Since we're arguing about the definition of pizza, there were opinions that we should have meat on pizza, that such meat should be on the outside, that pizza should be round and it should have tomato sauce and cheese on it, so without further ado, here's a pizza con patate.

842  Economy / Speculation / Re: One Bitcoin May Be Worth $1 Billion by 2038, Fidelity Says on: May 31, 2023, 08:12:04 PM

They're all just hyping it. Although they also believe BTC to be a rise-only in the long period of time. They all fail to predict the exact price and this $1B is way too much.

We're gonna be shouting for joy already even if the price hit $100k months after halving. And institutions like Fidelity will already be ready for the next years of bears.

It's always the same. People who could buy now are waiting for 12k because some dumb analysts are still standing by their predictions, but if we fall to 12k they'll be in such a state of panic that they won't buy anything. They also won't buy now because they'll need a strong confirmation the bull market has started.

When we reach 80k they'll say it's too expensive and they'll rather wait for another bear market. Then it will go to 200k or something and we'll start another cycle and those people who are out now will say, "ok it's time for a 20k bottom because I say so" and they'll keep waiting for it until the 2028 halving. Tongue

I'd love to see a million by 2030, but I doubt we'll even hit 500k by then.
843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pizza day reflection, what would it be like to build a city from scratch with btc on: May 31, 2023, 07:58:00 PM
1: People with a lot of btc will want to live in the place to be able to use bitcoins in a quiet life, without a state devaluing their capital.
2: The state will ask to provide resources such as basic sanitation and energy (electricity and oil), in this case we will be able to ask for a reserve in XYZ bitcoin as guarantees in a contract, if they do not honor the projects and deadlines, they lose the reserves (agreement is democracy).

I think this topic was brought up a few times in discussions about settlements on water. I haven't checked where these projects are now, but that guy who was living in a floating home got raided and his home was dragged back to shore.
Unfortunately the governments don't want these projects to succeed because they would show people that living outside their influence (or oppression, call it what you want) is possible. That's why they don't like bitcoin because it gives people a way to leave the system and they don't want them to. More people in the system means more sheep working for the elites.
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Allow To Undergo Hypnosis If A Professional Recommend To Cure Gambling on: May 31, 2023, 07:34:34 PM
I'd more seek for a professional help rather than hypnosis. One reason is because professionals have license which proves that they know what they are doing unlike with those people who hypnotizes people who only have experience. Professionals would have 'recovery' procedure if ever something bad happen which guarantees one's safety. Professionals won't suggest or recommend their client to unlicensed individuals 'coz that would be unethical. I am aware of how hypnosis works and for sure there are aspects of it which cannot be gauged. How would the hypnosis be limited to gambling alone and not with other behaviors? Which is for me is risky.

I always thought that if you're in trouble you should do everything and try every possible way to get better. This means that I'd try psychotherapy, family support, self exclusion, I'd share my bank accounts with a trusted member of my family, so they could keep track of all my spending and finally, if the opportunity were to arise, try hypnosis.
Worst case scenario it doesn't work and I waste some money, best case, at least one way of fighting my addiction will and I'll get rid of it.

Fortunately I'm not a compulsive gambler who needs that, but it's an interesting topic to think about.
845  Economy / Economics / Re: My wealth plan for next 3 years on: May 30, 2023, 10:29:23 PM
the bull run Will make profit i make profit and from the profit i make money for myself and i can Pay the % to lender.
Off course also i'll buy AIDOGE coin becouse 1000x i will make with this coin after 2 years.

You're so certain this will go according to your plan. What if it doesn't? What if you don't make profit and have to pay the lender?
What if this aidoge becomes another overhyped worthless project that instead of 1000x brings you -1x?

Quote
And off course after one year i start buying by DCA USDC becouse USDC gona be world reserve currency so off course i'll invest in this early.

Betting on some coin to becoming world reserve currency? If someone gave me a choice to either bet on this or on bitcoin going to 1 million dollars, I'd bet on the later.

If I order a pizza, the waiter must bring me a circular pasta cooked in the oven (preferably wood-fired) with a layer of tomato on the surface up to half a centimeter from the edge covered with mozzarella.
This is the basis.

Not really, this is your preference. If we follow your description pizza al taglio is not a pizza. Pizza bianca is also not a pizza and pizza marinara is not a pizza.

That said,

An omelet is not pizza.
Ramen noodles mixed with eggs is not pizza.
A potato pancake with toppings is not pizza.
847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle long shot bets? on: May 29, 2023, 08:35:35 PM
Try to have fun gambling. It's not about making money doing it because most gamblers lose money in the long run. You gamble to have some fun and feel the thrill of the game, the risk of betting and the satisfaction of winning, even if you end the session with a loss, winning those few games or hands makes it fun.

It's like in sports. You don't always win, but you keep playing because one in a few games ends with you winning.

