802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin difficult to understand on: April 09, 2021, 09:12:52 AM
It is not easy to understand Bitcoin, because there are so many technological terms that are difficult for ordinary people to understand.
Therefore, education is needed from the start, I support it if cryptocurrency starts to be made into a subject in schools. In order for more
people to really understand about Bitcoin, now most people only care about how to get money from Bitcoin. Without first understanding Bitcoin,
this is why it's so easy for people to say Bitcoin scams when that person loses money when investing in Bitcoin.
People don't need to understand the technical side of bitcoin, coz even most of the people on this forum doesn't know more in technicalities of bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

Understanding the basics such as why bitcoin was created, how sending/receiving bitcoin works, how important saving/have a backup of their seed, the differences of non-custodial/custodial wallet is enough for average person to start bitcoin/crypto. While learning more is much better ofc.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bitsten Exchange, anyone who use this exchange? on: April 08, 2021, 04:05:21 PM
Thanks for the replies. I didn't use the exchange yet since its new to me, suspicious and requiring kyc for depositing and withdrawal based on their fb post.

I will let this thread open for further replies especially to those users who actually use the exchange.
804  Other / Meta / Re: Two older topics are at the top on Service Announcements board on: April 07, 2021, 02:56:03 PM
Found something like reported here before, probably someone reported the post for bumping old thread and on the recent topics shows only in cache.

Or maybe someone use the "bump" button? Idk didn't use that feature before.

806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Bitsten Exchange, anyone who use this exchange? on: April 06, 2021, 05:13:01 AM
I just actually heard this website tho its a bit fortunate on my part since this is the only exchange listed the token I had since the ICO boom.

What's your experience? Anyone?
807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learn before Setting up trades on: April 04, 2021, 08:08:36 PM
It's okay though, if you just have basic knowledge in trading only if you're in a moderate trading, low risk, lower profit and lower loss.

But as for the idea/plan of your friend he really needs all from basic to technical knowledge if he really wants to share his knowledge to his/er future students. Give him insights, guidance or give him books/article to read since you sounds like you have more knowledgeable than him.
808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: donate with Bitcoin on: April 04, 2021, 07:59:53 PM
With this news, I believed this will bring positive impact to African people who've devotedly adopt bitcoin despite of the fact on banning. Let's wait and see how this plans could result in the future, because this amount of donation was too big and I hope this will help this country recover from poverty so their people generates sustainable income through it.

Although givedirectly is known for its charity work as sending the cash directly to the ones in need I'm sorry to say that the Bitcoin Jack Dorsey donated will be converted to USD as explained in their page.

[...]
It's normal, necessary and I guess that's the only way to support those beneficiaries especially on such places where bitcoin isn't adopted yet. Imagine they will open a crypto account/exchange first, taking kyc just to convert their bitcoin to fiat if the charity org give bitcoin directly to the beneficiaries.

As for now, that's the only way.
809  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the any direct faucet pay to my wallet Instantly on: April 04, 2021, 07:43:38 PM
Let me save you some time and tell you something.
There is no such thing as earning from a faucet!! You have to understand that faucet earnings are really small and you have to accumulate a certain amount before you can cash out which does mean that you would have to work days to earn just a small amount which would not even be significant after cutting down the fee of transaction.
If he really wants and enjoying collecting those small earnings and as long as the site is paying, then why not.

But if op has talent/skills to show then doing both is best way to earn bitcoin, after all most people here who doesn't have wealth started collecting in faucets. Also, doing business and accepting bitcoin as payment will help  to accumulate as well.
810  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Binance P2P - Experience A lesson to be Learned on: April 04, 2021, 07:20:18 PM
Always choose #1, request to cancel if ever nga limit yung payment method's account ni seller, the rest na sa binance p2p rules, notes na pwede mong mabasa.

