801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: July 12, 2023, 09:47:52 PM

Yes, I know what you mean, the only thing is that many like casinos, others like to smoke, others like alcohol and others like drugs, of all the drugs that I would never recommend doing or trying are because that is seeing how a human being is lost, I think that it is the most rotten thing that exists that a human being becomes nothing, I know that some drugs are used for medicine, others to cure, but to a degree under optional judgment made by a doctor, however, since there are many forms of "fun", I believe that all of them in excess are bad.

Whoever drinks alcohol will bring Problems to his life if he doesn't control it , because it can take him to a very ugly critical point Those who like to smoke know that they are killing themselves, I think it goes without saying much , but in a casino No , a casino can give fun and money at the same time, but if you don't relax and take things well, everything It can get out of control, that's why you Always have to be 18 years or older for these Games , because you are under the full Responsibility of the Person.

I have seen how in some families they quit because of alcohol , and I have seen how a person's smoking makes his family suffer a lot because he dies of lung cancer or something like that, so everything under an eighth scheme is what else should be done, when we are 18 years old , we know what we are doing , we know what we are going for , there is nothing to do but do things right to guarantee a good Old Age..

An excess of anything is bad. As the great Paracelsus once said, the dosage is what makes the poison. A person could die from drinking too much water or eating too much food. We are all responsible for our own discipline and knowing our own limitations. We cannot simply say "alcohol is at fault or gambling or some other bad habit is at fault" when the truth is that we ourselves are at fault.

And sure, drinking any amount of alcohol or smoking any amount of cigarettes can be considered to be bad for your health but we need to weigh the bad over the good. And if you know your limits and can indulge in a bad habit without losing control then I say go ahead and have fun. Nobody cares if they live to 100 or only 90 anyway.

I enjoyed reading your post because there is a lot of truth to it, but it falls short of relevant research findings. To say that an alcoholic is to blame for drinking alcohol or a smoker is to blame for smoking or, for the matter of this thread, a gambler is to blame for gabling is an incomplete shortcut for the truth. People with exposure to any of these negative things during their childhood are differently programmed in their brains than people growing up under normal and wholesome conditions. The issue is that it might take them too much time to understand that their disposition to exaggerate any of those bad habits does actually exist within them. They find out once they are already in a problematic situation. But that is when society judges them and they feel shame to look for help and consult doctors. As much as many think that they are the only ones to blame, i also think that it is time for society to acknowledge that some have a harder time than others to get back control over themselves and that stigma can be as bad as the addiction itself because stigma keeps the addiction alive as people decide against medical treatment.

to quote myself, Eubanks had good match, and provided some gains
but, I did not cash-out when possible after third set on a win, and should do that, but at that moment expected to see Eubanks winning this one, and he could do that in fourth set, fifth was just a formality

will be interesting to see Alcaraz against Medvedev, but I think that Medvedev is without chances to take even set there, should be straight sets for Alcaraz, will check odds and probably have it like that

Good performance from Alcaraz. Both waited for mistakes from the opponent and Alcaraz was more consistent overall in terms of performance than Rune

Eubanks as expected from me, did not disappoint me. The fact that he managed to play 5 sets in the quarter-finals shows that we have to expect more from him in the future. It seems he have lost concentration in set 5.
At Thursday the mens have a day off and at Friday the semi-finals will be played.

It was refreshing to see how the guy called Eubanks played against Medvedev. I have never heard of him before and it seems that he was about to give up professional tennis. The telegraph and some other news outlets have written that he was on his way to a different career path as a commentator. I love life stories like that. A player decides to end the career and then to his own surprise almost beats Medvedev in a Wimbledon quarter-final.

Alcaraz was strong and he is looking good and confident. I don't own a crystal ball but I think that both Djokovic and Alcaraz are too stable and focused to fail in the semi-finals.

