821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crawford vs Canelo-Charlo winner (no date yet) on: October 06, 2023, 06:06:58 AM
Spence and Crawford fighting at 154 is not an issue. Spence complained about 147. Crawford also admitted he had a hard time making it. They're both looking forward to be at 154 in their next fights. They'll debut in that division together. It's certainly not an issue if there isn't any belt on the line. It's their first time.

I also don't think Crawford is avoiding Charlo. Who is Charlo, after all? The boxer who could barely win a round against Canelo? If I were Crawford, I'd rather go straight to Canelo after defeating Spence in a rematch.

A rematch with Spence sounds like a good move for Crawford. It'll give him a chance to really test the waters in this new division. If he can beat Spence again, it'll definitely fuel speculation that Crawford can continue to shine as he climbs the ranks.

Now, thinking about a fight against Canelo is intriguing. People might lean towards Canelo, especially since Crawford's not in his natural weight class yet. But you know, in boxing, anything can happen, and maybe those of us who think he'll struggle will be proven wrong. I think he should take it one step at a time, not rush into any decisions. That time will come eventually.
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 06, 2023, 05:16:06 AM
People say RHJ is the next Kobe, but we've got Brownlee, our very own MJ. Now, who's the real deal?

That might be a bit over the top, but hey, I like the enthusiasm! We gotta give props to our own, right? I'm totally on board with the idea that Brownlee is the best import the Philippines has seen. There's even a big debate going on about who's better, JB or JC, and it's dividing opinions. Right now, JB's got everyone hyped up with what he's been doing for our country.

As far as I know, we've got one gold medal in the bag, could've been two if it wasn't for that decision that favored the home fighter and cost Eumir Marcial. Basketball might just be one event, but it's the most popular sport in the Philippines, in my opinion. Winning a gold medal in it is a huge deal, and it'll go down in history for sure. People won't forget that anytime soon!
823  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 06, 2023, 03:02:52 AM
If you have plans to start a dream business that requires a capital of  $20,000 and you were able to make a savings of $15,000 which obviously isn't enough to start up the business, what would be your decision or advice?

1. Invest the $15,000 into a smaller business hoping that the returns will yield the remaining $15,000 in a short period. Note that this has the potential of failing and wasting the already-saved  $15,000.

2. Keep the $15,000 while doing other work that will yield the remaining money over a long period.

Would love to see your input or a better suggestion apart from the ones I pointed out above.

N/B
This is the typical situation a friend finds himself and we are just brainstorming in what best to do.
It is best to start a business when you already have more than enough money. If you have only $15k and the required capital is $20k, you'd better prepare $30-40k before you start. Why? That $10-20k excess is for your backup money and for additional expenses. Also, you must anticipate the situation that your business may not give you profit right away but the expenses continue so there still be money reserved for that. You'd better continue working and find another business type that suits your savings.
824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons of my experience and knowledge about Bitcoin on: October 06, 2023, 02:23:19 AM

_ share Bitcoin cautiously, people might think you want to scam them.

_ Don't Force Bitcoin on others, but be a resource to those who seek knowledge
Just surprise them and they become interested in them, and then they'll be asking what you did. Because at the time we discuss it with them about Bitcoin, the more they hate to hear it but at the moment they will see you improving, which gives them the courage to know about it. Let us wait for the time they will come to us, that was the right time to share ideas about it as it was useless to share at a time when they don't have interest, you'll just be wasting your time. Until they are still thinking negatively about Bitcoin, nothing it gets in, they will still believe what they heard around -scams and FUDs.
825  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading purely based on luck. on: October 05, 2023, 09:50:06 PM
You say you depend on luck to succeed in business but I cannot agree with you. Fortune depends on one's hard work and one's efforts. A hardworking person aims to achieve something in his life and a lazy person dreams that success will catch him by himself, a person is striving to reach his goal another person is passing his time in idleness and waiting for something amazing to happen here. A person who works hard is more likely to achieve success. You may have started training without understanding about trading but later you tried to gain understanding about trading and gained practical experience because of which you were able to achieve success in your business. So if you want to achieve success, you must try, it is not possible to achieve success depending only on luck.
Well, OP is not talking about business but Trading. Of course, we never succeed if we just rely on luck but rather make use of our knowledge and skills as a tool to earn a profit from trading. But OP had a sort of market trial using demo accounts and that seemed to easy to win our emotions since there is no real money involved there unlike when we are using our hard-earned money, a lot of things are changed.

