801  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: We're all the same! on: August 17, 2023, 11:21:08 AM
2️⃣"This time will be different than yesterday" (guided by the desire of what you want, not what is happening in the market).
This is the reality of man. We are always optimistic and basing our success on luck rather than face reality. I have seen this countless times, more often in gambling. You will hear statements like this;
  • Today is a bad day, tomorrow will be better
  • Mr. Bob won with this strategy, why won't I?
  • You don't have to give up, tomorrow will be better
Most times, this optimism blind us to the reality of life and in the end, the story is not always nice.
802  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies say no to Trading. on: August 17, 2023, 10:56:28 AM

Trading is done by professional and people who understands the fundamental analysis and technical analysis, you still also need to know the risk management in trading. All these put together can't be learnt in two months that is why a newbie should shy away from trading and don't think that trading is very easy and rush into it,or else you will end up losing your bitcoin to a professional trader because even the professional traders also run at loss. Don't see bitcoin trading as job that you can use to earn a living because you will get disappointed after a great loss,or something that you can use to earn high profit within a short period of time because that is not how it works.

The best advice should not be that newbies should totally stay off trading. It would have been better if you said that newbies should not trade but rather they should learn how to trade and maybe they should continue to learn until they are able to trade by themselves. Saying that only professional traders should trade because they know how to make profit is not a lie, but where I do not like your position is that professional traders did not become professionals overnight. I mean they were once newbies, assuming they stayed away from trading they wouldn't have been professionals anyways.
So newbies should to learn until they are sure they can trade and control their emotion.
803  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there a possibility to Fix Neutral Trust? on: August 17, 2023, 09:09:14 AM
@OP you were pointed out in the last month we shouldn't use AI because someone who use AI is lazy, illiterate and no improvement, but why you did it? Cheesy

Since you're lying, now I think you're still lying too by promising for not using AI again if those two users remove their neutral feedback.

Thanks really appreciate. Yeah I do agree with you that We should not use Artificial Intelligence tools because, not only Lazy (don't want put any hard work) but also AI Tools make us lack of knowledge and self-development.
That is the irony of the matter. The victim of a crime knows that they are commiting a crime and they also preach against crime and yet commit crime. But for Op to have created this post means not that they have repented but looking for a way to eradicate the neutral tags.

Op, maybe you have to message the people that left you the neutral tag, they might not remove it immediately but they could watch you for sometime if you have actually changed for good.
804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 17, 2023, 08:38:00 AM
City won the Super Cup, but I wouldn't say that the Citizens dominated this game. In addition, Haaland showed again an unimpressive game in an important match. He was also not seen in the Champions League semi-final and final. So this begs the question. Can Haaland be useful to the team in important matches?
I disagree with all you have said here. Why won't you say that City dominated the match. I didn't watch the match but the record is online;
  • Ball Possession  71% : 29%
  • Goal Attempts 23 : 8
  • Total Passes 670 : 234
What other evidences do we need to confirm that Manchester City dominated the game?
As of Haaland, just few days ago, he scored brace in the opening of EPL match and today he is being casted.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 16, 2023, 10:16:38 PM

