Why does BTC-e.com display "USE EMAIL TO LOGIN, NOT YOUR ACCOUNT NAME" atm?
Is this normal?
indeed very strange. looks like they have changed their login procedure.. but dont knwo why? I did not verify E-Mail. Only have very few LTC there. Even if I could login I would not do it at the moment. Maybe I'm paranoid: But could the site been hacked/defaced to obtain E-Mail addresses?

Yeah.
Maybe we need an even more catastrophic event at Mt.Gox before people start to rethink using it.
Wiping out a BILLION DOLLARS wasn't enough for you? I do not use Mt.Gox. But I doubt it will be enough for the majority of users.

Because there's a feedback loop:
Existing volume creates a good environment for trading, which attracts volume. It's a virtuous cycle that is only broken when they fuck up (more and more, as the volume increases).
There's a lot of 'inertia" from people who are not willing to try another exchange because of the hassle of verification and signup (weeks), wire transfers (weeks) etc.
Which is why people need to use this opportunity to STAY ANGRY and remember why they are angry. Use that anger to motivate them to sign up to new exchanges today. So that next time this happens (and it will, sooner rather than later), they can dump gox.
Yeah. Maybe we need an even more catastrophic event at Mt.Gox before people start to rethink using it.

I don't see an imperative connection between helping the poor and donating to a specific religious group.

What I do not understand from a rational perspective (well, I can understand this from a mass psychological one):
It's a free market. Why does everyone use Mt.Gox? There are quite a few alternatives.

Maybe OP = attention whore ? It's sad that the BTC community gets stalked by people of such childish demeanor.

Yep many people say that. My point is that Bitcoin will be successful on its own ground and NOT because of some marketing BS and gimmicks. People will figure out how to call things, no need for marketing BS.
+1 You should tell that the guys at The Bitcoin Foundation.

Can't believe this is happening! Great news for Bitcoin.

It will stop when people will say "no, I will not pay that much for a bitcoin".
And that will never happen. We will buy mBTC and then whatever next. 1BTC 0.1BTC 0.001BTC 0.0001BTC, we will be buying all of that until we can't because we run out of money. And after that we start trading our organs for Satoshis.

That's the result of the Bitcoin mass media frenzy.
Correction will come inevitably. The only question is at what pricing it'll start.
I predict at least 80% value correction when this happens.

So we can go about 10x higher before hitting the Bieber peak? Bullish to me xD
New BTC indicator: The Bieber peak. X: "Bitcoin just passed the Bieber peak!" Crowd: "OMG! It's real! Strong buy!"

Okay guys, I'm a hyper-bull, but I'm feeling some euphoria here. It is simply a fact that growth will slow very soon (else we'd be at mainstream adoption by summer, and we all know the infrastructure simply isn't ready for that).
We can keep going up at staggering speeds on average, long-term, but if the exponential doesn't curve straighter again soon I may have to part with 5% - for the first time ever - just in case there's a big correction (almost definitely temporary, but still). I'd just be doing my part to smooth any panic drop that might happen. If we can slow down just a tad that would be perfect.
Bubble-o-meter was at 15% last week, now 25%. Time to start being just a little cautious, just a little suspicious of your premises. Check everything once again with no emotion. Are all the exponential indicators still there? I still expect us to hit at least $300 (or even $500 or possibly $1,000) before a cooldown.
The mood here has remained collected and cool up to just this week or so, even through such dramatic increases. That was very bullish. Now it just might be changing. I'm not saying it is for sure, but watch sentiment closely.
There will quite certainly be a price exaggeration with a violent drop. I hope this will happen soon to shy away the get-rich-quick-guys who still measure BTC only in $$$ value. So please don't try to smooth the coming panic drop, because a brutal selloff with scared speculators will give the Bitconomy some more months to calmly develop and catch up with pricing.

Bitcoin like Justin Bieber?
Not quite yet:
*Pic*
I've never seen it that way. I think we can all agree that Bitcoin is a more important than Beiber though, right? Right? At least Bitcoin has some utility.

Many people just figured out that the best way to get bitcoin is not to mess with insane mtgox but to provide goods and services with payment in Bitcoin. This is a nobrainer. Look at reddit, tehre is constant stream of announcements that this service and that service are now accepting Bitcoin. This trend is going only to accelerate. This is real economy that backs Bitcoin growing fast.
Expect much higher prices for Bitcoin as result. 1000$ is just about 2 double ups from here. Bitcoin is known to do such spurts within 3-5 weeks.
It is a shark feeding frenzy, only sharks will be left with non trivial amounts of bitcoins once it all calms down for a while. Are you a shark?
I think this is true, and on the other side we now have a bunch of new millionaires whose wealth is in bitcoins, they are going to want to start spending. I believe selling luxury goods for btc is where its at I don't know if these new millionaires are likely to buy luxury goods. It's clear however that with increasing BTC wealth they are more likely to diversify / spend some of it. This is good for the whole market.

the annual rate of deflation?
I guess I should clarify: In relation to the dollar. Obviously the dollar inflates at least 3 % or something per year. So that means bitcoin would appear to at least deflate 3% per year (not including growth) right?
Very simple: Assuming that bitcoin stabilized in value its deflation rate measured in dollar is dependent on the dollar printing activity of the FED minus the known annual bitcoin mining rate at that time. The dollar printing activity of the FED is totally dependent on future monetary policy. Imho it makes no sense to measure Bitcoin deflation/inflation in relation to USD or any other state-controlled currency. Better use wheat, sugar, milk, or precious metals.

I do not see Ripple succeed in mainstream. Its IOU-feature is only interesting for a limited group of people. In addition the concept is much to complicated. Ripple is no threat to Bitcoin. Bitcoin has gained properties both of a commodity and of a currency. Ripple is only an exchange-facilitator (some more advanced Paypal-clone). Conclusion: Use Ripple to buy Bitcoins.
