821  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Sell 200 BTC by cash in Moscow on: November 01, 2017, 01:04:06 AM
And the venue is Moscow of course... as if you and the 200 BTC are safe after the transaction. Big if.

If no extraordinary caution and due diligence are observed, you might find yourself (and maybe your corpse) named and pictured on breaking news the following day.

When you transact in Russia, you're doing it in the wolves' den.

822  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Trying to use ChipMixer and no clue how to withdraw on: November 01, 2017, 12:03:49 AM
Withdraw the chips and when you see the page where the private keys are shown, copy and paste them in your bitcoin wallet.

If you use the blockchain wallet, click on "settings", then "addresses". And finally "import bitcoin address". A pop up box will show "Import Existing Bitcoin Address". Delete any default text inside the box and paste the Chipmixer private key. Click on import and then transfer. Do this with the rest of the Chipmixer private keys. Done.

823  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Wirex- Bitcoin Debit Card | Buy Bitcoin | Mobile Banking | Send Money on: October 31, 2017, 06:58:25 PM
I saw today that my virtual card has been blocked, why has it been blocked? i'm excepting a refund on that blocked card, will it be credited in my account?

You should contact their support to ask about the blocked card. It was probably blocked because of the incoming refund. If your virtual card is not fully verified and if the limits are on the lower end of the scale, then the refund might have hit your card's limit which explains the block.

Or, if unverified, the card is probably not allowed to receive refunds.

Or, if you have a Wave Crest virtual card and you are not a resident of their allowed countries, then this should explain the block. This list of countries was recently shrunk and restricted to residents of mostly EU countries (Turkey and Israel included). The rest of the world is excluded.

If you do not live in any of the countries below, then you should contact Wirex's support to ask about your refund.

Andorra, Austria, Bailiwick of Guernsey, Bailiwick of Jersey, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

824  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex $360K Frozen $0.00 remaining of $0.00 USD daily limit. on: October 31, 2017, 06:41:19 PM
This is one of the many mismanaged exchanges which have turned rogue. You have Yobit, Bittrex, Poloniex and more on the list.

Now why would you leave a third of a million dollars on a wallet with private keys you don't know and control? I know, you use their platform for trades and all that but leaving that much money on an online wallet is/was very brave and daring of you. Exchanges can go bust anytime without prior warning.

Then you have the scam angle to consider here. The exchange is run by humans like us, prone to taking what's not rightfully theirs.

The "360k frozen" are just words you see on your screen. Holdings or assets, as the screen shots say. Your actual BTC are now probably paying for someone's lavish lifestyle.

825  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopay Bitcoin Debit card + Giveaway on: October 31, 2017, 06:29:00 PM

Please don't feel neglected, we're looking for a solution to issue cards outside the EU again! We don't see you guys as any of the things you've mentioned and are looking forward to get back to the market!

Seems like there is some hope to cling to. I'll put some faith in your promise above and a window of opportunity will open for us non-EU residents. A lasting and functional and cost-effective bitcoin card is very much missed in this community.

Please keep us updated. I'm also keeping your iOS app open and active on my phone.

826  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lost 25 bitcoins from bit blender on: October 29, 2017, 03:33:59 AM
^^ I realize that and I stand corrected. I suspect this looks more and more like a cloned/phished situation in which case the scammers made off with one big haul there. These clones are very sophisticated scams.

As for my above accusation or suspicion, I’m retracting it after looking into the cloning issue as a more realistic picture of OP’s situation.

Never google these mixers. Type out their website addresses letter by letter and carefully check everything before sending coins.

25 BTC. I can think of a lot of good things I could invest them in or spend them with.
827  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sent BTC to bitmixer2 and it's been over 24 hours and still haven't forwarded on: October 29, 2017, 03:18:10 AM
To avoid all the drama, use a reputable mixing service such as Chipmixer. You send the bitcoins, wait for a single confirmation and withdraw your chips. Safe and simple.

Support is quick to respond in the event of any open issues and they are resolved transparently and fairly. As I just said, it’s a zero-drama procedure. And trust, that big word, is something you never have to worry about. The mixer works beautifully and flawlessly.
828  Economy / Exchanges / Re: HitBTC.com - The most advanced cryptocurrency exchange on: October 29, 2017, 02:30:49 AM
New listings - 17.10

Dear traders!

