821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 09, 2023, 05:49:12 PM
I doubt that you had so many wins and did not ever make a screenshot or a photo of these wins. Don't get me wrong, if you actually did it it's great and I envy you, but in the Internet everybody is a winner Wink

If you set yourself a goal like for you it's a million dollars but you keep starting with low bets like 10k or something similar, you'll never make it. Statistically the more x you want to get it get's progressively harder. Getting 2x is easy, 10 x is very hard, but you're already winning 100x, like with your 1-100k bet and it's still not enough for you. You would like to see a miracle where you turn 1k into a million and it's probably not going to happen. You're really lucky and you're wasting it.
822  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can the ban on smartphones curtail peer pressure? on: June 08, 2023, 07:30:08 PM
It's sad. Compared to the good old days where the best place to seek information is the library but technology has and is slowly making it obsolete. Now I'm not against advancement and all that but kids dependence on it is alarming. But still, placing a ban for me is not going to change anything.
Yeah, I remember my childhood when there was no smartphones and only beginning of mobile phones. It was such good times and current kids won't experience all things that we experienced. Now if you will tell kids to look for information in books, they will look into you - dude, why I should, Google will tell the answer.
I guess you were born in the late 80s, early 90s. Great times! I was born in the 80s myself and I remember the times times when we would get together with friends and have fun outside. We'd play ball, chase each other, race remote controlled cars, shoot water guns and then go back home to watch cartoons before going to bed. Best times of my life.

Nowadays kids don't even talk. They go outside, sit on benches and write each other messages on facebook or play games on their phones. They can't even talk like normal people just answer with gifs and memes.
823  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: June 08, 2023, 07:12:48 PM
They did not cut the line to Crimea, that is on the east bank and can be supplied without the dam apparently, and they damaged the dam just enough to engulf and drown the islands but not flooding the RF controlled territory. If you ask me, the only thing that does not match is them not shelling the boats that were evacuating the Ukrainian soldiers.
I don't know what they planned, but seems that things didn't went as planned. Some of RF controlled cites and villages like Nova Kahovka or Oleshky become almost completely flooded. Also, floodfing broke first defense line of Russia. And this information was posted by Russian sources.
Also, Russians telling that dam was destroyed by Himars. But you must be really dumb to believe that's possible to destroy such dam and make so much damage with Himars. You only can do it from inside.

That's why Russians are now saying that they did not blow it up because they made a mistake. They drowned their own people who were stationed along the banks of the river and damaged the power and water supplies to their own, occupied land. Land that they were supposed to protect from nazis. Now they're going to blame the Ukrainians just like they did with that downed Malaysian flight.

And here's how the protection is going. Russians will come to liberate you with tanks, rape your women, kill your dogs, murder men in cold blood, steal your cars and washing machines, drink all your alcohol and then blow up a dam or a nuclear power plant and destroy what's left. If I were to find myself under the protection of RF, I'd pack my bags and run West.
824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can we do, should do, or not do as Bitcoin supporters at this time? on: June 08, 2023, 06:52:39 PM
Bitcoin doesn't need our help, it's doing great actually. Exchanges are being targeted because they were peddling shitcoins.

I've been saying it for years that I don't trust Binance and CZ and I don't trust tether, bnb and all the rest of these unnecessary tokens that only confuse the average user into thinking they're all the same. That they're all "crypto" and it doesn't matter what you get, you should get a number of these shitcoins so you don't have all your eggs in one basket.

The deal with CZ is that he was trading on his own exchange and manipulating the markets and he wasn't sharing any data with any auditors. It was all "safu" and all fine and dandy until he was making money. CZ doesn't care about bitcoin, he just wants his listing fees and he likes making $$$. Crypto is just a horse he wants to keep riding until it dies and then there's going to be another horse and another.

