841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ESMA - Investment using virtual currency or distributed ledger technology on: April 24, 2015, 05:40:15 AM
the time for a distributed ledger for investment products would have been about two years ago. Unfortunately almost every single crypto-investment has turned out to be either a scam or a failure. No one who has done any sort of research on the area will see pretty quick that btc investments and securities are a cess pit of scammers.  I can tell you that over the last few years I have lost almost everything I have risked in the sphere.

The tech/platform looks great, its the offerings that have tainted the market. If the platform contained a way for the offerings to be verifiable and accountable, it could be a game changer. Otherwise, IMHO bitcoin securities have gone the way of 1980s era penny stocks...i.e. unregulated and 99.9999% worthless.

didn't burnside take care of all the users of BTC-TC and shut down in a reasonably fair manner? As I remember it was pretty seemless, for me anyway. A pain in the ass, but I didnt lose anything in the process.

Ukyo just burned everybody and shifted the blame to...?
843  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 23, 2015, 11:03:50 PM
well I'm guessing that the AMhash buyout deal has nothing to do with FC or AM directly. Most likely Rockminer trying to squeeze out and/or havelock covering their ass.

I expect this to go the way of every other fail bitcoin security. They vanish and every bagholder gets nothing. At least activeminer has the sec on their ass and is ordered to pay all sorts of fines and their case is moving up to the federal level. And apparently the labcoin crooks have the italian police investigating their case. If you cant get any money back, at least making the crooks fry is some sort of relief...

and i would like to see this thread remain open. Good place to vent, watch trolls argue with each other, and serve as a general example of just how worthless all btc securities turn out to be, no matter how great they may look at first.

here's a little riddle for you...

Q: How does a con-artist say "I am going to rob you?"

A: "This is not a scam"
845  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 22, 2015, 11:42:09 PM
I'm just surprised all the AM1 bag holders are so silent. AM hash is a big fail, but AM1s mess is the whole reason behind it. Have the bagholders all simply rolled over and accepted defeat? As far as I can tell FC owes AM1 bagholders everything in his wallet. Or does everyone think they can climb out of their hole? (They can't)
846  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: April 22, 2015, 11:36:08 PM
I just hope there is something left for disgorgement. Doubt it but still hope. Anything would be a miracle.

Check this out! "Going to the federal level" next. Meaning kslaughter pays up or goes to prison.
Looks like zumzero is getting his 15 minutes of fame, the loser.
848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interpol Builds Their Own Digital Currency on: April 22, 2015, 07:56:26 AM
I'm actually ok with this. I've lost btc to scams and hacks in the past. Seeing your coins vanish and knowing you can't do anything about it is a real deterant to adoption. Srsly if they can figure out how to catch theives I might start liking these 3 letter agencies
849  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 22, 2015, 07:48:59 AM
FC is alive and sending coins?Huh Wtf??? I sure hope he sends some to th AM shareholders
850  Other / Meta / Re: Account Banned without any reason provided on: April 17, 2015, 10:29:36 AM
how much do these guys pay for an account? Its something like 0.01 BTC for a full member isnt it? It would take months to earn that back won a sig campaign, and ...yeah... bans...

It's ridiculous to me. Sig campaigns don't bother me (obviously) and neither does buying accounts, but I cant see why anyone would spend money to make so little in return, and probably just get banned on the way.

sig campaigns should just be gravy for the bitcointalk junkies like me who are on here a lot and might as well get a little reward, but its so little TBH that it is certainly no income I am relying on.

Shouldnt this simple logic discourage the whole practice of buying accounts and sig-farming? Am I missing something, or is it like faucets? some people cannot not believe they will make bank wasting all their time collecting pennies?
851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Casualty List on: April 17, 2015, 09:40:17 AM
what about the hardware manufacturers who have gone down in flames?

