821  Other / Meta / Re: Are members of sig ad campaigns only banned or other members as well are banned? on: May 04, 2015, 07:00:39 PM
I've been in various sig campaigns, on and off, and I've also caught the odd temporary ban. The bans I got I also deserved, basically they happened because I was drunk and being either nonsensical or threatening. Basically drunk stuff... Lesson learned!
The thing about people who post one word replies, stuff like "lol right" or just an emoji is; they are really cheating themselves. If the only thing you ever had to say was "lol" in conversation you would find pretty quick that no one wants to talk to you. Same principal works here. It's a conversation not a graffiti wall, give and take.
As for the mods and their decisions...it's their party. They can kick anyone they like, for whatever reason, but they tend to stick to the rules when deciding.
Bitcointalk is a public place, it takes all types. When someone has nothing to say yet insists on saying it anyway, just ignore them and move on. Part of the "art" of conversation is the etiquette. If others have none that doesn't mean you should drop yours as well. Rise above.

(I'm really surprised at how much trouble people have with this!)

I have had similar problem using multibit. Simply "reset blockchain" and it should be fine.
823  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-05-01] CD: Hollywood Studio Lionsgate Films in Talks to Accept Bitcoin on: May 03, 2015, 09:50:02 PM
The thing is, they deal in digital property...movies. The blockchain has untapped potential for offering proof of ownership for digital goods. I have been waiting for progress in this area. Also, it could represent billions in transactions.

825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Satanic Temple of Detroit now accepts BTC Donations on: May 01, 2015, 04:01:23 AM
I would hope the primary goal of Satanism is to show the Christian church up for the corrupt hypocritical scam that it is. Mission accomplished, they seem to be doing a pretty good job of that! Satanists don't need any help. the problem is taking care of itself, wouldn't you think?
826  Economy / Securities / Re: Airport Car Park Investment - Colored Coin IPO [Monthly Dividend] on: April 28, 2015, 07:43:10 PM
dude, your website is a malicious attack site, according to my virus software. That doesn't have anything to do with SSL, it only pops up that warning on attack sites.

there are too many red flags on this offering for me to do anything more than ignore it. Not that I'm about to put another cent into anything i see here.

anyways...carry on. I'll check back to see the outraged investors crying foul in a month or two.
827  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Price Is Right on: April 27, 2015, 12:04:53 PM
It is a little known fact that the iconic theme music "come on down" from The Price Is Right, was written by Canadian female; Crystal Waters
828  Other / Meta / Re: How 'bout A Faucet Thread? on: April 27, 2015, 11:55:25 AM
No, maybe I am doing it wrong.

I meant to create a stickied thread where ALL the faucet touts can dump their links.
Kinda like a toilet, or a the bucket where a pathologist dumps excised tumours...
829  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 27, 2015, 11:48:03 AM
So many pages here. I do recall some BoD coming on here and saying they are kept in the dark. They were implying that the AM BoD is a shadow puppet? It was only there to make AM seem legit?
Seems like a puppet organization, a diversionary tactic
830  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: April 27, 2015, 11:41:19 AM
& who can be sure Ken even had any ACTM IPO btc on bitfunder when that all happened, anyway? as I recall, when bitfunder tanked and money got lost it was the first any of us had heard about it. I seem to recall accusing the tool of gambling with company funds and he comes back with "when btc hits $10k use we shall be golden"
It was already too late to do anything but laugh by then
831  Economy / Speculation / Bummer (just that!) on: April 27, 2015, 07:54:14 AM
read title.
is it a death sentence or merely the giant resting whilst he prepares to awake(n)?
832  Other / Meta / How 'bout A Faucet Thread? on: April 27, 2015, 07:51:16 AM
am I doing it right?
put all your faucet dreams and wishes in here.
833  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 26, 2015, 11:49:28 AM
Yeah
The absolute silence from the board is a little weird, in fact their whole role seemed a little hoary. Didn't a few leave the board precisely because they felt left in the dark?
834  Economy / Securities / Re: Airport Car Park Investment - Colored Coin IPO [Monthly Dividend] on: April 25, 2015, 10:24:19 AM
hmmmm... www . equitylandlord . com is a malicious attack website, blocked by my malwarebytes software instantly.

c'mon man. Its bad enough that every security in here is a lost cause, now the scammers can't even bother to put in a little effort.