Should we do something? Clap maybe that shitcoin peddlers are running out of time? Since Bitcoin is not a security there will eventually be bitcoin only exchanges. Just a matter of time.
825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best open source hardware wallets for BTC? on: June 08, 2023, 06:41:50 PM
Ledger is a good hardware wallet.
But it's not. With the whole obscurity about how they encryp your seedphrase to be able to recover your private keys should you get a new ledger device, it's best to go for the better, more transparent alternatives.

This is also not the first time ledger wallet has come under scrutiny, there have bee data breaches in the past that exposed its users to personalized scams. They also did not reveal the hack early enough but waited about a month before reporting on the hack, not giving their users a heads up to change their personal details on other platforms.

Let's not make a bigger deal out of it than it really is. The data breaches were related to customers who purchased their devices directly from ledger and all the breach revealed was their shipping addresses, so it wasn't such a big deal. If you were actively using online stores for the last 10 years, your address is being included in hacked databases sold on deep web anyway. Many people, including me, bought our ledgers from resellers, and we were not affected by that.

I agree that their recent update is unnecessary and in breach of the basic rules of self custody, so I recommend not updating your ledger if you have one and slowly thinking of a new wallet, because one day that update may become mandatory and then you'll become vulnerable. Still with that last update ledger is safer than your average exchange.

As for wallets, I recomend blockstream jade or keystone. Keystone is easier to use but more bulky and supports a number of shitcoins, so if you're not into that and support bitcoin only wallets choose jade. Both have qr scanners and run on batteries, so they're much better than ledger nano.
826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll management discussion on: June 07, 2023, 06:31:24 PM
What percentage of your bankroll are using as your bet size. I read an article online before that 1% to 3% is the ideal for low risk gambling while 4% to 5% for aggressive gambling. I use the aggressive type bankroll management on most of my game because I’m always bored playing with minimum bets or low percentage of my bankroll because I knew that house edge will kill me long term.

Are using a fixed percentage on your bets or you are just betting random amount? Also do you deposit your total bankroll and just withdraw if you are on target profit or stop loss or you are just depositing exact amount of money for your gambling without extra.

I like to play extremely safe so I use 100% of my bankroll, but deposit a new one with each bet, effectively spending not more than 1% of my monthly pay.
Let's say there's a sports event coming and I'm making $1k a month. I will deposit $10 to casino and bet all of that on the team or a fighter (when it comes to boxing or MMA) that I like.

I don't bet a lot of money, for me it's more important to have an active bet than actually make money doing it because it makes watching the match more exciting. I also never hold a lot of money on these sites. It's deposit > 1 bet > withdrawal > deposit > 1 bet > withdrawal.
827  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Duelbits, $500,000 scam alert. on: June 07, 2023, 06:06:54 PM
I have the same thinking there's no existing scam accusation against Duelbits prior to your issue but I'm sure that they are fully aware of this issue.

I'm not trying to defend OP here, but as the old saying goes: there's always the first time. The fact that there were no accusations prior to this one doesn't change anything.
Do you remember Terra Luna? It wasn't scamming people until it did scam all of them.

A week is a lot of time, to be honest. The longer it takes the worse it will look for the casino, even if eventually they'll return his money. Actually, from a PR point of vies, at this point it woud've been better if they could prove that OP was at fault. At least that would explain why it took so much time (evidence gathering).
828  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is it possible to Sue the SEC as german citizen? on: June 07, 2023, 05:42:13 PM
US SEC is not on your country jurisdiction

It's actually funny when you say it, because the US has been targeting individuals and companies outside its jurisdiction for many years.

Actually i think the Sec is manipulating the crypto market since month/years, as specially garry ganssler is abusing his power.

I see this as a PR move by Gensler, whose reputation was tarnished by FTX. He was in fact attacked in the congress for talking with SBF in private. His attack on crypto exchanges is a way of showing his superiors that he's not in cahoots with the biggest players in this industry.
829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: June 07, 2023, 05:30:20 PM
I felt a little bit of it after losing, but it helps me to always think of my bet as lost from the start. There's always that small amount of hope which turns into regret when you eventually realize the money is gonw, but with the right attitude you can get over it.