No Saudi Arabian Club has shown interest in him. Age has got nothing to do with him moving, even at 34, Sergio Ramos did high level defending for Real Madrid and also Paris Saint Germany. Harry Maguire has no evidence, he's not just good enough for Manchester United. He'll end up putting his place in the English squad in jeopardy.
I think Maguire's place in England is very much secured. It doesn’t really matter if he plays in his club or not. I said so because Maguire's performance last season with Manchester United was awful, yet he had his place in the England and still performed well.
Maguire's salary with Manchester United is high and even if he leaves, Manchester United will still need to compensate him. I think that is why he appears so unbothered. Besides, there are no much good defenders in United. He will still have a playing time.
806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 16, 2023, 09:30:33 PM
This weekend Manchester City will fight against tough team Newcastle and it is very interesting to see the results of this match because we all know both teams had positive results at their first match in Premier League and i know based on meetings statistic Manchester City is more good than Newcastle but i think currently Newcastle is different that they looks very solid and since last season Newcastle has been change became an strong team and they can able reach to top 4 and last week they had just humiliated Aston Villa with huge scores 5-1 so obviously Newcastle is in the good shape especially since last month Newcastle status is still unbeatable so i think Newcastle have a potention to make Manchester City to slipped
This will certainly be the match of the weekend when Manchester City go head to head against a Newcastle side who demolished Emery’s men last weekend in a 5-1 showdown. This is a really tough one for Guardiola in the weekend that will require every player to be at their best to at-least get a point out of this fixture. I will be rooting for Newcastle United to finish victorious against the league’s defending champions.
This weekend's match between Manchester City and Newcastle United is going to be a very crucial test for Newcastle United. It will be a test to determine if Newcastle United is fit to contest for the English Premier League title. And again, it is also going to be a test to know how far Newcastle United will go in the champions league. This is because Manchester City is both the champions of England and the champions of Europe. So if Newcastle beats Manchester City, it means that they have a very big chance to succeed this season.
807  Economy / Economics / Re: It ain't meant to be easy on: August 16, 2023, 08:29:27 PM
There are no shortcuts in life. If you want to be in a better position, then work for it until you succeed. Success may not happen overnight, but once you are working on it, things will definitely fall on its right place. That’s why in every endeavor that fails, in every business that ends up being bankrupt, in every goal that has not reached, learn not to quit. Though we don’t hold the future, but if you keep setting the things right, if you stick with its basic rules, if you keep being patient all the time, then everything will be smooth sailing along the way. Just learn not to give up, and keep motivating yourself, in the end success will eventually come your way.
Sometimes it is advisable not to follow the rule of life so strictly. We have to be flexible and adaptive in whatever that is happening in our environment. If we decide to read the rule of life verbatim and follow it we could at a point see ourselves suffering unnecessarily, for instance, you have encouraged everyone to work hard as the only way to be successful, but then some people are not working hard, but they are smart enough to be successful.

Another advice you aid is that we should not quit no matter how tough it is, but most times it is advisable to quit and start again because if you are on the wrong lane and don't quit the end may be bad. The life does not necessarily have a hard rule to follow.
808  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: August 16, 2023, 07:57:54 PM
So, crypto is very volatile and rewarding but another problem here is that you are dependent on exchanges, what will you do if they don't let you withdraw? Another problem is that you have to take care of your coins because once they are gone, they are gone forever.
I joined the conversation late but I need to be clarified by the OP. You mentioned that the problem with the crypto investment is that the owners fortune is dependent on exchanges and they may not allow you to withdraw.  I want to understand how this will happen if you decide to buy bitcoin with 500k USD and wait for the bull run.
If you want to invest 500k in cryptocurrency, so you will depend on exchanges. What happens if you get a hardware wallet and save it there?

But for the question in OP, I will rather diversify in the three options provided.
809  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World Bank halts new loans over anti-LGBTQ law. Right decision or hypocrisy? on: August 15, 2023, 04:41:23 PM
This is bad because they just want to preserve their traditions and want to have their own opinion regarding this movement and they should be respected for that since they are not imposing rules like Brunei. It seems like they are now making some bad moves considering this country needed them for help rebuilding their economy. I wonder how Uganda deals with this problem and maybe they will forced to consider postponing their laws regarding this so that they can save their economy if ever they need the World Bank's help.
The OP asked a very important question that demands a befitting answer. The question is "why do the 3rd world countries always want loans?". They have government, their citizens pay tax and they generate revenue internally, yet they continue borrowing from IMF and WB.
If I have the money and you want to borrow it to enforce something I do not support, I will obviously not give you the money. If you feel you have a culture you want to sustain and you have a law that soothes your culture, generate the money to enforce your law and culture. Corruption will not allow them, most of the monies they borrow is for looting and personal gain and not for the country.
810  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics everyone's business? on: August 15, 2023, 04:12:39 PM
It is not about being interested to participate in politics or not. What actually happens is that the game of politics is so bad in some countries such that no sensible and upright man would want to involve in such a dirty game as they fondly call it. If the politics and the political system of a country is very sane, you will see good people will join politics and in the end of the day you will have a very good government.