We are thrilled to update you on the new tokens listed on HitBTC yesterday, 17th of October.

Happy trading!

Yes, I realize you are thrilled and ecstatic and overjoyed and all that.. but I suggest setting aside these bursts of joy and seriously resolving all the complaints about unexplained transactions some of your users posted about.

There's one on the scam subforum, for example. Look into it and do something about it. it can't be a once-off glitch in your system. There is a pattern of such misappropriated coins on your exchange. Stop ignoring them.

You advertised the exchange as the perfect and best exchange on this planet. Live up to your word.

829  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lost 25 bitcoins from bit blender on: October 29, 2017, 02:13:14 AM
Why did you use this mixer? That would be my first question.

25 BTC.. that's almost 150k USD. Enough money to tempt certain people to give up their mixer business.

I can't understand why, for this kind of money, you didn't do some due diligence first before sending the coins to oblivion. So now you can't recover them? Have you contacted their support? If they are unresponsive, then there you have it. A perfect scam.

Why didn't you send the coins in small batches?

You should have used Chipmixer.

Edit.. and oh yes, forgot the clone/phishing link angle. Did you google the blender and did you carefully check the URL for genuineness?

830  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scam hitbit.com on: October 29, 2017, 02:04:48 AM
And they advertise themselves as the perfect and best exchange on this planet.

Never trust these liars. I had my doubts on their ANN thread when people were complaining about suspicious transactions but they quickly tried to correct their almost tarnished reputation, probably to continue milking coins before the scam becomes full blown and exposed.

So now you have these FUNny transactions appearing on your account and you can't explain them. And then support staff pretends to have no idea how they happened or who made them. I suspect it's an insider incident and they just want to play the good-support-people-trying-to-help guys. It won't work. The damage is done and people should wake up and stop injecting coins in these mismanaged exchanges (these, yes, because that includes Yobit, Bittrex etc).

831  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Profiles (all 50 states) on: October 29, 2017, 01:49:11 AM
I sense something sinister in this post.

Probably "credit card" profiles? "SSN" profiles? Bank account profiles? PayPal profiles?

Enlighten me. I might be wrong.

I see you have been posting the same "profiles for sale" ads back in September and refused to respond to those who asked about it. It seems you want everything discussed via pm which makes this even more suspicious.

832  Economy / Lending / Re: Want to lend 5-10 bitcoins willing to pay interest on: October 29, 2017, 01:30:04 AM
Hi, I want to loan 5-10 bitcoins for 1-2 years at a negotiable interest rate. Based in the UK, can provide collateral, happy to sign a contract, etc.

Written contracts are unfortunately of little value here. The collateral is the contract. So if you have an acceptable one and enough to cover the loan value plus interest, then you might stand a chance of actually getting a loan.

As for the 1 to 2 years, this will of course affect the value of the collateral you need. I guess it would be principal plus the total interest.

Passports, ID, contracts and IOU messages will not work. You need liquidable digital or tangible assets which should be transferable to the lender in their totality. Recoverable online assets such as domains might not work if they can be re-accessed or reset in your favor after the initial transfer.

I recommend offering stable listed altcoins.

Edit.. just read your response above. Yes, those are nice collateral but they need to be appraised and assayed first to the satisfaction of the lender. And they also need to be physically transferred to either the lender or an acceptable escrow.

833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fees make me angry on: October 29, 2017, 01:22:29 AM
The fees on blockchain's wallet are confusing and sometimes seem erroneously or arbitrarily calculated. For example, I sent two transactions totalling 0.72 BTC last week and the first send was for about 0.4 BTC. I customised the fee at 0.001 to speed up the confirmation (it was an urgent payment). Then I sent the remaining 0.3 something but then the fee was outrageous. Even for 0.0005 it was showing something like $9! omg and it was suggesting I use 40 sats for the expedited option! I just followed the suggestion since it wasn't giving me other options. I logged out and relogged in to check if it might change the fee calculation but it was still the same super high fee for sending 0.3 btc.

834  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sent BTC to bitmixer2 and it's been over 24 hours and still haven't forwarded on: October 29, 2017, 01:11:05 AM
You should have used Chipmixer. Why do people experiment with new mixers and hope for good results?

With Chipmixer, it's just one confirmation. That's all it takes and your coins are mixed beautifully and perfectly.

