801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 12, 2023, 02:26:52 AM
According to what I've seen from vloggers (I just watched it today), it seems that Kai Sotto and Mikey Williams were the ones who pushed for a substantial salary. Apparently, Sotto's camp requested $400,000 to have him play in the Asian Cup, which does seem like a hefty sum, but it might align with Kai's current market value.

Nevertheless, what's in the past is in the past, and perhaps the SBP might find itself compelled to offer him that amount or even more once he makes his way into the NBA. However, as of now, he's still lagging behind some of the taller players in the NBA, like Wemby and Chet, so it's uncertain if he stands a good chance in the draft.

If we convert that into Philippine Peso, it is more than 20 million Php, though hefty but i think SBP can afford that amount but the thing here is that the players involved prioritize money rather than serving the nation first.

Some people disagree with Al Chua's revelation on the two players asking too much money but I think it is justified in the sense that they lack players and it is not business, it is for the nation so if we are called then accept without doubting, or asking something in return as money will flow into the pocket in due time.
Revealing such information could potentially tarnish the player's reputation. We all know how the public tends to blow things out of proportion. Chua should've handled the situation with more professionalism. After all, they're in the business, and nothing should be expected for free. Maybe Chua was just upset, but it's essential not to cross certain boundaries, just my two cents.

Have also read an article that the other player might face a silent ban as a consequence of his action.

Now I'm really curious about which player they're talking about. Could you provide more specifics? What exactly did the player get banned for, and is it a temporary suspension or a permanent one?
802  Economy / Speculation / Re: The crypto market has changed and I think its a sign of mass adoption on: October 11, 2023, 01:13:18 PM
Crypto is no longer just a niche topic for tech enthusiasts; it is now something that is being talked about by people from all walks of life. The progress that has been made in recent years is remarkable, and I believe that crypto mass adoption is inevitable. I am excited about the potential for crypto to democratize finance and create new opportunities for people all over the world, making it a more equitable and prosperous place.

It just now when people had already appreciated the movement of the market and its huge profit. The more it talks on social media and those people who have shown their wealth upon investing in Bitcoin, the more it drags attention and courage. But for me, it was not what we called adaption because people's interest is not about accumulating and using this as a currency but solely for investment purposes.
We can see huge demand as the corrections start and they soon be selling off their coins to make a profit and so the dumps started again.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How did Ripple (XRP) become so popular and blow up in price? on: October 11, 2023, 12:24:54 PM
ripple has always having bad rumour surrounding it but regardless this coin still becoming popular i guess part of it because the investors of ripple are usually newbies, they see ripple having partnership with big banks they then so sure ripple will be as valuable as bitcoin but thats just my speculation there might be other reason why its so popular.
People had just made it bad and negative rumors because XRP is still looking good. Maybe our concern is the price which is quite not growing high like others that makes some blowouts but if you could really see how useful it was in many traders, you can find that the trx cost it too small compared to other coins. This is why it brings XRP to attention and remains popular. A certain project may not just be familiar with its price but can be also on the nature of its function and XRP does something, a big help to the traders.
804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 11, 2023, 04:31:30 AM
Have you seen Fury vs Ngannou recent promo ? https://www.instagram.com/reel/CyIKXXMNol9/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA. Looks awesome. Funny how both agreed to make this more fun than serious.
Find myself thinking that I am excited to watch this fight. Previously I was kinda confusing about their challenge, but now I cant wait to see how Ngannou gonna perform in boxing. How he managed to switch from MMA base to pure boxing.

That's one fun and eye catching promotional video. It emphasizes the intensity of the heavy weight fighters punch, of course in a funny way. Though even without this promotional video, their names could be enough to gather the attention of both boxing and MMA fans.
This is indeed an exciting match as Ngannou has a background in boxing, only thing I am worried about is whether his stamina can keep up against a pure pro boxer like Fury. This has been the issue for most of the MMA fighters stepping into the boxing ring.

That's a pretty unique approach. I initially thought the theme would revolve around Fury's eating habits, while Ngannou stays dedicated to his training. That would've been fun too. You can tell this fight is no joke; they're really going all in with the promotion. And with the way the PPV rates are going, I'm guessing both of them will make a pretty decent income from all the promotional work they're doing.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 11, 2023, 03:57:48 AM
Playing healthy, I can agree to that, with Zion and CJ plus everyone on the rotation, they can really compete and bring hard time to anyone.

I think if Zion will be playing more games this season with less or no injury they can push to the playoff and make the team to be more competitive,
Both Zion and CJ can produce decent numbers and, with a good chemistry, they might carry the entire squad to move to the next round.

