81  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin in place of Resp on: November 28, 2021, 03:22:57 PM
I'll go for a hardware wallet just what had mentioned above by mk4 especially the use of steel seed backup. Not particularly to give it to a child and let him to save it by his/er own, but to keep it with you or to any of your family members and place it to a vault since we're talking of saving it for 18 years.

I don't think airgapped computer is better alternative like a hardware wallet for having it for such long of time. As I'm not so sure of having another computer and set it as good as untouched as not using it for 18 years. And eventually hardware wallet wont work after so many years (18 years). That's why I'll go for the use of steel seed backup. Though those options are best for security (airgapped computer and hardware wallet). But having those unbreakable backup, corrosion resistant as good for any natural disaster is a relief, just make sure you have to save it to good hands or to your family's vault or whatever you call it for future use.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDT or BNB? on: November 28, 2021, 02:45:46 PM
I think bnb to usdt is better because the price of usdt does not increase or decrease again it is seen that bnb price is decreasing this is increasing this is ricks I think usdt is better
Neither of your answers are the one OP's trying to hear/read. It's not the price/value of bnb to usdt or vice versa matters. It's how the fees (cheaper or not) are which actually was answered already by above answers.

To op, Binance Smart Chain (BSC) related tokens are the ones are cheap almost zero fees (for USDT and binance coin obviously) compared to other platform particularly than the erc-20 or ETH tokens.
83  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is you Opinion About Gate.io on: November 28, 2021, 11:29:46 AM
I will recommend to read some reviews first (https://www.trustpilot.com/review/gate.io) regarding gate.io before doing stuffs there as they require KYC. I see lots of negative reviews, scam accusations related to withdrawals and etc..

If those coins are not available anywhere but on Gate.io only, you don't have a choice either regardless of their status.
^^ If and only ifs, then you should accept the risks of using their platform.
84  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinmarketCap Don't give a shi* to Bugs [CMC Full of Bugs/Glitches] on: November 28, 2021, 11:16:11 AM
The glitch is something common and can happen to every price-tracking websites, if after refresh it was fixed then it just a minor bug or just a browser issue (cache related problem probably).

Case # 2 is probably a server problem due to high number of users at that current time.

Being rude and sarcastic to CS is too lousy for something for free claim. Not unless it's a financial issue or locked account with funds on the platform.
85  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin scam or not? on: November 27, 2021, 06:41:45 PM
Yeah, I'd call them a scam, with such amount (~$50k) and without giving any resolution to their solve the problem with their user(s). The same with the other exchange, binance. Big exchanges do have lots of issue, and even locked accounts with even huge amounts. They might not be totally scam, but they are either.

For those who want to say or said "not your keys, not your crypto" or "why using cex to store such amount" when such incidents happens on cex, well, bitcoin/crypto increase due to trading activity (because of their activity actually), holding is just bland activity for others, and no cold wallets have such trading feature.

It's all about trust when using a service online, it's just that unfortunate it happens to them.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No Ban. Crypto will probably get Regulated in India. on: November 27, 2021, 06:17:22 PM
Overally, I don't see any nation will go to ban Bitcoin. They want regulation, yes. They want tax, yes. but they won't ban Bitcoin.
We have heard and witnessed a lot of them already.

As for the news, I would take is as a grain of salt, a lot of news related to this from this country yet it was still considered as good as banned there. There's even a news of bill going to announce of banning crypto there, seriously though I don't know what to believe either.

88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saw my 1st 'hybrid' Bitcoin ATM this morning. on: November 26, 2021, 11:47:53 PM
Nice idea, I guess it will be lessen the stolen of bitcoin ATMs, in some way. (another incident happened in barcelona just this month)

Regardless the fees I guess I will still be excited using it even just once if there's available nearby.
89  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Warning] luckyfish.io is CLOSING on: November 26, 2021, 08:53:33 AM
So it was a temporary break just like I suspected. That's the thing when you depend on a third party software provider. Look at freebitco.in, the owner coded this website from nothing and he knows every part of it. Someone told me this long time ago:

"When you own a business you need to be able to fix everything there is. You need to be able to do whatever needs to be done."

This is like owning a restaurant. When the cleaner guy quits, you need to be able to clean the toilets because your chef won't do that crap. When your main chef gets sick, you need to be able to cook. When you are short on serving staff, you need to be able to serve. That's how it is like to own a business.

I guess it's okay to hire someone to build what you have in mind, but having an idea of the business and build it with yourself is much better as it will save you much money.

For this issue, I guess the software they're using is somewhat a subscription model and got a problem with the team of the software they're using since it mentioned "to terminate their contract" (speculations), but that is common problem in subscription model software in the long run.
What they need is to hire a developer to build their own software which I guess that's what they're going to do now on that 2-3 months of hiatus.
90  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Warning] luckyfish.io is CLOSING on: November 26, 2021, 08:35:37 AM
I just checked their website http://luckyfish.io/ and I saw the statement that they are going to stop deposits after 30th November. It doesn't mean they necessarily closing the business permanently though. Maybe they are going through some kind of maintenance. Why are they closing? Do you have any further information about their issues? Maybe it is a legal problem which they don't want to disclose.
Here's the quoted text from their email announcement, mentioned above. And probably not a legal-related issue (not so sure though, it might be or not).