This sub has really gone to shit.

The mods should just turn it into the "bitcoin faucet area" and force every faucet announcement to post in "securities" from now on.

They'd be doing everyone a favor. much more profitable game, those faucets

835  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2015-04-24 Empeopled - Gallery Using BTC To Tranfer Ownership of Artwork on: April 25, 2015, 06:42:03 AM
Yes Vienna uses a very similar funding model to promote the arts as many countries, USA, Canada, Australia to name a few "arm's length peer juried assement" is the system used to decide who gets what. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arm%27s_length_principle
I know that Canada where I live allocates millions yearly to artists and arts institutions. I'm sure Vienna hands out much more. The national endowment for the arts (USA) must be huge.
This type of funded art will always be niche but significant $ moves around and this blockchain solution solves problems of authentication as well as transferring value. A good fit plus artist can be very forward thinking. They are traditionally the propagandists in our society.
836  Bitcoin / Press / 2015-04-24 Empeopled - Gallery Using BTC To Tranfer Ownership of Artwork on: April 25, 2015, 04:49:06 AM
https://empeopled.com/p/37414?invitedby=deadturtle

Title is a bit off, basically ownership rights and provenance of digital artwork is sent through blockchain. The included press release says it all. As a practicing artist I must say this could be big news in this area. Also, this is apparently an Important European Contemporary Art gallery

If Ken isn't talking to his lawyer, I wonder if he's still in the country or just took the cash and split.

these kind of white collar criminals have a game plan, and it is like this; avoid the fines and hide your money until the cops come to get you then cry "but I'm bankrupt! Sorry guis, no monies!" then take the 2 months in jail out of a 5 year sentence. Pretty good return for 2 months work. and jail is the only work he will ever have actually done regarding this waterlogged ball of syphilitic turd known as ACTM
839  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: WikiScams :: Information about Bitcoin and crypto scams on: April 24, 2015, 07:52:31 AM
I just found this thread and see you are down for maintenance  Cry
Too bad cuz I like this idea! I'm hoping it is full of hyperlinks regarding type of scam and how these scams operate. You might even find existing wikis to link to ( or maybe you want all OC?) either way I am looking forward to seeing and possibly contributing. I've been burned badly over the last year or so thanks to various scumbags in the securities section  Tongue There are actions ongoing regarding a few of these guys, so I don't know your policy regarding bullshit securities offerings that haven't been tried in court yet. It could put a risk of liable or get you a "cease & desist" order, no? Maybe get your server in trouble?
How are you proposing to deal with that anyway? Like some secure drop box? IDK, just asking.
Excited to see this wiki up n runnin though, keep up the good work
840  Economy / Goods / [WTS] iPod Classic 6th gen 160gb on: April 24, 2015, 05:59:32 AM
hi
I've got an ipod classic 6th generation 160 gigabyte to sell. It works perfectly and is even loaded with a wide array of hard to find mp3s (Black Metal, Library, early electronics and radiophonics, minimal wave, freakbeat/garage punk, dub reggae ska italo disco prog rock power electronics godzilla soundtracks... all over the map here  Wink )

I have rarely taken out of my house, it sat on top of my stereo or next to my comp for the whole time i've used it since buying it new a few years ago. I have a 1T NAS and a Sonos system now so I don't need it anymore. unfortunately i cant find the box, but i'll keep looking...

it is dark matte grey and has a few scratches but still pretty new looking, I will also include the power cord I use, its a rocket-fish, not the original mac cord which was garbage anyway)

These 160gb models have been discontinued and are coveted by DJ's as they hold about 2 years worth of music.

I want 1.05 BTC, including shipping from canada, for this baby, OBO, and will arrange escrow with a trusted member service that we can both agree on.

if you live near by the price can go way down, but international registered mail can be costly...

PM me if interested or for more info/photos.

thanks