Anyways, whether we are in trading or business, sometimes we are hoping for some luck but of course, it should be accompanied by hard work and effort.
826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest only in Bitcoin and never invest in shitcoin on: October 05, 2023, 09:24:39 PM

Bitcoin should be preferred for a long-term investment. Altcoins are generally preferred by those who want to make a profit in a short time or who want to buy different coins other than Bitcoin. I don't know if it's good or bad to have diversity in the market. Plus, I can say that it adds volume to the market. Therefore, there will always be diversity in the market.

There were people who made huge profits from the coins you mentioned. Investing in these coins is quite risky, but still always preferred. I think we are talking about a situation that will always exist in this market.
I'm investing in Bitcoin and a few altcoins and I've been doing this for many years which has no problem. The reason why many people have lost their money is due to investing in new projects that are scams. Because if they only Invest in Bitcoin and in reliable altcoins, I'm sure they never suffer losses but profit. Unfortunately, due to temptation and hype, many have been falling into scam projects and then putting the blame on the market which in fact, was their fault.
827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino is a Games of Chance and Entertainment on: October 05, 2023, 02:51:31 PM
Yes but blockchain casinos provide unique transparency by utilizing smart contracts that lock in the casino's take percentage, ensuring guaranteed fairness for all players. It's an innovative approach to gambling that aims to make operations clearer and fairer for everyone."

Remember that any discussion or encouragement of gambling should be conducted responsibly and in compliance with local laws and guidelines regarding gaming.

Yes, it's innovative, and I've seen some projects on decentralized casinos. However, based on my observations, I think gamblers are not attracted to them; they are still sticking with the conventional way as it's easier and more popular among gamblers. Maybe in the future, but I don't know how high the probability is since it didn't become very popular when introduced.
828  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do I need a mentor in my bitcoin journey. on: October 05, 2023, 02:07:53 PM
It's not necessary but having a mentor when you are learning something new will definitely accelerate your studies. However, finding a good mentor that wiling to share their knowledge is quite hard, in any field of knowledge, especially Bitcoin which is fairly new stuff. Some people might refuse to become a mentor not because they are arrogant, but because they feel like they are still lack of the knowledge even though they already know much, and with new technology like Bitcoin it will more likely to happened. Even if you can't find any mentor you could still learn so much about Bitcoin in this forum.
I'd learn about Bitcoin through searches and learn more when doing it in actuality. We can have someone to teach us but still, we have to do more searches as well rather than relying on that person because you are right, that person never knows everything about Bitcoin yet, he is still learning more.
If we are going to learn about Bitcoin and succeed in our journey OP, we must also be willing to spend time and go along the learning process. We can't make it a shortcut.
829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to invest AI coins? on: October 05, 2023, 01:26:13 PM
Ico, ieo, defi, meme, nft and so many altcoin trend came,  created hype and then end. I notice, when a new trend start, then trend Related new altcoins are getting lots of investor and become profitable! And seeing such success ratio, scammers also launch their token and destroy the trend and hype with scam. Now Ai coins are in trend. FET, AGIX and OCEAN are suppose to be good for investment. What do you Think? Time to invest AI coins or you avoid?
I won't say they are not good investments but must take caution with them and never hold these coins longer if ever you invested. Because you are right, they will never stay long but end up shortly. This is a big problem in hyped projects and holding them could be a reason for our losses as well that is why we must sell them before the hype is over. Yes, we can't simply ignore scam project a reason why research really matter before investing with them.
830  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are Technical Indicators useless? on: October 05, 2023, 12:56:06 PM
Maybe Yes or No because that will depend on the trader who uses this and what kind of strategy they've been using as it syncs with what they are doing, and of course, on how they analyze the market momentum.

Well, I would say that it was very useful to my trading journey now but not before. Why? Because TA can't be made right and ready, and it is hard to analyze the situation if you are lack of knowledge. This is what I mean and it varies on the capability of the trader. Some got is right and useful, some had also seen this as useless.
831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Subriel Matias vs. S. Ergashev (IBF jr. welterweight title) Nov. 4: Las Vegas on: October 05, 2023, 09:01:57 AM
I'm not so familiar with the boxer, but Jr. Welterweight or Super Lightweight is a division where we have other champions with popular names.