Bottom line, remorse and regret are normal emotions that you face when you lose something and it doesn't matter if it's money, property, someone close to you, even an opportunity.
830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should cryptocurrency be banned in a country with a population of 240 million? on: June 06, 2023, 08:12:54 PM
Pressured by FATF. The government complies as the country needs aide.
Pakistan is their own country, no one else can decide for it but their officials and if they say crypto is banned, then it is. Eventually they come to realized they can't actually do it due to BTC's nature.

Its not about population, 240 is small compare to Billions on earth. BTC will survive without Pakistan.

They're in fact looking like complete fools by obeying FATF, which has no power over any country. It actually has no power at all. It's up to you whether you want to listen to them or not and they know it. That's why all they do is post "recommendations" but cannot make countries play by their rules.
Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is a joke. A puppet on a string. If an elected government of a country bows before such an organization, it only shows how deep in debt the country has to be if it's afraid of being put on some list.

You can't ban bitcoin, that's a fact and many countries have learned it the hard way. Time for Pakistan, I guess.
831  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price bouncing from 200 Week MA on: June 06, 2023, 07:54:47 PM
Again we broke thru the 20WMA. However it’s still the beginning of the week and we can still close above the 200WMA. However even if that happens I don’t think it’s due to the weekly average holding support.

Like Fibonacci or Elliot waves, these types of indicators don’t work well when there is a fundamental event like today with the binance news. Maybe if it wasn’t for this news we would be at $27k but instead are in for a lot of regulatory uncertainty.

Events like that where we break it to the downside and dont follow through later (fakeouts) are common in bitcoin and don't really matter.
I can give you 2 good examples of such move. One was the silk road crash, when the news broke out that the site was seized and its owner arrested, the other one was the famous covid crash. Both times it did not change the long term trend.

IMO daily price doesn't matter at all and it's pointless to keep watching it.
832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: June 04, 2023, 06:12:35 PM
Oh god, how ridiculous, how in the world this become so possible on their sports board. How on earth they will manage and identify that the game will no be rigged because high likely its possible and easy.

The rules are also not clear. How do you actually decide on who wins the competition?
"The winners will be determined through three juries and audience ratings" so someone watches you have sex and decide if they like it or not?
There's no real rules they have to obey, so betting on something that you don't even know how to score is pointless and a waste of money unless you like utter randomness.
833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you use a VPN on a casino, even if it is not allowed in their ToS? on: June 04, 2023, 05:49:42 PM
It's just not worth it, unless you have no other way to gamble.
I'll give you an example. If I were living in a country that doesn't allow gambling at all and blocks all gambling sites, I'd have to use VPN to connect to most services. In such case I'd look for a casino that doesn't go hard on VPN users and try playing there.

I'm not in such situation so there's no need for me to do it.
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $90,000 all in bet on: June 02, 2023, 08:05:22 PM
This bet is actually too risky and I think it's already 45 minutes into the match and the decision  of the op to me isn't a nice one as it would have been better if he took out atleast $10,000 rather than risking everything in just one match.
Well we ought to always remember  that we should  never gamble with money we can't afford to loss and also remember that nothing is certain in gambling  and at such,  your predictions aren't certain and has no guaranty.
Well since the money is yours and we can't actually tell you what to do rather than make suggestions,  I think you are not even ready to loss this money because it seems you're making the best because you think you are certain of your pick.
Goodluck mate.

It depends on what 90k is to OP. If he's making 200k a year, betting 90k might not be such a big deal. Still risky as fuk, but not the end of the world. Someone like me, who barely makes 50k a year would shit himself betting that much and my wife would probably kill me if I lost, so I'll say it again, it depends on who you are, how much money you have, how comfortable you are betting this much. I'd at least split that into multiple smaller bets.

