they will. I know you cant withdraw but you can still buy on gox, no? I was under the impression you could still buy on there. You could do what, buy bitcoin? And do what with it? Leave it sitting in there? You really want to take $200 of your money, and spend it at Mt. Gox? Choose the most likely scenario based on history: -You get BTC cheaper than EVERYONE ELSE -You somehow get GOXXXED and get nothing for your money I'll wager you a Sacajawea dollar it will be the latter.

I have been shrunken down, and placed inside a hollowed out bitcoin, along with all of my computer equipment.
I eat very, very tiny burgers and fries.
There is no one else besides myself working in Bitcoin - it's very cramped here.