WBC - Regis Prograis
WBA - Rolando Romero
WBO - Teofimo Lopez

I can't determine the ranking of the champions, but among the four, I think Matias is the least popular. Anyway, it's still a great fight since it's a championship fight. Hopefully, next time, we will see a unification fight.
832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 05, 2023, 06:48:28 AM
I'll call the chance now 50/50, considering Gilas fell to Jordan during their first meeting. However, winning against the heavy favorite to win the championship would certainly give Gilas enormous confidence going into the Finals. Jordan should not be complacent, as the Philippines has overflowing confidence; they will play hard to win the gold as they want to continue making history.

Actually, by reaching the Finals, the Philippines has already made history, but we are not content with that; we need to win the Finals.

Go GILAS!

Yes, 1962 was the last time the Philippines won a gold medal in Asian Games basketball, held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Winning against China feels like winning the championship in this tournament. Just imagine playing against the host country. Hopefully, they will still give their best against Jordan in the Finals.
That was a long time ago, but now we have a chance, and we shouldn't waste it. No matter what the outcome is, I'm sure the fans are already proud of what Gilas has achieved. Getting to the Finals is not easy; we beat our strong rivals, Iran and China. Now, it's time for revenge. Watch out, Jordan!

Just in case Justin Brownlee played in the FIBA World Cup in the last tournament instead of Jordan Clarkson, do you think the outcome for Gilas would have been different or better?
I don't know; I think there's no major problem with the players. It's obviously the coach.
833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My regret for not adopting bitcoin earlier. on: October 04, 2023, 09:51:24 PM
Many people come to know about the bitcoin at the initial stage, because it was spread like the asset at the first.Like the stock market bitcoin was considered to be the digital assets. But many people think like the scam at the beginning. Many people including yourself not accepted the bitcoin as an asset in 2013.So you had missed the biggest opportunity to by the most valuable asset for now as compared to the biggest stock in the world at low price.Still it’s not the huge delay to adapt to the bitcoin before the 2024 pump.
Trus and Information seems to be the reason why many people never saw Bitcoin as a valuable asset 10 years ago. Yes, too many blame themselves for not knowing it but the opportunity is still there. Well, I could say that investing today is quite late but still we have the chance. In fact, the volatility and market corrections seem to be the way to enter the market but sadly, some people never take this opportunity, they even wait for the dip. The funny thing is that even though we have this opportunity already, doubts are still on their minds.
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 04, 2023, 03:54:50 PM

What's wrong with Butler? If I'm not mistaken, he's had a normal style throughout his NBA career, especially when he was with the Bulls. But in recent seasons, there's something wrong with him because he's been dramatically experimenting with changing his hairstyle. Is it because of the losses in the finals series?
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Butler looked like Cousin Itt from the Addams Family next season. Grin

I believe he is doing it now like a tradition since last year is hilarious and everybody loves his shot. I was skeptical at first seeing his picture on the leaderboard stats last year which I thought there’s just a mistake now it confirms that he is just trolling his photo shoot.

This might be his tradition now just like Westbrook before which showing off during his weird sense of fashion. I thought he is from the my chemical romance the first time I saw his pics on social media without reading the caption.  Cheesy

Whatever his intention, he succeeded in gaining the attention of the fans because of his hairstyle, reminiscent of Rihanna's. Anyway, that media day is good as it gives us a thrill and a feeling that the NBA will be back soon. The Heat did not make significant changes to their lineup; they'll remain underrated, but this team is still one to watch.

Of course, we were excited about the moves of the Bucks, as Lillard was supposed to be going to the Heat, yet it didn't happen. Also, regarding Boston, they made a major move by adding two star players to the roster, namely Holiday and Porzingis, so let's see how their chemistry will blend.
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: October 04, 2023, 03:13:09 PM
Well, with that profit I guess I'll be able to recover on it. I mean, I think Garcia isn't aiming to be undefeated and besides that's a lesson he may take until he fight against Duarte and that's a huge motivation.
He enjoyed the biggest fight of his career in terms of money, it's just unfortunate that he lose the fight.