Too early though, as we needed to see first whether Zion will be on his full potential in this season or just like the other season he will
be bench because of his injury.

There's no question that they'll secure a spot in the playoffs if Zion remains healthy. They've proven their ability to do so in the past, and I'm confident they can repeat that success. It's not just CJ; Brandon Ingram has been the most reliable go-to player on the team when Zion is sidelined, and he certainly deserves credit. However, the team faces challenges without Zion, as they miss a player who can dominate in the paint. It's evident how unpredictable they become when Zion is on the court. The roster is solid, but when one key player is sidelined due to an unexpected injury, it affects the team's confidence as a whole.
806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin always fight back on: October 10, 2023, 09:41:58 PM
I never experienced bitcoins when they decrease its price and it never recover again because it always recovered for the past years also there is a timing for it especially when it reaches its peak, it will take some time to recover back again but the bottom line is, it surely recovered. now that we are close to bitcoin halving, surely there will be more investors already waiting out there and most of them are gonna just wait for the right time because they are aiming for the high chance of a new ATH just after the bitcoin halving.
That is why there is volatility in the market and aside from that, not all are weak and sell their Bitcoin when hearing negative news, some remain holding and buy more. That is why if it drops yesterday and might continue today but can be possible that it will change its course by tomorrow. Like after the bull season, the market turned bearish again, and now, we are recovering. Even though we can say it is very slow at least we say such price improvements which proves that there is recovery happening after the drop. People cannot be hopeless at all as they believe that ATH will come again and give them a reason to hold.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 10, 2023, 05:40:47 AM
Many fans think that its Mike Williams and Maverick Ahanmisi I don't know if I spelled his name right but this is flooded on Podcast of Pow sports. If that's the case then its not good since they are not actually committed for their country but rather they are there trying to earn a lot of money from the team. They shouldn't ask that since they don't prove anything yet on the league.

But they should move on to that discussion since that already happen, they already won the gold medal on last Asian games so its time for them to celebrate and ignore those negative  interference that can spoil the fun. They just focus on players that can provide their service without asking more further conditions  and forget about those people who ask to much from them.

These two have a track record of demanding hefty salaries from their teams, so it wouldn't be shocking if it turned out to be them. However, it's not essential anymore. We've managed to assemble a solid team, and even with limited preparation, we still clinched the gold medal.
Yeah, I don't think they'll make it to the team, mainly 'cause they're asking for way too much. And honestly, they're not even the top players in the PBA right now. Just check out how humble JMF and Scottie are - those guys are MVPs. And CJ, too! We could consider adding him since he was a scoring champ. They're all ready to represent the country and aren't pushing for big bucks, knowing the budget isn't huge.

Speaking of pay and salaries, I heard that SBP paid Jordan Clarkson $1 million for his participation in the FIBA World Cup. So, if they can afford to shell out that much, I believe our champions deserve a substantial reward, especially Justin Brownlee, who really carried the team and made history.

Totally get what you're saying, mate. JC's an NBA player but seeing how Brownlee's been performing, who knows if they'll shell out that $1 million next time. SMB might not be too keen on spending that much, you know how it goes.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]Adrien Broner vs Chris Howard (Welterweight) Nov 4. . on: October 10, 2023, 04:45:38 AM
It's not a championship fight, but it's certainly an intriguing one, mainly because many of us here would like to see Broner lose. His cocky demeanor doesn't endear him to everyone, and his style has its fair share of critics. Winning by unanimous decision in his last two fights does highlight his dominance as a boxer, and some see similarities between his style and Mayweather's. However, his loss to Pacquiao by UD did diminish his standing in comparison to Mayweather.

Being currently ranked in the top 15, he's in the bottom part of that list. It's hard to say whether a championship fight or retirement will come first for him.

Anyway, I would be interested of the betting odds in this one, would you love to share?
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin (DOGE) Pumps 10% As Elon Musk Links Memecoin To X on: October 09, 2023, 09:56:07 PM
A Dogecoin video artist just helped create an animation for Twitter’s “X” logo that was picked up by Elon Musk.
Dogecoin (DOGE) shot up another 10% on Tuesday on greater excitement surrounding Elon Musk’s rebranding of Twitter to “X”.
Tuesday’s rise follows a related post on Musk’s Twitter, where the tech mogul appeared to link X to the famous dog meme. Source
This would tell us that Elon Musk still has a huge influence in the crypto space and many people still following him. And the impact is huge even just in logo design.
Well, he makes Dogecoin famous several times so not to wonder why he does it again. Besides, he has the capacity to make hype and encourage investors to invest but they should be warned as well, especially for newcomers. Dogecoin is just profitable during the hype and people must know about it or else, they will suffer the consequences and lose their money.
810  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Use Crypto Signals? on: October 08, 2023, 09:34:24 PM
There are a lot of Crypto Signal Providers - about 5 of them are at the top of the list.
They claim 80% accuracy.
I googled reviews and I read nothing but good things about them.
If they were bad signals people would give bad reviews.