Wag na mag risk, minsan si seller pa nag sasabi na ica'cancel niya kase limit siya so ganun, if mag insist si seller hayaan mo na mag expire yung time limit at auto-cancel naman yun. Had many tx yan pero never ako nag ka problema maliban nalang dun sa mga bugos na waste lang ng time. Mabuti na nag update si binance p2p about dun sa mga lower completion rates na mga seller or yung mga bugos kadalasan or parang troll lang.
811  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anybody here sell their Gold to buy Bitcoin? on: April 04, 2021, 06:53:28 PM
I don't have gold but having gold is also a way to safeguard your wealth when economic collapse the same as bitcoin. Exchanging your gold for bitcoin is not a bad idea, you will get more profit even if you sum up all your profits on those +14 years of having gold.

Imagine if you sold your 1 ounce gold on 2018 ($1200ish of 1 ounce of gold you will get 0.179 btc for $6700/btc that time) and exchange to bitcoin. 0.179 today is worth $10300.

Compare to gold from $1200ish somewhere on 2018 and today its just worth $1700ish. See the difference.
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Am I right to understand that this trading strategy is a very bad idea? on: April 04, 2021, 05:17:01 PM
[...]
I then explored the possibility of employing this strategy if I were to just convert ETH from
one coinbase supported currency to another, and the fees are still the same.

For example, if I were to convert 1 ETH that I own, at the time of me making this post,
to USDC, a coinbase supported crypto that has the same value of USD, I'd still be paying
30.33 USD in coinbase fees. I would 'lose' 30.33 USD just converting it, thus making the idea a bad idea.

That strategy is the common one, the one you're worrying is only for coinbase, there are lots of exchanges that offer lower trading fees, and while you mean converting it to $ you can use stable coins such usdt. Binance, kucoin and other exchanges offer lower trading fees like 0.001%.

While its good in holding, but make sure you wont be stocked when price drops while you could profit when you sell at ath and buy again when it drops.
813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can / cannot replace the banks ? on: April 04, 2021, 04:52:49 PM
That bitcoin can, or cannot replace banks is a thing of 50:50 chances.
I cannot see it will happen in 50:50 ratio or even 60:40.

Bitcoin replacing banks is impossible. All banks might adopt blockchain tech or create their very own altcoin but it won't be replaced by bitcoin. Bitcoin was created as an alternative not replacement to banks.
814  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next Bitcoin Halving in 2024 & Price prediction? on: April 04, 2021, 04:32:22 PM
I say it's too early for that, can't even speculate for the next year's price value. With such long, price will be ups and down but one thing it will be double or triple for the price today.
815  Other / Meta / Re: Security bounties on: April 04, 2021, 03:21:00 PM
Any one can invest here and can growing their trade because It has good security.
All investments posted here are actually held on other websites, what bitcointalk can only offer is safety and secured forum due to previous hacks/attacks that leaks user's privacy including emails, phone number, locations posted on pm when dealing someone.
816  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Token on: April 04, 2021, 02:26:38 PM
Don't normalize having tokens in every crypto platform, that doesn't make sense. Bitcointalk can sustain its operational/hosting expense through ad funds since then.
817  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Newbies] Avoid this type of BTC doubler on: April 03, 2021, 11:59:37 PM
There are lots of these on twitter, and this is well-known bogus of those scammers on CT, it's even reported on different news outlet, yet there are still got robbed, believing there bitcoin will just double when they will send it to a website promoted by elon or etc.
818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A fake app in apple app store stole his life savings in bitcoin on: April 03, 2021, 08:01:50 PM
This is very unfortunate, with those amount I should be somewhat knowledgeable already by what kind of app/security measures should I use/apply to my device(s) especially if I'm storing those wealth in my phone or even on a computer or hardware wallet.
819  Other / Meta / Re: Who is online graph on: April 03, 2021, 07:44:12 PM
Why in a trading panel/chart? lol.

But it would be better if you include the time of each candle stick though since it's only date.

Here's some live stat of bitcointalk made by blackhatcoiner including online activity, idk how accurate it is but feel free to check it. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5241019.0
820  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Online Sabong Bayad Crypto? on: April 03, 2021, 06:45:03 PM