Quote
Ryan Garcia has disclosed that his mega-fight against Gervonta Davis on April 22 amassed over $100 million in revenue. Garcia's manager, Oscar De La Hoya, announced that an impressive $30 million of that revenue was Garcia's purse.

source of information

Too young tbh and more fight to conquer. I don't think it's a downgrade of a match, his opponent only lost once as well in his career and has more fights than him, I mean it could be an edge for a boxer but that depends on their ring IQ I guess as well.

Maybe 'downgrade' is not the right term, but still, Ryan Garcia is more popular than his opponent, so fans might think this would be an easy match for him. And in terms of the quality of opponents, I believe Ryan Garcia has faced better-quality opponents that he has beaten, not including Davis, of course.
836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 04, 2023, 02:20:19 PM
The Philippines is having a good run in the 4th quarter, and the lead of China is now trimmed to single digit. But another bad miss by Thompson, 2 FTs that were missed. Hopefully, this will not haunt him again in case Gilas will fail. But there's still more time, time to correct the mistake and continue the momentum to win. Good luck, Gilas.

Score now is 67-76.

Final score 77-76, Gilas going to the Finals, congrats and thanks to Brownlee for his clutch 3 point shots.

Wow, Justine Brownlee is the savior of them all, what a ball game.

When the score read 76-67, I stopped watching the game as i thought that was it for the Gilas but when i came back to watched the final score, wow, i couldn't be believed what i saw, Gilas won by a point and we are going to the finals against Jordan.

Wow, just wow.

The Philippines is rejoicing now. China was the heavy favorite, but we believe Gilas has a chance of winning. It turns out it was a huge upset, and Justin Brownlee really showed how special he is. I'm wondering why he wasn't in the NBA. I think he truly is a great player, a real superstar who knows how to finish the game.

With this performance by Brownlee, I think Ginebra is going to be unbeatable. (Sorry, a bit off-topic.)
837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do I need to Trade My Coin on: October 04, 2023, 07:38:12 AM
Whether you like it or not, you must know trading in the future unless you keep holding and have no plan to sell them. Because even if it was just simply buying low and selling high, still we must know simple trading.

And asking the question of whether we have to trade our coin or not. Perhaps, you need it because that is the only way to earn money from here. That is why never invest in crypto if you don't have knowledge about trading. Many people make mistakes about this as it must because nobody will buy your coin if you don't trade them either.
838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 7 ways to earn free cryptocurrency on: October 03, 2023, 10:36:29 PM
Free crypto seemed reliable before and many people are getting huge rewards from participating in airdrops and bounties but now, that is uncertain. Why? They said it is free but must comply with a certain task which is really hard to accomplish and still wastes your time.
Now, if we think about making money, therefore, we also have to spend money to invest and stop relying on these free promotions as they only disappoint us. Think about that there is NO FREE now, nobody gives us money freely without doing something.
839  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is a 20% Annual Return good ? on: October 03, 2023, 10:08:08 PM
With my experience in the cryptocurrency market, I decided to develop a short-term Bitcoin spot trading strategy using the TradingView platform and its strategy programming tool. I managed to create a strategy that yields an average annual return of 20% according to backtesting. My question is, is this return acceptable, or in your opinion, what would be an acceptable or good return?
It is more than enough, in fact, banks can never offer such an amount but can be possible in crypto. As long as you are consistent in your strategy, that certainly works and it can be more especially when the market is moving high. If we have to do this, must still apply the strategy of buying low as I doubt that this will work during the bear season.

As long as we can hold and wait patiently until the price goes high before selling, we can really make a profit from our investment. But if we are impatient, I was certain that it will fail.
840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 95% of NFTs have a market cap of zero on: October 02, 2023, 09:42:35 PM
NFT's hype is over and they are generally over as well. We can no longer expect them to grow but instead of seeing them dying because they are at our disposal, investors never see them as valuable anymore.

Just like ICO and IEO, after having their great moments, they started to decline and heard nothing. As we saw in NFT's situation, it is just the same trend and we know that is hard to expect projects that have no use case to sustain and stay long in the crypto space but rather see them gone.