But then if the bad and the corrupt are in charge of the political system and have corrupted the whole system. That is why you see some people saying they don't want to involve in politics.

I'm new here, I need to know BTC

This is completely wrong thinking, because you are obviously under the influence of someone who filled your head with ideas about how Bitcoin is some kind of magical internet money and that there is a forum where you get that same Bitcoin just for writing some posts. Considering that it took you a week to find this board (if we assume that you actively used the forum), then you should first learn how to use the forum, and then you can learn all the basics of Bitcoin in a very short time.

If you are interested in anything (including Bitcoin), there is a very useful feature called search engine, just type what you are interested in and hit enter Wink
I was also wondering how it took someone a week to discover Beginners and help board. Even if you clicked a random link in the internet and it directed you to the technical board or the gambling board. After surfing for the day, you should atleast click the Home of the website. Once you are on the home page, it doesn't waste time to see all the boards and child boards in the forum.
However, I welcome Op to the forum and also advice him to learn the bitcoin he wishes to learn. It will surely help him intellectually and financially.
814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes Bitcoins valuable? on: August 12, 2023, 09:34:09 AM
. Bitcoin is anonymous
Nobody wants anyone looking into their finances. Your finances are your business. Bitcoin is anonymous, meaning although Coinbase might know who you are, they don’t know why you made the transaction.
That is not necessarily true: every single bitcoin transaction is readable on the blockchain so even if you don't know who is making that transaction you can follow the bitcoins path anyway. And it's possible to track down bitcoins even after they have been mixed using some mixing service. If you want to be 100% anonymous then bitcoin is not the best choice. At the end almost everything that goes through internet leaves a trace.
Ale88, your statement is far from the truth. The advantage of bitcoin is being your own bank, but it doesn't necessarily provide anonymity as you claimed. If you really want to be anonymous in the bitcoin network, you must first learn how to hide your ip. This can be achieved by not running your node on the clean net. Tor can do a good job to hide your ip. For transaction purposes, you try not to re use your addresses.
The coinbase example is off the discussion because coinbase is a CEX. To be able to trade their you must have already completed KYC with them.
815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as good store for value on: August 12, 2023, 09:13:18 AM
Bitcoin can be as a store of value for all assets,  making every properties to remain valuable. 1

if one should consider to convert this property into another form it will take more expenses for it to get done.  2

Bitcoin is a store of value,  it can converted from one currency to another without losing any value. 3

The potential to make good gain out of an asset without losing its initial value proves the worth of the asset and this is exactly what bitcoin is as a good store of value . 4

With all indications, especially the paragraphs that I highlighted, it seems that you are missing the context of bitcoin being a store of value.
1. I do not know how bitcoin makes every other properties to remain valuable.
3. When an asset has the ability to be converted from one form asset to another without losing value, that does not make the asset a good store of value.
4. You also alleged that bitcoin has the potential of giving profits to the owner without losing it's initial value.

That is a bogus statement. If bitcoin price rises, it gives profit and when it reduces it gives losses. You can only be safe if you don't sell at loss and if bitcoin reverses from down trend to uptrend.
The best store of value is gold and not bitcoin. The volatility of bitcoin made it not to be a good store of value.
816  Economy / Speculation / Re: Volatility and its effect on: August 12, 2023, 08:32:55 AM

Averagely, Bitcoin volatility ranges between 1.68%_4.54%, where Wednesday is the most volatile day compare to other days and Saturday which is the least volatile days.

How was this data gotten, is it proven or verified or it is the opinion of one trader/written. I can agree that bitcoin volatility averages in the range of 1.68% - 4.54%. It is understandable and believable. But Wednesday and Saturday being the most and least volatile days respectively, I have no idea of that claim.