As far as I know Bayern wouldn't mind if Mané decides to leave he club, but they want to try to sell him for a price similar to what they have bought him for. But after that season I doubt that any club is interested in paying that much. But Manè also won't be interested in sitting on the bench most of the time and he will try to change something about his current status, which is definitely not a safe position in the team. But what top club would want him now? And would he be willing to sign a contract with a weaker team? That is why I disagree here that he will not consider going to Saudi Arabia. If the incentive is there, Mané could be the next one to go there.

If that is the case then I think they will let Sadio Mane stay for the team to clear his performance for the next season I really think he will not cost convenient to the team as he is on the assessment of if he has a bright future, to begin with, I think Thomas Tuchel will give Sadio Mane a proper role and on the position that he likes and what he does best, and not to shove to him a position he would likely don't have any idea off for me a good showcase for Sadio Mane to properly execute a good play, for the team ,

Ok but if we assume that Tuchel will give a proper role to Sadio Mané, can you also tell what that proper role is? Manè is low in speed and he isn't an efficient scorer. Which player would be sitting on the bench for him? You can't take Kingsley Coman out of the game and bring Mané on. He also isn't a classic striker as they are now trying to get Harry Kane. Which position would Mané even play? I don't see a bright future for him in Bayern and if a good offer is made I think Bayern will try to get rid of him.

Hmm, by the way, I've never heard of a player being asked at all if he wants to move to a particular club, if that is indeed the case then it seems strange. I think Real Madrid have the best chance of signing Mbappe, this story has to end now or it will never end... Not only Real Madrid are waiting for this transfer, but also many fans of the football world, because this player has very big prospects in his future career and they will become even bigger at this club

In my opinion there is no now or never. It is about this year or next year and Mbappe is trying to avoid any disadvantages for himself as he is also staring at the bonus he would get next year when he stays until then, but that is what PSG wants to avoid because it would be expensive as hell for them. They would not get the transfer fee, they would also have to pay the salary for next season and they would owe Mbappe an additional €90 million for staying one more season. I guess the total difference here that PSG is looking at is something around €400 million. I think it is safe to say that this is not pocket money and could also be needed to rebuild the team for the future instead of spending almost half a billion on a player who would love nothing more but to leave the club.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 10, 2023, 08:15:57 PM
I don't see a bright future for Sadio Mane at Bayern Munich. I think Mane's days are numbered if Harry Kane joins the team. Goal-scoring machine that he is, Kane will likely steal the show from Mane. I doubt Mane would be happy sitting on the bench for an entire season. So, if I were him, I'd begin looking for potential new clients and plotting my escape. Really, though, who wouldn't want that?
For Sadio Mane, I don't think there is any other choice but to leave Bayern Munich and try to take part in another club's offer, at least Sadio Mane got it. Looking at how Bayern Munich has treated him and the trouble he has often caused suggests there have been no matches against each other since he came to Allianz. Harry Kane is clearly much more interesting and still deserves to play a role in building attacks, Kane level of sharpness is still above Mane.
Looking from the current condition, he actually did not flinch from it.
I don't see much speculation about Mane because even though he's not in Tuchel's long-term plans, he doesn't seem interested in leaving now and will insist on staying at Bayern.
Mane's performance was disrupted last season and it was difficult for him with several attempts to change positions but I think he still deserves to be there, it's just that Tuchel doesn't seem to want him in the squad because he is not included in the design of the scheme that Tuchel wants.
Tuchel will probably still use the 3-4-2-1 scheme and this is obviously a little difficult for Mane to be in but if it is forced, he can play behind the striker because to play as a fulcrum in front he is still not able to seem to see from last season.

Sadio Mane as we all know is a footballer that is very disciplined and wouldn't let huge financial bids from Saudi Arabian clubs make lure him away from European at this time of his career. He might consider going to Saudi Arabia in the few years from now but certainly not now.
Reports has it that he not in the future plans of Thomas Tuchel which has not been confirmed by the manager but if it is true, Mane would go to another top European club

Finally the match is being won by Djokovic 78-66 78-66 5-7 6-4. It is known that Djokovic will be the king of the match at the end. In between giving an opportunity is his style, and Hurkacz played really well.