What you're trying to do is make money each time and it's mathematically impossible, otherwise casinos would go bankrupt.
848  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto influencers secrets that all newbies should be aware of on: May 29, 2023, 08:19:45 PM
There's no general crypto influencer. There are guys who report on the news and in a way are crypto personalities that make youtube videos about cryptocurrencies, and there are people who literally pump shitcoins and promote scams. If you're looking for a good, informative channel, there's plenty of them to choose from. Stephan Liveira for instance does a good job.
He's exactly the opposite of people like bitboy, who are the scourge of the crypto youtube. Unfortunately, there's more bad apples than good ones in this batch.

If you're new to crypto and lost among the multitude of youtube channels, I'd generally avoid any channels that want to tell you about this exciting new project. I'd also avoid channels that were involved in promoting scams. You can google the name of the channel you're interested in and check if they weren't involved paid promotion of failed projects.
Last but not least, avoid analysts, especially people who add a new prediction every week saying that because we crossed this or that line we'll now go to this price and next week they backtrack and say that it's another price and another and it never happens the way they say.

Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day Celebration 2023
Buddy what is this, some kind of salad? I beg you, please google the word "pizza" to get some idea what that actually is before you start wasting your time and money.

Btw, those eggs (that are NEVER used for pizza dough) that I saw in one of your photos reminds me of the incident from ~30 years ago when I visited my grandma during summer holiday and asked her to make me a pizza. Since she never ate it or made before in her life, she asked me for dough recipe and even though I said i don't remember my mum ever using eggs, she insisted and decided to put a couple neverthless. Yeast + 3 eggs resulted in a 15 cm thick pizza lol.

That's what my aunt used to make. One time she told me that she'd made pizza for dinner, so I got all excited. I was 7 or 8 at the time and really honest and truthful, so when she brought in a cake with pizza toppings I thought I was being cheated and started screaming that it's not pizza and I won't eat it. Anyway, she made a yeast cake, at least 10 cm thick, like the one you mix with raisins, and instead of fruit there was ham and olives inside. She honestly thought that she was making pizza at the time and that "invention" wasn't bad at all, just not what you'd expect.

I second the opinion that although the contest is there to celebrate, the goal is to make pizza.
An omelet is not pizza.
Ramen noodles mixed with eggs is not pizza.
A potato pancake with toppings is not pizza.
850  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is crypto trading so similar yet so different from Forex trading? on: May 26, 2023, 03:28:40 PM
To me these are two very different things. Forex operates on much higher liquidity and volume, but much lower volatility. That's why cryptocurrencies are favored by people who want trading to be more like gambling, as shitcoin markets are heavily manipulated and influenced by pump groups. Many of these coins are outright ponzi schemes where some of the supply is held by developers and insiders who only wait to dump it on new investors.
Crypto trading is much more dangerous and it's much easier to lose all your money doing it, unless you focus on trading bitcoin with no leverage.
851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: May 26, 2023, 03:04:28 PM
In my own experience, I've found that keeping my partner informed about my gambling habits has helped to build trust and understanding between us. Even if the amounts being played with are small, it's important to keep your partner informed about your gambling, as well as other financial matters. This helps to avoid any misunderstandings or surprises down the line. Having a clear system of income and expenses is also a great way to ensure that everyone is on the same page. It helps to create a sense of accountability and responsibility for both partners, which can only be a good thing.

I agree with you here. It's best to be open and truthful about these things and they'll either accept it or not. If not, you'll know right away and will have to choose between your girlfriend and gambling.
Worst thing that can happen is you know she hates gambling, so you hide it from her, get married, then she finds out you've been doing it for years and threatens to divorce you, but you already have children whose life you'll destroy.
852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My mistake was making my involvement with Bitcoin public on: May 26, 2023, 02:37:42 PM
I feel like it depends on how old and how tech savvy your family is. For instance, if my child (she's still to young for it, but I'll use this example) asked me for money to invest in bitcoin I'd be in heaven.
If I were to do that with my father, who's a boomer, I'd get rejected and probably asked if I'm sure this isn't a scam.

Different people, different characters, different approaches to the same subject.
853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why choosing instant withdrawal casinos on: May 26, 2023, 02:29:28 PM
Usually instant withdrawal casinos feel more secure, like they have enough funds at hand in their hot wallets to process everything using a bot.
I don't have any bad experience with instant withdrawals. There used to be a number of such casinos, for instance in the good old yoodice you could choose instant or batch withdrawal, where instant made you pay higher fee but was processed within a few minutes, while the batch was cheaper and could take a few hours.
854  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How old are you now in bitcoin investment? on: May 25, 2023, 09:12:17 PM
Close to 8 years for me. Congratulations to everybody who held through at least 1 cycle. It's really an achievement not being discouraged by your first bull to bear shift.
There are 2 worst moments for every bitcoin holder:
The first one is going through your first big crash of at least 50%
The second one is being in a bear market for more than a year and starting to lose hope at the bottom.

Once you go through this and see the price recover your view of bitcoin changes by a lot. It's like you went through puberty.