Good luck OP, you have about 30m left. Don't chicken out before the end Wink
835  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: June 02, 2023, 07:56:31 PM
IMO it's not safe which is why I avoid KYC at all cost. If the casino demands it for withdrawals over a certain limit, I don't withdraw over the limit. If it requires KYC for fiat withdrawals, I don't use fiat. If it does random KYC screening, I tend to avoid the casino completely.

Many years ago I've decided that it's important for me to stay anonymous in the Internet, which is why I never reveal any sensitive data and I never send scans of my documents. You will not find my face anywhere in the web. It allows me to feel somewhat safe.
836  Economy / Speculation / Re: Opportunity to buy on: June 02, 2023, 07:48:58 PM
My reason to invest right now, if i had no bitcoin would be simple math. Think about it for a second and you'll come to the same conclusion. What is the chance of bitcoin going to 0 and compare that to the chance of bitcoin going to the last ATH to retest it.

Another reason is the current price. It's less than 50% of the ATH which is really low. Usually bitcoin retests the 50% level frequently, so 35k is almost a certainty at this point. So, knowing bthat bitcoin will hit 50% level somewhere in the next 12 month, even if it gets rejected by it, why wouldn't you buy bitcoin at 27k if it was bound to retest crucial levels somewhere in the next 12 months? No other investment is going to give you an opportunity of earning 30% in a year.
837  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crypto banned from the USA on: June 01, 2023, 07:36:29 PM
"You cannot ban bitcoin, you can only ban yourself from bitcoin" - this is probably the best way to describe this situation.

The current administration in the US is trying to appease eco clowns who think bitcoin mining is destroying the planet. They have to fight against something so if chaining yourself to a tree is no longer popular and so is freeing animals from labs, there has to be something else they can do, right? Fortunately there's a lot of bright people in the US who fight for their states to remain free.
838  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Duelbits, $500,000 scam alert. on: June 01, 2023, 07:18:55 PM
Wait patiently, OP. I see no reason to attack after just 2 days of waiting, especially since you've withdrawn so much money from them without any problems.

Just verified Duelbits ethereum address:  0x4E80744fa23cEC76e1621ce0DfACeB4B1D532e12

They don't even have 500k USDT to complete the withdrawal. I believe you are alright, but they don't have enough liquidity right now.
https://etherscan.io/token/0xdac17f958d2ee523a2206206994597c13d831ec7?a=0x4e80744fa23cec76e1621ce0dfaceb4b1d532e12

So according to you they only have 1 address? Good job detective!
Even if they were really out, converting funds takes not more than a few minutes, so they can quickly generate enough of a given token in case of a large withdrawal.
839  Economy / Gambling / Re: THNDR Play Games to Earn Bitcoin on: June 01, 2023, 06:56:04 PM
Are these games loaded with ads that you have to watch? I'm assuming that's how the developer is able to give out money? How many sats are you able to earn? I'm sure you won't earn alot playing but would be nice to know. Either way, pretty cool you can get paid to play a game in your spare time.

I've tried to install one of them and got immediately asked to link my google or twitter account.

Ok, so I gave it a try to see how much I could be getting and here's the catch: you are not getting sats for playing, for high scores, for nothing really. You get tickets that allow you to enter a lottery, where you can win a few sats, or not. So, if you feel like you can make some bitcoin playing, it's probably possible, but your head will be in pain after a few hours of watching commercials and you'll probably get $0.1 for it. Yes, it's not a mistake $0.1 because the top prize that I saw was 1000 sats (0.00001 BTC)
840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Individuals attached to Bitcoin history on: June 01, 2023, 01:35:19 PM
There are already popular guys like GameKyuubi the Creator of Hodling(HODL), laszro the first person to make transaction on the Bitcoin blockchain and Lot's more.
Are you trying to make a list of people who contributed to the early development of bitcoin? Start with people who were there from the beginning like Hal Finney, Nick Szabo, Gavin, or Sirius. There's a number of early bitcoin developers you might be interested in, just google the phrase. The (drunk) creation of the HODL word is really not that important compared to what some developers did for bitcoin.