One of the top seed have got eliminated from Wimbledon. What a match, particularly the final set where Eubanks won the break point and leads the third set. Tsitsipas got an opportunity and won the break point to level 3-3. Soon after that once again Eubanks got a break point and he did it well and kept the lead and won the set 6-4. Final point set by set : 3-6 77-64 3-6 6-4 6-4

It is funny that you say that Djokovic was giving his opponent an opportunity because sometimes I argue with friends about Djokovic and whether he does that on purpose. Whether he gives the opponent the feeling to have a chance against him and cause the opponent to get even more exhausted, and then Djokovic accelerates his own game suddenly and wins it easily. I have said so often... Cheesy But every time they argue that it is normal for all players to have one weak set per match on average or something like that, but I don't buy that. Djokovic is a genius on the court and then makes unforced errors for 20 minutes straight. The opponent wins a set, next set Djokovic destroys him. Whenever I see those games I am puzzled how that is possible.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 10, 2023, 07:13:47 PM
Inter Milan recaptured their glory days under the leadership of their charismatic coach and showed remarkable teamwork and resilience against Juventus for the next season. Their journey to the finals was nothing short of thrilling to fans worldwide but there was no stopping their performance after that. Romelu Lukaku will be able to play in the second leg against Juventus after being released from ban, although Inter Milan are good for next season. The president of the Italian Football Federation himself lifted the ban against him.
Inter's performance was quite bad during the early till middle of season but everything changed once lautaro has got its rythm with lukaku. The combination between those players have been successfully bringing intermilan to the final of UCL but it was failed in getting UCL trophy against manchester city. Even intermilan's president was not expecting it to happen with intermilan. The result from last season was quite good for intermilan. Inter was still able going to home with 1 trophy from copa italia.
Although Inter Milan's performances were not consistent at the start of the season, the team gradually stabilized. And we see excellent performance from the team. The team qualified for the Champions League final and finished third in the Serie A table. Martinez and Lukaku's performances were excellent. Inter Milan's attack was very strong. But their defence was weak. They conceded 42 goals in 38 Serie A matches. Inter Milan could not dominate Serie A because of the weak defence. And so if Inter Milan wants to win the Serie A title next season, the first thing they need to do is strengthen their defence.
It was a rocky path for them but they passed it with flying colors. They didn't start well and they also had some issues to preserve consistency as soon as they performed well and tried to carry the performance over to the next game. But as the end of the season got closer, the game became very consistent actually and they had a well-balanced strategy and also increased their performance in their attacking game. They knew that they could score any time as Martinez and the other striker became so reliable. I remember when I didn't like to watch them a lot because they were so passive and defensive, but that changed quite a lot over the last year and hopefully they'll continue with it.

At the end of the season, the Inter Milan team was quite stable as a team. Despite not winning the Champions League or the Serie A title, Inter Milan was the most consistent team in Serie A at the end of the season. And so they don't need much change within the team. Too many changes could make Inter Milan's performances erratic again. Inter Milan should keep the attack and midfield unchanged. and buying experienced defenders to bolster the defence. Only then, I believe that this team will be able to perform well from the beginning of the next season.

It is not always about revolutionary changes and substituting a dozen of players or rejuvenate the squad heavily, but the bigger problem is when very important players leave the club, players who who contributed the majority to the overall game and in the case of Inter we still need to see how many players intend to leave the club and who is going to stay. Many will say that it is never only one player who can be more important than the whole team and that is right, but we have seen players leave a club and at the same time leave a gap that the club couldn't close in the season afterwards. I am not aware of the number of players who are going to leave Inter and who really need to be replaced, but for now I think it is alright for them.

