841  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bubble incoming! $3800 - $4000 expected on: June 17, 2014, 12:17:00 PM
I have a corollary event to this but I would be called a permabear.
842  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is just a matter of time on: June 17, 2014, 11:12:24 AM
The global collapse of fiat will make Bitcoin a "mainstream choice" for people seeking better options.
It is just a matter of time.  Smiley
Do not smile over a global collapse. If such a thing happens, everyone will suffer very bad and the LAST thing you will worry about is bitcoin or investments or money. You will be thinking of how to survive, what you are going to eat, and how many bullets you have left in your gun to fend off all of the attackers. Bitcoin will probably crash too once the world is in complete chaos, not rally. This is because all the channels to inject fiat will be broken except direct hand to hand barter, and I find it highly unlikely that suddenly Bitcoin will become a barter tool during global chaos when it was not already. Also it will require people have access to technology and the internet, which will also become unlikely. So it will become worthless.  Be careful what you wish for. So maybe there this small chance you bitcoins gain some value while your house is being burned and your friends are being killed by looters. It disgusts me that there is a smiley face attached to such a thing.

TERA we spot you. Go create another account, this one is broken baby.
Actually I keep coming up with the solution to simply stop posting here,  since I spend all this time doing all this free TA and analysis only to be ridiculed and trolled. I've left a few times now. However, I can't seem to stick with it for more than a week. What usually ends up happening is come here just with the intent of reading whatever news is going on during a big movement and then some thread compels me to respond to it and I get caught up with this again.

If paypal start using bitcoin we'd shoot beyond that target and perhaps see the s curve max out as explained here:

Oh I like this guy. Look guys this is the new bull, and you are all bears.  The 1000% per year trend that everyone believes in isn't even good enough for him. Bitcoin is going to exceed that and start increasing 5000% per year. Now anyone that still believes in ONLY a 1000% gain per year is a BEAR.
The thing is you claim to be bull, just not making ridiculously optimistic projections. But instead you always think bitcoin is going to crash.  This is not a case of you being less bullish than everyone else - it is more than that: you are a bear  Grin
Most of these statements are false.

This forum is full of idiots. I post about how in the worst case scenario, we're still up in a year from now before a super exponential rise, and that long term holding is a good strategy. Then I'm called bearish. BEARISH! I post charts that literally have two paths both of which end up on the moon, but that's not good enough. Anything that is not going to the moon right now is bearish. Who cares about gaining a base of support. Everything has to now, fast, right now, or it's bearish. Chop chop! Like a bunch of drug addicts that need their fix.
847  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bubble incoming! $3800 - $4000 expected on: June 17, 2014, 04:24:19 AM
I think Bitcoin is fascinating and has good potential long term. However, if you want the complete reasons why I am starting to feel somewhat bearish in the short term, the reasons lie entirely in this chart.  Don't focus too much on refuting any one thing because there are about 8 things.

848  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bubble incoming! $3800 - $4000 expected on: June 17, 2014, 03:51:17 AM
I could use the RSI to point out some really bearish things too. I'll make a thread on that later.

You're such a giant Bitcoin bear that it makes me wonder why you're ever on these forums. It's one thing to be skeptical or to see/know that there will indeed be bad days for bitcoin (and any other potential investment or hobby out there), but I haven't ever noticed 1 hopeful or positive comment about bitcoin from you ever. Now I haven't gone through and looked at all your posting history, so there may be some in there somewhere, but I'd wager that they are few and far between.

With that being said, is bitcoin an investment to you? A hobby? An Interest? And if it is of any interest to you at all, why is it always in a negative light? Do you hate all of your hobbies?

I'm not raging on you or anything, just very curious as to your continued negativity and yet persistent activity in regards in bitcoin.

I'm not a bear. I just point out some TA which indicates that there is a chance that the next rally could possibly in a year from now rather than right now. However, in either case if you hold long term, you will profit massively. That is not bearish.

I think you have me mixed up with some other bears/trolls on here like Fonzie. My posts are not really that bearish and some of them are even bullish.  I mostly correct people who improperly use TA or emotionally assert things that are not absolutes. Extrapolating and recognizing simple patterns are not real forms of TA. Patterns occur all over the charts but often do not continue.  Yet people use this pseudo-TA all the time on here while ignoring real TA which points in the opposite direction.