As for this mixer, not sure if you will see your coin output but I suggest contacting their support staff.. if they have one.

Good luck.
835  Economy / Goods / Re: Diamonds with BTC? on: October 29, 2017, 01:07:39 AM
the main point is private way to invest your money into something let's say real and pricey without attracting attention, with all other profs that gives you diamonds.
Shipping. Local pickup at few places, Brinks also good, delivery directly to buyer is possible upon request but still depending on stone weight.

Yes, if the intention is to buy diamonds as a private and lasting investment. Similar to buying and owning a Patek Philippe watch which is an equally good personal investment. The longer one keeps them, the more valuable they become.

They are also good for those who want to give their wives or daughters something meant to last a lifetime. Few things last forever and diamonds fit in this category of priceless treasures.

For those who have liquid crypto assets and with enough disposable bitcoins to pay for these stones, a nice IF D-color stone is the best gem to invest in. Even less flawless ones will do but I'm a perfectionist and I appreciate perfect things so that's just how I see it.

The bigger the stone, the better.
836  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: can't trust bittrex anymore. be careful on: October 29, 2017, 12:59:09 AM
Guys, do NOT store coins in any wallet which you do not control. A safe wallet is one where the private keys are controlled, owned and known by you and you alone. As in the case with Bittrex, they control all the keys so there is no way you can access those coins unless and until they unlock these blocked accounts.

There should be a list of errant and rogue exchanges. And they should be advertised and publicly listed for the well being and safety of the bitcoin community's assets. We now have, among others, Yobit and Bittrex as candidates for this list.

Scary and disturbing that nobody knows who owns and controls this exchange. Sending all these ID to a stranger (not to mention the already locked coins) is extremely risky.

837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Someone sent my bitcoins on: October 29, 2017, 12:47:31 AM
No chance of seeing your bitcoins returned to your wallet. Bitcoin by nature is irreversible which is good in many ways but also bad news for situations like yours.

The best way forward is to accept you lost them and to observe safer ways of storing your bitcoins. Start by cleaning your hard drive and installing the latest anti-virus and malware defense systems. That aside, you should also be careful when clicking on external links or be aware of phishing redirects sent by email (or even by SMS).

When accessing your wallet on public wifi networks, be careful too. Fake wifi networks snoop on people's laptops and phones these days. If you are not careful, they can actually install stuff on your computer without you even being aware of it.

838  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: October 28, 2017, 11:34:30 PM
It'd be interesting to know what the issuing bank for their cards is. I might go through getting one to find out if nobody here has personal experience with this.

I believe it is Global Cash Hong Kong.

They are a major prepaid card provider in HK.

https://www.globalcash.hk/

Either that or Transforex.

https://www.transforex.hk/

They both issue travel cards and prepaid limited-value cards.

Major banks such as HSBC, Hang Seng, Standard Chartered and other banks in HK don't offer prepaid cards unless it is linked to an account with these banks. So it must be one of the two above.
839  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling BTC for ETH or USD (Venmo or Debit) on: October 28, 2017, 11:11:04 PM
send me a PM ill buy all the BTC you are selling..  waiting for you!

He won't because he probably read your other posts about not sending money first.

The guy wants money upfront. He claims he has no idea how escrow works (yeah right).

If you want to do a mini experiment, try sending him a pm and offer to send ETH or Venmo to him first. You should get a response faster than a ferrari with a brake failure.

840  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WageCan - Gold card on: October 28, 2017, 10:58:17 PM
I think they priced their cards based on the current state of affairs about Visa and MasterCard refusing to allow Wave Crest to offer their cards worldwide.

They know they are one of the few, if not even the sole provider of a bitcoin debit card which knows no geographic restrictions, apart from North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan and a few other countries.

So if you don't mind the low ATM limits (25k per year max), the high cost of applying for the card, the horrible ATM charges (acquiring bank's fee + WageCan's bank's 2.5% nightmare fee) and... (drum roll)... their super long loading time (several days up to a week or longer during Taiwan/HK holidays) then this is a card to consider for those who desperately need a way to convert their bitcoins to cash.

Don't forget that they arbitrarily downgrade account limits and they do this without warning. You could be shopping or having dinner with friends or family, about to pay the bill and you get an email on your phone letting you know that you need to reverify yourself (even if you were fully verified earlier). Always have a back up card to avoid embarrassment.