The Alcaraz game is also interesting at the moment as he lost a close tie break but is now back to his form and dominates the second set. Zverev is interesting as well although I think he will again fall apart at some stage before the final in this tournament.

Quite identical to the Djokovic game, Alcaraz is also being kept on his toes, and it's not getting any easier for Alcaraz as the game progresses. Alcaraz would imo just end still being too much to handle for Jarry and would win the game eventually.

I am hyped and I hope so much that both Alcaraz and Djokovic make it to the final. I think that would be one of the best tennis matches we would get to see in a long time. Age seems to not matter for Djokovic and he is strong-nerved as ever. He wins his tie-breaks even if it is close and sometimes I think it looks closer that the game actually is. He wins so many of the most important points and when he loses points often times those are not essential to his win or even pose a serious threat to him. Alcaraz would definitely fight hard and the worst that could happen is to see Medvedev in the final because it could end as one of the rather boring Wimbledon finals.

They really have no choice but to sell them. What you are saying is only part of the whole story. Haaland would have never been in Dortmund when they didn't grant him the clause that he can leave the club for €60 or €70 million. In Haaland's case there was nothing they could do and they tried to raise his salary but they had no chance to compete with Manchester City. Real Madrid failed. Bellingham again, Dortmund tried to raise the salary but there was no stopping him from leaving the club and when the offer is so high Dortmund is not in the position to say no to it. Lewandowski was never sold. The truth is that Dortmund stayed tough and didn't even let them go knowing that a year later his contract would expire. Dortmund didn't get a penny from Bayern for Lewandowski but they could have made a lot from a transfer just one year earlier. They can't be blamed for their club policy. Players who grow up in their club prefer to leave as soon as the top clubs mention their names publicly for the first time. The choice is then to either let the contract expire and get zero money from a transfer or to sell at an expensive price.
It is true that Bayern Munich has maintained its hegemony in the Bundesliga by persistently putting a premium on championships but it would be inaccurate to argue that Borussia Dortmund is only motivated by player transfer revenue. Dortmund has a reputation for finding and developing exceptional players but recently some of its top players have regretfully left for prestigious teams. However it is crucial to take into account the club financial limitations in comparison to financial behemoths like Bayern Munich. Due to the temptation of larger funds and renowned possibilities Dortmund frequently struggles to retain its great players. Despite the fact that the club has made large revenues from player sales this is not their main goal. Dortmund should be commended for their commitment to player development and their capacity to rebuild and compete despite losing key players.

I responded as well and actually think the same way as you do. It is not Dortmund's intention to find great players, develop them and then sell them for great profit and start all over again. They are just not able to keep their players as soon as they played an amazing season and other, financially stronger and bigger clubs suddenly have an eye on those players. It is game over as soon as the players are aware that the big names in the business are after them. Dortmund tried to raise the salary in the past, but that was not enough. I can feel the decisions these players make because if I was them, frankly it is difficult to say no when Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester City express their desire to sign you.

Now there is the name Erling Haaland which has been link with Real Madrid after the Kylian Mbappe issue has not received an answer.
I just want to say that these two players is important assets for each club and I'm sure Real Madrid will not get either Haaland or Mbappe this season.
Jude Bellingham has officially join Real Madrid, they will not be too obsess with the two names above Haaland and Mbappe
How can you be sure Real Madrid are not obsessed with signing Haaland or Mbappe after securing the services of Jude Bellingham. Real Madrid are focusing on finding a quality striker after Benzema's departure, these two players are considered to be the perfect replacement to occupy the position left by Benzema. The arrival of Jude Bellingham can add strength to Real Madrid in midfield, not on the front lines. Even though they have brought in Joselu but are not satisfied with the new recruits, they are still hunting for quality strikers in order to add strength in the area of attack.
Of course Real Madrid still really needs a replacement for Benzema and until now I think Real Madrid still really hopes that players like Mbappe and Haaland are in the Real Madrid squad. Because apart from Real Madrid having bought the player you mentioned, Real Madrid has also bought a new player, namely Arda gule. On my mind right now. Under Ancelotti he will be positioned at AMF, like Kaka at Milan and Ozil at Madrid.