If "Ukrainian Nazis" look like that, I might be interested in joining.

Fucking idiots, at least they would take Turkish armored vehicles. Couldn't keep Bakhmut? Let's send a suicide battalion in American armored vehicles, tell everyone that these are "Russian partisans", let them take over a village club near the border and everyone will die there. Brilliant.

Die? Like those prisoners turned soldiers that fight for Russia?

That suicide battalion made short work of Russian dragon's teeth and is doing good. I saw a video of them being interviewed yesterday and they're in good spirits. Doesn't look like they want to suicide.
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: May 25, 2023, 07:50:22 PM
Interesting, the article didn't mention the financial status of the family either they are too rich so they don't need the money or simply due to religious beliefs but I am surprised with the action of boy he bring the money to his family not used in a wrong way or simply wanted to gamble further with that money.

A smart trick to the boy, simply buy Bitcoin with that money and wait for the future to show you the real growth.

I don't think that you can be so rich to reject that kind of money, especially in Nigeria. Maybe millionaires in USD terms, not in Nigerian currency, could actually reject it and live good, but even if you're far above the average income in the country, that should be huge money for you. A life changing sum of money.
How much he'd be able to improve his life, or the life of his whole family? Probably by a lot.

If you don't want the money for yourself, do something good for others. Help your neighbors, put it in a school fund for your child, or in a savings account so that your kid doesn't have to beg anyone for money when he makes bad choices in life. Don't throw it away or give it back to the casino.

If I were the kid and my father said that the money won't enter his house, I'd agree with him and put it in the bank Cheesy
857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It used to be you could mine on a laptop now I take a loss mining on asics. on: May 24, 2023, 07:28:11 PM
Why not just give everyone the same stake as 1 so we can play the fair game of monopoly and delete all these asic farms?

So you're a socialist. You'd like everyone to be the same and have the same incentive to mine, receive the same rewards and all that. What's next? We'll equalize bitcoin and make all the big wallets contribute to small wallets?
It's completely normal for companies to seek better and faster miners. Competition is good as it fuels innovation and paying more to those who are the best, the fastest, the most innovative, rewards them. If you give everybody the same reward, you'll reward laziness. Why would I rent a warehouse to have enough miners to compete for block rewards if I can get a USB asic miner?
858  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 24, 2023, 07:17:21 PM
Well, that is, you deliberately threw in a fake and do not deny it. And Ukraine sells American military aid in military shops. Maybe I'll quote it too. Grin

I could answer that for Ukraine in the typical "Russian" style.
We don't know how they got them, we didn't provide them, they probably stole these machines from the battlefield.

Remember what Russia was saying about the Malaysian Flight 17 in 2014?
We weren't there, there were no Russian BUK systems in Ukraine. The US provided satellite images of Russian BUKs, but Russia answered that those belonged to the Ukrainian separatists.
Then the US provided satellite images showing the missile launchers were moved after the accident towards Russia - Russia denied again.
People were posting pictures and videos of Russian BUKs with Russian flags painted on them driving on the Ukrainian roads, but Russia kept denying and repeating that there were no Russian forces there.

When they catch you with your hand in the cookie jar, say it's not your hand.

It is possible the Russian soldiers who fought on the Ukrainian side took some of the abandoned vehicles for themselves, the way Ukrainian forces use salvaged Russian vehicles and weapons.
On the battlefield nobody cares who picks up what. If you find a tank - it's yours now. Same can be said about a hummer, or a missile launcher.

Enough buddy well at least you are over 27k

Damn, that didn't last long Cheesy

Not like I care. Wasn't planning to throw any bitcoins at car dealers before the halving anyway, but decent price would make me feel better. When you wake up to a long green daily candle it does wonders for your mood. Red candle is like -oh, another one, here comes another boring day, where's my coffee...

"broadcasted crypto"...  mkay
is there an English version / translation of the video somewhere?

I don't speak Chinese, but they were showing a bitcoin logo.
I know that for a shitcoiner like CZ it's all "crypto" but it would be great if people learned that bitcoin and this "crypto shit are not one and the same.

Also, it appears that CZ was really commingling funds according to the Reuters

860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wife discovers husband's hidden Bitcoin during divorce proceeding on: May 23, 2023, 05:03:02 PM
Prenup, guys. No matter how nice she seems, no matter how much you're crazy about her, no matter how supportive and good she seems, ask for a prenup to be signed if you're situated individual.

If she is with you because she loves YOU for you, she wont have any issues with prenup. If she isn't, she'll give you shit and make you feel bad about it. Stay safe, gents

It doesn't change anything in their case because he didn't have these bitcoins before marriage. He bought them later, when he was earning his 3 million a year.
AFAIK a prenup only makes it clear as to what they had as their own assets and assets that belonged to their families, but income earned during marriage is split.
The law even separates the property into personal property (protected by the prenup) and joint property (that gets divided).
BTC was bough with the money the husband earned during marriage, which is why she had the right to pursue it.