If they do have 80% accuracy, then anyone who uses them would become wealthy in a short time.
Do you use any crypto signals?
If that is true and really happened, they become rich already but they wanted to sell this to other people because it was not and it was just fake reviews trying to deceive people and make money from them. That was the real intention why signal groups were doing this. Maybe, if they would say it was 50%, that was believable but saying 80%, that is somewhat you think not to use them as this will be the reason for your losses, not profit.

Of course, you hear nothing bad because only the team had made reviews and it was manipulated.
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tszyu vs. Mendoza Confirmed for WBO Title Showdown on October 15th on: October 08, 2023, 12:48:35 PM
I'm not so sure if Mendoza has what it takes to beat Tszyu, especially when you look at his record – he's got 2 losses under his belt already. Seems like he's just an ordinary fighter, the kind Tszyu could probably handle pretty easily. But you know, you guys are spot on – Tszyu shouldn't get too cocky here, even though he's fighting in front of his fans. 'Cause, as they say, anything can happen in boxing.

Here's hoping this is just a warm-up for Tszyu before he faces off against a tougher opponent, someone who's a real champ. Not like Jeff Horn, who got a lot of hype but, in reality, got outboxed pretty easily in the ring. My vote's going to Tszyu on this one – that makes it 3-1 now.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sometimes just flex it ( luck is all you need) on: October 08, 2023, 10:47:41 AM
Hey, I'm pretty impressed by your luck to hit those odds. True, the amount might not be super significant, but if you'd bet bigger, you could've walked away with a hefty chunk of change. But, you know, since it's a parlay, some folks say you're just tossing your money away. It's not really necessary to bet big, which makes it easier to climb back up and just pick another parlay and hope for the best.
813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 08, 2023, 05:28:20 AM

Sadly, we won't be seeing the BAD this season since the team's been disbanded. I'm sure fans would have loved to welcome them, especially after they gave the Ginebra Gin Kings such a tough challenge in their first attempt. But hey, I'm still hoping for some top-notch entertainment, maybe even more than before!

That's a bit of a buzzkill, isn't it? I was kinda hoping they'd make a comeback and redeem themselves. It would've been a win-win for the PBA because BAD really boosted viewership, and those PBA Finals they were in? Man, they brought in some serious dough for the league.

Well, now that the team's been disbanded, I guess they should start scouting for a new team to take up the invite. Just make sure those refs aren't blowing the whistles in favor of the home team, if you catch my drift.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I can’t cope on my own. What do you think I should do? on: October 08, 2023, 04:55:01 AM
I'm really glad to see a fellow forum member sharing their sports betting journey. We all start out as newbies, and man, I get what you've been through. Let me drop a suggestion for you: steer clear of those VIP memberships or any channels that promise you guaranteed wins. Focus on your own game, work on improving your skills because that's the real deal for moving forward.

Think about it this way, if you subscribe to a Telegram channel with VIP membership, you're basically putting your faith in them, and you're shelling out cash, possibly no matter the outcome. Not a smart path to take, if you ask me. Trust no one but yourself in this game.
815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 06, 2023, 02:33:08 PM
Congratulations, Gilas Pilipinas! We got the gold.

Such a great game by Gilas. It wasn't all about Brownlee tonight; it was a total team effort. What I like about Gilas here is the defense.

Coach Tim Cone, the best coach in Asia. I'm just so happy tonight. FINALLY!

History has been made the gold medal drought for has been eliminated, we can see how those guys put a lot of effort to win this game and huge credit to Philippines and their coaching staff to win a championship this Asian games. But road to became a champion is not easy since we see Jordan gives a good fight but they came up short on the last quarter that's why they got defeated by Philippines. For sure now many basketball fans can understand that we need to change the coaching system of Philippines and not they see the result so for sure pinoy basketball fans is celebrating for this win. But I wonder if Chot Reyes is happy with this win since he might provably be compared to the new coach and fans will call him a total failure.  Grin

The advantage was on our side in that game because Gilas had already seen the type of play Jordan would bring. On Jordan's side, they didn't have to change much since their victory in their first meeting was quite impressive. It seemed like the Ginebra defense was employed in that game, and they might have been surprised by how physical we were. Since their three-point shots weren't falling, it disrupted their rhythm.