He has good creativity, good vision, good technique, good passing and dribbling. So that later he can dismantle the opponent's defense, send feedback to strikers and wingers. And accompanied by two midfielders behind him, whether it's Camavinga, Touchameni, or Bellingham, who will play a lot in that position. From the current composition of Real Madrid's squad, Real Madrid should immediately look for a classy striker like Benzema.

But getting Haaland and Mbappe both at the same time must be a dream only. There has been so much talk about the finances of the Spanish top clubs and how they are in dire straits, how the hell would they be able to pay for both of them? Both have a contract and would cost around half a billion in transfer fees alone and there is no signing fee for the players or the salary included. That is impossible, but it is likely that they will not stop trying to get Mbappe to move to Spain in the next 5-6 weeks.

Dortmund doesn't really get lucky when they buy good and talented young players and sell them for a lot more than they bought them. It is a system as you noted and that is something Dortmund mastered over the years and is now the club I guess with the best transfer history maybe? I
Bayern Munich remained the giant of bundesliga because they focus on the title more than any other club. Borrusia Dortmund are known for the potential important players they have in the club; the shocking part is that the club continues to sell these valuable players to elite clubs; there are significant players that have been sold out by these clubs, players like Robert Lewandowski, Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland, and now Jude Bellingham has joined the race. The club isn't concerned with winning the Bundesliga; all they want is to continue making huge profits from the transfer market, and with their predicted budgets, they're doing just well.

Djokovic must have thought that this night is going to be a very relaxed night for him after taking a quick 2-0 lead in sets with little to no resistance from Wawrinka, but then Wawrinka was the old Wawrinka again and gave Djokovic a hard time to take home the 3rd set as well. For a second I was hoping that this could turn into a closer game much more than anyone could anticipate. I even put €0.60 on Wawrinka when he had the lead in the tie break now Cheesy The odds were roughly 50 so why not... But it had to end as it had to end. Deserved win by Djokovic.
Djokovic in the tie break was quite superior, he had the highest percentage of 65.5% among the other players. Apart from Wawrinka who is quite old he is also not that great on grass so there are not many opportunities for him to beat Djokovic on the surface who is also one of Djokovic's favorites
https://www.atptour.com/en/stats/win-loss-index/career/tiebreak/all/

Zverev vs Berrettini, both players have the same weapon, namely serve and after taking a break in several tournaments due to injury Berrettini will again try to repeat his best performance two years ago by becoming a finalist, this match is very likely to be a match that lasts 5 sets.

I know that Djokovic was too strong for Wawrinka, but I came across the game on the betting platform and saw the odds when Wawrinka was leading in the tie break and I thought maybe this is one of these rare games that go down in history because there was this insane win by Wawrinka when he was two sets down! Cheesy That's why the odds were around 50 and I only gave it my €0.60 Wink

The Alcaraz game is also interesting at the moment as he lost a close tie break but is now back to his form and dominates the second set. Zverev is interesting as well although I think he will again fall apart at some stage before the final in this tournament.

815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: July 08, 2023, 02:35:42 PM
At early stage, one may feel remorse most especially when you lose the games, but what gives the highest motivation is when you gamble and you win at that point, your confidence level will be increased compared to when you lose, and also when you are in an area where most citizens are not a gambling or religion restrictions on gambling activities.
Regular gamblers don't regret losing gambling. Regular gamblers have become a bad habit and don't feel bad about losing. And those who lose when they are new to gambling have a lot of regret and some people.  There are those who vow never to lose money by gambling again. Similarly, there are those who lose gambling and start gambling again to recover the lost money.