Quote
We are very sorry for the inconvenience of this, You may have realized that we haven't updated in a long time. For various reasons, we and our software provider are about to terminate the contract. We decided to launch our own software after 2-3 months, but before that, we have to close it for a while. We will stop the deposit and game after November 30th, and players can withdraw anytime.

Please note that nothing will change Your VIP level, Your affiliate, Your Balances Will stay the same.

We will keep you updated here.

If you have any questions, please contact customer service.

Thanks for the info. I was curious if they have an ANN thread here in the forum maybe they could give statement why they are closing?
Didn't see it upon searching google, only the scam/problem related threads only shows in google. As for your other questions, someone quoted the whole email he received from their announcement which I quoted as well.
91  Other / Meta / Re: 'Bitcoin Discussion' down in search results on: November 25, 2021, 01:08:30 PM
Google results depends on different aspects including country, search history, visited websites, and etc..

Searching such keyword on my side, that specific board shows in the second page in serp (unfortunately) while bitcointalk home page shows 10th in first page.
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The War Between Cryptocurrencies and Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) on: November 25, 2021, 10:43:41 AM
Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) will be at war with commercial banks, not cryptocurrencies, because commercial banks will not be needed due to their slowness.
This.

Before comparing crypto especially bitcoin to CBDC, people should know why us people use bitcoin/crypto in the first place.
Aside from being anonymous (actually pseudonymous) transaction, people more likely use bitcoin due to its store of value (investments) while CBDC is actually a fiat in a digital form, with fix value, still be affected on inflation, bitcoin is not.

Local banks will instinct when a country do make/mainstream their own CBDC especially in cross border transfer which is mentioned already, its slowliness.
93  Economy / Collectibles / Re: peeling a casascius coin for sale on: November 25, 2021, 02:49:18 AM
i am looking at the message right now, it says " you can keep the brass metal, I am more interested in the private key and the coins inside so you can sell the unfunded coin for extra cash"
Feel free to post the screenshot of the message here.

In anyway, funded coins can be sold peeled or unpeeled but prices may differ, of course.

I'm sure there will be interested on old bitcoin funded on physical coin, coz it can be redeemed on different bitcoin fork which have much value now. But I didn't heard someone sold it to someone yet. Coz redeeming by yourself is much reasonable than selling it to someone which will give them the benefits of the volatility price (higher value sooner/later) of the fork.

Regardless of someone want to buy the physical coin peeled or unpeeled or just the bitcoin/private key, escrow is a must not unless if you trust the buyer, but escrow is still recommended before doing the transaction.
94  Economy / Exchanges / Re: In Binance, can an unverified user withdraw part of their crypto... on: November 24, 2021, 02:38:47 PM
As far as I know, an unverified user can only withdraw are not able to trade too, so if you have no plans of verifying your account, withdrawing is your only option.
This is only applicable to binance existing users (registered before 2021-10-19), this is upon their new terms which was affected to those issue of regulations.

All binance new users or those who will want to register will be required to do kyc upon their registration.

96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India plans law that will prohibit ‘all private cryptocurrencies’ on: November 23, 2021, 05:46:29 PM
I guess most government entities is probably will not agree to regulate and not into private cryptocurrencies.

But if india, its lawmakers, considered bitcoin as private cryptocurrency then obviously, they are a victim of fake news, or they just want to know the difference of private and not, such ignorance and disappointment considering this country is one of the techie countries.

The 'Cryptocurrency and Regulation of Official Digital Currency' bill will create a facilitative framework for an official digital currency to be issued by the Reserve Bank of India, and ban all private cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
97  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Elon calls out CZ over Binance issue; CZ got piqued, went out of context on: November 23, 2021, 02:26:08 PM
He/they just don't accept the fact that it's their fault, blaming their users who just withdraw those doge a year ago.

His respond says it all on what kind of person he is in regards for the problem he's/they're facing to, and how irrelevant it is to the main issue/tweet. Well, it's the same person who wants to rollback bitcoin after their system's negligence.
98  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Does Binance.com allow buying fiat on p2p & have the fiat sent to someone else? on: November 23, 2021, 12:49:14 PM
Why make things complicated if you can just send the fiat from your bank account to your friend's account?

Other option is just use other p2p exchanges that doesn't need kyc such localcryptos (mentioned already above).

Now, if you call it an "extra unnecessary steps/transfers" then feel free to proceed, use your friend's bank account on binance and bear the consequences after, it's your account after all.

99  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinCasinoTop.com - Bitcoin gambling reviewer on: November 23, 2021, 01:48:33 AM
I doubt that the safety of the players is important to them at all. The only thing they care about are referrals. A simple google search reveals that their "about us" content is mostly plagiarized from other review websites, which doesn't surprise me. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the reviews are also plagiarized from other websites.

Lol, now their stink leaks.

Never tried this since I only fond of finding plagiarize content on investment related websites. As I didn't think such kind of website will be into this. Anyway, good find.
100  Other / Archival / Re: Elon musk donate people up to 50,000 ETH! on: November 22, 2021, 07:45:32 PM
Have you seen this crazy donation? I found it on youtube.

Here my conversation with the seller:
https://www.loom.com/share/910def23a791493a9d1b2def4da25a43

Should I sell all my gold today to participate it and double my eth? he 30 min time.
That's obviously an elon musk giveaway/donation SCAM! Better google it first if you don't know yet (obviously).

All I can say is stay away from that site, you can't earn or make profit x2 in just 30 minutes especially just by sending to a stranger in the net particularly on youtube where scammers lurk in in every crypto-related  videos.