ASICminer, and BFL isn't HashFast dead too?

they may not be exchanges and served a niche market of the entire niche BTC world, but a lot of people, like myself, lost a lot of money on these losers. Its depressing and I'm not very pleased with anything crypto right now as a result.
852  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 15, 2015, 02:28:29 PM
or FC just sold a whole bunch of miners "off the back of the truck" and pocketed the money. Who is Zeus miner anyway? I don't recall hearing of them before.
From the photos they provide they don't look like the 3rd biggest mine in China.
853  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I can earn from the Signature campaign? on: April 15, 2015, 02:01:48 PM
Wait until you have a higher rank. Learn to converse and write constructive posts. It's not about the money and if you bomb the forums with useless empty posts the users that are here to share and receive knowledge will not take you seriously and probably put you on ignore.
Sig campaigns can be ok, as you can see I am involved, but if you don't actually converse, take actual part in real discussions, your experience in these forums will be poorer and so will that of everybody else's.
I was an active member for two years before I even tried a sig campaign. I'm here for Bitcoin news and information but also I am part of a community. That's worth a lot to me. I respect many of the users who are active here, would even think of some of them as friends.
There is a lot going on in here, many subs to explore, always something to learn and make you think.
Think of your future sig earnings as gravy, not the whole dinner  Grin
854  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Guide to earn Bitcoin fastest way possible with Social Media on: April 15, 2015, 01:42:50 PM
social engineering can be manipulated easily to give results in the form of Bitcoin but OPS guide is by no record definitive Tongue there are plenty of ways to earn bitcoin via social networks Tongue Cheesy
Care to elaborate? Or maybe refer a link for these many ways? I'm sure many users here would be interested. I would take a look.

i am the only one who see here
http://news.zeushash.com/news/43

the disappeared amhash1 mining farm gear?

wasnt the talking about friedcat gone create a farm in northern china mongolia area?

and now a new mining company starts with Farm in Wuyuan, Inner Mongolia, China............

just instead of mining for people who already paid

the hashrate is sold again via zeus?

i have no facts but i add pieces together and they would fit pretty good together....

i i would be AM i would have a closer look at this new HalleyChina company and if its not my own gear that is working in their farm

very interesting find cryptonit

their Zeusminer forums are full of complaints, falling hashrates, no customer service. Their investors are losing money.

If it is FC and /or AM it looks like it's "business as usual" for them!

Do you think the pictures of the mine being built with the new miners, that those miners in it are AMhash/AM stolen miners?

Please explain your math
856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you were an artificial intelligent robot, what currency would you accept? on: April 14, 2015, 10:52:21 PM
It might not be exactly what you are talking about, but I've heard suggestion that the Internet of Things and Bitcoin could go hand in hand. Here's a potential use case:

Your refrigerator realizes that you are out of milk, eggs, steak, and something else. It compiles a list and emails you to let you know. You approve the purchase and the refrigerator transfers bitcoin to the grocery store that then delivers those ingredients (in a self driving truck!) to you. The refrigerator handled inventory, payment, and fulfillment.

The internet of things would use blockchain technology, not necessarily bitcoin. I'm guessing they would build a single purpose blockchain with special token that only power the IoT. Bitcoin is too riddled with problems. Imagine if someone hacked your wallet and now your fridge wont work, or worse, they order 50k$ worth of filet mignon to themselves and charge you for it. It would make more sense to me that they would create a crypto-token that is stricktly built for IoT and has no value on its own and would therefore not get stolen.

As for AI, its an exciting concept, but much like teleportation... they can actually do it, but only for tiny bits of digital information so far. Its a long way off till we can "beam me up, Scotty" but that doesn't make for interesting headlines, does it? More exciting to say "Robots are thinking for themselves and are poised to take over the world!" Honestly, the future isn't as fantastic as they keep promising, they don't even have real hover-boards yet, ffs.

