Because I was testing to see how the wallet behaves on different hardware with different configurations and see if one crashed more often than the other and to test for forking!

You need to learn to read English! The boincdatadir and boincappdir are optional commands, they are not necessary! And NO you do not need to have wallet on every computer that is running Boinc! The only thing that has to be the same is the email you use to register for Boinc projects!

I've quoted it wrong. I'm not talking about boincdatadir and boincappdir.

I'm just curious, why did you told, that I need just one wallet,
and you are running few. This is the main thing I'd like to know.
No offense.

I have several wallets on different rigs, not multiple on 1 rig!

You technically don't need those lines, all you need is the email="your boinc email", but one of of my rigs once i added the boincappdir and boincdatadir that particular wallet started getting POR blocks, maybe it was coincidence.

So, you are saying, that you are running multiple wallets?

you told me something different,

are you  making jokes of us or what?

No response so far! Would be nice if Grey posted a more detailed explanation of what they are trying to do.

So far no reply!
Let me know if it goes through/he responds. I'm pretty sure I sent him an email to that address and it got kicked back. I could be wrong though.

He usually takes few days to respond.

boincdatadir

is it boincdatadir or boincdatafolder?
827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: October 26, 2014, 04:42:23 PM
Alicea, I am not the developer of Gridcoin! Rob is!

You technically don't need those lines, all you need is the email="your boinc email", but one of of my rigs once i added the boincappdir and boincdatadir that particular wallet started getting POR blocks, maybe it was coincidence.

Right now there is some fork issues that need to be fixed, so till we fix that you should stay away for now!
A clear statement! Finally Smiley
I hope that you fix it.

FRIENDLY TIP!!!!

One of my rigs was getting many interest payments , but not many POR blocks and I could not figure out what the problem was. It turns out that I had Boinc installed in a different directory than the the default Boinc install dir. So if your Boinc is installed in a non-default dir you have to specify this in your gridcoinresearch.conf file.

boincappdir="where you installed Boinc"
boincdatadir="where the Boinc data fold is located"

After I made the change I started getting POR blocks. I think what is happening is that if the GRC wallet can't see your stats you are classified as an "INVESTOR" and you are only awarded the interest! So once you specify to the wallet where your Boinc data is, the wallet can then see your work and give you appropriate credit for the POR block!

What to put in boincappdir and boincdatadir if the machines running boinc are NOT the laptop where the wallet is?

I still have "all CPU projects exhausted" ... since 3 days. BOINC is running and made a lot of work... RAC should be no problem

This is my config:

cpumining=true
email= *email*
UpdatingLeaderboard=false

Any ideas...sorry I´m a "semi noob"   ;-)

another question: in boinc there is only 3 of 4 cards are calculte, 4th card just staying without task. Is it possible to make all 4 cards working? And what i should do that task comes more difficult? I think this is no good for card when gpu load jumping from 0 to 100 percent several times in one minute http://joxi.ru/XYmE85kRhNK4r6 Thanks
How did you make your cards work?
How traderman said, this is very important what kind of team are you chose, because some teams dont support ati\nvidia cards

while choosing a project, I'm looking if it has ati's logo... Now I'm contributing CPUs only. The team, well, I change between 2 of them only: gridcoin or researchsupportcoin... now I see new version of GRC wallet, that has problems syncing, so I'm in RSC team again. version 3.1.6.8 - or there's a newer one?
RSC is better because it's sure that you receive your coins. And GRC's PoR is not so sure, because it's not very clear when you get the coins, how much of them, and you loose what you've earned at each wallet upgrade.

What kind of gpu and what kind of boinc projects?

How did you make your cards work? I have the problem that my GPUs don't work for boinc. I'm using them for mining, as before, but I'd really like to switch one or two of them to useful computations. I've asked here and there, read a lot, and tested everything I've found.

The developer for Gridcoin does not post on Bitcointalk, you will have to make an acc here:
 https://cryptocointalk.com/forum/464-gridcoin-grc/
I'm on 3.1.6.6, but still:

Maybe try different drivers, I think some Boinc projects do this kind of thing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BOINC_Credit_System

what exactly is RAC? where can I find it

What is the RAC on your projects? can you list them?

When you signup with a boinc project through the boinc software use that particular email(same email for all project that you sign up with), that is all, you don't have to do anything else. The gridcoin wallet software can detect automatically how much credits you have for each project based on the email.

I am assuming you are running the POR GRC?
You have to edit your gridcoinresearch.conf in appdata/roaming/gridcoinresearch

email="your boinc email"
rpcport=9334
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
addnode=node.gridcoin.us

I downloaded the wallet but it is not doing the sync... I have to do some things before?

wallet is synced now...thanks

in the gridcoinresearch.conf my email is now listed.
I dont really understand how to add my projects in the gridcoinresearch.conf
what should I add to add malariacontrol.net

thx
does this take some time?
"All CPU Projects exhaustetd" is written.... Do I have to wait or do I have to do something.  Thx

The exchanges will not do anything, YOU HAVE TO BURN THE COINS YOURSELF!

some people are still somehow confused.

Is Poloniex and c-cex changing our current classic coins which are on the exchanges into  the new new GRC research automatically, after they have received the new stable Wallet?

does the User needs to do anything?
836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: October 23, 2014, 09:54:55 PM
Go here, some people posted their node ips: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1331-new-coin-launch-announcement-grc-gridcoin/

Where can I find an updated list of active nodes?
I've got troubles syncing with just node.gridcoin.us (or the addnodes I've found around in the thread).

Rob will make as many Upgrades as necessary to get everything perfect before we give the new wallet to the exchanges!

Mandatory Upgrade - Please upgrade immediately
Gridcoin Research 6.2/3.1.6.6:

You should consider PoC (Proof of Compilation) if you plan to carry on with everyday's wallet upgrades LOL.

Decentralized exchanges are desperately needed in the crypto world right about now! After gox and countless others, it is about damn time!

From version 3.1.6.5 going forward, Newbie stakeweight boosted to 100k for the first 9 PoR blocks!!! So if you are newbie and don't have many GRC you will be given a nice boost for the first 9 blocks to get you started!! Smiley