Everyone knows bitcoin is a honey badger, not a person.
850  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is just a matter of time on: June 17, 2014, 03:43:18 AM
Bitcoin will not be mainstream because:

1.) The common person highly prefers to use a sovereign-backed currency.

2.) The common person prefers to use a currency that they can hold physically and barter with without using a device or the internet.

3.) The common person is in poverty, lives paycheck to paycheck and uses debt to pay for everything.

4.) Businesses need a highly stable unit of account to conduct trade, manage finances, and integrate with other businesses, even if this stability involves a gradual decline of a few percent per year.  The few percent decline for year is extremely stable compared to bitcoin's volatility.

5.) The technology is too new and unproven to have too much trust put into by the bigger money. It's certainly too risky for the world's finances to hinge on and there are many technical questions that have been left unanswered.

That isn't to say there isn't a lot of room to grow from here though.

852  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: All my coins are belong to Coinbase. on: June 17, 2014, 03:30:00 AM
My speculation is that Coinbase doesn't execute all of its customers orders in real time on an exchange but rather in a batch process where they buy all of the coins at one point in the day or at intervals during the day.  If the average price that a customer bought at is below the price that their batch needs to execute at, then they are in the hole and have to selectively remove some of the lower buyers to balance the equation. In addition, they may be interested in making a profit so they remove even more low buyers.

All this G.Hash business shows is that the community can come together and fix/create solutions.  The longer bitcoin survives the more competition, and strength it shows.

BULLISH AS FUCK
Ghash situation is not bullish. I see that no action has been taken to improve the protocol so that such a thing doesn't happen anymore. It is getting swept under the rug again. It's like nobody wants to write code anymore.
854  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 16, 2014, 12:27:08 PM
This coming from the guy who analyzes charts and daytrades more than anyone lol.
I know that I'm a trader but I acknowledge that Bitcoin is about much more than trading. Underdog on the other hand, makes posts implying that every other bitcoin participant is a trader so everyone who is selling is doing so out of a weak trading strategy.
855  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 16, 2014, 12:21:20 PM

What is a 'weak hand'? Why is this type of penny stock terminology used in bitcoin? Does this imply that bitcoin is some type of investment scheme to hold rather than a currency to use?
It's a poker term long before "penny stocks." It means you lack confidence in you ability to play.
So it's a profit making game and not the future of money?
Is money not about profit?
Bitcoin is supposed to be about creating a decentralized network to change the way the world does finance and payments - not about getting all the bitcoin participants to be rich off of the successive waves of bitcoin participants because the unit value rose and having a contest about who made the most profits.

I think it will be hard to pass the 680s.looks like that is a magical barrier because most people bought there and now try to get out without a loss because they lost trust in btc.

It makes sense. The ones with no trust in btc are weak hands and will fail to hold.

858  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who wishes they had bought bitcoin when it was $540 or so? on: June 16, 2014, 11:50:35 AM
I don't get this thread. It was written before the latest dip and during the rally to $680,  so it should read:  "Who wishes they had bought bitcoin when it was $450 or so"?
859  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 16, 2014, 10:05:43 AM
That was odd. It slowly dropped to 600 then suddenly to 607 and then right back too 600. Weird spike.

Don't you think its manipulation, some trying to manipulate in short range.
It's just normal trading in a thin book area. People are buying and selling and some of the buyers don't really care about a 1% price premium. Not everyone is a daytrader.
860  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is just a matter of time on: June 16, 2014, 08:50:34 AM
People forget how easy it would be for the government to put a serious quash on Bitcoin by telling businesses they are banned from collecting it (Coinbase or directly) which will kill mass acceptance. You're not out of the woods yet.
Don't even bother. People around here are religious in believing that bitcoin is a rapture which will suceed and become huge no matter what and they can't see past their ideals to listen to any kind of rational argument. All you're going to accomplish with these kind of posts is you are going to get run over by bulls, especially when the price starts rallying again.