The volatility of bitcoin is an advantage and also disadvantage to the industry and as well as bit holders. I can say it is only an advantage without disadvantage to day traders because coins must be making significant moves for day traders to profit.
817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I buy now or I should still wait for the dip? on: August 10, 2023, 03:22:22 PM
I think the best thing is to buy immediately, as we know that the potential for an increase in bitcoin to rise at the end of this year is very easy to happen, the halving day that will occur at the beginning of the year will cause a significant price spike so by buying now we can immediately get big profits.
I also have this feeling that you should buy right now as much as you can. But since I am not the only one who has such thoughts, it is worth thinking about it, because usually the market acts contrary to expectations. That's why it is probably a better strategy to buy partly, so that you don't regret later that you could have bought more.
The market is showing a sign that it will retract to the region below 25k before it will bull. This may happen and it may also not happen, but the likelihood that it will happen is high than the tendency that it will not happen. But then, considering the price of bitcoin being below 29k and the ATH of bitcoin is about 69k. This shows that a buy now will be profitable in the long term investment.
Another way to overcome your fear is to go with the DCA method. By this you may survive even if the market dips unexpectedly.
818  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people think Satoshi Nakamoto saw the future of bitcoin ???? on: August 10, 2023, 02:53:47 PM

1.  Why is Satoshi Nakamoto hiding???
Maybe Satoshi is not hiding. He didn't commit crime so he is not hiding from anyone. Rather he is anonymous, which means he could be your neighbour but you wouldn't know.

2 . Can Satoshi Nakamoto ever shut down Bitcoin?Huh
Even if he has the power to fo so, it won't be wise shutting down what he created. He will rather be happy that bitcoin is making waves. But to shut bitcoin means that majority of the bitcoin developers will agree. It is not possible because everyone cannot agree, even if majority agrees, the disagreeing minority will perform a hardfork.

Take a look at this
"Investigations: Satoshi Nakamoto, Mysterious Inventor of Bitcoin, Is Probably an Australian Computer Genius Named Craig Wright" https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2015/12/investigations-this-guy-is-bitcoins-inventor.html
If you are a newbie to bitcoin, it will be fine if you forget all the bitcoin and Satoshi drama and focus on learning bitcoin. The drama is now mysterious.
819  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The fate of Democracy in West Africa shakes on: August 10, 2023, 02:01:50 PM
I am not thretened by the rising military coups in West Africa. I am a Nigerian and I am purely not bothered and if that coup happens in Nigeria, I will be among the happy ones. The people of Nigeria are not practising democracy. If you are continually disfranchised every 4 years, there is no evidence that you are practising democracy.

What could have caused the rising military coup in West Africa?
The major cause is the prolonged suffering of the citizens of these countries which is caused by the prolonged corruption by the politicians who vowed not to leave the seat of rulership.

Despite the saying that "worst democracy is better than the best military dictatorship," why do West African countries fall victim to coups?
If the military cannot shot an innocent person to death, I prefere them to the wicked and corrupt leaders we have now.
820  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: This idea go reduce our daily expenses. on: August 10, 2023, 08:13:25 AM
I know everyone has there own points but come to think of it okada man tire dey less for road and en dey push am go volcanizer abi? And fuel dey finish for some motor the owner dey push am go filling station Shay? So even if the electric bike battery off for road we go still push am go our house nah naija we dey, the only way to overcome this situations nah to dey very observant to the battery percentage and make we calculate the distance before we move go any destination, So my brother that one no be issues.
Well, you been understand my point but you no kuku reason am well before you replied. You mentioned something wey dey interesting. If petrol finish for person bike, e dey push am go filling station. This means that the filling station fit dey like 1 pole away, so there is a destination for fuel.
If person tyre less, dem go push the bike go vulcaniser. There is still a destination where air will be refilled.
But if your battery die, there is no destination apart from your house which might be several kilometres away from home.
I am not saying that the technology is not fine, what I meant is that the early adopters will suffer it before them begin build electric charging points for streets. I hope you get my point now.