Additional advice would be better if you know when to stop gambling and determine the funds to be used for gambling.
Everything will look very easy to gamble without regrets when you can always commit to the planning that has been formed before deciding to bet.

People who gamble regularly most of the time can't gamble because they are completely addicted to gambling. Gambling is a bad addiction I think but I don't like gambling very much. Gambling is a bane of my life. I have lost a lot of money by gambling.  For which I try to stay away from gambling. I now regret the money I lost by gambling.

Everything you said might be right except for the part that regular gamblers don't feel remorse. It is a dopamine thing and dopamine is usually considered to be the pleasure hormone, which already implies that losing should not foster dopamine production and release in a normal person and even in a person that is fighting an addiction. It also is dependent on what remorse exactly means. A slight sadness when somebody lost money is normal and should also be the state of mind because nobody should be after losing. But addicts also often undervalue the consequence of losses and overvalue the consequence of winnings, which is also triggered by chemicals in their brain. When they lose five times in a row they are still looking forward to this one win after losing so many teams even if it doesn't fully make up for what was lost.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 08, 2023, 02:16:47 PM
I know this is a joke. Elon can't fight Mark anyway. Because Mark has a really fit body and does sports regularly. On the other hand, Musk does not have a good body. Also, I've seen him smoke pot before on a radio show. Elon is more witty and smarter. But he doesn't stand a chance against Mark. I think he knows that too. That's why he's only bringing this up as a joke. I don't think they will ever fight. But this issue will probably continue to be on the agenda for a while in the world of magazines.
I have a different opinion that Elon Musk has a better chance of this actually happening.
From his body shape, I'm sure Elon musk has greater strength than Mark, even though Elon musk has never smoked, but for this match, not only health but physical strength is also very influential.
Another thing that I can predict if this match actually happens I think Mark will not be able to beat Elon musk with a smaller body.
No you are not that different because I see there's also a few users who have voted for Elon Musk and you all have the same impression. The first thing that you guys have noticed is the physical appearance of the contenders. It's already in our psychology that a big person do already has a bigger strength although sometimes this isn't true and there's also small guys out there who have more strength because they work out or have been involved in a strenuous activity.

Another factor we are looking to is the age. it is when the person is young we think they are more stronger but again this is sometimes wrong. The older age person usually have more experience so they are superior than the younger person.

Ok but what you are describing is going down to the actual state of the body no matter what the age is. If someone works out five times a week and takes lessons in martial arts two times a week, that person is probably kicking the ass of everyone who is a couch potato even when there are twenty years of age between the two people. If you only look at the weight and height I think that Musk has an advantage and we don't know for certain whether he is working out or not and whether he has taken any martial arts lessons recently. These special cases don't fit into the normal comparison category of course. But all things equal in terms of training and fitness, height and weight are both an important factor.

I still remember Real Madrid really wasting some of its young talent a few seasons ago. Martin Ødegaard is one of the players I'm talking about, he has grown into a really great midfielder at Arsenal while Real Madrid failed to develop his great skills. The same thing is still very likely to happen to Arda Güler, he is still very young and may not find himself in the Real Madrid first team any time soon.

Several young players were brought in for business reasons, it was a profitable business strategy in several big teams like Real Madrid and several others. So please don't get your hopes up too much before Arda Güler has won a place in the first team.
Indeed. There are some young talents who failed to grow/develop in Real Madrid. Martin Ødegaard is one of the examples, he failed to show his ability in Real Madrid. I think the problem is he didn't get enough time to play because there are too many good players in the same position at that time. When Martin Ødegaard joined Real Madrid, there are other players who played at best form with the same position as Ødegaard (AMF). So, Martin Ødegaard was unlucky and he decided to move to Arsenal. Well, I hope this won't happen to Arda Güler, he needs time to play to show his best form. If he can play regularly in the main squad, he is better to play with Real Madrid castilla.