Indeed, we made history - it was the first time we reached the Finals and won the gold at the same time.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crawford vs Canelo-Charlo winner (no date yet) on: October 06, 2023, 02:13:16 PM
Spence and Crawford fighting at 154 is not an issue. Spence complained about 147. Crawford also admitted he had a hard time making it. They're both looking forward to be at 154 in their next fights. They'll debut in that division together. It's certainly not an issue if there isn't any belt on the line. It's their first time.

I also don't think Crawford is avoiding Charlo. Who is Charlo, after all? The boxer who could barely win a round against Canelo? If I were Crawford, I'd rather go straight to Canelo after defeating Spence in a rematch.

A rematch with Spence sounds like a good move for Crawford. It'll give him a chance to really test the waters in this new division. If he can beat Spence again, it'll definitely fuel speculation that Crawford can continue to shine as he climbs the ranks.

Not sure if this is good moved by Spence, but if it is going to be 154 lbs, yeah, we will see if Crawford can still beat Spence the way he did it at 147 lbs. So if it's a dominating fashion again, no doubt he could be one of the best in this era.

Spence has the opportunity to make a comeback in a different weight class, and I'm confident that this weight class suits him well. It's natural for everyone to assume that Crawford will win, given Spence's performance in their first meeting. However, there's no guarantee that Crawford will win again. Let's see if Spence can devise a different strategy that could potentially surprise the fans and secure a victory.

Now, thinking about a fight against Canelo is intriguing. People might lean towards Canelo, especially since Crawford's not in his natural weight class yet. But you know, in boxing, anything can happen, and maybe those of us who think he'll struggle will be proven wrong. I think he should take it one step at a time, not rush into any decisions. That time will come eventually.

Now this is a fight that is really intruiging as you have said, Charlo try to do it, climbing from 154 lbs to 168 lbs and fight Canelo and failed. And it's not even close as he just want to survived in that fight. So what's more for Crawford from 147 lbs to super middleweight, it's not going to be easy for him.

They are different boxers, so we will probably see a different result. In my opinion, Crawford is much more popular than Charlo. He currently holds the top spot on the pound-for-pound list, while Charlo isn't even in the top 10, if I'm not mistaken.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Educate yourself to be a frugal gambler on: October 06, 2023, 12:32:48 PM
Play for fun. If you are not playing for fun, you are doing it wrong. Gambling should be done to entertain yourself only, and always remember that gambling is not a sound financial investment. I have witnessed the horrors of people who blow their kids college funds and life savings on gambling at a Casino. Don't be one of these people. Have a daily or weekly gambling budget and learn which games you like and how to play them so that you can actually have much more fun playing them than just winging any game.
I will tell you that once you fall into addiction, the only thing that makes you happy is when you win. If you can see that some gambler compromises their finances and budgets, it means these gamblers are not just playing for fun but already chasing their losses. I'm not sure what you mean by frugal in gambling because if you mean the real meaning of that, you'd better not gamble any amount but instead, make use of it to invest. As I gamble using my extra money, I have no problem with it even if I lose.
818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I choose Bitcoin on: October 06, 2023, 12:04:16 PM
Legit or reputable companies don't offer that much (13%) but scam does in order to encourage people to put their money into them.
Good decision to decline that offer but I wasn't sure that choosing Bitcoin would also be a great idea. And I tell you why because even though Bitcoin is profitable if you can't manage it well, that will incur losses also. If ever you do this better see yourselves first and how prepared you are because many people lose their money due to lack of knowledge. You can't jump into crypto without any idea what is all about and how it works.
819  Economy / Speculation / Re: September didn't follow its bear cycle on: October 06, 2023, 09:16:57 AM
Going back a full month, in late August or early September, many people on several site and on the cryptocurrency Twitter were suddenly very vocal in saying that September was bound to be bearish for Bitcoin because the previous two had seen significant dips and because September is simply historically one of the worst performing months for cryptocurrency.

Well, some people did it but not me. These are some reasons I see, we haven't heard of huge scams and hacking incidents in big exchanges nor have we heard of another big issue against the SEC. This has a significant impact on the investors who feel that the market is good and reliable which leads them to buy more.

This will eventually tell us that sometimes history never repeats itself and has no assurance at all. Plus, the volatility of the market makes things and the upcoming trend become unpredictable.