Just because something appears in a science fiction does not ensure it will become reality, as sad as that is to hear. sorry guys, no zombie apocalypse this year.
857  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Could obsolete ASICs become expensive antiques one day? on: April 14, 2015, 10:35:42 PM
If it wasn't for the fact that I received my BFL 60G/hs miner right before the November 2013 ATH, and that I paid for it in cash, I would have lost money on it. As it turned out I actually doubled my money by cashing out the few btc i could actually squeeze out of it right away. It became obsolete after about 2 months, even though I ran it for about 5. It sits in its box unused right now and I am going to forget about it until I start hearing about these antique hardware auctions making people rich. Probably 10 or twenty years from now. maybe sooner if btc dies or conversely, becomes universally used and accepted.

on a side note, I made a cool 1000$ for my old 160 GB iPod classic last december. I didn't expect that to happen. Apparently DJs covet them for their large storage capacity. makes sense to me, but it wont be long before apple exploits this market and re-releases them. the price has already dropped back to ~300 bucks
858  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hitleap Is it worth it? on: April 14, 2015, 10:25:09 PM
I've messed with these type of traffic inflators in the past. They are actual IPs but false views. Also I noticed a lot of malware coming with it.
The argument was that even though the views were fake, it increases your traffic and therefore improves SEO. Google is improving their fake traffic and click-fraud detection every day. They make millions (billions?) from their adsense advertisers, they work really hard to protect them, and thus that income. If they catch you fiddling with your view count they do what is called a "G-line" to you. This means, no matter what, you are shoved to the bottom of every search result that might include you. So in the long run, fake views only get you the opposite effect that you were going for.

Etsy, as widely derided as it is, has plenty of built in traffic, and you can ask to accept Bitcoin (shoppers have to PM you, but still....) There are a few other online marketplaces that you can run in conjunction to your own domain. There is also the "goods" section of the "marketplace" sub, right here on bitcointalk. built in btc friendly customers right there!

You would be smartest to study SEO techniques. You can make blog posts and social media posts that maximize your specific key words and lead the reader directly to your online store.  Look for websites and blogs related to what your selling, try and provide them quality original content, singing your own praises and directing buyers towards your site. I used to run a consumer advice website that was basically there to promote products and allow me to write whatever large purchases I made off my taxes.

I'd suggest google adsense, but I hate them plus I have never even once clicked on a adsense ad. I've asked around, and no one I have asked has ever clicked either. I honestly believe, despite google's best efforts, that 99% of all traffic from adsense is spurious. click-fraudsters and accidental hits. This is the biggest secret they keep from their clients!
859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The 420 Alliance Joint Force DAO, Now paying out in BitCoins! on: April 14, 2015, 10:00:19 PM
I don't know about this.
First of all, let's simplify. This concern is selling cell phone chargers. That's fairly limited in itself. They do mention they will expand to sell what the market asks for, but that in itself is too open ended to qualify as a "business plan"
In retail, you begin with the product, this idea for a store lacks that singular focus.
Next, the crypto X thing.... hmmmm, at first glance it looks like a pyramid scheme, or at least MLM. The idea that store will accept cryptos then merge them into more valuable cryptos... you had better keep that one secret from your customers. In fact the whole set up is a little too confusing to inspire much trust right away, and let me tell you, I smoke a LOT of pot, I've talked to millions of pot-head "entrepreneurs" and I already know the song and dance. Blow a couple doobs and all the sudden you are going to take over the world. Weed smokers seem to be able to complicate the simplest things. Just go into your local bong shop and ask which pipe works best, you'll come out 3 hours later with your head spinning and the proud ownership of a few hundred dollars worth of junk you didn't actually want. Like I said, I am a daily smoker, but I don't have any illusions. I especially can not stand dope addled "geniuses" telling me what's what. The herb can make you tend to err on the side of unrealistic notions and outright fantasia, if you embrace that, next thing you know you're...i dunno, investing in a poorly thought out business?
DAO's are a great thing, for sure, it is just they need to be more than a great notion to actually gain traction in the real world. All I can see here for sale is cell phone chargers and an idea that is already free.

Now, if they were planning to open a medical marijuana dispensary and operate it under DAO, THAT would be interesting.

anyway, shouldn't this actually be in the securities section?
860  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 14, 2015, 04:05:19 AM
Yup.
The correct thing to do would be to liquidate the company, distribute the btc to the shareholders, amhash included. I really wonder, inside AM, did they all get paid off? The BoD? FC is known to some real people who reside in China. Vanishing and staying in hiding is difficult. You'd need to hand out some hush money if you want to walk down the street let alone work in the industry ever again.