TBH, I will expect much on Arda Güler. He looks a talented player and can be the next Ozil in Real Madrid.

But the expectations for Ødegaard were unfairly high. He went to Real Madrid at the age of 16 and I am not sure if it was him but I think I recall that the media drew all sorts of comparisons between him and players like Messi. I can imagine that this is tough to deal with when you are that young and then the whole Bernabeu expects you to to give a world class show. That wasn't realistic and I thought that he won't fully recover from his "failure" as some call it, but he progressed as a player and he even became more of a leader with every game he played. It is a positive development after diving into his Real Madrid adventure where he was overwhelmed with expectations.

Well, you are right that sometimes it works that when you are watching the game live, you can analyze the players and the teams and understand which team is performing better and has got more chances of winning the game, but, it sometimes backfires, and the team that seems to be in lead during the initial phase of the match, tends to fumble later on and the team which might be weaker manages to win against the side which is the favorite.
Even with checking the match statistics, you can know where the march might end to. Most people that are gambling on live matches depend more on checking the statistics as the match continues because they can not be watching all the matches at once and there are many live matches that you will not be able to watch. But there are some online betting sites that you can also watch the match directly but it will consume data. Watching the match can be good though, but checking the statistics as the match' goes on has been what I use most of the time.

It is true that a match can change. This has happened to me before. Not once or two times but plenty times. You can even see the match change around 80 to 90 minutes. Some matches may even not change but the opponent may just have a tiny opportunity which they do not misuse and just score. The score can even happened at the 3, 4, 5 to 10 minutes extra time give after 90 minutes to conclude the match as 90 minutes.
Stats save time, attention, and data. A worthy approach. How accurate and reliable are these statistics? Isn't "sampling bias" a risk here? Academia recognises that data may not accurately depict the situation. Do match statistics account for unanticipated events like weather changes, injuries, and disputed referee decisions? These elements can greatly impact matches

You mentioned last-minute, heart-stopping incidents. Last-minute goals or extra-time miracles? Don't they disregard all statistics? Statistics are useful, but unpredictable variables limit their applicability

You know how statistics work Smiley

But interestingly I think some of the variables like you mentioned (weather changes, injuries etc.) will be considered with new AI based models in the future. We are not there now (I think), but AI could scrape the data from the Internet and then adjust odds before the game starts based on any new information gathered and the calculated impact it may have on the game.

But placing bets during the game can also be fun. I guess most here know what kind of situations in a game can be an indicator for a turn around of one team or other important events. That's why I usually try to have some funds on the platform to make a quick adjustment bet if it seems to be appropriate to me. But there will remain a factor of coincidence that not even improved AI models will ever be able to predict.

It is hard to make a comparison between Arteta and ten Hag to decide who did a better work in the previous season. I think I will go with Arteta instead by a slight margin. I totally agree that there was a golden opportunity to benefit from. But Arsenal's performance on the final weeks just killed their hopes of becoming the champions. But I still don't want to blame them or Arteta too much for that. Because it is always a difficult task to do while you don't have even a few experienced players in your starting lineup.

A young team have always a potential to mess things up after everything looks great for some time. But this season is still a big progress for Arsenal as they finished as the 2nd in the standings and joined the Champions League finally too.

You could see it two ways I think. On the one hand Arteta did a great job simply because nobody expected Arsenal to be leading the table for so long and they played with a system and repeatedly delivered their best performances on the pitch. When everyone thought that this will end rather sooner than later, Arsenal kept going and I think Arteta did a great job there although it wasn't enough to beat Manchester City.

Ten Haag on the other hand had a difficult start into the season with lots of drama and then the danger that came with Ronaldo being turned into a substitute rather than a regular player. I thought that this could be a dangerous turning point for ten Haag when the team keeps losing several games in a row, but he overcame the trouble with solid decisions and also with consistency in his mindset and in his actions. Both deserved a good finish and also a good assessment for their performances as the managers.
